    This material is an excerpt from a private session on September 15, 2014 for a student who is no longer on the site. MEntity: In terms of Self-Karma, there are really only 3 stages: Negative, Positive, and Neutral. Self-Karma is any division within the self that is fully aware of the positive stance vs the negative stance, and the battle between those until there is resolution. Usually one takes an extreme negative or extreme positive stance on the self-karma and is plagued by the draw of the opposite. For instance, a person may enjoy smoking (positive), but find himself pulled in the direction of knowledge that says that it is bad for him, unhealthy, stinks, and may be harming those around him (negative). The issue is not whether he stops smoking, or not, but the resolution of that divide within him. Resolving the self-karma (neutral) would be in either quitting smoking, or embracing the fact of smoking and all that it entails. Resolution always comes from the full embrace of either the positive or the negative aspect of the issue, which naturally drops the issue into neutrality. The best approach that we have found for discovering and resolving self-karma is to start with a list of three issues that you feel divided about. Once you've listed those three issues, you can then write out the positive side and the negative side of the issue. From there, you can explore which side is truer to your nature and preferences and begin the work of embracing that side. The more self-karma an individual has, the harder it is to be true to oneself.

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks: June 2008] [QUESTION] I have recently been involved in discussions with a few of my friends regarding political and governmental systems regarding which are the most effective. My friends would gladly describe themselves as “libertarian” whereas I cannot completely proscribe to such an ideology, if only because their description of “libertarianism” seems to give too much authority to the private sector and private interests; of which I am not entirely comfortable. They would likely label me as “socialist” or as “bleeding heart liberal” if they didn’t know me better! I guess the questions are: Is there or are there ideal governmental system(s) or ideology for the current average soul age we are in currently, based on what Michael has perceived from other sentient beings? What do these systems look like? Perhaps what the United States and the rest of the world is currently experiencing in their governments are pretty typical for our current soul age development? That would be my perception at least. Also, what do typical governments look like on worlds that have a majority of old souls? Or do they even have governments? [Michael Entity] : The politics of any given region or period of time usually describe the friction between the approaching paradigm and the current paradigm, each respectively defined by the approaching dominant Soul Age and the current dominant Soul Age. Many of the names assigned to the varying "parties" are tedious and unnecessary, so we will speak in broader terms here. It could be said that the following political systems are associated in this way: NOTE FROM TROY: Some editing was done from the original text as I asked Michael for clarifications and questioned a couple of the original details. Also, the true definitions and delineations for all of the political/governmental systems can really get complicated, so Michael's response seems to be exactly what they've said, a "broader" perspective, at best. They did explain to me that there are really only three political systems, but a multitude of systems within those systems. [Michael Entity] : Infant Souls have no politics or order, and are therefore at the mercy of whatever dominant political system is in place at the time. However, they may be most comfortable with Dictatorship, which would be implemented by Baby Souls. The Baby/Young politics have shown up as Dictatorship, Capitalism, and Socialism. The Young/Mature politics have shown up as Monarchy, Republic, Socialism, and Communism. The Mature/Old politics have shown up as Monarchy, Democracy, and Anarchy. Old Soul politics return to a state of no politics, but more of what might be considered Anarchy. We use the word "anarchy" in its true definition, not as the Young or Mature soul might exploit the term. The anarchy usually takes on a form that would be recognized as Tribalism. In response to your questions: We would say that the politics of your current world are exactly indicative of the shifts from the dominant paradigm/soul age to another. From what we can see of other populations dominated by Old Soul Ages and paradigms, there are no governments that you would recognize beyond being more tribal groups in communication and exchange with one another, but with no discernible leader or authority. This is one of the reasons our teaching is particularly attractive to the older soul, since there is no discernible authority beyond the self, and even the sense of self is held in question to a degree that allows for sensitive consideration of all factors involved in the life. An Old Soul world is similar. [QUESTION] I realize my background in government is obviously lacking when I ask this question, but: Is there any distinguishable difference between a democracy and a republic according to Michael's perception? By including both, it seems to be implied that there is a difference. [Michael Entity] : We differentiate a Republic from a Democracy in that a Republic has a more specifically-defined body of qualified voters or elected representatives, while a Democracy seeks to include all people, even those who might not be obviously qualified. The concept of Democracy can get confusing in some cultures such as in the United States because several forms of government are in place. Rather than a pure Democracy, the United States is far more accurately described as a Republic, which is a form of Democracy, but not true Democracy. In addition to this, the general promotion of Democracy is run from an Authoritarian perspective, or as a Plutocracy, to be specific. It could be said that the Physical economy of the United States is run by Plutocratic (authoritarian) politics, while the Emotional economy is run by Republican (Democratic) methods, and this is to be considered when looking at politics. There are Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, and Spiritual levels of Politics and Economy to consider in any system. The closest to an old soul political system that exists in your world today is what is experienced as "the Internet." [QUESTION] How are the Internet and politics related? [Michael Entity] : If "politics" is seen as a term to describe how a body of people govern themselves and resolve apparent conflicts, then the Internet could be seen as a system of politics. In this case, as would be the case for the Old Soul world, COMMUNICATION would be at the core of those politics, or the INTELLECT as economy. The Infant Soul uses Freedom; the Baby Soul uses Authority; the Young Soul uses Capital; the Mature Soul uses Well-Being; and the Old Soul uses Communication at the root of their politics. The "ultimate" political system, in the end, will have to utilize all of these factors to govern a mix of soul ages. Hence, the politics of a Democracy or a Republic will include previous political emphases to some degree, but with the more current politics being the emphasis. [QUESTION] And so, just as we are doing here in this chat, everyone determines for themselves, and then relates to the outside world through communication. but as an autonomous being similarly engaged with other autonomous beings/people? Something like this? [Michael Entity] : We think we have understood your question and we would agree. It could be said then that the politics of the Old Soul are CONTEXTUAL. Certain politics apply within specific instances, but are not seen as appropriate across the board. And each person determines his or her level of compliance within certain contexts, or freely moves to more appropriate contexts. We realize this is far from being deeply explored, but we will move on now.

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks: November 2013] [ViP1] Sex education for children is something that seems particularly important in order for children to know how to manage their impulses with respect for themselves as they become older, and yet it is approached in wildly varying, ad hoc ways that typically depend heavily on cultural background. Such approaches range from no intentional attempt at sex education at all, rather avoiding the topic completely, to complete openness that might strike other people as awkward and inappropriate. The education itself might come from parents, or from teachers, or from friends, or from the media, or all of those. In addition, there is usually some degree of awkwardness in parents around even raising the topic with their children to begin with. Do you have any insights on how to approach sex education for children, irrespective of their cultural background, in a manner that is inclusive of their own makeup, that is appropriate to and respectful of their needs and level of mental/emotional development, the best age for children at which to introduce it, and who such education might best be provided by? [MEntity] The greatest approach to sex education is through the removal of shame from the equation. The rest is fairly moot. Shame is easily learned, and this informs one more so than any other guiding factor for health. We say that the rest is fairly moot because most education for children regarding a topic that cannot be fathomed is difficult to instill in any meaningful way, and for those in the throes of it simply cannot hear. "Education" would be most effective in removing shame, and inviting choice. By inviting choice we mean that children would do well to know that they have a choice for being safe, asking for more information, accessing protection, etc. For some, the details are helpful, for others the details are meaningless, but for the entire spectrum of ages and cultures, CHOICE is what is often missing from the equation of education. "You do not have to understand what you are doing, just that you have a choice in how you are doing it." Once the power of choice is in a child's hand from any culture, and the weight of shame is removed, the eagerness for "better choices" comes naturally. In short: reduce shame, increase choice. This can be implemented in any number of ways.

    This material was obtained in a private session on November 24, 2014. Geraldine_B: I've become really aware of some very long time spans between Essence's incarnations, as in a million years or more at times. What do Essences “do” during these long pauses. How or what are they experiencing or learning? MEntity: Essences who spend great lengths of time between incarnations do a multitude of things that are too numerous to describe. It would be like trying to describe a detailed response to "what do people do who are alive?" We can describe both living and in-between lives as having an emphasis on experiences, learning, and choices, and while that is accurate because it can describe the larger context of all lives extant and non-extant, it does not give you a clear idea of the more mundane activities within those larger contexts. But here are some examples: Some act as guides and gain experience by their direct relationship through a fragment who is extant. If you are one of the Primary Guides, that time spent as guide "counts" as a lifetime. You gain the same experiences of the lifetime as the fragment extant, but from a very different angle. Having the experience of being extant, but from such a different angle, helps one to create one's own Personalities with greater insight and planning. This is why some fragments "remember" being a famous historic figure because he or she may have been a part of the network of guides for that fragment. The more influential and "positive" a fragment is in history, the greater the network of guides. The more influential and "negative" the fragment, there are fewer guides, if any. Other activities that span those lengths of time are "lifetimes" on the Astral. These are practice lifetimes, if you will. Groups of fragments will gather and run a simulation of ideas for lifetimes, playing out as many variations as possible. Other activities are that the Essence can pull from the library of lifetimes already processed by any fragment and "live" that lifetime out on the Astral. Not everyone will be a Hitler, for instance, but in much the same way that not everyone will be a murderer, but still enjoy a violent and scary movie with murder as the plot, so will fragments be curious about those extreme lifetimes like that of Hitler. This is pulled and an Essence can play through it like a virtual reality game, trying to gain some insight or understanding from the most extreme of perceptions like this. The same is true of even a fragment who hosts the Infinite Soul. That lifetime is available for playthrough.

    This material was obtained in a private session on December 12, 2019. Note from Janet: I asked a question about the IM status of a young man. I've removed identifying info and some content to preserve privacy, but I thought the info about early 4th IM might be generally useful. Janet: For now, what is his current IM status? MEntity: His Internal Monad status is working through the 4th Internal Monad by revisiting unfinished processes of the 3rd Internal Monad. ... You are witnessing this inner process in many of his words. ... Patience is also necessary. If you speak as the authority, it will be harder to hear, but if you speak as one who understands and wishes to help honor his exploration of his own authority, it is likely to be received well. There are soul age manifestations in fluctuation as he works on himself. Janet: Do many young people experiencing an “early” 4th IM have similar issues? MEntity: Yes, it is a familiar pattern. Early 4th Internal Monad can reveal all of the ways in which one still must become the authority in one's life while still dependent upon the authority in the current life. If the 3rd Internal Monad is thoroughly resolved, this is less confusing, but still a challenge. If the 3rd Internal Monad is resolved, but remains with areas to revisit, it can be quite disorienting and disruptive, leading to bouts of rebellion and retaliation rather than cooperation and conscious choice. The point of the 3rd Internal Monad is not to reject all authority in the life, but to add your own to it in a way that works together.

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks: September 2008] QUESTION: I can see how anger can be useful (to show you when your boundaries have been breached), but Cruelty would seem to have no use. Why does it exist, and where does it come from? MEntity: In the same way that anger is a defense, so is what you might consider to be cruelty. However, it is important to note that "cruelty" is often a relative experience. "Cruelty" is often not an intentional by-product of someone's action or choices, but a fragment who is disappointed might assign the label of "cruelty" to the event. For instance, when one fragment can legitimately sense the necessity of a separation within a relationship, but the other fragment is deeply attached and terrified of solitude, the choice of the fragment to move on can be interpreted as "cruel," when, indeed, it was one of the most loving choices the other fragment might have experienced to-date. COMMENT: Oh, I see. I guess I was thinking of cruelty as intentionally trying to hurt another. MEntity: It is very important to differentiate the intentional act of cruelty from the interpretative act of defense against disappointment. Acts of cruelty are often not just the result of intentions to hurt, but can be the result of neglect, denial, justification, and apathy. With all of that being said, we can now more clearly respond to your original question of "why does it exist," and "from where does it come." The legitimate act of cruelty, whether intentional or not, is a product of choice, of course, but a product of choice that is entirely self-preserving. Not "self-serving," but self-PRESERVING. There is a difference. Self-preservation is an act of survival and fear, whereas self-serving is an act of giving/receiving. Cruelty, then, "exists" because there are a myriad of ways in which the fearful body, mind, or heart can turn for survival purposes when these feel threatened. Even the most intentional, drawn-out acts of torture as a form of cruelty would still be generated from this very same thing. Although all Chief Negative Features can bring about forms of cruelty, the most active, intentional forms of cruelty can generate from Arrogance and Self-Deprecation, and the most passive forms of cruelty can generate from Impatience and Martyrdom. In terms of "cruelty having no use," we would agree. Cruelty is an unnecessary byproduct of fear and has no value beyond the false sense of defense. QUESTION: Would you say anything about healing our bodies when they have been experiencing physical and emotional cruelty? MEntity: The response to your question might find more relevance on an individual basis, but what we can say in general is for any fragment who has experienced cruelty, whether real or imagined, 50% of the healing would come from the comprehension that the cruelty had nothing to do with you, or your value, your meaning, your worth, your choices, your past, future, etc. In short, it has nothing to do with you at all. For many who experience cruelty, real or imagined, healing is delayed by the constant questioning of WHY. Most often there is no answer to this question that would satisfy you. The focus for healing would be more beneficial in the direction of HOW, as in focusing on your rebuilding, your personal compassion and kindness, and your support.

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks: May 2007] MEntity: It should be noted that there are 3 Arcs of Meaning to be created within a life and within relationships. A FOUNDATIONAL ARC exists as the primary meaning across which all effort ranging from basic nurturing to ultimate agape within that relationship or life is motivated. The Foundational Arc is the arc to which one must always remain close as the shorter arcs fluctuate. The Foundational Arc is what remains even when the life is completed or a relationship appears to have ended. If one were to think of the Foundational Arc as the full potential meaning that one creates for the life or relationship, it would not be amiss. Within the Foundational Arc is the CONTEXTUAL ARC, which gives variation of meaning within the larger arc, relative to specific experiences for the day, month, year, etc. The Contextual Arc can sometimes seem to conflict with the Foundational Arc, but understanding the meaning you have created within these specific experiences can help you to understand who you are, more than it is to be used to determine the fate of a relationship or life. Thinking of the Foundational Arc as the rainbow of potential within the life or relationship, then the Contextual Arcs are the colors through which that Foundation is explored. Within the Contextual Arcs are the MOOD ARCS, which give clever expression to the flow of one's overall tone of intellectual, emotional, physical states at any given time, which is much like the HUE for the COLOR that is the current Contextual Arc. Mood Arcs are often THE meaning that one is most aware of and can often destroy the meaning that was created as a foundation. To know of your Mood Arcs can save your life or relationship. Foundational Arcs are THE MEANING I CREATE AS POTENTIAL FOR THIS LIFE OR RELATIONSHIP. Contextual Arcs are THE MEANING I CREATE FROM THE EXPERIENCES I AM HAVING WITHIN THIS LIFE OR RELATIONSHIP. Mood Arcs are THE MEANING I CREATE ABOUT MYSELF IN RELATION TO THE EXPERIENCES I AM HAVING RIGHT NOW.

