  1. May 16, 2002 Troy Tolley, Channel You and your attitude [M_Entity] Hello to all of you. We are here. We understand the topic to be that of Attitudes as they are defined within our teaching. Of course, there are 7 Attitudes, as there are 7 of every other Overleaf in our system. The 7 Attitudes are the Neutral or Assimilative PRAGMATIST, the Inspirational Stoic and Spiritualist, the Expressional Skeptic and Idealist, and the Actional Cynic and Realist. The Attitudes are specifically your personal means to interpret reality. The Attitudes could easily be said to be The 7 Basic Philosophies, as much of what is our more complete system now has been found isolated in various teachings throughout the ages. Each Attitude can easily find a correlation of a philosophy, which can shed a great deal of light on your personal Attitude. The Attitude could be said to be the “pivot” or “hinge” within our Personality System around which all other facets of your Personality move. Because the Attitude is intrinsically linked to your Intellect, the Attitude can “make or break” your sense of peace, trust, wholeness, etc. Whether you are Intellectually Centered or not, you still have an Intellect, and that Intellect works hard to interpret and make sense of reality. So, too, does your Attitude. It will go a long way toward freeing you from the traps of the Attitude and Intellect if you understand that it is not necessarily “the point” to “make sense” of reality, because literally, it is the opposite: your senses MAKE reality. Though we say your Attitude “interprets” reality, it may be more effective to understand that your Attitude “filters” reality. Both are valid descriptions. Though an Attitude is far from an imposition, it CAN be a limitation if you find you are not able to function within your ;particular Attitude's full spectrum of use. It can easily be said that, from the absolute worst struggles, to the most trivial of frustrations, these experiences are directly a reflection of how you are using your Attitude. When your Attitude is in its Negative Pole, regardless of what that may be, you have determined that you have completed your need for input for your basic philosophical stance. When the Negative Pole of the Attitude is in control, reality loses its creativity and flexibility, and instead becomes a tangled mess that must be understood immediately, even if the means to do so have not even come to pass. We can speak generally of Attitudes because the basic experience is quite consistent; it is the HOW of it all that is different among them. For instance, an Idealist in the Negative Pole and a Cynic in the Negative Pole will both share the struggle of trying to understand something within a limitation of input, but the Idealist will “naively” bumble his way through, while the Cynic will use “denigration” to destroy anything outside his comprehension. In the case of the Cynic, we do not mean an attempt to literally destroy, but that the Cynic will actively fight to remove any contradictions from his determined perception. In the case of each Axis of Attitude, you will find when they are in the Negative Pole, the reaction of the Attitude is to eliminate the Positive Pole experiences. When the Stoic is “resigned,” he will use inspiration to lead others into resignation, to validate his own perceptions. The Spiritualist will use inspiration to impose his beliefs on others as strongly as possible, to remove the need for verifying his perceptions. The Skeptic will simply express strong suspicions, riling others into an insecure space of perception, to remove the need for investigation. The Idealist will naively take on lofty goals and intentions, either with or without awareness, setting himself up for failure, so as to remove the experience of coalescence, which is the bringing together of parts to make a whole. The Cynic will actively remove all that contradicts his own determined perception. The Realist will insist that her perceptions are based in fact, even against the strongest of feedback that she is inaccurate, so as to remove her from having to be Objective. In addition, the Pragmatist will continue doing things, thinking about things, expressing things, exactly as they have worked for her to her satisfaction, regardless of the fact that input is dictating that there are more practical ways for the same things. The reason the Negative Pole is so strongly interested in eliminating the Positive Pole experiences is because the Attitude is the “brother or sister” to the Chief Features. We speak of these traits with anthropomorphic descriptions, only for the sake of relating, but we do not wish for you to mistake this means of description as if these parts of you are a separate consciousness. We do not say that they are, nor do we imply that they are. Because of our limitation of time, we will quickly point out what we believe may be the most important concern for your understanding of the Attitudes. Since the Attitude can be your prison or your means to complete freedom, we believe that when you are struggling in any area of your life, the first place to look would be to your Attitude. In understanding your Attitude, you would clearly be able to see that you may be in the Negative Pole, but the fastest and most effective means to move yourself out of it, is simply to choose a different angle of perception. Since the Attitude, while in the Negative Pole, so intently seeks to remove the experience of the Positive Pole of your Attitude, the “trick” is to use the Positive Pole of the Attitude that shares your Axis. If the effort is made, within minutes your life can change; or at least your attitude toward it, which can then lead to changing your life. When the Spiritualist is lost in her Beliefs and continues to find she is blocked from real, fulfilling Verification of her perceptions, it can free her to “slide” to the Positive Pole of