[Excerpt from Michael Speaks: April 2002]
[shelleyessences] Michael can you explain a little further about diverging parallels?
As a life unfolds, it is created through the Decisions and Choices of the Personality and Essence. Decisions are the “little things” that move you toward more pivotal Choices. Deciding whether or not to purchase a pound of coffee in the supermarket will direct you toward certain future Decisions, and eventually, the pattern of Decisions will build to a point of Choice.
For example, purchasing the Coffee may have put you in the “right place at the right time” to meet a fragment with whom you share an Agreement. Decisions within that friendship may lead to a pivotal Choice as to whether to start dating or not. That major pivotal Choice will then lead you to more Decisions and Choices, all extending like “branches” from previous Decisions and Choices.
DECISIONS do not necessarily create Parallels. CHOICES always do.
At the point in which you make a CHOICE, the Choices “left behind” actually generate their own reality/dimension in which the Essence and a version of the same Personality can go without missing out on ANY Choice.
A Divergence, then, is when fragments are entering a particularly heightened period of time in which they know some Choices within a pivotal context must be “left behind.” Thus, each Choice will generate its own reality. This can be disconcerting, depressing, and/or joyously freeing.
A CONVERGENCE is when those individual realities become so similar they “rejoin” and combine their histories.