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks: October 2009] [QUESTION] Hello, Michael. Based on the Teachings we've received so far, I cannot validate the truth of whether or not Cetaceans are an ensouled family of animals for a number of reasons: ...1) Michael has said that Cetacea are a transplanted group of Essences who are finishing off their Grand Cycles started elsewhere, but nearly gone extinct due to technological/civilization abuses. Also, their ensoulment started prior to humans. ...When did cetaceans first ensoul on earth? [Michael Entity] About 40 million years ago by Earth standards of measuring time. The original line of species from the original star system were land and water mammals who would resemble something more like variations of swimming wolves that could walk upright. The line of species on Earth that were used for continued ensoulment of the 3 Harmonies (about 5 million entities) was an Order that had some genetic history of land and water life, as well, but had become water-bound, with no appendages capable of environmental manipulation, and had developed the Intellectual Center to a point where a leap into self-awareness and capacity for choice could be ignited by the ensoulment. ...What was the average soul age level? [Michael Entity] The average Soul Age at the time of the transition was early Young. ...Have they continued to start new infant souls? [Michael Entity] Infant Souls stopped choosing these species millions of years ago, though 1 additional Harmony that had not begun its incarnations in the previous species joined the 3 who transferred, and those fragments know only Earth as their Sentient cycles. Most of the fragments who have become notorious in their curiosity and exchange with Human Sentience come from that Harmony. ...2) Cetaceans is a biological order, not a species -- just as primates is an order, not a species. The order Cetacea contains about ninety species, all marine except for four species of freshwater dolphins. ...Which species of Cetaceans are ensouled? [Michael Entity] The concept of "Species" is a relative concept, and one that is not consistent, complete, or agreed upon, even within your scientific communities. We use the term loosely, as it does have a fair amount of accuracy as a reference. In terms of Cetacea, nearly all species are ensouled, except the various Families known as the River Dolphin. Within the Cetacean world, "species" are experienced more in the way that Humans experience "Race," with no real differentiation between those Whales with teeth and those without. ...3) Michael has said that culture and social interactions are major parts of the evolution of humans' soul ages. The continual use of choice generates intense relationships, and karma. Civilization has grown out of a need to stabilize the effects of weather irregularities and to allow for surpluses. ...While I can understand that civilization may not be necessary in a stable environment and food supply, especially if one is nomadic, the impact of social interactions and karma seems necessary for soul evolution. None of the information about roles, overleaves, or even soul age level seem to apply to cetaceans. Nor do they seem to share a culture. Can you explain? [Michael Entity] The vast variation of cultures among Humans, however foreign, frightening, or familiar, all share mediums that are natural to your species. The same is true of Cetaceans who do not have the same capacity for manipulating their environment in a way that you would recognize their cultures, but in ways that are relative to their capabilities. In many cases, there are common grounds, but even within that common ground, it may not be recognizable to Humans as a "culture" by Human standards. Areas of culture that you might recognize would be in their dance, games, singing, poetry, families, story-telling, etc. These are areas that are handed down, taught, have become tradition, have evolved over time, and could be seen and heard by you for the most part, though it may not make sense to you. Beyond these common areas, art is quite important to Cetacea and this is done in an arena that you might recognize as a telepathic, or psychic, arena. Constructs of thought and feeling can be shaped in ways that can be transferred and shared among the various species. Many of the larger Whales might be experienced as floating art galleries, as they tend to store and collect art. Cetacea do not have religions as Humans do, but they do have their mythologies that could be said to be similar to religious mythology. Most of their mythologies are consistent and shared across species, all being variations of their history of commitment to rise above harm and violence, to cultivate arts, and to find their way home to the stars. Human mythology is similar, since Human Sentience was also transported from species off-planet, but Humans have turned their mythologies away from being a reflection of origin and intent, to being a process and mirror for dysfunction. Soul Age, Levels, Overleaves, etc, are just as valid among Cetacea as they are among Humans. There are instances when our students may recognize the validity of these factors in behaviors that are familiar, or as exchanges between Cetacean and Human. For the most part, your question is similar to a statement such as "all Chinese look alike," when that statement couldn't be further from the truth. That statement, as well as your question, merely reflects a lack of intimate experience with the individuals that make up that group. We can assure you that there is a spectrum of personalities among Cetacea, from wise Whales and wise-ass Whales, and beyond. As with any group of Sentience that has variations of body types, cultures, history, current circumstances, etc, Soul Ages tend to gravitate toward one group or another. For instance, in Humans the "Black Race" used to be primarily Mature Souls as slavery was imposed, and the fight for freedom and rights was building. Once a fair amount of freedom was secured, Young Souls have now moved into that "race" as a means to take advantage of that freedom. For many years, Servers found great value in building up the United States, but once the United States moved into a Young Soul paradigm, Servers shifted their population to China. Now that Mature Souls, and a return of emphasis to family and support is building, Servers are returning to the U.S. This same kind of movement of Souls and Soul Ages is within the Cetacea. The species known as Orca are more exciting to the Infant and Baby Souls, whereas the larger Whales are more appealing to the Older Souls. Now Orcas tend to be popular among Young Souls, and this contributed to an entire entertainment industry on land with Humans, as these Young Souls rebel against their cultures and insist that they can be "stars." Many of the familiar Dolphin tales of rescue and nurturing of stranded humans are Mature Souls, as well as the occasional beached, confused, or tragic incidences among Whales and Dolphins. Whales and Dolphins drawn to Human exchanges tend to be Sages and Scholars. Of course, within all of this are the Overleaves. In short, unless you are able to truly submerge yourself into another group, the things that you find familiar may not be found among that group, but that does not invalidate the reality of their souls or their cultures. ...4) Michael has said that the essential component necessary to a intelligent species to make the leap to sentience and ensoulment is imagination. Choice requires imagination and creative thinking. Whales, dolphins, and porpoises are generally deemed very intelligent, but there seems little evidence of imagination. Humpback whales display creative thinking in their use of encircling herring in a ring of bubbles that forces them into a ball for easy capture. But for all of the millennium that humans and cetacea have co-existed, none of the cetaceans seem to have much understanding or lore about avoiding human hunters. Cetacean language may include song but it doesn't include historical or teaching stories. The oceans are vast and unpredictable; they are not humans' natural element. Yet, they managed to hunt several species of whale to near extinction. How was this possible? [Michael Entity] Humans hunt, enslave, murder, and torture EACH OTHER on small scales and large scales. The fact that this can still occur, even with all that has come to be recorded and learned by your own species, does not negate your imagination, capacity for choice, and sentience. The fact that Humans can extend this violence and impose it upon other creatures, does not, in any way, negate their capacity for feeling or suffering, let alone their capacity for choice, imagination, and sentience. One of the primary motivating factors for Humans is Fear. One of the primary motivating factors for Cetacea is Love. In the same way that most Humans will gauge their options through a filter of fear, Cetacea tend to filter their options through Love. This means that their "lore" and teachings are rooted in trust, open-mindedness, affection, and innocence. Despite the fact that a Cetacean species may be hunted to the point of extinction, Cetacea will not give up the concept that there is hope for peaceful relations with every other species. In addition to this, their concepts of death are quite different from Humans', and their emphasis is on life and living moment to moment, rather than in a way that is entirely based in fear and preservation. Keep in mind that this is a group of Sentience who destroyed themselves and the habitable status of their original planet. They are simply not going to go down any path of choice that hints at war or fear. This is not to say they do not experience fear, or choose fear, but that they do it in other ways unrelated to survival. Every group of Sentience moves through cycles that could be described in terms of Overleaves, and for the past Century, Cetaceans have been in Spiritualist cycle, with Idealism before that. The new century cycle is one of Realism, and this may help temper some of the blind faith and naivety that has been a part of their societies for a couple of centuries. Humans have moved out of a cycle of Cynicism and into Idealism, tempered with Pragmatism. As for imagination, most of this you simply cannot see. To insist that one species use the tools, or the familiar media, that another species uses as a means to determine intelligence and imagination, is simply an invalid method of interpretation. [QUESTION]...Additionally, since karma is created when sentient species kill sentient species, how will the karma be balanced between the whale hunters and the whales? Or even the tuna fisherman and the dolphins? [Michael Entity] Karma is only generated if INTENSITY is generated on at least one side of the scenario and attached to the other. With Cetacea inherently forgiving and naive, very little Karma has been generated. In instances where Karma has been generated, it would be burned in the same way that you understand Ribbons to be burned among Humans. This would either be a reversal of the scenario in another life, or a creative form of balance that is focused on rescue and saving lives. In other words, for example, many Whale hunters from the past are now activists for their protection.

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks: July 2004] [BingeBuddie] I know this may seem like a very basic question, but I have had a hard time validating my role in essence. With so many factors to consider such as casting, ET influence, overleaves, and entity position, etc. is there any definitive way to determine your role? I’ve went with channels in the past, but that causes confusion because it’s difficult to tell what one input is as opposed to many inputs, such as Scholar having one and Artisan having 5. One channel Roles (Scholar, King, and Warrior) can concentrate in the midst of chaos right? So that's kind of what I try to look at. Is that a good indicator? MEntity: No, we would not suggest using your ability to concentrate as your determining factor. The symptom of concentration vs. distraction in terms of Input is another of the simplifications that can happen when first learning about a part of the teaching. While it is true that an Essence with a single input can usually focus more intently in the midst of chaos, the influence of Personality, imprinting, and situations can greatly affect that level of concentration. What we would suggest as part of your validation of your Role in Essence is this: First, study the Roles. It is important to truly comprehend each Role. This means moving beyond the stereotypes that are a part of the initial stage of learning. Next, it is important to understand the vital differences between Essence and Casting. You may discover that what you believed was inaccurate channeling is actually profoundly accurate to who you realize you are becoming (as you come into your own identity). Or you may discover that your self-determined Overleaves were highly inaccurate in your initial understanding and you now see that you are someone completely different after all. Never feel as if you must conclude who you are. Our system is designed to help you understand who you are, not complicate your self-perception. If you are thoroughly confused, pick a Role, pick your Overleaves, and begin “living with them.” You will begin to see what does and does not hold validity. I have an interest in true crime and was wondering if you have access to information about whether people who are accused of crimes are guilty, or the locations of missing people. I understand that some people claim to be psychics able to lead investigators to this kind of information. Is this a legitimate skill? Part of their life task or karma, for instance? Would it be possible for channel to learn the whereabouts of a missing child, such as Madeleine McCann, or whether a suspect is guilty? MEntity: We tend to only have access to details about crimes after the Karmic Ribbons are burned or in stasis. Karmic events tend to remain acutely localized among the fragments involved until there is time to process the experiences. We do not have access to individuals and their local data. We only have access to what is updated in the Akashic Records. Local psychics, however, can "read" more localized energies in ways that can be successfully interpreted as leads and insights. Most are not very accurate or skilled in these interpretations, but some are. We can sometimes find keys or lost objects if an updated record reveals a memory of recent placement of these objects. We can sometimes locate lost individuals if there is no Karmic dynamic obscuring our view. In the case in question, we cannot see details at this point. When a valid psychic is involved in this line of work, it tends to be related to their Life Task, and various other factors in their design.

It could then be said that PROPORTIONALLY speaking, the positions within one group of 343 is “connected” to each of the “same” positions within each group/side of 343.     Note from Janet: This is the content that was the standard introduction during the time Troy was offering Grand Cycle synopses as part of his services. I found this in a report dated February 5, 2013. A Grand Cycle is one trip as Essence from Tao through the 7 Planes of Physical, Astral, Causal, Akashic, Mental, Messianic, and Buddhic, returning to Tao. In truth, we never “leave” Tao, as each Plane is layered within each other like concentric circles, with the Physical Plane as the densest and at the center, within the Astral, which is within the Causal, and so on, with Tao encompassing all of these. Each Grand Cycle is its own dance through time and space as an individual Essence who chooses a Role, an Entity, an Essence Twin, etc. Each Grand Cycle can be a completely different Role, Entity, Essence Twin, and so on. Think of a Grand Cycle as one giant lifetime for your Essence as a ROLE, and your Role creates a new Personality as lifetimes within that. Essence and Role are often used interchangeably, but Essence chooses a ROLE, and that Role can change when in a new Grand Cycle, but Essence remains. Though one can have a multitude of Grand Cycles, each one is separate and does not bleed into any other. There is no significant influence among them. However, because Essence still has a memory and consistency, it will carry that experience forward into creating and setting up a new Grand Cycle. Because time can only be measured relative to one’s position within a planetary system, there is no way to really describe when your past Grand Cycles might have been, but if it is possible, Michael will mention it. Other planetary systems and species of your previous Grand Cycles will most likely be completely unknown to us as Humans. Knowing your history as Essence may not make a big difference in your understanding of who you are in your current life, but it can help you to consider the vastness of the universe, and the beauty of the incarnational process. Most Humans have an average of 3 Grand Cycles.

MEntity: Cadre 2, Entity 3 would have 1033 fragments and 1043 Casting Positions with 182 fragment cycled off and 599 currently extant. This entity is comprised of every Role and has 10 Wild Cards. A defining characteristic for this entity is that these members are not easily defined. It could be said that there is a theme of CHAOTIC COHESION among these fragments, which shows up in both the personal life and across lifetimes in terms of tasks. Chaos is not a state from which these members shy away from, but it is a state that is often mined for beautiful cohesion, creativity, and change. We might describe this Entity as THE REVOLUTIONARIES.

[M_Entity] It was used as torture as well as mating, sexual stimulation between same sexes, and birthing. The more mystical meanings began to become associated with this dance many years past its true origins. [Leela] Torture?! [M_Entity] Yes, sexual forms of taunting were used to punish males. The dancing you recognize today could be said to be a refined version of its origins, with a focus on the more spiritual aspects as it relates to images ranging from Skakti to servants of pleasure. It has always been a Moving Centered/Intellectual Part form of dancing, as it is focused entirely on control, balance, isolation, and anticipation. Or an Intellectually Centered/Moving Part form of dancing. Those who of either centering are usually drawn strongly to it. It is less about the history that draws the fragments who practice it, as it is about the resonance within the body and the ensuing resonance with the Energy of the physical plane. For most fragments who begin practice this form of meditation, blockages within the lower chakras and the Higher Moving Center can tend to be “cleared” up, releasing a storehouse of erratic energy at first, then slowly settling into the balance it naturally would have.

There is no other solution for depression except in the asking for, acceptance of, and openness to help. Depression is usually the result of severe neglect from sources expected to be foundations for that fragment. In nearly all cases we have seen, there is a consistent belief that the fragment is utterly alone, which is linked directly to the removal of or lack of a profound source within that life. Depression is Grief without Truth. Grief is the healing of Truths realized, but depression is the lack of realizing those truths. Although herbal and synthetic substances can balance the chemical makeup of the brain to allow other thought processes, they are only temporary tools. The fragment must learn to reevaluate where in the life a true source can be counted on, namely the self, which can then be extended from there. This reevaluation requires outside support, though, and it is not a weakness to allow strong compassion and empathy to come into the life when depressed. We will clarify “source” here as meaning anything that fragment has labeled consciously or unconsciously as being an archetypal, literal, or symbolic Mother or Father. Though this topic can be delved into far more, this is a relevant and appropriate response for now.

[Michael_Entity] Is your final question about magnetic therapies or about the effects of your electronic society? [upstaate] both [Michael_Entity] We will respond to both, then. In response to the question of whether these energies are harmful to the human body, we would say that they are, though on fairly low levels and not any more harmful than the effects of your own Sun. In fact, we would say that certain rays of your Sun are more harmful than most electronic systems in which you must move. And while we do not trivialize the question, we would also say that most individual belief systems are even more harmful to the body than the Sun, diet, or Electronic influences. We include that statement merely as a means to put the term “harmful” into perspective. We have seen no validity to the use of magnets as treatments or preventions against electronic influences, but this is because the concept is limited at this point in development. The theories are flawed. The human body is highly adaptable, which is why it was chosen by your sentience. The bombardment of energy within a technological society is usually proportional to the adaptability of the body. The most detrimental aspect of your technological progress isn’t found in the “waves”, but in the difficulty adapting to the glut of information that is accessible to you. The human psyche has not adapted well to the amount of information and input that is available. This is not to say that it will not adapt, but if there is an effect of detriment to the human, it is on the psyche, not the physical body. Of the energies you described earlier in your question, “microwaves” are the only energies we have seen to have an immediate and long-term effect on the physical body. The use of a microwave for cooking food appears to destroy nutritional value and suppress the Pineal Gland’s function. [Tibtyc] Where does this put the Internet? [Michael_Entity] Ironically, what has come to be known as the Internet, with its immediate access to massive amounts of information, has the greatest potential for implementing the adaptation of the human psyche. This is because the Internet, as it becomes available to the average person, will eventually encourage the refinement of the individual’s search for information. [upstaate] so, are we what we think or believe then, and only that? [Michael_Entity] It is more than a cliché to say that you are what you think. We would agree with that.

    This content originated in an Energy Report for mid-March, 2000, and was located in the old Yahoo group. Within the Energy Report, Michael digressed to explain annual Overleaves. Michael: We will digress for a moment, but we feel this will help round out the understanding of how a year progresses through the collective Overleaves. First, the Role will remain consistent throughout that year (or block of time asked about). Though we suggest "checking in" around the middle of the year for an update on any shifts in collective Overleaves, it is "safe" to view the year in light of the Overleaves shared at the beginning of that year. The Role then we say remains the same and has to do with the general contexts of all events that year. This includes how your own actions and being contribute to this or gain from others. The Centering is the most obvious on a personal scale with its PART being the most fluctuating of all the Overleaves for the year, adjusting to help accommodate the development of collective choices. For instance, this year will find you moving back through the higher parts of the Instinctive as the rest of the year unfolds, with some points being in the lower parts. We remind you that we say "higher" and "lower" only out of convenience, not as a truth. If the year is divided into seasons, it can also be said the year is moved through in terms of "seasons" in the Overleaves. Though all Overleaves will have their effects throughout the year, there will times of emphasis. The GOAL is tended to for the year to set things in motion, continuing throughout the year, but the emphasis being in the first three months. All questions about where you fit into the collective goal, if you choose to explore your part in that, will be raised in the first three months. Questions about what you will do with your life, what you will commit to for yourself, what is important to you, where you will work, what you will do for money, etc. – these are all questioned in light of the Goal for the year. This is not to say these questions do not rise at other times but that they are most emphasized in terms of where you are in your world in the beginning months. If there are no satisfactory answers found then, of course it will stem throughout the year as the Goal continues. This time frame is where the individual Parallel shifts occur the strongest, emphasizing what YOU are going to do with "your" future. The MODE begins in late March through June, wherein your most intimate relationships get an examination through the Mode for the year. Regardless of your Mode, there will be a certain amount of emphasis or questioning based on the collective Mode. Considering this year's Mode, relationships will get a boost of enthusiasm and realization of just what it is that you are gaining and learning about yourself from them, or they will be examined in light of your possibly losing your identity in “other.” If you have lost boundaries, become confused and invested in another without clarity, feeling attached and needy, you will see this glaringly in the next few months. The same will happen in terms of your social circles and family, along with where you place your energy in terms of exchange for security, meaning your job, your career, your support for another who is supporting you financially. All forms of relationship will come under the light of the Mode, Passion. This time frame is also when most Community Nexus occur. This is when larger groups of people who share similar vision and potential based on decisions and choices will merge or diverge in their parallels. Though the Mode and Goal will continue in its effects throughout the year, and though the Attitude has played its definite part, when late June comes around you will shift more emphasis on the Attitude, your personal perceptions of the life as you have come to understand it this year. This emphasis lasts from June through September. The CHIEF FEATURES, while technically not Overleaves, come under more emphasis and examination as the year closes. From late September through December all that has passed comes under examination in light of your fears, what ended up blocking you from your successes, relationships, and truths. Since this is a collective Chief Feature, your examination will be explored in terms of a larger perspective, one that includes what was happening that year in the world, in your world as a result of other's choices and your reactions to them, etc. This is when the major Global Nexus occurs because this is when you can see more clearly what the world as a whole fears and whether you fit into that or not, moving your consciousness magnetically into alignment with others who are shifting similarly. This all being said, this time marks the beginning of your emphasis on community, relationships, who you love and who you have in your world that is important to you. It is also a time to question and discover whether you are passionate about your work, where you are investing your energy. In light of this examination, if you can see you are in the positive pole, +self actualization, you will usually find where you are to be healthy, fulfilling, and contributing to your life path in terms of your own True Personality. If you find your answers being that you have lost boundaries, that you have "lost yourself" in your work, in your relationships, that you have become -Identified (meaning you no longer have a differentiation between what you are gathering about yourself, but that the work or relationship IS yourself), then we suggest taking measures to step back from and release the energetic investment in that person or work that brought you to the point where you can longer feel free. This can be done simply through making a conscious acknowledgement that "I am not my job, it is helping me take care of me, and that is loving, it is not a reflection of my worth," or "I am not my husband/wife/lover, they are free and so am I; I choose to be here." These are generic phrases that we feel you can alter and make your own. They are merely to point to the simplicity that it would take for you to free yourself, if you have weighted yourself down by losing your reasons, intentions, and self in your pursuits. Your final questions might be to ask, "What was my original motivation for being here? Have I gathered that, or did I learn something more/different?" We want to point out that for those of you who are in relationships or work that is not making you "happy," this does not necessarily mean you are in the "wrong place" or that you are in the negative poles of Passion. This can sometimes simply mean you have lost your point of reference, lost your compass that lead you there in the first place. If, after examination, you cannot see the benefit you originally sought, or are actually gaining but in contempt of, then we suggest you makes some changes. Some of you are simply in contempt of what it is you originally sought, falling into Chief Feature to tell you the 'grass is greener' elsewhere, distracting you from the actual life force you are gaining from the exchanges. Chief Feature is subtle. It would do you all well to remind yourselves that when you are in times of questioning, Chief Feature finds its greatest disguises. Question from every angle, if you choose to know your truths. What is sometimes most obvious is only the mask of Chief Feature glittering.

    This material was obtained by Geraldine on July 1, 2013. How many Harmonies does our Design have? Within the Design, how many Spheres have cycled off or nearly so? ... I've calculated that a Harmony is about 1.64 billion. [MEntity] Our Design is a full 7 Harmonies of over 12 billion Fragments. The cycling off process is not as orderly as the arrival process, so there are no complete Spheres cycled off, in terms of sequential or mathematical organization, but in terms of quantifying the number of cycled off, this would be approximately 6,000,000,000. Nearly all fragments who can incarnate have been incarnating. A Harmony, by the way, is approximately 1.8 billion fragments.