Stoicism, which would be Tranquility. When Belief is in control, there is usually a strong need to get others to share in the belief, even if you, yourself have not Verified its place in your life. When the Spiritualist slides to Tranquility, she relaxes and surrenders gently to her perceptions. This then allows her to Verify things for herself, instead of finding others to do it for her. On the other hand, the Stoic may have given up on his life, resigning, which is a passive stance to the life. If he were to slide to Verification, he would be able to find that much of what he has resigned himself to is not even valid anymore as an imposition. We may not be able to go through all of the Attitudes with examples, but we will note that the Pragmatist has the ability to slide to ANY of the other Attitudes as a means to free himself from Dogma. We will now take any questions you may have, so we can respond to you, rather than use your time teaching what may already be available in print. QUESTIONS [MDFSage_Val] Can you describe a “spectrum of use” for an Idealist, or is this more an individual fragment thing/issue? [M_Entity] An Idealist lives within the spectrum of being “cursed” and “blessed” with the constant want for improvement. The Idealist has such a wider vision of most things that he can see patterns where others cannot. Within those patterns, he can also see how they can be improved, manipulated, or altered for the better. The struggle then comes from the Idealist being able to see the big picture, but not putting the effort into defining the STEPS it will take to get there. Therein lies the spectrum from Naivety to Coalescence. An Idealist can see that he has potential to run a marathon, but instead of taking the steps to prepare, he simply, naively runs in the marathon, until he collapses from the pain he could have avoided. [Suzanne] Michael, How would be best for an idealist & a spiritualist to relate to each other, one expresses while the other inspires? [M_Entity] The Spiritualist will always interpret relationships in terms of how inspiring they are, while the Idealist will interpret the relationships in terms of how much improvement is coming from them. [Suzanne] Rather interesting, as it can compliment. [M_Entity] If the Spiritualist feels her relationships are not inspiring, or that she is not inspiring, she will lose interest. The Idealist must feel as if the relationships are somehow improving each other, or he will feel they are not worth it. [Suzanne] Thank you, I understand better now [M_Entity] We are using pronouns randomly, for the sake of grammar. We are not intending anything to be specifically assigned to a gender. [Suzanne] Understood that too, thanks. [M_Entity] The Spiritualist could be said to be “cursed” and “blessed” with the philosophy that everything has potential. Within that spectrum, you will find the experiences ranging from blind faith or belief to valid verification of those potentials. We will point out one last point for your consideration before concluding tonight. When you are in the Negative Pole of your Attitude, you may find you are behaving more and more like the Attitude sharing your Axis, or attracting, or attracted to, those who share your Axis. This is your inherent move toward balance in perception and even if this is done without awareness, it manages, at least, to continue to give the option of choosing how you interpret your reality. So, an Idealist may tend to be very critical and skeptical as a means to balance his Idealism; the Spiritualist may find she is becoming less and less emotional and more passive as she seeks balance for her Beliefs. We shared as much as we could within your time allotted. We have much more to say about this topic, of course. We will conclude here. Good Night to all of you.
  2. ENERGY REPORT JULY - AUGUST 2011 2011 Overleaves are: ROLE: PRIEST (emphasized all year) CENTER: MOVING (emphasized all year) GOAL: FLOW (emphasized Jan - Mar) MODE: CAUTION (emphasized Apr - Jun) ATTITUDE: PRAGMATIST sliding to Cynic and Skeptic (emphasized Jul - Sep) CHIEF FEATURES: Impatience/Martyrdom (emphasized Oct - Dec) JULY marks the shift of emphasis for the year from that of Caution Mode, to that of the Attitude of Pragmatist. As the year “unfolds,” each element of our interpretation of the year builds upon itself, so that the actions that set in motion the Goal for the year are then built upon for the exploration of inspirational elements of the Mode and relationships, and those give rise to how the expressive Attitude for the year plays out. Depending upon the collective work of holding the Attitude in the Positive Pole, the “season” of Chief Features can either be mild, or devastating, either on individual levels or collectively. Again, regardless of your own Overleaves, if you participate in the world in any way, the collective forces that are generated in patterns, here described in Oveleaves, will be a force to which you contribute, and from which you will be influenced. For instance, July marked the shift into Pragmatism. Even if your Attitude is Idealism or Realism, the emphasis in “the world” on the spectrum of that Pragmatism brings is going to be a part of everyone’s dynamic as part of the scheme of things. The Attitude is our way of describing one’s basic philosophy, or one’s basic filter for interpreting the world, and how one tends to bring that philosophy into the world. Pragmatism is basically the philosophy of theorizing, experimenting with those theories, and then choosing the most practical. Pragmatism is the building up of theories from the processing of one’s own experiences, and then applying those theories to substantiate them, which gives rise to new experiences, which then give rise to new theories, and so on. However, Pragmatism is not just about the collection of one’s own experiences, but the consideration and inclusion of other people’s experiences and theories along the way. It is through the experimentation and application of all theories that Pragmatism is healthy as an Attitude, or is in the Positive Pole of Practical, or Efficient. Pragmatism is not about convenience or lazy interpretations, when in the Positive Pole, but a consideration of a multitude of perceptions that can work, could work, or has worked, and then choosing from those the most Practical, through experimentation. When Pragmatism falls into the Negative Pole, there is no Practice (practical), no Efficiency, and certainly very little consideration of alternative theories to one’s own. There is only Prejudice, Presumption, or Dogmatism. These words not only describe the lack of validation of the theories, but describes the blocking of challenges to one’s theories, including the very nature of varying contexts. When Pragmatism falls into Dogma, one’s perspective is locked in a way that leaves little room for the consideration of even one’s own new experiences, or alternative perspectives, that could update or clarify the original theories so that they are capable of being validated, useful, Practical. A simplistic example might be one who “knows” that he can get on the other side of a wall, because he knows that others have done so, so he rams himself into the wall. This is an experience that tells this person that ramming into the wall is probably not the most efficient or practical means for applying his theory that one can get to the other side. The Pragmatist in the Positive Pole would then try to climb it, or crawl through a window, or use the door, or just go around it, or all of the above, comparing each experience to determine the most practical solution, but also including feedback and experiences from those around him so that he can experiment with those, too. The Pragmatist in the Positive Pole knows that the shortest distance between two points is not always a straight line, so to speak. The Pragmatist in the Negative Pole may simply continue to ram himself against the wall, eventually busting through, and then insists that this is the only way, or the best way, or the way that works, because it worked for him. Eventually. As July’s pattern came up, Pragmatism has come up strong in the Negative Pole, being played out in a multitude of ways in the media, particularly in terms of Politics. What works for one group, regardless of whether it works for another, are coming head to head in a most profound way. It should be noted here that all transitions into a new emphasis tend to “enter” from the Negative Pole, and then work toward the Positive Pole. It is not uncommon, then, for a Pragmatist year to have a period of Dogmatism before then moving into Practicality. Also, keep in mind that all Assimillative Overleaves “slide” to the other Overleaves as a means for manifestation. All Assimillative Overleaves are rather transparent, if you will, and though defined in their own right, tend to require other means through which to apply that definition. So the Pragmatist, then, would “slide” to the Attitude that is most Practical for the occasion, or the most useful for digging in to Dogmatism. Though an Assimillative Overleaf can use any other Overleaf in that category, a person will tend to choose one or two as habitual places to slide. 2011 shows that the collective pattern for the Pragmatist Attitude is to slide to Cynic and Skeptic. With Pragmatism currently in a state of Dogma, the way it would show up in the world, then, is through the Denigration and Suspicion that are hallmarks of the Negative Poles of Cynic and Skeptic, respectively. Cynicism is ultimately a philosophy of virtue, or the capacity for discerning and living the truth through active opposition, and Skepticism is the philosophy of doubt, or questioning through expressive means. When Cynicism is in the Positive Pole, opposition comes in the form of Contradiction, which is simply the bringing of attention to the flipside of the status quo, or the obvious. This Contradiction is solely for the purpose of presenting alternative perspectives so that the truth can be discerned. Contradiction is an invitation. When Cynicism is in the Negative Pole, it is no longer concerned with discerning the truth, but is more concerned with imposing one’s truth, which is automatically adjusted to be whatever is opposing the truths of others. This is Denigration. The cutting down of the opposition for the sake of countering his truth. When Skepticism is in the Positive Pole, doubt and questioning comes in the form of Investigation, which is an expressive means for gathering information, whereas the Negative Pole of Suspicion is still doubt and questioning, but without the communication and media of expression. Investigation asks the questions, while Suspicion keeps the questions to himself. Over July and August, one might see these elements playing out in Politics, with Dogmatism being held fast through Denigration and Suspicion. In one’s persona life, however, these same qualities may come into focus and influence, as well. The way we have seen this show up for our students is mostly in a profoundly personal way, so that the Denigration and Suspicion are within, toward the self. It could be said that because the world is moving through a phase of doubt and opposition, those tuned in to it will find they also move through a phase of doubt and opposition. The more one is hooked into the world, the more one’s phase of doubt and opposition within will parallel the methods at large, which means many of our students are going through a phase of butting their heads and hearts up against the walls of their own Dogma, and then Denigrating themselves or drowning their intentions in Suspicion. In other words, many of our students are dealing with a phase of processing failures, let downs, disappointing revisits to old patterns, set backs, etc. This may also