MEntity: There is validity here. Cadre One, Entity One originally had the Agreements with the fragment known as Terri, another of our channels, but this was "passed on" to Otterly on an Essence level since it fit into his "scheme of things" anyway. This did not abdicate any of the Agreements from that point on, once the forum was there for exchange. The reason for your dreaming of the incarnating as a group is in the simple fact that a great deal of your Entity were in highly opposing sides of a few recent wars in history, creating an apparent "rift" through it. Though many from your Entity are Old Souls, there are still a great deal of Warriors with "grudges" and karma to manage. Those of you gathering on the TV2K list are without this particular "burden." Yours is a more philanthropic karmic atmosphere, if there is any Karma shared at all. Most of what is shared is the encouragement of recognizing Support Group positions in each other, or encouraging this to be felt in the individual life. The more creative portions of Entity One (Artisan influenced) are involved in TrueView, as the more aggressive, thrusting, protective (Warrior influences) are handling their processes more individualistically. Terri's continued Agreements with this process involve contact with us, along with playing a Support Position of Compassion. Your own Agreements, Mary, involve resolving conflicting concepts, distilling them to a commonality. This fuels your curiosity. ... <Anne> Hello Michael, can you tell me which wars in particular caused the rift in Cadre one Entity one? MEntity: The theme has lasted through the World Wars, One and Two, and into Vietnam. There are several late level Mature Souls in Entity One still tending to lessons of breaking down emotional barriers. Even some of your early Old are distracted with this. Those of you seeming to have more of a focus on community and support have grasped your lessons of emotional isolation and are seeking your Entity Mates. We will add that the wars themselves did not cause the rift, but rather the creative placements of many of your Entity members on "opposing" sides. Many of the more Warrior-influenced thought this would be a great theme to explore and bring to the Cadre. Entity One has an overall theme in focusing on the evolution of the "fine arts," but this is being accomplished by those who have known the graphic brutality of Physical existence.     [Excerpt from a POF on April 6, 2012] You’ve mentioned elsewhere that two people are not in the exact same parallel unless they are in physical contact with each other. If that is the case, can you elaborate some on how people can communicate across parallels (for example, in the case of this chat), and/or what people are sensing when they see, for example, someone across the room? [MEntity] In response to the first question, we would say that we probably meant "reality," not "parallel," though these terms are often interchangeable. Two people can be quite close and still have quite different realities, but if they are in contact, they are in the same parallel. The extent to which one is sharing layers or reality with another is the extent to which one is sharing the depths of a parallel, as well. This chat is still physical contact, and there are a multitude of ways for physical contact to occur; it is not limited to touch, but to the fabric of that plane. The very basic default of shared reality is physical space, and if you are sharing that, you are probably in the same parallel. However, that same person may be from a completely different emotional or intellectual reality, and never share that space with you.     [Excerpt from Ask Michael: April 2014] [Jana_K] Hello Michael, could you please talk about how Flow gets itself into positive poles through sliding to other Goals? Or how Flow can generally benefit from sliding to each of the different goals? [MEntity] Jana, Assimilative Overleaves almost always require the use of another Axis to move to its own Positive Pole. Though it is possible for the Neutral to move within itself, it is simply, nearly impossible. In the same way that any other Overleaf must tend toward the Positive Pole of its partner on an Axis as a way to return to its own, the Assimilative depends on this same process. Though the Assimilative Overleaves have access to the entire range of Overleaves in its category, habits do tend to form in regard to the particular challenges and interests that the Personality is developing for that lifetime. So one person's Flow may gravitate toward Growth as its means of return to a Positive Pole, and to the Inspiration Axis in general, while another may gravitate toward Acceptance, or the Expression Axis, as its means of return. In that regard, it is quite helpful for those in Flow to look at the life in terms of what may be a pattern for experiences at any given time. There will larger arcs and smaller arcs of experiences, so this would need to be considered, as well, but one can usually tell if the current emphasis is on a larger or smaller arc. So if your life patterns tend to be emphasizing a struggle with meaning, value, reflection and projection (inspiration), then your Flow would want to move to Growth or Re-evaluation as a means of return to Freedom. If your life patterns tend to be emphasizing a struggle with contribution, participation, effectiveness, and movement, then you would likely want to move your Flow to Dominance or Submission. If your life patterns tend to be emphasizing struggles with making confident choices, blockages to intimacy, feeling present, and/or making a difference, then your Flow might want to move toward the Expression Axis as a means of return to its Positive Pole. The above are generic phrases to reference those Axes, and should not be considered definitive. We wished only to give examples for how one might assess where Flow may consciously or subconsciously move when in light of particular patterns in the life. The more consciously one can associate the patterns of the life with various key elements of an Axis, the more consciously one in Flow can then use the Positive Pole of one of those Goals to then help return to Flow's own Positive Pole.

    [Excerpt from TT: 2003-04-25] I’m not sure what you mean here: “Your Attitude is what either makes or breaks your long-term, most intimate relationships, but it is also the Overleaf most quickly used to avoid that very same potential intimacy.” [Troy] Your Attitude is the Overleaf that is most directly linked to your Chief Feature, and it is also the Overleaf that deals with your “truths”, so, basically, you will find that the people you remain (willingly) with the longest in your life are those who share your Fears and Truths. When you bond on those levels of Personality, the bond can be deep and long-term, but those very Fears and Truths can be what actually keep you from entirely bonding, or to reject that bond as the possibilities become more obvious, creating a push/pull dynamic. The latter description is used in a lot of character relationships in movies and TV as they love/hate each other and resolve their fears/truths. It’s the dance of Attitudes.

    [From TT: POF session 2013-04-01] [Oscar] Hey Michael =) I think it has been channeled that the person and life of Jesus Christ as we know it (from the Bible and other stories) is an amalgam of several persons/stories. I would like to know which persons and/or stories, and how they were amalgamated into the stories which are in the Bible. I'd like to use my allotted time for this. [MEntity] We have two responses for this: limiting the event to the validity of the man who was Jesus, stories were spread and extrapolated and retold in ways that incorporated fantasy, hearsay, and eagerness to claim witness to significant events. It was not so much that there were any specific people that could be isolated as reference, but that, like any popular event, the stories will grow with embellishment over time. [MEntity] In addition to these embellishments was an overlapping, or imposing, of previous stories already known, but now attributed to a more personal icon. Those stories were of Osiris, already circulating strongly in the cultures of the time, and used to make sense of the evolving importance placed on this Manifestation. [MEntity] Imagine someone in your time (named "Steve") having a profound message, having it cause a tremendous upset and uproar, but your never really having had any way to meet this person. You hear stories that he can fly, that he can lift great weights, and that he had a hidden identity. The lore of Superman, previously enjoyed only as fiction and fun, now comes to be attributed to this actual figure. [MEntity] So the lore of Superman comes to be the lore of Steve. [MEntity] The lore of Osiris became the lore of Jesus. [Oscar] So what was the real story of his life? [MEntity] Most of the humble beginnings are valid, except for the virgin birth, of course, and the growing conflict within regarding the concept of innocence and sin, prompted by his mother's influence and teaching. [MEntity] Being amid the poverty and suffering while watching divisions grow in society that seemed geared toward punishing and oppressing the poor, or invoking wars among them, the notion of the simple solution of "love one another" came to be upheld as his mission to secure. [MEntity] This was not sappy, or without details, but a serious attempt to encourage responsibility for one another, not just the self, or those similar to self. [MEntity] Over his life, as greater conflict grew within over these anomalies of behavior among people, he turned to the influences of his parents' who were part of the Essene communities of the time. [MEntity] Through his devotion of study and mastery of the Essene school of thought, along with the teachings of his parents', his empathy and compassion was brought to extreme levels of sensitivity. This extended to animals, and the body, and not just to fellow Humans, hence the strict vegetarian diet, regular fasting, and meditation. [MEntity] The Essene were not as strict against the killing of animals for food until Jesus entered for study, so we know this influence was left in ways that were adapted further by later students. [MEntity] The difficulty with hosting an Infinite Soul is that, despite all of the various experiences and challenges that the Personality and Essence take on in the journey to understand, the Logos/Pathos/Ethos ends up as such simplicity that it seems an easy, obvious, and accessible concept for the host to spread as far and as wide as possible. [MEntity] The teaching of Jesus, then, in its simplicity, gave him some amount of confidence and courage. It was not complicated to him. And because he slowly grew to surround himself with those who practiced the teaching, it became increasingly difficult to comprehend the growing hatred for him. [MEntity] He decided to take on great powers beyond him for the sake of his message, and was willing to deal with the consequences, presuming innocently that there would come a realization, a connection, a resonance to his own suffering, if it came to that, because he had so easily grasped the empathy for others' suffering. [MEntity] This is how the myth for his "dying for our sins" came to be. He was willing to suffer so that empathy could be generated, but not for the sake of taking on the burden of "sin" for eternity. [Oscar] What were those great powers? [MEntity] He knew that animals had no choice, no voice to Humans, but that he could endure more and voice that suffering in ways that could be heard, trusting in the humanity at the core of every human. [MEntity] "Great powers," as in the great authorities at the time. [Oscar] ah ok [MEntity] For the most part, his life was spent only trying to generate empathy, for animals, for the body/self, and for each other. This was at the heart of his "love one another, " and his solution to warring, poverty, and social injustices. [MEntity] Keep in mind that empathy was a profound concept at the time, among a Baby Soul mindset. Though this shift was working toward Young, the Logos/Pathos/Ethos will never aim low, since it is based in truth, love, energy. It cannot be. So while empathy may be seem to be well outside of the range of the Baby and Young for implementation, it is not. No Logos, Ethos, or Pathos is beyond any Soul Age for comprehension and application in some way. [MEntity] For the most part, his life was spent only trying to generate empathy, for animals, for the body/self, and for each other. This was at the heart of his "love one another, " and his solution to warring, poverty, and social injustices. [MEntity] The start of the hosting of the Infinite Soul began as he moved through the region of Judea, drawing the crowds that were unprecedented. [MEntity] We can continue to break down the life of the individual fragement's life into further details in other exchanges. Our response here was from a broader perspective of key elements, but for the most part, he had a "normal" life, except that his consciousness would not allow for him to look the other way, to ignore injustices, or to presume that intentional or unconscious causes of suffering was an acceptable part of life. [Oscar] What was the manner of Jesus' death and at what age did he die? [MEntity] Most versions of this fragment died naturally in his 50's and 60's after retreating back to studies, sanctuary, and safety with the Essene, raising a family, and fulfilling all Internal Monads. The deaths were fairly consistently that of age-related slowing of the body and its functions. [MEntity] Some died from complications of wounding, but most did not. [Oscar] Did he travel abroad, or stay in the Palestine area? [MEntity] His travel was fairly limited and did not include any travel abroad. [MEntity] Representatives who felt inclined to pose as him, or to represent his teachings, did travel as a means to help spread the teaching.

    [Excerpt from TT: 2009-06-14] [Question] Back to basics 101 – I need a refresher on how to break the hold of the negative pole of Flow – Stagnation/Inertia. Would Michael offer some practical suggestions on dealing with this problem when it is hard just to do/start anything? I hope this is general enough – dealing with the negative pole of Flow. ( And yes, I see NCF playing a role in this as well, :) ) I think I’m stuck smelling the roses in only one place. [Michael Entity] One of the most effective ways of breaking Inertia is to surrender to it. This may seem counter to the intent, but one of the things that keeps a person locked in Inertia is the sense of “running in place,” or “doing a lot of nothing.” When one can surrender to the gravity that seems to keep one in place, the footing can be regained, or the sense of productivity and fulfillment can be regained. The point of having a Goal of Flow is to learn how to navigate within the currents that are natural to the life, and often those currents swirl, so to speak, or slow, or eddy. One of the greatest challenges for those in Flow is to overcome the pressure to show evidence and justification for their presence. When a fragment chooses Flow as a Goal, it is because there is an interest in the nuances and subtleties of existence and this increases the sensitivity of the Personality. This sensitivity is heightened so as to develop an intuitive grasp of the life and its natural flow, much like one might have when navigating a boat, skateboard, or other vehicle of momentum that pulls all of the senses together to calculate navigation without having to over analyze. However, this sensitivity then leads to an awareness of all of the subtleties of one’s “insides,” so to speak, so all of the areas within oneself that are not flowing freely are felt, too. [Comment] perhaps that is part of the problem – a feeling that the natural flow is being blocked and feeling uncomfortable with that and wanting to ‘flow’ again – and not quite seeing how to get back there. [Michael Entity] Often, the Personality will turn to external environments for the solution to the lack of freedom within. Flowing externally and can help the flow, internally, but often it can take internal adjustments, as well. Both the internal and external are connected, and one can help the other, but when one is neglected over the other, it can cause the sense of inertia, no matter how productive and free the life can seem in one area over the other. One of the most effective ways we’ve seen our students understand the concept of FLOW is to set alongside it the concept of PERMISSION. When one feels the life is not flowing, internally or externally, it can help to ask where one has limited his or her sense of Permission. And often that permission is the barrier to the very simple and freeing experience of Relaxation. To relax. To embrace. To allow. To Be. Without apology or proof. We have more to say about this, especially in terms of how the negative pole can be shifted by using the positive pole of the other Goals, but we will elaborate on that in other sessions.

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks: November 2013] [MEntity] For all of the Overleaves, try this for understanding the differences between how they manifest in younger Soul Ages versus older Soul Ages: Add SELF- to the Positive or Negative Pole of the term. For instance, in Discrimination, the Negative Pole of Rejection is more often SELF-Rejection for the Old Soul. The Goal of Acceptance is more about SELF-Acceptance. CAUTION Mode can fall into SELF-Phobia, or the Stoic into SELF-Resignation. And so on. This is not always a clear differentiation, but it can help.

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks: November 2013] [Connor] Hello Michael. This is a question I've run into a couple times which has not been clarified to date, as far as I know. Can Transcendental Souls create karma? An example of Muhummad comes to mind, whose teachings didn't quite 'get across'. [MEntity] Any fragment who is incarnated can create Karma. It is always a gamble. However, by the time one has come to be Transcendental, the requirements necessary for the formation of a Ribbon or Ribbons would be highly unlikely. Karma can be generated without Ribbons. It is the Ribbons that are evaded, not the Karma. [Connor] Ah. Still learning to differentiate the two. [MEntity] Karma is imbalance generated by intensity of interference of choice. This almost always generates a Ribbon. A Ribbon is the unattended necessity for balance that is caused by the imbalance. Older Souls and beyond in Soul Age tend not to generate Ribbons because they can process any imbalance quite rapidly, and it is rarely relative to any Physical Plane requirements for balance. [Connor] So then the fragment who killed Gandhi, for example, would not have generated a ribbon, despite the act of murder? (if time allows) [MEntity] For example, a Transcendental Soul may still find himself distracted with the pleasures of the Physical Plane, as was Mahatma Gandhi, and generate some Karma because of some irresponsible choices that create imbalances between himself and others. There was no interference of choice in terms of the Physical Plane, but there was neglect and indulgences that created imbalances in the Emotional and Intellectual realms. These were then balanced in those realms, such as through dreams or after the life. [Connor] Cool. [MEntity] Dying is wholly understood and known to be built into the life of a Transcendental Soul. It is expected. The death is often orchestrated through Agreements in a way that would bring about the changes that the life may not have been able to generate. Karma *could* be generated through the murder of a Transcendental Soul, but it has yet to be done. This is because there is simply no sense of intensity or violation to generate the imbalance necessary.

    [Excerpt from The Roles for Mature and Old Souls (Updated)] MATURE PRIESTS Mature Priests tend to find themselves struggling between HAVING POWER and BEING EMPOWERED. The Young Priest has discovered the value of power and control and seeks to use this at any cost to deliver compassion or to fulfill zeal. As the Young Priest evolves, so does the relationship with Power so that it is not a force for them to capture, wield, and impose, but is a force that is shared, nurtured, and invited. Mature Priests realize that Power is not unique and sacred to them in a way that must be protected, guarded, and reserved for their own ideals, but is a resource that can be brought out of others to help create a matrix of empowerment that many can use to effect and affect change. The Mature Priest must reconcile this relinquishing of individual Power for the sake of shared Empowerment. This can come as a relief to many Priests who thought they had to "do it alone," or save the world, or rescue the lives of loved ones, etc. There can also come a great resistance to this as the Mature Priest has been in control for so long, or at least thought she was. This resistance is usually met with a breakthrough when the Priest has a pivotal life where she is suddenly dependent upon the Empowerment of others for her own Power. In other words, the Priest experiences receiving the generosity and willingness of others to support a cause rather than she having to push or impose or force an ideal upon others. Eventually, reconciliation comes for the Priest when she learns that inviting and harnessing the willpower of others is more pleasantly powerful than to merely control and impose power over others as a way fulfill ideals. OLD PRIESTS The Old Priest is now all about Being Empowered. The Old Priest can no longer direct you, rescue you, save you, or push you toward what is best for you, or an ideal, or a great cause. She cannot function without your participation. Though the Old Priest may sometimes revert to the use of Power over others, it is almost vital for them to share in power, to Be Empowered, or they feel they cannot affect or effect change in any way. It is probably more devastating to the Old Priest to see and experience a lack of Empowerment in the self or in others, than to any other Role. It is physically painful for the Old Priest to watch a life or love or even the self not nurture personal power to bring about desired changes. This can sometimes trigger them to revert to old methods of using Power and come across as pushy, bossy, imposing, meddling, and manipulative. This is always a sign for the Old Priest to look at how to nurture the sharing of power rather than being the only one having power. Being the only one with power does nothing for the Old Priest. It is empty and breeds futility. The Old Priest loses almost all interest in TELLING others where they are going, or who they are, or how they are, and finds she is deeply interested in helping others to REMEMBER where they are going, remember who they are, and to remember how they got there.

    [Extracted from MMW: The Health of your Emotional Center] MEntity: Today we are asked to explore the nature, function, and symptoms of health for the Emotional Center. The Poles of this Center are the Positive Pole of Perception and the Negative Pole of Sentimentality. PERCEPTION is the capacity to rise beyond the limitations of Time, Space, Logic, and comprehend the essence or Essence of the self, others, or an event. SENTIMENTALITY is when one becomes attached to the limitations of Time, Space, Logic, as these exist symbolically as representations of the past or future. The health of the Emotional Center can most easily be seen in where one is in terms of Self-Love (self-acceptance), where one is in terms of the state of Relationships, and your use or rejection of Trust. The cumulative effects of the health of the Emotional Center can be seen overall in how Happy one is. It is important to understand the nature of Happiness, then. Happiness is not a forced or pursued state. It is a natural state that comes from allowing room for more than Happiness without rejecting Happiness. In other words, to be Happy means allowing room for being Unhappy. This may seem contradictory, but Happiness is a spectrum, a wide range of experiences. Happiness is an emotional stability that runs through all experiences so that sadness is ok, disappointment is ok, anger is ok, struggle is ok, setbacks are ok, not because they are easy, but because they have nothing to do with your capacity for Happiness. There are many who suffer and will tell you that they are Happy. This is not because they concede to or deny suffering, but because Happiness is HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCES. Your experiences do not determine your Happiness. You do. There are two methods of use of your Emotional Center: TRUST and REJECTION. Happiness is possible in the worst of situations because you Trust. You bypass Logic, Time, and Space, and you navigate intuitively and with responsibility for what you often describe as your Feelings. Experiences do not determine your Feelings. Feelings determine your Experiences. When you are faced with challenges, differences, struggles, internally or externally, these are no different from weather. If it rains on 10 people you will find a range of interpretation for what that rain means and how it was navigated because of the health of the Emotional Center. For some it was just another bad thing to happen to them because they feel that bad things just happen to them. For some it will be a nice surprise that brings laughs and play because they do not mind surprises that inconvenience them. For some it will barely be noticed because they are prepared and knew that it would rain and they know that rain happens. It's not personal. None of these scenarios are right or wrong. It rained. It happened. But it was not the rain that determined the quality of experience. It was the difference between Trust and Rejection, or the difference between Perception and Sentimentality. This dance is true of everything you experience. If you are attached to a range of static symbols in your life, you will likely navigate Emotionally with Sentimentality and Rejection. It will be a process of constantly comparing against the system of symbols you have developed, and then rejecting that which does not comply to that set of symbols or counters that set of symbols. CLEARER STATEMENT: or rejecting that which counters that set of symbols. Your Emotional Center is how you experience Time. Perception frees you from the limitations of Time, and Sentimentality locks you in Time. In the same way that Happiness includes Unhappiness, so does Perception include Sentimentality. Perception allows room for the symbols, for the meaning that you develop as an emotional language that bypasses logic. However, Sentimentality locks down the symbols in time while Perception allows them to grow, expand, be replaced, updated, etc. You then carry with you a realm of living symbols that are not static, but are guides and informers. This means that the rain now has a range of interpretation, not just one or two. The wider your range of interpretation, your range of Perception, the greater your capacity to Trust. Trust is the process of using experience to guide you, not just defend or protect you. Trust frees your symbols to live with you, not against you or for you. For example, instead of Rain being your symbol for "the universe is always out to get me," it comes alive with a new range of surprise, neutrality, delight, awe, playfulness. If someone does not smile back at you when you smile, this may be symbolic of rudeness, specific rejection of you, a pointed attempt to undermine your good day, etc. If you are attached to that symbolism, a lack of returned smile can ruin your day. But if you Trust and free your symbols to expand, live, breathe, and grow, your Emotional Center can add that someone may not have noticed, someone may have his own insecurities, someone may have been daydreaming, someone may not be used to someone smiling, etc. All of you have an entire library of Symbols like this. They are all in your Emotional Center. And this Center is what you use when you navigate where there is no Logic, like intimacy, relationships, life, love, and self-love. This is the only Center capable of Rejection and experiencing Rejection. The Emotional Center is the Personality's closest relationship/path to Essence. When there is Essence Recognition, it is the Emotional Center. This is because it does not require logic, reason, or proof. It simply "knows," Perceives. The Higher Centers are how Essence stays connected to the Personality and Body, even when rejected, but the Emotional Center is how the Body and Personality embrace or reject Essence. The only True Emotional Pain is Rejection. Rejection is defense against Time, against Experience, and against Love, against Essence. Rejection is the only way to avoid Essence, not only in yourself but in others. And it is painful. Not only to you, but to Essence. Rejection is one of a very few experiences of pain that Essence can feel. When you reject each other, reject yourselves, reject your Essence, the cascading effects of pain are astounding. We share all of the above because it is important to note all of these elements when looking at the health of your Emotional Center. We will ask you a set of questions now. Answer these as best you can. Organize your responses relative to the questions to help our channel convey these to us. Wait for our set of questions to be posed in their entirety before responding. A - ON A SCALE FROM 1 to 5, with 1 being NEVER and 5 being ALWAYS, how would you rate your attachment to symbols. B - ON A SCALE BETWEEN 1 and 5, with 1 being PAINFUL and 5 being PLAYFUL, where would you say you are in the health of your most dominant Relationships? [Participant responses omitted] ClaireC: "Always" is confusing. MEntity: Because feelings are not logical, we used "always" in terms of Emotions. One who is at extreme ends of the spectrum will feel they "always" are the ones doing the rejecting, or they are "always" the one being rejected. Between the two extremes would be your interpretation of degrees. 2 Mostly Rejecting, 3 Sometimes Both, 4 Mostly Rejected. [Participant responses omitted] MEntity: The above is a quick way to check in with yourself as to the truth of where you are in your use of the Emotional Center. It is a subjective truth, but it is a truth, nonetheless, and you may often find that your assessment shows your health to be better than expected, especially when going through a difficult or challenging conflict. Reminding yourself of the truth is a way to bring back Trust and Perception. This is more important than you may realize. Because the Emotional Center does not know the truth. It does not think. It cannot make proper decisions or choices. It can only "feel" and feelings are never the truth. One can make decisions and choices when led by Emotions, but Emotional Centering cannot factor in consequences. It only "knows" in terms of relating or not. The greater your range of relating, the greater your range of trust and perception. The more reduced and restricted your range of relating, the more reduced and restricted your trust and perception. In other words, you need not have logic and reason to Love. You can navigate your world based on what makes you feel happy and gravitate toward that which you relate, and that is how Emotions work well. The Emotional Center is intelligent about the art of Relating, but other Centers are better equipped for navigating beyond that, particularly in terms of logistics, decisions, and choices. You can let your Emotions inform you about how you feel, but your CHOICES need not be guided only by what feels good vs feels bad. For example: the Emotional Center may say "as long as we have Love, we can do anything" and this is true up to only a very specific point. You must also have food, shelter, clothing, negotiation skills, communication skills, etc. You may need a plan, you may need to work, you may need energy, creativity, etc. Love is the fuel of universes, but if you would like to experience this while in a body, you must allow your other Centers to do their work. When one is led only by Emotions, with choices and decisions only coming in terms of feelings, life is often quite exhausting, depressing, and disorienting. The Emotional Center, for instance, does not "like to work." Those who have the more difficult time of choosing to work just for the income that could then be used for further expansion of choices are usually of Emotional Centering. "But I don't like to work" is not a proper form of choice or decision. It is valid to make one's decision and choices based on this, but it is not proper in that it does not consider consequences. This is why a self-assessment at times can help to break one out of the blind spots of the Emotions, of your attachment to symbols, of comparing everything to your library of symbols, of your attachment to a moment in time, free you from navigating aimlessly based in only feeling. To know when you are being led by Emotions in your choices and decisions, it is often a trigger that you may be thinking or saying: I LIKE THIS, I LOVE THIS, I DON'T LIKE THIS, I HATE THAT. The vocabulary of the Emotional Center is Like, Love, Dislike and Hate. When you catch yourself choosing and deciding based on this, consider if it is necessary for consequences to be considered. For example: "I hate when it rains" is likely quite inconsequential. It may be inconvenient, but your like or dislike only tells you what you feel about rain. But "I hate to work" can have consequences and should be a process of choice that is not dictated by Emotions. It is okay to continue to hate work, but you may have to still do the work. And this is also how Essence Recognition works. When you are in conflict with another person, challenged in your relationship, it can be vital for you to generate a corridor for your Essences to reach one another if your Personalities cannot. When the Emotional Center is opened to recognize that there is a soul in another person, even in the most despicable of people and even in those who seek to harm you, Essence Recognition is the only way that there will be evolution beyond. You may carry on despising the person and even hating them, or even fearing them, but open that corridor for Essence to connect to the Essence of the other person. Not only does this free you from Sentimentality and Rejection, but it brings an energy to the exchange that makes a difference when you cannot. As you can see in current politics, when Emotions lead the way, chaos can ensue because consequences are not being considered.

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks: February 2009] [sandy] I recently read some information about a previously unmentioned TS. Could Michael elaborate on what a TS is and how they manifest? Also if they don’t mind could Michael tell us again who the TS’s have been? [Michael Entity] A Transcendental Soul is our way of describing an incarnation of one fragment representing the collective knowledge of its entire cycled-off Entity. They “manifest” in the same way that any other fragment incarnates, with a birth , internal monads, life, etc. However, they are free from any Karmic Ribbons, though not free from Self-Karmic explorations, since Personality and imprinting is still involved. We have described through our channels about the “manifestation” of the Transcendental Soul, and by this we describe the individual’s realization of that direct connection to his or her Entity on some significant level. However, this “manifestation” is not much different from any of you realizing your own Essence and “manifesting” this. It is not a magical or specifically elaborate ordeal, but it does change the nature of the life to a great degree. [Geraldine] You’ve also stated that every Entity uses a TS as a teaching method — and there have been many cycled-off Entities — why so few TS that are known? [Gerber] Is Barack Obama a TS? [Michael Entity] Barack Obama is not a Transcendental Soul. He is an extraordinary fragment to many, but no more extraordinary than any of you. The context of his life may showcase his Essence in a way that many of you will not be showcased, but that does not diminish the extraordinary in the ordinary of any of you. [DianeH] So that mean the TS does not displace a fragment like the IS? [Michael Entity] Manifestation of the Transcendental Soul could be described as “displacing the fragment,” and we have described it as such through some channels, but this simply describes the fragment shifting from that individual focus to the collective focus, representing a whole, and not just a part. [Gerber] Thank you Michael- I asked that question because Mr. Obama seems unusually aware of the collective needs of his societies ( both immediate and seemingly universal). [Michael Entity] Gerber, this is the nature of a Priest in the positive poles. Oprah Winfrey would be another example of a Priest in the positive poles. The hallmarks of Transcendental Souls are the lack of sexual activity, lack of affiliation with any organized religion, and an emphasis on some form of social revolution, even if only in a relatively small circle. They actually do very little to bring about the revolution but their presence is enough to spark it. The Priest who is Barack Obama holds none of these hallmark traits. [Gerber] Then they must be rare indeed. [sandy] Does this mean that you, Michael, could be born one more time? [Michael Entity] Sandy, yes, we will incarnate as a Transcendental Soul in at least one parallel. All Entities do so. [sandy] So in our parallel the TS’s in recorded history are? [Michael Entity] Gandhi is a clear and relatively recent example of a Transcendental Soul. Socrates, Confucius, Mohammed, and Zarathustra are other examples of Transcendental Souls. These are the only ones we know of in recorded history that may be known to you, as well. Contributing to the list of Transcendental Souls among our channels and students are those souls who have contributed in ways similar to a Transcendental Soul, but are not Transcendental Souls. It may not come as a surprise to some of you that so many cannot accept the extraordinary from the ordinary. In fact, many fragments are capable of what the Transcendental Soul effects. In addition to the names we listed above, many Transcendental Souls have come and gone without notice on global scales, but are tremendously effective in villages, communities, family lines, societies, etc. The impact can be a cumulative, slow, long-term effect fulfilled by many with little recognition brought to the originator of that social revolution.