apply to personal relationships, for some, and this might show up as feeling disappointed in someone else, seeing someone else as a let down, stuck in old patterns, failing. Whether within or between yourself and others, all of this might be played out through the butting of heads, hearts, and the insistence on one way being THE way. It will be quite important to remember that this is a phase. It is a natural part of the exploration of the Pragmatist Attitude for the year, and is revealing to all involved that there is MORE THAN ONE WAY. If any of the symptoms above resonate with our students, then it is a signal that this is a key consideration for help in moving back into the Positive Pole energies of the year: THAT THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY. And you will not comprehend the alternatives by simply digging into to Dogma, defending it with Denigration and Suspicion. To move into Practicality and Efficiency, away from Dogma, it will mean moving into seeing the opposite of what you think you see (Contradiction) and asking the questions that need to be asked (Investigation). Though we will offer the following, keep in mind that these are only for consideration, and that if you choose not to use these, you will survive as you make your own choices that are suited for your own paths of exploration. Helpful thoughts over JULY and AUGUST might be: 1) THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY HOME We have already stated that “there is more than one way,” but here we add “home.” We use the word “home” here, because for most who struggle with flexibility of perspective, it is almost always from a state of investment in what feels safe. However familiar your path to safety, or Home, there will always be other ways. You do not have to give up your sense of safety or Home, but you must consider all the ways you can get there, and when you wish for others to share in your Home, or your state of comfort and safety, you must consider that they will find their own way. And that they may not. 2) BUTTING HEADS OR HEARTS DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE BEHIND We realize this is a rather clever pun, and it was intended as such, however, the serious nature of the statement remains. If you find you are bumping up against blockages, walls, obstacles, old patterns, whether within or between yourself and another, it does not mean someone has failed, or that someone has fallen backwards; it simply means that it is time to evaluate the possibility for new ideas, applying and experimenting with new theories, and opening to alternative perspectives. 3) WHEN IN DOUBT, ASK YOUR QUESTIONS “out loud.” For those of you who have fallen into doubt as your means of sustaining or defending Dogma, it may be time to ask the questions you fear asking, or asking the questions you may not have considered asking. It may be an important step toward freeing yourself into a more Practical perspective. 4) WHEN IN OPPOSITION, INVITE THE TRUTH, do not impose it. For those who have fallen into oppositions that have led them to stand sturdy and strong with their truth as a defense of Dogma, it may be time to consider that your truth is not the only truth. Inviting the truth of others does not mean losing your own, but it can mean losing the necessity for defending it, thus freeing your perspective away from Dogma and into something more Practical. DATES OF INTEREST July is “littered” with multiple Nexus points that have most consciousness in a strange state of flux and limbo on the surface, as major shifts and rearrangements are being managed on Essence levels. Dream states may be heightened, along with demands for sleep, or at least a constant state of fatigue and disorientation. JULY 21st through 24th - a divergence (branching) Nexus with potentially explosive or implosive revelations and resolutions as a result of the process of implementing Pragmatism. Breakthroughs may occur here, or collapses into divisions that accommodate oppositions, doubts, and dogma. AUGUST 1st through 4th - another divergence (branching Nexus, focusing on accommodating the various directions of world economy.
  3. NWM - Aug 15, 2015 - Blind Spots of Attitude Channel: Troy Tolley MEntity: Hello to you each of you. We are here, now. We will begin. ClaireC: Hi! Diane_HB: Hi Michael! MEntity: Today we will speak to the "blind spots" of your Attitude. Though we have clear delineation of each Overleaf in terms of polarities, there can come a time in the evolution of an Essence when all of the "tricks" of fear, Chief Features, and Negative Poles are exhausted as methods defense, division, and isolation. This can take many lifetimes to exhaust because every lifetime brings with it a new Personality, so all of these methods are still "new" every single time. Fearful choices and reactions can be used over and over and then overcome, only to be found anew in the next life. However, the older the soul, the thinner that "veil" is between the Personality and Essence, and you begin to live AS Essence. And Essence knows all of the tricks of fear. We speak in convenient terms here that may seem to personify fear as something independent from you, but that is not the case. We know you know this. As the Personality evolves in a lifetime, and particularly when studying and applying a teaching such as this, it can become quite obvious and clear when one is in the Negative Pole by definition, and choices can be made to remedy this. These means of navigation, choice, and self-observation are quite beneficial to reducing unwarranted fear. And while this can reduce the hold of Chief Features by up to 90% and beyond, it will not address the blind spots that each of you develop. These blind spots are your downfall. They are your bad days. They are your "people suck" scenarios. They are your "I suck" scenarios. They are your haunting undercurrents of pointlessness, or your ominous dread that you keep in check. In short, they are your means of evading responsibility for your fear. The fear we speak of will be relative to your Chief Feature, but we likely not speak to those today. We speak of the means by which that fear gets a hold and becomes acceptable to you in ways that perpetuate the hold of Chief Feature so that it is comforting, addictive, and "sensible." Before we continue: do each of you know your Attitude? Name your Attitude now, if you do. PeterK: Skeptic. Diane_HB: Pragmatist ViP: Spiritualist Maureen: Realist ClaireC: Spiritualist Bobby: Pragmatist Diane_HB: Troy/Geraldine are Idealists MEntity: Keep in mind that you may not like what we have to say today. Diane_HB: LOL ViP: hmm MEntity: We will prioritize details based on the Attitudes here, then expand into those that are not listed, if time permits. PRAGMATIST The Pragmatist, basically, interprets the world in terms of WHAT WORKS. The Pragmatist at his or her best has a keen sense of efficiency and elegance. We have defined "elegance" as that economy of energy that gives the greatest amount of return for the least amount of expenditure. When the Pragmatist is in the Negative Pole, it can be quite obvious as Dogma. The Pragmatist thinks that it is his or her way "or the highway," or they simply continue to repeat and impose methods that work for themselves even as they may not work for others. There are many ways that Dogma can show up, but it is often fairly obvious in that it is immovable and unwavering in perception. However, the Blind Spot can be far more "sensible" and more difficult to call out within the self as a Pragmatist, or for others to call out in the Pragmatist. Because the Pragmatist sees the world in terms of WHAT WORKS, their Blind Spot can be related to any area where they do not wish to do that work. If it is someone else's problem, it is THEIR problem. If it is not an issue that the Pragmatist struggles with, then it is a silly issue. If it is a struggle that the Pragmatist has overcome, then why cannot others do the same? The Pragmatist sensibly falls into Dogma by dismissing, distancing, and even denigrating the oh-so-inefficient struggles of others. The Pragmatist Blind Spot may then be described as INSENSITIVITY. It is the tiresome extra effort necessary to inefficiently empathize. Diane_HB: ? MEntity: Solutions to struggles seem quite obvious to the Pragmatist who is not directly involved with that struggle or that type of struggle: simply stop struggling. Do something else. Walk away. Do not respond. Let it go. When the Pragmatist finds this is his or her response to the struggles of another, it may be the Blind Spot in effect that allows him or her to justify Dogma. This is also true of his or her own struggles. There are times when this same policy is imposed upon the self. Why am I upset? That is so inefficient. I can just walk away and leave it alone. Or "suck it up." The emphasis shifts only to WHAT WORKS and away from the WHY of what is being experienced. Life is inefficient. Experience is not organized. It is messy. For the Pragmatist, the Blind Spot convinces him or her that if it is a struggle, if it is messy, if it is not efficient, it is not worth it. It does not work. As Pragmatists, if you find this oversimplification in effect, you are probably being blind to the messy depths of an experience that is either yours to experience, or yours to help another through. You are being Insensitive. Do the Pragmatists relate? Bobby: Oh yes! Diane_HB: Yes MEntity: SPIRITUALISTS The Spiritualist, basically, sees life as if it has never been seen before. There is an awe as an undercurrent to the basic philosophy of the life when at its best. The Spiritualist looks for signs, interconnectedness, resonance, and meaning in "everything." This is why they must VERIFY, the Positive Pole. So much of "everything" can be interpreted as messages, interconnectedness, signs, etc., that life can become a din of symbolism that drowns out all of the messages. When the Spiritualist is overwhelmed by the messages and meaning of life, they can retreat into an isolating system of BELIEFS that removes the noise of life, and simply decides what is true, decides what people mean, decides what will happen, decides what happened, and that is that. If the Spiritualist believes it, then it happened. That is that. Now the world is interpreted through that system of Belief, and the inconvenience of Verifying lets the Spiritualist simply decide what is true. This is the obvious polarization within the Spiritualist, and most older souls begin to realize this and make the effort to Verify. They do not let themselves simply decide what is true; they ask questions. They question themselves. They are OK with being wrong. They allow room for nuance and context so that nothing is only True or Not True. However, the Blind Spot then comes into play as these polarities come to be navigated more consciously. For the Spiritualist, this Blind Spot is EXCUSES. The Spiritualist can tend to justify his or her behaviors, attitude, and choices by deferring to "the universe" as the force behind the reasoning for those choices, attitudes, and behaviors. By "the universe" we mean circumstances, behaviors of others, obligations, responsibilities, expectations of meaning and message. Though all Attitudes may be use this method, it is often the Spiritualists who "leave it up to the Universe," or "we'll see what happens," etc. The Spiritualist takes a passive seat to the efforts necessary for choice. This allows two things: Beliefs to stay intact, and responsibility to be evaded. In other words, the Spiritualist may find that he or she always has an excuse. If the Spiritualist is upset, there is a "reason." It is not merely that he or she interpreted events through Belief. If the Spiritualist does not succeed at an expectation or intention, then it is "the universe" who decided this, not that the Spiritualist merely need alter or adapt efforts. And so BELIEF remains unquestioned. Do the Spiritualists relate? ViP: yes ClaireC: Oh yes. MEntity: IDEALISTS The Idealist, basically, sees life in terms of how it SHOULD BE, or how it can be improved. Though all fragments will navigate with some level of expectation, the Idealist navigates almost entirely based in expectations. Expectations are healthy. They are a means of navigation and help one to shape choices and actions and feelings in response to the possibilities of life. Both Spiritualists and Idealists are quite familiar with rocky terrain of expectation, but the Idealist takes this to a new level. The Spiritualist can tend to have expectations of the world around him or her as a means of navigating potential, but the Idealist can tend to generate expectations from others of himself or herself that the Spiritualist can avoid. The Idealist in the Negative Pole can be obvious in his or her naive approach to fulfilling an ideal. They set high expectations without considering the necessary components that need to be in place for coming together to fulfill the ideal. While the Spiritualist will make Excuses for his or her disappointments and failing of potential, the Idealist will COMPARTMENTALIZE. The Blind Spot, however, we will describe as REPERCUSSIONS. The Idealist, when in Naivety, will distance himself or herself from the Repercussions of failed expectations by using compartmentalizing. The Positive Pole of the Idealist is a Coalescing of parts that must come together to fulfill the ideal, so when the Idealist is in the Negative Pole, the parts become divided and compartmentalized so that the whole picture can no longer be seen, experienced, felt. The Repercussions are avoided, ignored, or distanced from the self. This is an insidious form of Naivety Troy can attest to his relating to all of this. As may Geraldine. REALIST The Realist, basically, sees life FOR WHAT IT IS. Sometimes "it sucks" and sometimes it does not. When the Realist is in the Positive Pole, it is not personal. They are OBJECTIVE. Life happens. Choices have consequences. Actions have impact. Feelings are important, but not the truth. The Realist knows all of this and interprets life and experiences accordingly. It can be quite obvious when the Realist falls into Subjectivity because then things become personal. The Objectivity is lost and Subjectivity is in effect. The distance and clarity is lost in favor of how personal something has become. When things get personal for the Realist, it is unnerving, disorienting, and even paralyzing, though sometimes a lashing out can occur to help force a false distance to return. By "personal" we mean that the individual can no longer see himself or herself as PART of a dynamic, but begin to see themselves as sucked into middle or as the focus of the dynamic The Realist in the Negative Pole can be quite obvious as their defenses tend to rise quite high. But as the soul grows older, the Realist can begin to recognize these defenses and transform a "personal" experience so that it moves from being Subjective to being Objective, and the Realist is returned to be a part of the dynamic, instead of the focus or center of it. But the Blind Spot of the Realist is INCONVENIENCE. The older soul Realist can navigate the precarious balance between Objectivity and Subjectivity, but heaven forbid you interfere with their convenience. This can "set them off" into Subjectivity faster than even your pressing and imposing problems that spill unwelcomed into their space. The more inconvenient you are, the more you can send the Realist into the Negative Pole. The more inconvenienced the Realist, the more he or she can feel he or she has been imposed upon in ways that lock them into Subjectivity. We do not say this mockingly. It is not a superficial term we use here. Convenience is a prized state that the Realist works hard to secure in his or her life. They know life can be hard, so they hone the life into ways, paths, and patterns that uphold the quality and benefit of convenience. This is a natural byproduct of having such an Attitude, and it is a healthy response to the acknowledgement of the range of experience that life can bring. Hardship and struggle WILL happen, so why not secure as many conveniences as possible to help balance that out. This helps the Realist, then, remain Objective. But it can become their Blind Spot, as well. If inconvenienced, Subjectivity can take hold, and then the defenses come up. Does the attending Realist relate? Maureen: Yes ClaireC: And the friend of the Realist too. ? ViP: ? Maureen: I can see all the Blindspots of the other Attitudes, as well. ? MEntity: If we are doing our job correctly, all of these will be clearly represented among you and around you. Diane_HB: I can see them ClaireC: Very clearly. MEntity: SKEPTIC The Skeptic, basically, sees life as if it to be inherently questioned and disproven. Put another way, the Skeptic sees life as something to Investigate. When the Skeptic is in the Positive Pole, the Skeptic is comfortable questioning assumptions, patient in his or her search and research for answers, and does not experience this constant questioning as anything more than a means to learn, understand, and build insights. The effort to disprove is not an effort to tear down, but to ensure that there is strength in the proof. The questioning is a means to flesh out meaning and depth, not to strip of value and integrity. The reason the emphasis is on disproof over proof is because there are far more claims in life than there are lack of claims. When the Skeptic falls into SUSPICION, he or she does not stop questioning or disproving, but does so from the premise that there are inherent and intentional deceit and hidden truths involved. The Blind Spot of the Skeptic, then, is DISSATISFACTION. This