Cadres and Entities 101 Part of the awesome order conveyed to us from Michael’s understanding and perspective of the Universe is in what are called Cadre and Entity as they describe how each Essence is part of a personal spiritual “family” created before even the first lifetime. What I will attempt in this article is to describe the variations through the channels as “Michael” has come through in teaching about this order. I will present all theories and perspectives as clearly as possible. First, some definitions in Michael Terms: Fragment: One Essence Essence: Soul (basically) Roles: One of Seven types of Essence Entity: An organized group of approximately 1000 Essences, consisting of at least Two Roles. Cadence: The smallest grouping referred to, usually referring to a group of one Role within an Entity. Greater Cadence: 49 fragments of One Role arranged in 7X7 columns/rows. Casting: a specific position in a sequence of 7 Raw Number: your specific position within the count of all fragments in your entity. Cadre: An organized group of 7 Entities, equaling approximately 7000 Essences and representing all 7 Roles. Energy Ring: An organized group of 12 Cadres, equaling approximately 84,000 Essences and representing all Roles in proportion to their global/universal proportion (Servers 25%; Artisans 22%; Warriors 17%; Scholars 14%; Sages 10%; Priests 8%; Kings 4%) Contingent: 7000 Cadres, approximately 49 Million Essences, and approximately 1% of Population VARYING THEORIES OF CADRE/ENTITY MODELS Now, here are the varying theories through different channels as to how we are arranged. What we want to gain from the Michael Teachings is a sense of practical application, simplicity, and I have found nearly everything Michael teaches is clearly applicable and simple. Some of these models are not as applicable to me, but I keep in mind that what isn’t applicable on a mundane level may still be true on a larger scale. I’d be curious to know which of these Models seem to resonate with you. CLASSIC MODEL: I call this the Classic Model because it seems the most-used of all the systems and one that seems to have come independently through various channels. I like it when the information can be cross-referenced and found to be mostly consistent among the channels. This classic model theory describes the Cadres and Entities as being created/chosen previous to beginning a Grand Cycle and the connections from those groupings remains consistent and powerful throughout all lifetimes and beyond. It is also the basis of growth on higher planes and is the premise for reuniting. Based on the Classic Model, the Michael Entity is from an Energy Ring “ahead” of the one most of us are from, with Michael coming from Cadre 11, Entity 4. Michael has Agreements to teach the entire following Energy Ring in some way. Most of us who find ourselves drawn to the Michael Teachings are from that Energy Ring of 12 Cadres following Michael’s. I consider us from Energy Ring #2, following Michael’s Energy Ring #1, but I have been corrected in that we are actually in Energy Ring #17, while Michael is in Energy Ring #16. Technically, I believe it is true that we are from Energy Ring #17, but only when counting all Energy Rings having incarnated here before us. Here is a more detailed explanation: The previous 14 Energy Rings before Michael’s were not “Human”, as we know it; therefore, I am counting only Human Sentience in the Model to which I refer. If you include all Sentience having come to this planet (silicone-based life forms previous to Humans, as well as a few Energy Rings of more Etheric-based “humans” previous to us, known mythologically as Lemurians), we are #17. Most of us, then, are in the Second Energy Ring of Human Sentience. Cetacean Sentience (whales and dolphins) is not included in this count because they were supposedly transported to Earth mid-grand cycle and are counted in a larger perspective of the system extending beyond this planet (we will get to that). Let’s just focus on Humans and Earth, for now. Although many from our Cadre/Entities first incarnated on a different planet in the Dog Star System, we were moved here so smoothly and efficiently and quickly that we are part of the count relative to this particular planet. A few hundred fragments actually incarnated in the Dog Star System before we were moved, but only those few hundred, and mostly only for a few lifetimes. These fragments are usually from Entities 1 and 2 of each Cadre, or maybe Server or Warrior-Cast fragments, because these fragments tend to be the first to incarnate when a group of souls begins a new cycle, “clearing the way”, so to speak. This Classic System is based on Essences actively choosing a group of souls previous to beginning the entire incarnational cycle (Grand Cycle) based on commonalties of interest, energy themes, general interests, possible “past” associations (from previous Grand Cycles), etc. These themes are more concentrated and meaningful around the level of the individual Entity, but there is an overall concept/theme for the entire Cadre too. The Cadres are arranged to create a Support Group of 12. Each of the Cadres has a particular position to play in the interactions with other Cadres. The general description of energies below is not literal, but more about the overall motivation behind all that the Cadre aspires to achieve and experience as a theme. Cadre 1 = Love (initiators, inspirers, pioneers) Cadre 2 = Knowledge (questioners, insight givers, facilitators) Cadre 3 = Compassion (nurturers, integrators, peacemakers) Cadre 4 = Mentor (guides, counselors, role models) Cadre 5 = Beauty (artists, highlights the best of things) Cadre 6 = Child (innocent, distracting, requires care) Cadre 7 = Humor (funny, brings laughter, pleasure givers) Cadre 8 = Discipline (responsible, focused, decision clarifiers) Cadre 9 = Anchor (security, acceptance, grounding) Cadre 10 = Healer (bringing balance, healing) Cadre 11 = Enlightenment (teachers, ‘light’ bringers, providing structures for perceiving reality) Cadre 12 = Muse (highest values, abstract concepts, bringers of aspiration) This set of 12 repeats over and over to include all of humanity’s sentience. These positions are very hard to validate since they are larger in scope and are more about the relative positions to each other. As a collective Entity you may be able to grasp the impact, but don’t worry if this level is difficult to validate by you as an individual. The last three Cadres of an Energy Ring affect the next Energy Ring. Examples of this are that Michael comes from Cadre 11 (Enlightenment Position) as does Seth and a few other impactful teachers. The Infinite Soul usually chooses Essences from Cadre 12 (Muse Position) for manifesting, as in Jesus and Buddha, etc. Again, Michael is Cadre 11, Entity 4. According to Michael, humans have about 7 billion Essences making up its entire sentience. Almost all of us are here, incarnated now. About 60,000,000 bodies on the planet now are Simultaneous Lives (multiple bodies) for some Essences; about 1% of the population then does not “count” in this number in terms of counting souls. Humanity’s sentient numbers, then, count at about 83,300 Energy Rings, and Earth is currently carrying about 70,700 of those! Within each Cadre, there are 7 Entities. Each Entity has a general flavor or theme based on two factors: One is based on its Number Position within the Cadre, and Two is based on its members and the impact of the Roles and general themes of interest shared. The Number Position in the Cadre is described in terms of Positive Pole and Negative Pole. If you look closely, these only describe degrees of solidity vs. fragmentation. For instance, Entity Number Two has +Stability and -Balance. Picture a solid surface where both your feet are planted firmly as the positive pole suggests. This is Stability. Now imagine placing that solid surface (like a board) on something like a cylinder or ball, creating a teetering effect that you must now strive to maintain like the negative pole describes as Balance. Every Positive and Negative Pole in the Michael Teachings only refers to a version of “oneness” Vs “separation”. They are not good or bad. Entity One: +Purpose -Simplicity Entity Two: +Stability -Balance Entity Three: +Enterprising -Versatility Entity Four: +Consolidation -Achievement Entity Five: +Expansion -Adventure Entity Six: +Harmony -Connection Entity Seven: +Inculcation -Eclecticism This set of energies is the same for all sets of Entities in any Cadre. What makes each Entity able to act out this energy uniquely is through the proportion of Roles within that particular Entity. So a Sage/Artisan Entity will certainly play out Entity Four position differently than say, a King/Server Entity. Depending on your Entity’s make-up, your Entity will have its own “flavor” for that position. All Entities have at least two Roles and NEVER is an Entity only one Role. Now, with all of this in mind, we’ll now look at the general scheme of things and where we all fit into this. Michael comes from what would be called Energy Ring #1 of Human Sentience, Cadre 11, and Entity 4. Most of us who actively study the Michael Teachings are from Energy Ring #2, Cadres 1-3 and all the entities therein. The average Soul Age drops tremendously after about Cadre 3. The average Soul Age in the first three Cadres of Energy Ring #2 is about 3rd Level Old, while the Average Soul Age for the planet is 1st Level Mature. This means there are approximately 600 million Old Souls and/or Cycled Off Souls within the 7 billion Essences accounting for Human Sentience. Subtracting the first Energy Ring’s 10 Cycled off Cadres (about 70,000 Essences) that leaves hundreds of thousands of Old/Cycled-Off Souls unaccounted from our own “Older” Energy Ring #2. This emphasizes that one’s position in the Cadre/Entity System has no bearing on how fast or slow one may be progressing. Furthermore, there are many Cadres/Entities/Energy Rings who are completely cycled-off already! In fact, Cadre 4 from Energy Ring #2 is already cycled off! Cadre 1, Entity 4 is nearly completed in cycling off, as well. To make things even more interesting, Cadres 11 and 12 from Energy Ring #1 still have a very few members incarnating! We progress at our own collective pace. CASTING OF AN ENTITY’S MEMBERS Michael describes the “casting” of an Entity as each Role being “Cast at Once” for that Entity. For instance, all the Sages from Entity #2 are “Cast at Once” and all the Artisans are “Cast at Once”. Considering that there is a linear count to the Casting, as we perceive it, this can be confusing. Think of it this way: If you were to mix and shape a batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies one morning, followed by another batch, followed by another batch, even if there were several batches, you might say that the morning you baked all those cookies they were all “made at once”. That analogy applies to the whole concept of “time exists all at once” in metaphysics. It doesn’t REALLY exist all at once, literally, but from a higher perspective, it DOES! While you are baking, you are taking steps in creating the cookies, but in retrospect or in general, it can be said that you made all the Chocolate Chip Cookies “at once” because they were all made that morning. In the same way that traveling across the United States would have you see town after town after town, but from high in the atmosphere, you might just see a continent. So, the Roles are “cast at once” from the perspective of the Tao, but the counting is still valid to our Essences and Personalities. Within an Entity, each Role is cast as a group, so for instance, all Scholars are cast at once if that Entity has Scholars, and then all Sages, etc. The arrangement within the Entity, though, does not necessarily place all the Scholars in a single group. They may be broken up by a placement of a group of Servers, for instance. Each grouping of Roles is organized into Greater Cadences, Cadences, and Casting Positions. A Greater Cadence is 49 Fragments (7X7), a Cadence is 7 Positions, and a Casting Position is a single position within the 7. Here is a visual for you below. As mentioned earlier, the numbers have a Positive and Negative Pole that applies energetically to those positions, whether they are Cadences, Casting, or an Entity Number. To help you grasp the impact of a Number, you can also relate each to a Role. ONE: SERVER +Service/-Subservience TWO: ARTISAN +Creativity/-Self-delusion THREE: WARRIOR +Persuasion/-Coercion FOUR: SCHOLAR +Knowledge/-Theory FIVE: SAGE +Dissemination/-Oration SIX: PRIEST +Compassion/-Zeal SEVEN: KING +Mastery/-Tyranny Your Cadence, Casting Position and Entity Numbers are very important in understanding the dynamics of your personal Essence design. If you have those numbers channeled, they are usually to be written in this order: Casting Position/Cadence/Entity. Your Casting Position, in fact, is equal to or more important than, your Role. Your Casting Position will remain a strong influence on the higher planes long after your Role stops being referenced and your Casting explains your behavior on an everyday, mundane level. The way your Casting Position is reflected in daily life is that it influences the way your own Role is EXPRESSED. Using the “Numbers equals Roles” translation, if you are a Server in a Casting Position of 2, you would then be a Server who provides Service through Creativity (which is because it resonates to 2=Artisan). Also, on an everyday level, you would seem to be regularly creative, while when you are “in Essence” you are truly Serving. The Role, I have found, is what we do when we are “In Essence”, what makes us “shine”, so to speak, while the Casting is the way we behave in general or present ourselves socially. Your Cadence Number (the column you are from) influences how you RELATE to OTHERS. If you are a Sage from Cadence 3, that means when you interact with others, you may do so Persuasively or Coercively (positive and negative poles of Warrior=3). Your Entity Number/Role tells you how you relate, in general, to the WORLD. So an Entity in the 5th Position in the Cadre will relate Sage-like to the World, etc. NOTE: Since the numbering of the Cadres is based on a group of 12, and not 7, they are influenced by their position within the Support Group descriptions, as mentioned earlier. CARDINALITY and ORDINALITY Cardinal: Exalted in impact, Group-oriented. +Lucidity/-Activity Ordinal: Focused in impact, One-on-One Oriented. +Responsiveness/-Passivity When referring to a Role or Number in SINGULAR, they are Cardinal or Ordinal, but when referring to a Role or Number relative to a group, the Cardinality/Ordinality may be reversed. For instance, the Server, Artisan, and Warrior are Ordinal Roles on their own, singularly, while the Numbers 1, 2, 3 are, as well. Within a grouping, however, the first HALF of that group is CARDINAL and second HALF is Ordinal. So, then, a Server in a Position One of a group of Seven will be an Ordinal Role in a Cardinal Position (first half of the seven). This means that the first three Entities of each Cadre are CARDINAL, while the last three Entities are ORDINAL, and the Center Entity is Neutral, even while the individual Roles still hold their Cardinality or Ordinality. Here is a visual of the Roles being Cardinal or Ordinal, while the first and second halves are reversed: 1 SERVER Ordinal * 2 ARTISAN Ordinal * >Cardinal Half 3 WARRIOR Ordinal * 4 SCHOLAR Neutral * >Neutral 5 SAGE Cardinal * 6 PRIEST Cardinal * >Ordinal Half 7 KING Cardinal * To make more sense of this, let’s look at Entity 2. Entity Two has a Positive Pole of Stability and a Negative Pole of Balance, in terms of the Entity Number. It is also Artisan-like in its expression because of the resonance to the Artisan (2=Artisan). Entity Two is Ordinal in Numbering so its members are closer-knit, more involved with the everyday world that other Cadre Members might inhabit. Because Entity Two is the first Half of the Cadre, it is Cardinal in relation to the World. The Cardinal half paves the way for the rest of the Cadre in terms of incarnating in the world. To use the real Cadre One, Entity Two as an example, you can see all of these factors come together easily when you look at how INDIVIDUALISTIC (Ordinal) and CREATIVE (Artisan-like) sample Entity Members are, such as, Boy George, Cyndi Lauper, or Madonna, yet each of these people have CLEARED A PATH/PIONEERED (Cardinal) in terms of the World as it relates to Artisan-like contexts. Within each Entity, Greater Cadence, and Cadence this Cardinal/Ordinal reversal is also true. The Singular Position/Number/Role is described one specific way, while the First Half or Second Half of the grouping is described as Cardinal/Ordinal. So a Server in the first position of a Cadence will be Ordinal in Role and Ordinal in Position, but Cardinal in relation to its grouping. If that Cadence of Servers is in the second half of the Entity, it is furthermore Cardinal in influence. Michael says this is all part of the awesome order that is the YIN/YANG influence of balance within. Cardinality and Ordinality are also subject to change depending on the placement within a group context. WILD CARDS One area of interest and confusion is the basic Entity Structures as they relate to the creation of what is called WILD CARDS. Depending on whom you ask, “Wild Cards” are fragments in an Entity that straddle two Casting Positions or are Fragments who “attach” themselves to the Entity outside of its basic, restricted structure. According to what I have understood from “The West”, they subscribe to the idea that ALL Entities are structured with only 1,029 Fragments, no matter what. That structure then creates 3 “sides” of an Entity with 343 Fragments on each side. Each “side” represents one of the three Building Blocks of the universe, Truth, Love, or Energy. Any additional fragments outside of 1,029 Fragments then are “stuck” to the sides of the Entity like “bumps”. Where they attach themselves, I don’t know, and I don’t know if that sticking is static or changeable. Furthermore, I am not sure how to account for the Entities that have less than 1,029 fragments (they do exist), using this theory from the West. Is the “Energy” side always the side lacking completeness, or is it evenly dispersed? I don’t know. In my own exploration with Michael about this topic, (which may be totally wrong or just another part of the entire picture we are trying to explore), they have explained the Wild Card as being those fragments who “fill” a space left by an incomplete Cadence within an Entity. For instance, if there is a group of 263 Sages in an Entity, that is 5 Greater Cadences (5 X 49) that are full (245 fragments) and a 6th Greater Cadence with 2 full Cadences (2 X 7 = 14 fragments) and a 3rd Cadence with only 4 fragments (245+14+4=263 Sages). That last Cadence then has three positions not filled. Those would be the Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Positions. Now let’s say a group of Scholars are next in this Entity. The first THREE Fragments in that next Scholar Cadence are energetically linked to the “gaps” left in that previous Sage Cadence. That means the First-Cast of the Scholars will “straddle” the Cadence Positions of its own, plus the FIFTH Position in the previous, incomplete Cadence, continuing the linking of the Entity together. The Second-Cast Scholar will “straddle” its own Position and the SIXTH Position in the previous, incomplete Cadence, while the Third-Cast Scholar is linked to the Seventh Position in the previous, incomplete Cadence. Much of what I am presenting here is relative to my own experience and channeling, but I know there may be contradictions to other channels’ information. Please take the time to cross-reference and validate what you find to be “true”. Also, if you have anything you can contribute to help fill out the info, please do! That is the basic outline and introduction to the Classic Cadre/Entity structure. I will touch briefly on two other systems that are used. Neither is common and both are exclusive to the originator of the information, except that Sarah did pass on the theory to Victoria Marina, I think, and she uses the system now. SARAH CHAMBERS’ CADRE/ENTITY MODEL Sarah uses a picture of the entirety of Sentience as it is incarnating in a particular Universe and the casting order is all relative to that. This system would include Cetacean, Human, Gorilla, Silicone-based Life, Lemurians, other planetary Sentience, etc. Within that system there are even more terms introduced, such as “Nodes” and “Pods”, but I have no clue how they work. If you get your Cadre/Entity information from Victoria (or anyone who uses the terms Nodes/Pods), then you are being interpreted in the context of ALL Sentience, not just organized Human Sentience. This places you in very different positions as compared to just looking at Human Sentience. I am thoroughly intrigued by this system, but I don’t understand it completely and I can’t find a way to apply it to my daily life. It is cool to know where you fit into the huge, cosmic scheme of things though. SHEPHERD HOODWIN’S MODEL Shepherd, like Sarah, began a system exclusive to his channeling, as well. It uses the exact same model as the Classic, but everything is shifted a bit, based on Average Soul Ages and time spent incarnating. I have never been able to use this system practically since Shepherd is the only one who channels this information in this way. Some people use this system because they were introduced to the teachings through Shepherd’s books. Shepherd’s theory arranges fragments into more fluid and changing groups based on oldest souls to youngest. For instance, since Cadres 11 and 12 still have members incarnating on the planet and they are all very Old Souls, he refers to these as Cadres 1 and 2, since they have been around the longest. What would normally be Cadre 1 of Energy Ring 2 in the Classic System is now called Cadre 3. Additionally, since Cadre 4 of Energy Ring 2 is already cycled off, Shepherd does not “count” that Cadre in his numbering system at all. Shepherd strongly believes his system is easily translated and a truer, more universally accurate picture. Some people have no trouble adapting to it, but they are limited to Shepherd as a source for that system (since no other channel uses it), and any channeling outside of Shepherd must then be translated. Where the Classic System counts itself in Energy Rings, like 1, 2, 3, and on, with the Cadres repeated in groups of 12, Shepherd simply continues the count of Cadres and does not group them in Energy Rings (though he does refer to “Greater Cadre Groups”). So, in Shepherd’s system, there will be a Cadre 124 or Cadre 500 or Cadre 21 etc. Since this system is based on average Soul Age, if you were to slow down, say, and remain at 6th Level Young for a series of lives while those in your Cadre moved on to 1st Level Mature, you would now be counted and placed in a different Cadre, Cadence, etc. Shepherd says this is extremely rare, though I, personally, see many possibilities that different fragments may progress at different rates of growth at various times, thus changing their status in Soul Age among his system. Another thing to consider is that since nearly 600 Million fragments are Cycled off or Old (about 10% or so), that means that OVER 84,000 Cadres in a row are at least Old or Cycled off, but that isn’t consistent with the fact that Shepherd does channel that a Mature Soul in his Cadres is alongside an Old Soul. I haven’t been able to reconcile that confusion yet. If you were introduced to the Michael Teachings through Shepherd or his books, or had your Profile channeled through him, it is always a good idea to include in your introduction that you are using the “Shepherd System” so others know. I asked Shepherd to write me and help with this article, as it would be representing him. Many times I have been told that I just “don’t get it”, so I wanted his commentary in his own words. The following is Shepherd’s offered responses as Michael, using his own channeling to question his own channeling. I had originally asked for, and preferred his responses in his own words, but here is what I got from him as Michael. Personally, I am still as confused after this, if not more. FROM SHEPHERD: CADRE NUMBERING Q. Your system of cadre numbering through the channel Shepherd Hoodwin doesn’t appear to match the work of other Michael channels. Does this mean that your cadences are different, too? A. They are the same. Q. Did you create your cadre numbering system through Shepherd without him cross-referencing other channel’s work? In other words, did the channel discover that his findings clashed with those of other channels, but instead of adjusting his system, did he just create his own explanations? A. When this channel began to channel charts, he asked for a universal system of numbering cadres that could accommodate anyone who might come. At that time, other channels were not using cadre numbers much. When they did, the numbering didn’t generally extend beyond four. The concept of cadre groups had not yet been brought through. What was called Cadre One by other channels we called Cadre Three in order to be able to use a single number to account for the two remaining cadres of Cadre Group One. When the channel learned that other channels called his Cadre Three, Cadre One, we advised him to continue with the system we had already implemented with him. The system is convenient and internally consistent, and it is not at all difficult to translate. You will note that the channel Sarah Chambers brought forth still another system, which is not contradictory but relates to a different aspect of what is really “three-dimensional.” All the systems are “two-dimensional models” and describe different “sides” of “three-dimensional” structure. Q. It has been said that your system assigns Cadres One and Two as they are, not by a static cadre group numbering, but based on their having higher soul ages. A. The mean age of a cadre as we compute it for this purpose is a combination of both soul age and the number of previous cycles, which mostly follows the order of casting from the Tao. It is measurable, and that is what we use through this channel for numbering. It is not surprising that the last remaining cadres of Cadre Group One would be slightly older than the first cadre of Cadre Group Two, although this would not have to be the case. Q. Is it true that you place cadres in sequence without a break, and that when a cadre cycles off (say, in 200 years), Cadre Three could, for example, eventually become Cadre Two? A. None of these systems are likely to be in use by the time a relevant cadre cycles off. By then, your understanding of universal formations will have grown a great deal, and you will use different descriptors. The reality of how cadres are cast from the Tao is far more complex than we are capable of transmitting at this time. The numbering systems currently in place now, however, are adequate for the time being. If we were to use a numbering system based directly on cadre groups, it would still not provide a unique number for each cadre. Q. The same could be said about entities. If there are seven entities in a cadre, and one of them cycles off, isn’t it true that according to your system the space left open by the departing entity would now be filled by the adjacent entity, meaning that Entity Five would then become Entity Four, and Entity Six would then become Entity Five, and so on? A. Because entity numbers relate to casting order, if one entity cycles off, the numbers would be maintained. The cadre numbers in this system, however, are not related to casting order—they are simply conveniences. Cadre Three is not, say, third out of 7 or 12; it is third out of an open-ended progression. We think that too much could be made of all this. The purpose of the cadre numbers is to be able to refer to a particular cadre and know which one it is. It should not be assumed that all the Michael fragments that are channeled confer on every piece of channeling to ensure that all terms in a particular human language are consistent among channels; what is important is the meaning. The translation through individual channels necessarily has some leeway. It is up to students to ascertain meanings, and doing so is good work.     In the same way the "spark" takes on an Essence Role for its cycle of lives while adventuring from the Tao, the Essence takes on a PERSONALITY each lifetime when it incarnates! This helps create even more diversity and flexibility for the soul. The PERSONALITY is the vehicle for the Essence to experience life, like a space suit. It is the extension of the Essence, allowing the soul to experience the Physical Plane and all of its emotions, sensations, thrills and chills. There a number of ways to set up your "space suit" and as the Essence experiences more and more lives, it gets better and better at creating its life and Personality. The different factors used in designing a Personality are referred to as OVERLEAVES. The Overleaves used in creating a Personality are: GOAL: The primary motivator within the lifetime MODE: The primary way of approaching the Goal ATTITUDE: The primary way of viewing the life BODY TYPE: The basic genetic and planetary influences that make up your actual body These Overleaves listed above are chosen before birth by the Essence. AFTER being born, by the age of three, another Overleaf is settled on called CENTERING: your habitual way of taking in and reacting to the world and experiences. In your adolescence within the lifetime you then add one more element that makes life all the more interesting and challenging; your basic fear, called the CHIEF NEGATIVE FEATURE. It is your stumbling block and primary challenge to all things within the life. Note: Chief Negative Features are commonly referred to as "Chief Features." Those are the basic Personality traits with which to be concerned for now. As with the Essence Roles, there are 7 Goals, Modes, Attitudes, etc., to choose from and combine for the lifetime. Again, as with the Roles, do not get too caught up being literal. Michael chooses the terms carefully. In studying the Michael Teachings, you will begin learning that we have tended to put negative connotations to perfectly neutral words. You will see that some words you used to think were "bad" now become empowering and make perfect sense. The 7 Goals are: Re-evaluation: the lifetime revolves around slowing down experience as much as possible, so as to assimilate past life influences. Growth: the lifetime revolves around gaining as much experience as possible, so as to use in future lives. Discrimination: the lifetime revolves around learning how to make better choices and decisions for yourself. Acceptance: the lifetime revolves around learning how to accept all choices and decisions, even the choices of others. Submission: the lifetime revolves around learning where and how you are most needed and effective. Dominance: the lifetime revolves around learning how direct and lead those who are most needed and effective. Flow: the lifetime is learning how to relax, enjoy life, and let it unfold, trusting in Essence. The 7 Modes are: Reserve: reaching your Goal by refining your emotions Passion: reaching your Goal by freeing your emotions Caution: reaching your Goal by refining your thoughts Power: reaching your Goal by freeing your thoughts Perseverance: reaching your Goal by refining your actions Aggression: reaching your Goal by freeing your actions Observation: reaching your Goal by observing and using the Mode most appropriate for the occasion. The 7 Attitudes are: Stoic: sees life as if they have seen it all before Spiritualist: sees life as if they have never seen it before Skeptic: sees life like it can always be disproved Idealist: sees life like it can always be improved Cynic: sees life as opposite to what appears to be Realist: sees life as it appears Pragmatist: sees life practically and through the Attitude most appropriate for the occasion. The 7 Body Types are: Lunar: rounded, pale, emotional; good for lifetimes dealing with one on one Inspirational contact (relates to Server) Saturnian: tall, durable, lean; good for lifetimes dealing with Inspirational issues for groups (relates to Priest) Mercurial: witty, quick, wiry; good for lifetimes dealing with expression one on one (relates to Artisan) Jovial: round, fleshy, large; good for lifetimes dealing with being in a central position of expression for others (relates to Sage) Martial: fiery, reactive, high-energy; good for lifetimes dealing with actions affecting people one on one (relates to Warrior) Venusian: soft, sensual, warm, charismatic; good for lifetimes dealing with being open, approachable, and accessible to larger groups (relates to King) Solar: bright, spirited, small and frail; good for lifetimes needing to be in the center of everything (relates to Scholar) *A note on Body Types: There are no "pure" Body Types. There is usually a combination of two to three influences. In addition there are three "eccentric" Body Types that a person can have for some of their more extraordinary lives. They are Plutonian, Neptunian, and Uranian. They are rare and specific so we won't go into those here. There are 7 Centers and you may recognize them as relative to the Chakras if you are familiar with Chakras. As you study the Michael Teachings, you will find that while there are similarities, there are also very different ways in which "Center" is used as opposed to "chakra". Though there are 7 Centers, a human body usually only uses one Center habitually. There are "higher" and "lower" Centers but they are not better or worse; the "higher" and "lower" only refer to the level they are sourced from and affect. The "lower" Centers are more of the Physical Plane and affect the body, while the "higher" Centers are more spiritual and affect our connections beyond the Physical. Since so much energy is involved in the sustaining of experience in the "higher" Centers, it is extremely rare to be Centered in a "higher" Center, but instead they are Centers accessed for specific purposes. The "higher" Centers are accessed through either practice, meditation, randomly, or through intense trauma. The 7 Centers are: Instinctive: this center travels with you from life to life like a floppy disc. It stores all of your experiences ever gathered and all of your areas of growth still needed and all the areas you have come to peace with. It isn't very intelligent, but is more a storehouse and protective device. It is where all of your past lives are remembered and even this lifetime's history. It is very automatic. Higher Moving Center: this is the Center relating to a pure connection and recognition of ENERGY. It is pure creativity and recognition of beauty as it is. It is experienced when you feel awe in seeing a landscape or piece of art, for example, or when you feel completely connected to everything around you, seeing its perfection as it is. This is the most accessed of the "higher" Centers and sex can sometimes trigger it. Moving Center: this is the Center that governs our body movements and actions. Those who are Moving Centered are action-oriented and take in life through their bodies. Emotional Center: this is the Center that governs our sense of connection to others emotionally and within ourselves. Those who are Emotionally Centered take in life through their feelings. Intellectual Center: this Center governs our beliefs and thoughts and communication. Those Intellectually Centered take in life through analysis and reasoning. Higher Emotional Center: this Center is your pure sense of LOVE, total, complete unconditional Love, or as Michael calls it, "agape" (pronounced a-GOP-ee). It is felt when you completely allow yourself or another to behave, think, be, in any way that comes but without fear or judgment. Higher Intellectual Center: this is the Center where absolute TRUTH is experienced, where whole complete insights and "knowing" reside. Although these descriptions are far from complete, they are good starting points and you will be most concerned with only the Moving, Emotional, and Intellectual Centers at first. PARTS & TRAPS: Knowing yours or someone else's Centering is truly helpful in understanding how a person takes in life, but there's more: the PART of the Center. Within each Center resides actually ALL other Centers, kind of like a pie. So the Intellectual Center, for instance, will have an Emotional Part, an Instinctive Part, a Higher Emotional Part, etc., even an Intellectual Part (pure Intellect then). These PARTS are how the person puts their experience back out into the world after taking it in! They are also called TRAPS because a person can get so caught up in using only that PART that they forget to balance themselves with other parts. For instance, a person might be Intellectually Centered/Emotional Part. This means they take in life through what makes sense to them: observation and analysis; but then bring it back out into the world through Emotions, meaning they might get very emotional over their thoughts, but have no way of getting it out. The Emotional Center has no "voice", so the Intellectual Center can get caught in a Trap, thinking, analyzing and reasoning, leading them back to emotions that then go back through reasoning, giving rise to more emotions, etc. Eventually something has to give. What will then happen is that person might act out with their Moving Center. They might get angry and lash out, or they might actually cry, taking an action that helps get them out of the Emotional Trap. Most people have their Centering and Parts in the "lower" Centers, such as Emotional Center/Moving Part. Remember that many solutions are found in bringing in the neglected Center of the main three (Moving, Intellectual, Emotional). If you are Emotionally Centered, Moving Part, you will have to bring in the Intellect in order to balance yourself. This means that you need to add THOUGHTS and COMMUNICATION to your ACTIONS as you react to FEELINGS. To help you understand each PART/Trap, I will share the ways I understand them: INTELLECTUAL PART: This person will have lessons around how to take the input from their basic Centering and express that back out into the world appropriately. They may be excellent at communicating, but they will still have a spectrum of lessons and challenges in this area. EMOTIONAL PART: This person will have lessons around how to take the input from their basic Centering and how to process the feelings that arise from it. They may have deep emotions, but have little way of actually showing it. This is their challenge then in many cases. MOVING PART: This person will have lessons around how to take input from their basic Centering and how to actually behave as a reaction. They have a lot of energy, but they are learning how to direct that appropriately back out of their bodies. There are 7 Chief Negative Features (or fears) that you choose from in your teens. You usually choose two. One is your PRIMARY CHIEF FEATURE and the other is your Secondary. The Primary affects and challenges your attaining your GOAL, therefore affecting more of your personal experiences, and the Secondary affects and challenges your MODE, therefore affecting more of your relationships and intimacy issues. The 7 Chief Features are: Self-Deprecation: fear of Inadequacy; your not being able to live up to yours or someone else's standards, leaving you weak, insecure, and incompetent. Fear of NOT BEING ENOUGH. Arrogance: fear of Vulnerability; wanting others to live up to your standards, or fearing your standards not counting, leaving you vulnerable, judgmental, isolated, and alone as you are seen as not needing others. Fear of BEING TOO MUCH. Self-Destruction: fear of Worthlessness; feeling that you have no worth or value unless dead or dying for someone/something else, leaving you with ongoing sacrifices for others with no gain for anyone, even extending into getting a terminal disease. Fear of GETTING TOO MUCH. Greed: fear of Scarcity; feeling that you won't get all that is out there of worth to you personally; leaving you fixated on one or two things that you cannot satisfy as a way to maintain your sense of self. This can be food, affection, sex, money, even vague things like not enough "love". Fear of NOT GETTING ENOUGH. Martyrdom: fear of Losing Control; a strong need for being in control of everything in your space even though that is impossible. This leaves you feeling victimized, burdened, and complaining. Fear of LOSING CONTROL OF SPACE. Impatience: fear of Missing Out; you are always fighting the clock, trying to control before being controlled, leaving you intolerant and agitated. Fear of LOSING CONTROL OF TIME. Stubbornness: fear of Change; you cannot and will not deal with anything new and against your already-set opinions, ideas, and environment. Some people who have Stubbornness actually can appear like they are adventurous and changeable, but look closely to see if they are actually creating "the more things change, the more they stay the same." Constant change can just be a way of avoiding dealing with actual changes. Fear of ANYTHING DIFFERENT. If you have read through the entire Introduction, you have just touched on all the very basics of the Teachings! This is just the tip of the iceberg, but it gets more and more familiar as you start to apply it.

It is almost euphoric to your Essence to find unexpected beauty, unexpected laughs, unexpected compassion and kindness. This is a basic form of navigation for your Essence as you move through a life. The Personality may not always be aware of this, but it becomes keenly aware of it when the unexpected element comes into focus. The Artisan Casting also "loves" the challenge of bringing order/beauty to chaos or confusion. It is the part of you drawn to disorder and confusion for the experience of bringing order, beauty, and clarity. This is not always "fun" for the Personality, but there is also a kind of trust in this process. There is a part of you who knows you can find the beauty, create the beauty. MEntity: Scholar-Casting often shows up as heightened sensitivity, often felt in deep, emotional ways that "make no sense." This is often interpreted by the Scholar-cast as such a vulnerability that they often are the most secretive and "personal" with their exploration of the life. This Casting often gravitates toward anyone who can help them to "come out of themselves" in a way that is uninhibited and less self-conscious. This Casting often generates in the lifetime a love/hate, push/pull relationship with intimacy, at once desiring it greatly, but also convincing themselves that it is an unnecessary distraction. The Scholar-cast often struggles with his or her attention being fixated or fulfilled. In other words, when fixated, it is a means of escape, while when fulfilled, it is a product of exploration. These fragments can be of the most "kinky" of all. The Scholar-cast, more than even the Sage, or Sage-cast, can require feedback for insight into themselves, into the life, and the patterns of that life; they must "bounce" ideas off of others, see and hear these ideas played out in some way, so as to better navigate the library of thought that they carry. This can sometimes turn into a kind of paralysis if that sharing is not fulfilled in some way, locking them down with a sense of defeat for not having anyone to share those ideas and ideals with.

The progression through the Soul Ages for the Roles could be described as a progression of emphasis from DOING to HAVING to BEING. Infant and Baby emphasize DOING. Young emphasizes HAVING. Mature emphasizes the reconciliation between HAVING and BEING. And Old emphasizes BEING. Understanding this can help lend insights into the various Soul Ages and how the Roles manifest. ... OLD SAGES The Old Sage has now moved through the Mature Age that helped to reconcile the struggle between HAVING FUN and BEING HONEST. Now the Old Sage begins to emphasize Being Honest, even if it means at the expense of Fun. Old Sages often begin to withdraw from the "stage" and move into tighter circles that value honesty and true communication. It is no longer appealing in any way to simply perform the life. For the first time, the Old Sage values the importance of truly being SEEN. Even if there are a myriad of personas from habit and skill, the emphasis will still be there underlying every relationship and every opportunity: PLEASE SEE ME. This starts out as a kind of panic for some Sages entering the Old Soul Age, in that their existence depends on the utter honesty and rawness of being SEEN, and this can show up in desperate attempts to be understood, clarifying themselves, over-explaining, etc. This eventually levels out to a simple state of invitation. The emphasis moves from needing to be seen exactly how the Sage sees himself or herself to an emphasis on understanding how others actually see. This comprehension frees the Old Sage from the panic and loneliness of not being seen, and moves him or her into simply BEING HONEST. Once the Sage realizes that he or she cannot control how others interpret others, then Being Honest stands as an invitation, not as a prompt.

    [Excerpted from OMW: Manifesting Power] MEntity: We will discuss the concept of Power with you today. First, we will clarify what is meant by Power in our teaching, which we think is a meaning that extends to include most uses of the word. In our teaching, Power is an Expression Axis term. This is because Power can come from any number of sources and be implemented through any number of methods, but it requires Form, Expression, for it to be in existence. All terms on the Expression Axis require a move into Form for existence. The terms we choose for our Overleaf system are part of every individual life in some way, even as each Personality is a particular combination of emphasized terms. For example, one grows in a lifetime even if one does not have a Goal of Growth. Each fragment will have to contend with his or her relationship to Power, even if the Mode is not Power. Power is a spectrum that describes one's presence. The form of any kind of Power can range from between violent oppression that destroys to a quiet lucidity that awakens. Each Essence comes with a kind of built-in source of Power. How that comes into form is up to that fragment, and we have seen that every fragment will explore the entire range from violence to lucidity. Each Essence Role has a specific source or style of Power. We will share these with you, now. Keep in mind that Power is either GENERATED or EXTRACTED. There are other terms that could be used to describe these, but these terms will do. Power either comes from within, or without. Power that comes from within is regenerative and unlimited. Power that comes from without is dependent and limited. Keep this in mind as we describe the various Power of each Role. ... WARRIORS WARRIORS carry within them what we might call the Power of Correction. When this Power is Extracted, it shows up as PUNISHMENT. This Power of Correction is a keen awareness of where one may be out of alignment within, or without, and the Warrior can help to bring that alignment back. When this Power is dependent, then this Correction is done through punishment, shaming, and withholding. This is also how the Warrior experiences Correction, if offered by others, particularly if imprinting has come from caretakers who corrected in this fashion. As the Warrior shifts toward an internal, regenerative source of Power, this shifts toward being CONSEQUENTIAL. It is a Power of consequences; an awareness of the impact of choice, action, etc. When dependent upon feedback, the Warrior's Power of Correction is only seeking to avoid punishment, shame, or withholding. It has no real concern for consequences beyond the avoidance of this. When the shift turns toward an internal Power, there is a broadening of awareness of consequences. Punishment is no longer the incentive for Correction in self or others. As the Warrior comes into Manifestation, it comes to be determined that even if punishment is potential, there are better or worse consequences about which to be concerned. In fact, punishment may come to be considered "worth it," if it means a valid Correction. For both the King and the Warrior, this Power tends to come into effect in terms of DOING. What the King or Warrior DOES, or what others are DOING, is where this Power comes up, either positively or negatively.