is a sense that nothing can truly satisfy the questions, the doubt, the investigation, and leaves the individual locked in Suspicion. The Skeptic can find that this Dissatisfaction is sensible and then continue in Suspicion, never truly learning or expanding in insight, but cycling through layers and layers of presumed deceit and lies and misinformation. This is another of the Attitudes that often has to learn that it is okay to be wrong, or that lack of solid validation and empirical evidence does not imply deceit. Does the attending Skeptic relate? PeterK: Yes, very much so. I have several files on my computer titled, "Investigation of ..." ClaireC: lol MEntity: We know we have not covered all Attitudes, but these are for those in attendance. We will now take your questions. We have about 10 minutes remaining. QUEUE IS OPEN ViP: Hi Michael, if a person slides from one Attitude to another, does that make them open to that Attitude's blind spot, as well as their own "native" blind spot? MEntity: The native Overleaf is key, but the additional Blind Spots can become double-blind spots. If you notice a Blind Spot that is not of your resting Attitude, you can use this insight to then see how that is serving that default Attitude. Bobby: Claire was forfeiting her question, so without elaborating due to time restraints, would you at least name the blind spot of the other two Attitudes: Stoic and Cynic? MEntity: STOIC - DISCONNECT; CYNIC - OBSESSION. PeterK: I often have trouble seeing possibilities. Is this related to my Skeptic blind spot? MEntity: Inherent in the Ordinal Attitudes is a more focused range of perception and interpretation. Inherent in the Cardinal or Exalted Attitudes comes the broader interpretations that require a greater sense of possibilities. Your focus is not a blind spot. You would not be able to truly Investigate if a wide range of possibilities were acceptable to you. It is a strength of Skeptic to narrow possibilities before they propagate into meaninglessness. This does not mean you will always find your answers, but it does mean you will have a greater probability of this than other Attitudes that may allow room for a wide range that is never validated. However, if Dissatisfaction has narrowed your sense of possibilities to such an extent that you are no longer searching for answers, but only searching for evidence to support your suspicions, then, yes, it can be related to that blind spot. We will conclude here for today. Good day to each of you. Goodbye, for now. Blindspot for STOIC was obtained by JanetE on 8/19/2015: MEntity: The Stoic, basically, sees the world as if it has all been seen before. Most things are not surprising. Most people are not surprising. Enthusiasm is not denied, but it is a prized resource that is used quite carefully. When the Stoic embraces the mundanity of life, there is a kind of TRANQUILITY that is embraced. Things and people are not required to be surprising. They are not required to entertain or be more than they are. There is a kind of peace in the familiar, rather than a boredom or resentment. This familiarity is not something that is clung to, but rather accepted as a force in life that is as meaningful as anything new and exciting. However, while the Stoic embraces the mundane, it is done so with the understanding that surprises will happen. They are as built into a life as mundanity. If the Stoic goes too long without a surprise, then the Attitude can fall into Resignation. If the Stoic is overwhelmed with too many surprises, then the Attitude can fall into Resignation. The Stoic, then, has her Blind Spot as DISCONNECT because she is either tired of the same old things being repeated and presented as if new and surprising when she presumes she already knows all there is to know or experience regarding that thing, or the Disconnect comes because too many new and exciting surprises are tossed into the mix that pushes the Stoic into Resignation. It becomes sensible to the Stoic to simply Disconnect, turn off, tune out, because it is all going to be the same things again and again anyway. It becomes sensible to the Stoic to simply Disconnect, turn off, tune out, because too much is too much and rather than navigate it, it simply needs to stop being the focus. When the Stoic finds she is tuning out, turning off, Disconnecting, it is likely because she has found it difficult to process too much of the same thing, or too much of a new thing. The return to Tranquility can come when the "too much" is removed from the equation, and is replaced with moderation, rather than shut down. In addition to this, the Stoic in Disconnect and Resignation can do well to remember Experiential Differentiation. This is the truth that, regardless of how many times one experiences something, there is always potential for that experience to bring something new, meaningful, and valuable. There is more we can say on this subject, of course, but this is a quick synopsis. Blindspot for CYNIC was obtained by Kurtis on 8/23/2015: MEntity: The Cynic, basically, sees the world in terms of opposing the obvious or appearances or common assumptions. The Cynic knows there is almost always more than meets the eye. The Cynic, then, is always looking beyond the surface, always willing to look in the opposite directions, always interested in the contents, not the packaging. This is CONTRADICTION. When in the Positive Pole, the Cynic simply Contradicts the obvious. This is similar to questioning, doubting, and allowing room for being wrong. However, when the Cynic falls into the Negative Pole of Denigration, it is because he cannot accept that what is known is all there is. The simple truth or the lack of complexity can trigger Denigration, or the breaking down of something or someone beyond its capacity to break down. It is Contradiction for the sake of contradiction rather than as a means to know more. The Cynic learns that sometimes, and more often than not, there is nothing more, no hidden or secret meaning, no blind dichotomy. Something or someone is simply what can be seen, experienced, and known. So the Cynic questions and then that is that. However, the Cynic can develop a Blind Spot that prompts them to continue questioning, continue breaking something or someone down, and this turns into an Obsession. Some of the most outlandish conspiracies are perpetuated by Cynics in Obsession. Denigration is seen as a necessary evil that is noble and important to impose, even as it means making up and stretching facts beyond recognition. The Spiritualist and Cynic are similar in their fall into "beliefs" in this regard.