    This article was originally posted in 2003. GUILT 101 [Michael_Entity]: “Guilt” is simply another funnel for the manifestation of the Chief Features. Guilt is fear-based and, although a valid method for experimentation, does little in regard to what it appears to be accomplishing, which is determined by most as “learning a lesson”. Many believe Guilt helps generate a certain amount of consciousness about one's behavior, but from our perspective, it is a false awareness. There are 7 forms of Guilt, each relating to the Chief Feature from which it stems. There are 2 sources of Guilt: Your own Guilt, related to your Primary and Secondary Chief Features; and The Guilt induced from someone else’s use of their own Chief Features. Based on your own Chief Features, it may be easy to identify what type of Guilt you experience, if any, but the Guilt induced from Others may be more difficult to identify. The depth and intensity of Guilt grows stronger as one progresses through the Chief Features. Self-deprecation Guilt is considered to be the most “useful”, and it is the most common and pervasive of Guilts. We do not agree that Self-deprecating Guilt is “useful”, of course, but many have claimed a benefit for feeling or imposing this type of Guilt, as it helps manage social situations. This Guilt is so acceptable and encouraged that even our own Students may find our perspective surprising. Self-deprecating Guilt can most easily be seen in “apologies”, “accommodation”, and “compromise”. We refer to all these terms in quotes as the ineffective, officious versions reflected from that place of heightened false courtesy. This Guilt is what is commonly considered “healthy” since it appears to allow a flow of events to occur with little interruption, as in “keeping your mouth shut”, or “not rocking the boat”, “not questioning”, “leave well-enough alone”, etc. We state that this Guilt is not truly useful or efficient, as it is not based in mutual consideration. Self-deprecating Guilt is extremely one-sided in its “benefit”. Most “apology” serves only to pacify and relieve responsibility in a situation, certainly not to evolve or resolve the situation. Again, Self-deprecating Guilt is so common and accepted that it may be difficult to see these “courteous gestures” and “sincerity” as Guilt induced. Self-deprecation Guilt stems from false and evasive consideration. Guilt in this form has its focus on irresponsibility. This Guilt says, “I’m so sorry” or “you should be sorry”. Self-destruction Guilt is the second-most common form of Guilt, seen readily in the Third Internal Monad (Teens) as the Chief Features are originally being selected. This Guilt is also the motivation behind most “heroic” acts. Self-destructive Guilt results in such a distortion of what the life is worth that it is left with only one option: to end it. This is due to the basic fear of unworthiness, and further understood as the “fear of using too much”. The Guilt induced from this Chief Feature wants you to know that life is being wasted on him or her; therefore it is his or her responsibility to either relieve the planet of this burden, or sacrifice the life as a means to prove its worth. There may seem to be a lack of “everyday” evidence that this form of Guilt is so pervasive, but this is due to the taboo generated around the deaths of those who have been affected. Whether in this culture or another, suicide, illness of a self-destructive nature, and sacrificial “heroism” become highly regarded and utilized as a catalyst for idols and false projections of importance. This is simply the way the Human Sentient chooses, in most cases, to relieve the reality of this troubling impact. Murder is the result of this Guilt being imposed on another, taking the life away from a fragment that the Self-destructor feels amplifies his or her own worthlessness. Guilt in this form has its focus on “punishment”. This Guilt says, “I’ll show YOU”. Martyrdom Guilt is more obvious when it is in effect and is feels more familiar than Self-destructive Guilt, though in reality it is actually less pervasive. Guilt, here, is based on fearing lack of control of space. This Guilt results in the seeming inability to steer events to a place of satisfaction, for self or for others. When this Guilt is acted out, it seeks immediate manipulation of others so as to divert attention from that which is deemed out of control. In other words, this Guilt will complain, generate aches and pains; dramatize slight emotional wounds. These situations are generated as a means to gain a sense of control over the life, and to force others into supporting this, because if you do not focus on the wounded, you are Guilty, too. This Guilt is focused on false consolation, given or received. This Guilt says, “That wasn’t supposed to happen.” Stubbornness Guilt is still pervasive, but less so than Martyrdom. This Guilt stems, of course, from the fear of change, so the Guilt focuses on “incapacitating” or “immobilizing”. This Guilt convinces those who experience it, or those it is imposed upon, that something he or she has done has had negative effects that halted something positive. This tends to have the fragment who is “guilty” halted immediately. This Guilt says, “You hurt someone.” Greed Guilt is not much less pervasive than Stubbornness, but as you can see from the progression, each type of Guilt becomes more Invasive, rather than Pervasive. The earlier Guilts may be more freely engaged in, supported, and more acceptable, thus more Pervasive, but the latter Guilts become more extreme in their impact, thus more Invasive. Guilt stemming from Greed, of course, is focused on “not having enough”. This Guilt creates a dynamic between fragments that no longer allows giving, but instead turns all forms of sharing into Taking. This Guilt works to chain individuals to events, situations, or people, because of an extreme sense of imbalance in terms of what is Needed. In the case of this Guilt, what would normally be Giving (to or from) is transformed into Taking, because that which is Needed is not truly available from that which is the focus. This Guilt could be said to be “over-obligation” or “over-obliging”. Greed Guilt says, “But I NEED you”, or “But you NEED me”. Arrogance Guilt is even more invasive. It stems from “vulnerability”. This Guilt focuses on false compensation, meaning that it forces a false remedy or false solution to a situation that has not been fully comprehended. This Guilt wants someone to pay for the sense of exploitation of someone’s vulnerabilities. This is the Guilt that says, “You were/are WRONG/BAD”. Impatience Guilt is the most invasive of all Guilts. It stems from a sense of “lacking control of Time”. Since this Guilt senses such extreme overwhelm of Time before true resolutions can be made, or solutions found, it is also then the most generally hostile, if not violent, of all Guilts. If plans, people, things, ideas pass too quickly, or not quick enough, the Guilt develops swiftly and forcefully. This Guilt results either in the premature leaving of a situation, such as a relationship in turbulence, and a strong desire for everything to “just STOP”, or it can result in the constant badgering and belittling of anyone who is apparently not “keeping up with” the Impatient one. This Guilt says, “It’s too late, or doesn’t matter now, anyway”. This Guilt focuses on false resolutions and instant solutions. This Chief Feature and Guilt is the primary contributor of domestic violence. MORE ON GUILT Guilt is taught. Guilt is learned. Not everyone experiences Guilt. Those people who do not experience Guilt, Invasively or Pervasively, are many times a target for those who are Guilt-ridden. It is considered most inappropriate to not obviously show some form of Guilt for something in your life. We disagree and say that those who feel no Guilt are most aware, mutually considerate, comfortable with his or her boundaries, and freely managing his or her Centers as a form of navigation through the life and the lives of others. Though Guilt is linked to a Chief Feature, and in many cases your own Chief Feature may the source of that Guilt, we would suggest that, in most cases, the Guilt experienced has more to do with the person who IMPRINTED the idea of Guilt upon you. This could be a schoolteacher, a parent, a sibling, or a group who shared a Chief Feature freely. Guilt is learned during the second internal monad, along with the word “no”; around the time you learn mobility of your own (about the age of 2). Depending on the ROLE of the Imprinter, your Guilt may be a connected with the Guilt instilled from the Imprinter. Despite the fact that Guilt is linked to Chief Features, each Role can also become adept at inducing a specific Guilt reaction from other fragments, regardless of either party’s habitual Chief Features. Here are the Guilts as they relate to each Role: Servers = Self-deprecating Guilt Artisans = Self-destructive Guilt Warriors = Martyrdom Guilt Scholars = Stubbornness Guilt Sages = Greed Guilt Priests = Arrogance Guilt Kings = Impatience Guilt Imprinted Guilt can carry for generations, beginning with, and retaining the strength induced from the original imprinter’s ROLE. ALLEVIATING GUILT In terms of what you can do to alleviate Guilt, it is best to evaluate exactly which Guilt is being utilized most obviously. It will be easy to think your Guilt is a combination of Guilts, but one will stand out, and that is where you can start. This can take some evaluation, but with a little specific observation, it can be done. Based on your conclusion as to which Guilt you are most prone to inducing in others, or reacting from, you can then learn to dismantle this seductive pattern. Now that we have delineated the types of Guilt, offered some phrases that might help you to recognize their “voice”, and differentiated their possible sources, we will now discuss the means to dismantle Guilt and address some questions. There are many individual ways created to handle Guilt, but we will share three ways that are universally applicable. Before we delve into these areas, we feel it necessary to understand the dynamics of BLAME. Blame is simply “unclaimed” anger or unprocessed anger (anger=disappointment), many times the results of defense against the feeling of Guilt. Blame acts as a holding space, a buffer, for the person who is experiencing Guilt, whether this Guilt is self-imposed or allowed in from another source. Blame creates a false space for “healing” while deflecting Guilt, providing justification for doing nothing. For instance, a person may feel angry because of another person’s behavior, but may then feel self-induced Guilt for feeling angry, deflecting his experience of Guilt through the use of Blame, then internally or verbally taking a stance. This deflection leaves the work of processing to someone else. This method is usually highly ineffective, and even when apparently effective, it is without true resolution. We bring up Blame because in the first tool for dismantling, there may be a tendency to point to a source for your Guilt, and then to Blame that source, rather than do the work to dismantle its hold. Instead, it is a False Personality reaction as a means to make space, to attempt to center the self. Instead of creating space for centering self, the personality finds security in the Blame, and leaves it at that. If you choose the route of Blame, we do not have an inclination to steer you one way or another, but we do mention here that many times, Blame can result in a fragile immune system. In short, Blame is the want for another fragment to claim responsibility for the results of your own choices or reactions. TOOLS FOR DISMANTLING Accepting and Maintaining Your Own Healthy Boundaries When you believe your Guilt has been Imprinted or Induced: ”Photograph” the moments (capture the moment mentally for conscious examination) when/where Guilt is experienced. It is not necessary to determine the form of Guilt, in terms of the Chief Features, unless you choose to delve deeper. All that is required of this method is the realization that some interpretation of an event or action has become based on someone else’s ideas, imprinting, or impositions, and that you are not required to validate someone else’s fears. Guilt can be self-induced or allowed in through the influences of an outside source, but the choice is always yours to utilize it against yourself or not. We can suggest that in situations allowing for some amount of flexibility to state quietly, internally, “This isn’t mine.” If appropriate, this statement can be spoken aloud, gently and peacefully, if you believe the party involved can “hear” you. It is important to note: no matter how much of a benefit you can see Guilt providing, it is still an experience that is not necessary for an individual to endure or grow; therefore, it is your individual choice to release it, retain it, or impose it, but it is never necessary or beneficial. To summarize, the first and most accessible method for dealing with Guilt, which is often induced from external sources, is in the simple noting and releasing of the moment it occurs. This fluidity will generate a “smoother surface” to your self and as Guilt is experienced in the future, or an imposition attempted, the event will “slide off” more and more easily. Transform the Guilt (play along) For some forms of Guilt, you simply may be refusing or avoiding taking the actions that may alleviate that Guilt. You will know if this is the method for you if you have a “haunting” feeling about what you “could have done” or “should have done”, or “could do” to “fix it”. Guilt is only as meaningful as your accommodation of another’s fear, or your own. This means that no Guilt is ever truly valid, however insidiously interpreted, integrated, or implemented. With that in mind, “playing along” and moving through the energy that is the Guilt, can lead to a transformation of that Guilt. This can be further understood in the phrase, “the only way out is through”. It will be your task to determine what steps are needed as a means to follow through and transform the experience of Guilt. A simplified example may be the “giving in” and saying the guilt-induced, expected “Bless you” to the person who has just sneezed, even when you personally feel this form of exchange is silly. That action accommodates the Guilt (plays along), but moves you through to a resolution, nonetheless. You may then find that you can reinterpret the situation as it arises, changing the event to mean more that a sneeze affords you an opportunity to kindly acknowledge someone. You can decide that when you say the “blessing”, you will mean it, rather than feel the pressure and Guilt as your motivation. We never encourage acting against individually defined parameters, however, to accommodate the Guilt to a point that you can then transform an experience, this method can be empowering. Your accommodation of some forms of Guilt may require something far stronger and long-term in its process than our simple example above. It may require that you move the Guilt to a more diffused state, thus creating a more manageable level of Guilt. This can be done through the act of True Apology. True Apology IS NOT the solution. True Apology is dissolution. True Apology is the act of breaking down an accumulated event for the purpose of generating mutual resolve. We do not guarantee its success of course, but we have seen that apologetic acknowledgement, however fearfully induced, can tend to soothe all fragments involved, allowing for progression away from Guilt and into peace. If True Apology is not accepted verbally, it may require that you take meaningful actions, communicate innovatively, allow vulnerability, anything to bring you to the level with which you feel the Guilt is moving you to make something “right”. Apology is not going to remove the Guilt; it will merely make it more manageable, which is why false apologies are mistaken as solutions. Many times, brooding over whether to take an action or not, only breeds more Guilt. Taking actions, thinking things through as to what you can do to “make things better for now”, may very well diffuse a pattern. You can then take ever more appropriate actions to reach freedom and peace. In short, method two would be to “do something about it”, putting Guilt in a position more clearly defined and manageable, acknowledged and potentially less powerful. Accepting and Living with Guilt This is the level with which a person may need to turn if all means for addressing the Guilt are unavailable or too overwhelming. It would not be amiss in this case to resign, surrender to the Guilt. If you are in this position, you have reached a place that some part of you feels “deserves” the Guilt. It is then that you may submit to your experience, indulge, and rest into it. This will stop the internal struggles; allow your “messages” and “lessons” to be heard, moving you to a space where you can eventually take action (as in method two), and finally bring you to the potential capability of alleviating Guilt altogether (as in method one). THE EMPOWERING TRIAD It may have been noticed by some students that this process is the empowering Triad, with method one being Negative, method two being Positive, and method three being Neutral. If you are unfamiliar with this process of the Triad, we can summarize by simply stating that all motion and progress moves through these phases in some order: Positive (the more active aspect of the event), Negative (the more internal or inactive aspect of the event), Neutral (the place between the other poles, allowing the experience to just BE). QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS [Qitara] Is guilt ever appropriate? Say, if one were to murder another, would guilt be the appropriate feeling for that action to keep one from doing it again, or would remorse be more appropriate? [Michael_Entity]: We have never seen Guilt act as a deterrent. It is a delay of many things, including the “lessons” brought to bear through the experience, but certainly not a means for creating valid growth. Guilt’s only “purpose” is to satisfy another fragment’s ideals that you have either allowed or had imposed upon you. As we have stated, it may be falsely satisfying to see a murderer, or even a person who bumps you in line, feeling degrees of Guilt, but it only serves fear. It will always be your choice to choose love or fear, and you are free to choose the false satisfaction fear presents, but we do encourage choices based in Love only because, as sentience, it “feels better” and serves the apparently inevitable search for reunion. What keeps a murderer from murdering again is determined through love, not fear. Guilt, remorse, regret, grief may be a chosen path for many as a means to discover love, but it is inefficient, however popular. As the soul grows, so does its efficiency in gathering and processing experiences for evolution. This is why the Old Soul begins to choose less Guilt and regrets for the life. In the case of a murderer, a larger perspective is needed to truly grasp the nature of the event and this simply is not an easy task, especially in any culture other than an Old Soul culture. The irony is that by the time an Essence can understand the nature of murder, it no longer participates in it. In other words, the act of murdering, itself, removes most capabilities for understanding the event. Thus, Guilt is ineffective and would only serve as a protective measure. The Murderer will have his or her time between lives to grasp the nature of the event to its fullest. Murder is understood through grasping the nature of the event for what it IS, not as it “should be” or “should have been”, and this allows the Murderer to learn new ways of making choices. So in answer to the question as to whether Guilt is ever appropriate, we would say we have never seen it to be appropriate to what its supposed intent is. [Carolyn] Michael said that apology is always fear-based, and I understand that most guilt is useless and counterproductive. But in a perfect world we’d always look where we’re going and never miss appointments & never get so excited that we spill our beer on somebody at a hockey game. However, that is not the case, and with the current trend of rudeness & “in-your-face” verbal exchanges, I can’t see how NOT apologizing for the occasional faux pas we all make is going to improve the situation. Those little apologetic exchanges between strangers, especially, seem to “grease the wheels” of social interactions that might otherwise be highly unpleasant or even violent. Or am I missing their point here? [Michael_Entity]: We have stated clearly that to “apologize” is strongly supported and recognized as important in your culture; it is the only means you have for satisfaction at this point, for certain exchanges. This will continue to be the case as you move from a Young Soul culture to a Mature Soul culture. Passive apologizing can even be attributed to the early Mature Soul thinking, in general, used for the purposes of “improving” basic cultural and social interactions among the soul ages. It is a crossover from the “rudeness” of the Young Soul to the “recognition of others” inherent among the Mature Souls. In this context, apology is seen as meaningful and valid, but as we have stated many times now, it is simply inefficient and serves to support something other than what it appears to be supporting. To make the point: when your culture recognizes “a step on the foot”, or “the spilling of a beer”, or “the lateness of an attendance” as not personally intended, your culture will be free from Guilt. When you no longer require punishment or retribution for simple “faux pas”, you are free. We do not suggest you stop apologizing altogether. To apologize or not, whether passively or truthfully, is your choice. We were merely responding to this within the topic of Guilt. When in a situation that you deem calls for apology from yourself, you may be using method two as described above to process the Guilt and move forward. This, then, can be considered Good Work. It is another situation entirely when you require another fragment, or another fragment expects you, to behave within the confines of Guilt. To use True Apology to move through a situation is valid, but to expect it or to impose it, is the potential weaving of shared karmic ribbons or self-karma. Question 1) Do the different guilt types surface according to different situations? Do they occasionally work in tandem? [Michael_Entity]: Yes, to the first question: Guilt will adjust to circumstances. It is ‘source-induced’, ‘self-induced’ or ‘situational-induced’, each relating to a Chief Feature expression. Source-induced means that another individual was allowed to influence your perceptions, creating conflict internally. The Chief Feature would be related to their source. Self-induced relates to the general impact of your own Chief Features against certain events. Situational-induced means you choose to behave in a way that the situation imposes or requires. This can be called ‘culturally-induced’ as well. This is where the pervasive need for apology can be found. In answer to your second question, yes, more than one Chief Feature can easily be found in many situations of Guilt. Question 2) Would positive affirmations help as a tool in dismantling guilt? I’ve been playing around with affirmations designed to “fit” my Overleaves, esp. the CFs, to try and keep myself closer to the positive poles. Too early to tell if it’s working… [Michael_Entity]: Affirmations are only as effective as an individual believes them to be. Most affirmations are “bridges” across a situation and can allow you to refrain from indulgence in fears, but it is through your actions and responses that a belief (affirmation) becomes personally effective and true. For instance, you may go your entire life hearing repeated affirmations of your Beauty, and with one comment that you are ugly, it is all shattered. It is clear that the power here remains in your ability to respond and act within your own parameters. No amount of affirming will change you, unless actions, thoughts, and feelings are accepting of those affirmations. We see affirmations as a means to carry you briefly through a moment or event, but we have seen little, if any, effect in transforming anything on their own. Question 3) I’m not real clear on Martyrdom Guilt. Would Michael elaborate on this one a little, and/or anybody out there who “gets it,” can you post an example of how it manifests? I’m just not getting a concrete picture of it. [Michael_Entity]: We stated the Guilt as focused on “false consolation” and its voice as being “I didn’t mean to” or “that wasn’t supposed to happen”. To elaborate, this voice comes from having ulterior motives, lack of direction, or a sense of lacking control over an event. When the event unfolds against the ideal, the Martyr Guilt will remove responsibility by stating that he “didn’t mean to have it end up this way”. As an example, those with Martyrdom Guilt can sometimes assume responsibilities of no interest to the fragment. These responsibilities are taken on for various, seemingly noble, reasons, but the Martyr eventually begins to realize he is overwhelmed or uninterested. As the responsibilities unfold, the Martyr reassures himself that “things are under control” or that he will eventually deal with the responsibilities or situation. When asked if events are under control, he becomes defensive or offended at the implications. Meanwhile, responsibilities continue to go unmet, actions taken are inaccurate and miscalculated because of lack of real motivation, and the Martyr begins to formulate more defenses. When the truth surfaces that nothing valid or expected was accomplished, the Martyr states that “I didn’t mean to have this happen!”, or “SEE? I tried and failed!” or “I guess I messed EVERYTHING UP then!” This defense has the potential to send others into a state of reassurance of the Martyr, telling him, “no, you did just fine”, while the Martyr is secretly relieved from the expectations he volunteered upon himself. Another simple example is a parent or spouse who speaks of “failing the family” or relationship, and moving others to relieve him or her. In general, Martyrdom Guilt is used to generate pressured and false consolation so as to avoid recognition that responsibility is being avoided. It can also be used to evade the acceptance and responsibility of the very real changes to the life path, based on the results of previous choices. Martyrdom Guilt can also be used to amplify what little the Martyr has actually done, inducing Guilt from others if they express disappointment, making them painfully aware of “All he’s done for you”. These are simplified and general examples, but we believe these to be clear enough. [Sharon] My questions regarding guilt and the guilt channeling have to do with trying to understand more of this Michael Terminology, the overleaf system, and how to foil the good ole CF in the first place, by understanding when I am in a negative pole of a “leaf” or just doing a Chief Feature. [Michael_Entity]: It is safe to assume yourself as False Personality (in negative poles) when you feel distinctly afraid, reactive, defensive, or any factor that creates a space between yourself and your life or another person. It is safe to assume yourself as True Personality (in positive poles) when you are in awe, asking for help, feeling connected to your life and others of your choice, and feeling safe. Though we would need to spend more time on this topic to fulfill it, we can say a couple of things here. ALL Overleaves sent to the Negative Pole were sent there through the Chief Feature. Your PRIMARY Chief Feature blocks your Goal, whereas your SECONDARY Chief Feature blocks your Mode. The Primary is experienced personally and creates ineffectiveness of the life force used for personal endeavors, related to the Goal. The Secondary is felt as the block between yourself and another, in relationships and intimacy. The Overleaf most effective in dismantling the Chief Feature is the ATTITUDE. Focusing entirely on your Attitude, moving to the Positive Pole, removes all influence from Chief Feature. We realize this is briefly addressed here, but it is a picture that may bring some realization and understanding for now. [Kim] Michael discussed how guilt could manifest through CF’s. I was wondering what about other Overleaves? Because I see how guilt can be related to some of my other Overleaves as well. Does anyone else see how guilt relates to his or her other Overleaves? [Michael_Entity]: The other Overleaves are merely extensions of the Chief Features when they are in the Negative Poles. Chief Features are “not real” without the expression through a vehicle, the Negative Poles of a Personality. Though you may find some correlations in the Overleaves as related to Guilt, it is not as consistent as directly addressing the Chief Features and the tool of Guilt as it relates to them. For instance, a person in Impatience can have a Goal of Acceptance or a Goal of Growth, and it will still be Impatience that sends either Goal to the Negative Pole when in Guilt.

And, if there is any information specific to my body types that could shed light on why I easily fall into pessimism and despair when faced with challenges, I would appreciate some specific focus on that (and how to improve on it, to be more RESILIENT and POSITIVE, specifically, in the face of challenges where I cannot immediately see a solution.) ... [MEntity] The Body Type mix would appear to be Lunar/Venus/Mercury at approximately 15%/60%/25% respectively, as Nature/Appearance/Health respectively. ... For the Appearance/Venus, more tangible contact with the world is necessary here for balance and healing. This Body Type is healed through affection. This is not only in terms of physical affection, but in terms of resonance to the environment around the body. This body has desires, strong desires, and if not followed can become cravings, longings, and aching. If it is not available or inappropriate for shared affection with others, it is just as meaningful to caress your own arm, to gently caress your face, run your hand through hair, hug the self, treat the self, and generally allow as much pleasure as possible. This contributes to the feeling of representing the beauty you feel inside. One does not have to physically match the standards of beauty in marketing to feel beautiful, but to physically match the sense of beauty within through the treatment of the self, and others.

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks - August 3, 2003 - Open Q&A] [Anla899]: What are ways to synchronize personality and Essence on a day to day basis? [MichaelEntity]: There are three very simple and effective ways of synchronizing Essence with Personality: Writing to Essence, Talking to Essence, or Meditating to Essence. [Anla899]: How do we do those? [MichaelEntity]: Most fragments assume that Essence “knows all” about the lifetime being lived, but that is not the case. Essence only “knows” what YOU inform it of, which is why some lives can seem to spiral out of control, reaching a point where crisis is the only time the Personality seeks to contact its soul. Essence can only experience your life THROUGH you. There are moments within the life called “Instinctive Review” wherein the Personality “uploads” the experiences of the life to-date and Essence can then help to direct the life, if the Personality will allow it. Otherwise, it is up to Personality to keep the lines of communication clear and up-to-date. Keeping any form of a journal, whether daily or weekly or monthly can help keep Personality and Essence in contact and more united. For journaling, simply write about your life, stating clearly what it is you seek to change, stating clearly about areas in which you believe you would like help from Essence. Keep a log of your dreams and observe the changes you are recording by looking at patterns in your days, your choices, and reactions, dreams, etc. Keeping a journal is like remaining gently conscious of what it is you want, need, and keeping Essence included in that. Some of you may benefit from simply speaking out loud to Essence, treating this part of you as an actual “invisible friend” who is humorous and caring. State to your Essence occasionally how you feel your life is going, asking for help, or giving gratitude when it is felt. This can be done as ritualistically as prayer or as playfully as making comments throughout your day. And finally, some may be inclined to use Meditation for continual contact with Essence. We say Meditation as it includes any practice of focus whether through calming of the body and turning inward, or through running, exercising, doing a puzzle, etc. In those instances of Meditation, however you choose to meditate, remember to invite your Essence to access your Instinctive Center where all experiences are stored. These three methods can keep Essence continually updated and your life continually synchronized, instead of having to go through startling revelations during the scheduled Instinctive Reviews. [Additional information: Michael explained later that the reason for writing, speaking, or meditation, rather than just random inner dialogue, is not only due to the fact that those three methods engage all of the Lower Centers, but that they also help refine what it is you wish to communicate, rather than all of the random worries, fears, anxiousness, etc.] [schleiv]: how often are those reviews?     [Excerpt from Michael Speaks: November 2009] [Question] Hello Michael, I know that several of us here today are Cadre 1 Entity 2, could you elaborate on how this cadre/entity is manifesting itself, what we are teaching in our current global community? [Michael Entity] Cadre 1, Entity 2 appears to be manifesting itself, as usual, in the struggle and implementation of Stability over Balance. Nearly every fragment from that Entity over the physical age of 20 has “pulled back from life” in a way that is figuratively holding Balance in one hand, and Stability in the other. All Entity 2s struggle within the spectrum between Balance and Stability, and eventually the Entity, collectively, “gets it” and a wave of realization moves among the members. Currently, the majority of Entity 2 members of Cadre 1 appear to be in a state of limbo, unsure of how to go forward with Stability in “the real world.” Withdrawing from life, so to speak, has given the glimpses of Stability that can now begin to make sense as feasible. How to bring that back out into the world of “living life” still escapes most of the members currently exploring this. What most Entity 2 members learn to do is the equivalent of placing two feet on a plank of wood that rests on a ball, teetering and rocking and rolling on that ball, feet planted squarely, and as long as one does not fall, it passes as Stability. However, all energy goes into just staying atop the ball, and this tends to be exhausting, and most eventually “fall” (get ill, have an accident, move into crisis) as a means to just get some rest, because despite the fact that those experiences are often traumatic, they at least offer a stability that is not a part of life when balancing atop the ball. Stability is when the ball is removed, and both feet are, figuratively. on solid ground. We describe this to you as a process, and not as one way being better than another. Many Entity 2 members will gladly state how exciting the Balance on the ball can be, and the “falling off” gives life meaning. Balance is a state that requires division within for the sake of managing the life. Stability is when the life comes into a state of wholeness that does not require compartmentalization, division, juggling, etc. We know many members of Entity 2 are extremists. Extremism is a form of Balance, going from one extreme to another on a regular basis. All or Nothing. Eventually the realization comes that life does not have to be “all or nothing.” This spectrum of manifestation described for Entity 2 is not unfamiliar to many fragments who are not a part of an Entity 2, so this information may be applicable to you, regardless of your Entity number. However, our descriptions for Entity themes do describe the inherent, condensed, and consistent priorities of an Entity within a Cadre. Entity 2 of Cadre 1 is currently themed in the reality and implementation of “growing up,” or being a “grown up,” regardless of the age of the Personality. Stability, “growing up,” and manifesting Soul Age, which has regularly been equated with something akin to death for many in Entity 2, is now starting to be seen as something appealing, even if that appeal is confusing. The teachings of Entity 2, then, could be described as themed in “how to sustain and nurture innocence and joy along with the process of maturing.”

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks: December 2009] [Question] Hello, Michael. 1)Who was this mysterious Mikao Usui who created the modern Reiki System? 2)What were his overleaves? 3) From your perspective, what is this REIKI or SPIRITUAL ENERGY that practitioners channel…4) what are the factors that have made this practice so popular around the world? [Michael Entity] For purposes of this format of exchange, we will share a brief response to each of the questions. The fragment known as Mikao appears to be a Warrior-cast Priest who recognized the validity of subtle energies and their capacity for being harnessed and directed. The energy that is harnessed and directed is not unique to the practice called “Reiki,” but that system does help bring tangible tools to the process of using the energy. The same energy could be said to be shared from the exchange of laughter, awe, and happiness or pleasure. The modern system referred to as “Reiki” has become highly political and hierarchical in many circles, but we see that this has begun to deconstruct and return to its roots in many ways. Both the political structure and this deconstruction have their flaws. The political structure is a false hierarchy of learning that can bring about false healers who have gained credibility by simply paying enough money to buy a label. The deconstructing of this political structure requires little more than reading a book and can bring about delusional exchanges of “healing” that are little more than nice thoughts. Knowing the extremes of that spectrum, we would say that the only valid method for developing the strengths capable for use of energy in this way would be through practice, feedback, and tangible evidence of effect. The energy that is used is the basic “life force” of your universe. This life force could be understood through the analogy of a computer screen that allows for a cursor to move through the pixels and light, showing up as itself wherever it is, but literally connected entirely to everything on that screen. “Reiki” then could be said to be that affect that allows for the repair of a pixel, or pixels, bringing light back, so to speak, to areas of the screen that have dimmed or have gone out. In the same way that a piano can be played by any of you, so can Reiki (or energetic healing) be practiced. However, to continue the analogy, in the same way that one can simply peck at the keys, or pound on the keys to make noise, so too can some “healers” generate energy that has no effect, or only brings irritation. And in the same way that one can learn to play a piano beautifully on one’s own, through an instructor, or through a hierarchical fee plan, so can healing be learned. The piano and the noise it generates is up to the player, and how that player learns to play is up to the player. It just so happens that “Reiki” has come to be a recognizable system, and for that matter can lend itself as a strong platform for the work that a healer might wish to do. No direct harm can come from false healers, but irritation, and distraction from legitimate care, can certainly have effects.

    [Excerpt from TT: 2007-04-04] FROM MICHAEL: The dynamic that we have always seen among our little groups of students has been a dynamic that is as ancient as your commitment as students. It is not amiss to state that your creation and resolution of these scenarios are, indeed, a PART of your commitment as students in terms of your implementation of your work with the teaching. It is also not amiss to state that to the extent that your groups understand our teaching is the extent to which your groups are not repelled from one another. There will always be various groups with various angles of emphasis and to understand this is to grasp the true nature of “true community.” We do not require a close-knit group of students across the world, but as your world is “smaller” now than it was when we began teaching, the fantasy of a global community has been met with the reality of different approaches, methods, expressions, digestions, and implementations of our teaching. True Community would find a cohesiveness only under the umbrella of a general, overall “mission statement” that is carefully free of restrictions and details, but encouraging of variety and creativity in the implementation of that mission. All who wish to contribute to, and exist within, the True Community of The Michael Teachings would find this mission statement to be inspiring and unaffected. The “mission statement” could be said to be the WHAT of a True Community and offered as a kind of banner of invitation across the board. It would not be complicated or difficult for all of our active students to generate this with ease and find meaningful agreement among all. Within the True Community then, it could be clarified by each group who wishes to form, either by intention or natural gravitation, an eventual description of the HOW that the group brings to the WHAT. It is usually a fairly clear pattern that can be seen to emerge from a formation of a group, and more specifically, from the source of the formation of a group. Those who create, guide, and nurture a group are more than likely the source of the HOW. Having this clarified can bring great peace to those who wish participate in a group by implementing their tool of CHOICE in the matter of HOW one wishes to contribute and interact toward the WHAT. In other words, while the True Community has a shared GOAL, each group defines its own MODE. More accurately, it could be said that a True Community shares an AXIS of emphasis related to one of the Goals on that axis, as well as a shared Axis of emphasis related to one of the MODES on that Axis. Our teaching at this time in the 21st Century tends to create True Community with an emphasis on the EXPRESSIVE Axis, with an emphasis on DISCRIMINATION. Within each group there will be a bringing of philosophical stances (Attitudes) that explore the HOW, or MODE. In most cases, all 7 Philosophies/Attitudes are represented to some degree, but a primary axis of philosophy will become the general atmosphere, with a dominate divide representing one of the axis: SKEPTIC/IDEALIST (expressive), CYNIC/REALIST (action), STOIC/SPIRITUALIST (inspiration), OBSERVATION (assimilation)/other. Again, as with the Mode, the creator and nurturer of a group will most likely set the atmosphere for the primary philosophy, in turn generating the general CENTERING of a group as it relates to that philosophy. TRUE COMMUNITY of The Michael Teachings would easily find common ground in the understanding that this teaching (at this time) emphasizes a strength in DISCRIMINATION, in the refinement of choice, in the ability to discern materially, intellectually, and emotionally, and to find peace in the expression of that in the world at large, as well as in the most personal circles of your world. For the next 100 years or so, our students will more than likely have the emphasis on living the teachings as a means to explore TRUE CHOICE. In the 1900’s, our teaching had its emphasis in GROWTH, exploring TRUE COMPREHENSION. TROY’S GROUP, for lack of a better way of referencing this channel’s students and agreements that have come to form as a group, is a PASSIONATE Group, with an emphasis on true self-actualization as a means of increasing strength of choice. Nothing within this group will ever be “neutral” and nothing within this group will ever be “simple.” Passion Mode as a means of exploring Discrimination is a turbulent and exciting path, and in the end, all involved know EXACTLY where one stands on an issue of choice, exactly who one is in relation to an issue of choice, and feels inspired to own one’s self fully and lovingly, leaving the false aspects of self behind. In addition to this, our teaching will never be presented in this atmosphere without an emphasis on its being a source of inspiration, transformation, and meaningful depth. Nothing will be presented as a simple subject of observational study. It must be deeply explored, lived, and experienced before this group can move beyond that particular aspect of study. This can often feel tedious and tiring, with a repetitive review of “old” material (sometimes seen as “ad nauseum”) that is less-exciting than ever-new material (from us or from you), but that is simply the nature of Passion and Discrimination. It is not just a matter of learning how to choose, and choosing how to learn, but building on the comprehension gained over the last century as to exactly what has been chosen and the how and why of it. As Passion is Exalted, this group will also strive to be all-inclusive in its inspiration as a method of refinement for Choice, but Passion with Discrimination can be tricky because Discrimination will emphasize a discerning eye against all things not passionately inclusive, which can seem to create bizarre conflicts of interest, since one cannot please everyone, or cater to every wish or demand, but must also allow room for all of those differences. What we have described is mostly the higher end of what this group has as potential, but this same combination can fall prey to what would seem to be the extreme opposite, with an emphasis on exclusivity, superficial nods to concepts without encouraging depth of experience, and such a strong investment in an identity that the nature of community is lost altogether in the shadow of a fearful agenda. All of this is made even more interesting by the philosophical atmosphere of Idealism, which is the key to his successful or failed group. When the group has moved into a Naivete and has presented grand arcs of direction without understanding the actual steps needing to be made as a path along that arc (Coalescence), the group will fail to live up to its ideals and lose all sense of inspiration and choice. When the group is failing against its ideals, it may slide into phases of Rejection (being rejected, or rejecting), Identification (experiencing loss of self, rather than exploration of self), and Rationalization (offering excuses and defense, rather than insight). Contrary to what many students may believe, Troy’s Group is an Intellectually-Centered Group with an emphasis on EXPRESSION, and not an Emotionally-Centered Group. For those involved with his group, any curtailing of EXPRESSION can be experienced as tantamount to an absolute removal of validity of self and soul. DAVE’S GROUP, for lack of a better way of referencing this student’s group and agreements that have come to form, is also a PASSIONATE group. The first many lines of what we have said about Troy’s Group can be said for Dave’s Group, as well. This is often why both groups are so strongly repelled and connected at the same time, depending on each group’s place in the spectrum between positive and negative poles. When one group is emphasizing exclusivity while the other is emphasizing inclusivity, there will be repulsion between the two. When one group emphasizes self-actualization while the other emphasizes an investment in an identity, there will be repulsion. The philosophical atmosphere of Dave’s Group is rooted in Cynicism, creating a natural environment of high activity and constant debate, which is the nature of this Moving-Centered Philosophy. Cynicism at its best keeps all levels of reality in check with a healthy contradiction to all presumptions and assumptions. Contradiction will always be a natural element within Dave’s Group, as the basic philosophy is to look beyond the obvious, and this can be invigorating and provocative. However, when Cynicism has moved into a state of denigration, there is no longer an emphasis on looking beyond the obvious, but in controlling what appears to be obvious (the nature of denigration). In addition to this, Cynicism is often carefully misrepresented as being Realism, but this is usually when Cynicism is in the extreme negative Pole; it is quite common to dismiss the impact of a denigrating philosophy when one can present it as simply being “realistic.” The success of Dave’s group would be in its open debates and encouragement of contributions that contradict the common-denominator of assumptions involved with this teaching. The failure of this group would be in its efforts to control debates, and present false realities as a way to impose a common-denominator of perception, losing all sense of productivity and choice. When failure is impending, this group would fall into phases of Rejection (rejecting, or being rejected), Identification (losing self, as opposed to exploring self), and Freneticism (repetitive behavior that yields repetitively-unproductive results). We wish to remind you that we have no investment in one group over another as we can see the whole of each and while each move through phases of failure and success, each are valid contributors to valuable experiences in relation to our teaching. It should also be noted that each group has its own teaching as it relates to what is offered to your Personality for the lifetime, which is part of your attraction to one or more group’s energy. Troy’s Group emphasizes a teaching and process of a spectrum of experiences related to SELF-RESPONSIBILITY, while Dave’s Group emphasizes a teaching and process of a spectrum of experiences related to SELF-KARMA. Although we can elaborate on all of this, we believe this is a wide-enough response to current dynamics that would allow the opportunity for healthy exchanges among Personalities, inviting a movement from False Personality to True Personality, not only on an individual level, but on the collective levels of your groups within the true community. We also realize that there are many more groups than these explored here, and we can respond with our perception of any other group if there is an interest.

Troy: Once committed, unless the species goes extinct, the Sentience is committed to the entire reincarnational cycles as that species. The exception is if that species is among many similar sentient species living within close proximity; then, incarnations can jump around in those species (think of cetaceans). Even early humans were of various species, technically.

    [Excerpt from NWM: Blind Spots of Attitude ] MEntity: SPIRITUALISTS The Spiritualist, basically, sees life as if it has never been seen before. There is an awe as an undercurrent to the basic philosophy of the life when at its best. The Spiritualist looks for signs, interconnectedness, resonance, and meaning in "everything." This is why they must VERIFY, the Positive Pole. So much of "everything" can be interpreted as messages, interconnectedness, signs, etc. that life can become a din of symbolism that drowns out all of the messages. When the Spiritualist is overwhelmed by the messages and meaning of life, they can retreat into an isolating system of BELIEFS that removes the noise of life, and simply decides what is true, decides what people mean, decides what will happen, decides what happened, and that is that. If the Spiritualist believes it, then it happened. That is that. Now the world is interpreted through that system of Belief, and the inconvenience of Verifying lets the Spiritualist simply decide what is true. This is the obvious polarization within the Spiritualist, and most older souls begin to realize this and make the effort to Verify. They do not let themselves simply decide what is true; they ask questions. They question themselves. They are OK with being wrong. They allow room for nuance and context so that nothing is only True or Not True. However, the Blind Spot then comes into play as these polarities come to be navigated more consciously. For the Spiritualist, this Blind Spot is EXCUSES. The Spiritualist can tend to justify his or her behaviors, attitude, and choices by deferring to "the universe" as the force behind the reasoning for those choices, attitudes, and behaviors. By "the universe" we mean circumstances, behaviors of others, obligations, responsibilities, expectations of meaning and message. Though all Attitudes may be use this method, it is often the Spiritualists who "leave it up to the Universe," or "we'll see what happens," etc. The Spiritualist takes a passive seat to the efforts necessary for choice. This allows two things: Beliefs to stay intact, and responsibility to be evaded. In other words, the Spiritualist may find that he or she always has an Excuse. If the Spiritualist is upset, there is a "reason." It is not merely that he or she interpreted events through Belief. If the Spiritualist does not succeed at an expectation or intention, then it is "the universe" who decided this, not that the Spiritualist merely need alter or adapt efforts. And so BELIEF remains unquestioned.

I want to live up to my beliefs, but it seems impossible to do 100%. How much is enough not to be a hypocrite? [Michael_Entity] “Beliefs” is a word that represents all the things that you presume to be possible or true, and seek to implement within your Being as foundations, but you do not have the experience or comprehension to turn those beliefs into knowledge. When you KNOW something, you implement it 100%. When you BELIEVE something, you may or may not implement the entirety of the belief. Older Souls in particular have a difficult time implementing beliefs until there is a sense of solid knowledge. Until you gain knowledge, all you have is a theory, not a truth. The lack of ability to implement a belief is not a matter of hypocrisy, but a matter of integrity that allows room for further investigation, experience, and eventually knowledge. Hypocrisy is only valid as a reference when one imposes beliefs upon others without doing the work of turning those personal beliefs into knowledge. It is called hypocrisy because there is always a discrepancy between the imposition and the behavior of the hypocrite, with the hypocrite using imposition as his or her way of avoiding knowledge, while enforcing false validation of his or her own beliefs.

    Michael's Teaching can be summed up in one, single quote:"You are here to learn how to choose, and to choose how to learn."There really is no better way of conveying this Teaching's bottom line than through that deceptively simple statement.Michael teaches that we are making Choices on many levels at all times, as a Personality and as a Soul. Our Soul journeys through many, many lives, learning about itself, the universe, and everything by using and evolving that one basic tool: CHOICE.They go further to say that there are no Bad choices, only experiences and the lessons gained from those experiences. NOTHING is wasted; not even the most boring or painful of lifetimes. We simply learn to make better Choices as we gain awareness and as we gain experience. While Michael doesn't use the terms "good" or "bad," they still acknowledge that we eventually learn to make the choices that bring us (and others) more freedom, acceptance, pleasure, and growth.This philosophy of Choice frees you from destructive criticism against yourself and others while encouraging your potential to learn from your so-called "mistakes." Within this philosophy, even self-criticism and fear about your Choices is still not a "bad" choice, it's just one Choice of many available to you in any moment. It will always be up to you to decide when to choose more gently and lovingly.And finally, Michael teaches that there is ALWAYS Choice available. Even the Choice not to Choose... is a Choice. No matter how difficult our lives may become, we always have the powerful tool of Choice as a means to make a difference.