  4. ENERGY REPORT August 2016 2016 OVERLEAVES ROLE: Server (emphasized all year) CENTER: Moving (emphasized all year) GOAL: Discrimination (emphasized Jan - Mar) MODE: Caution (emphasized Apr - Jun) ATTITUDE: Cynic (emphasized Jul - Sep) CHIEF FEATURES: Self-destruction (emphasized Oct - Dec) AUGUST moves the energy directly into the core of the Cynic Attitude where the possibility for a shift into the Positive Pole is higher, though we must note that this possibility is slight. The Negative Pole has too high of an investment from too many and this can be daunting to work through, but this does not mean it is impossible nor does it mean you cannot turn this around on a personal level. We will state again that the Cynic Attitude in itself is not inherently unpleasant, but for those not familiar with it or are uncomfortable with contradiction, even the best of Cynic energy can feel inconvenient at best, but when Cynic is moving through the Negative Pole, Denigration, it can feel like an invisible, heavy weight that strips the joy and life from everything and feels exhausting. We also repeat: Cynic energy is vital to the expansion and evolution of active intelligence and discernment when it is in the Positive Pole of Contradiction because pursuit of integrity and truth through questioning, challenging, and countering presumptions is healthy, but when Cynic energy moves through the Negative Pole it is the active use of intelligence to undermine or destroy integrity and truth. Denigration is countering, questioning, and challenging for the sake of defending one’s conclusive perspective, not for expanding or evolving in one’s expanding perspective. Denigration seeks to undermine, devalue, belittle, and destroy that which is questioned, rather than listen to answers or see the truth. Currently, individual perspectives are deep in Denigration or deeply affected by those in Denigration. The undermining of integrity and truth as a means for destroying that which is the target of questioning is in full momentum of effect. The only response to this can be the Positive Pole that is Contradiction. If our students feel the weight of Denigration affecting them, or if they find themselves being swept up in participating in the Denigration, it can be helpful to return to Contradiction. This means surprising yourself with a questioning of your intent, a questioning of your own perspective. If you feel generally defeated, defensive, frustrated, angry, and exhausted, surprise yourself. Think differently. Try a different angle. Try changing your focus. Try expanding your focus. This is not to ignore that which is affecting you, but to help you find solutions and alternatives to what is affecting you. DATES OF INTEREST (dates are approximate): August 2nd -- ENERGY SHIFT - TENTATIVE RELIEF - This shift seems to bring with it a sense of possibility and perspective, but not a lot of confidence in that relief. Some may feel this is a good time to “snap out of it” and try a shift in perspective, but it may seem too easy to slip back into the weight of effect from Denigration. August 13th -- ENERGY SHIFT - KARMIC CLARITY - Most of 2016 has been a difficult and painful look at collective Karma and what remains to be balanced, corrected, and healed. While deep in this exploration, it can feel quite overwhelming, but this Energy Shift helps to bring many fragments back out and up and to the edges of the chaos for a clearer sense of what needs to be done. August 27th -- ENERGY SHIFT - CONSCIOUS CREATION - This energy shift appears to be a return to a sense of responsibility for how one creates the next steps in the life. Many of our students may find that they can finally unhook from the collective patterns that have felt quite heavy and personal, and return to a sense of navigation that is inspired by personal choice, response, and Manifesting of Essence. A sense of pivotal and conscious choice in PERSPECTIVE and ATTITUDE for how to move forward is here. [no nexus in August] HELPFUL THOUGHTS OVER August: SURPRISE YOURSELF - When you feel overwhelmed by the sense of destruction to truth and integrity in the world, surprise yourself. See if you can find a different perspective. See if you can find the threads of positive possibilities. See if you can do something else to help free your energy, heart, and head for a while so you can return to your concerns more energized, clear, and enthusiastically. FIGHTING FIRE WITH FIRE MAKES MORE FIRE - If you see the world as being chaotic, confusing, overwhelming, depressing, struggling, etc. it does not help if you bring that same energy into the mix. It is okay to experience these emotions, but it is not helpful if you stop there. Bring joy, bring perspective, bring surprise, bring levity, bring play, bring something different. Even if only for a moment. Bring something different.
  5. ENERGY REPORT July 2016 2016 OVERLEAVES ROLE: Server (emphasized all year) CENTER: Moving (emphasized all year) GOAL: Discrimination (emphasized Jan - Mar) MODE: Caution (emphasized Apr - Jun) ATTITUDE: Cynic (emphasized Jul - Sep) CHIEF FEATURES: Self-destruction (emphasized Oct - Dec) JULY brings the move of emphasis directly into the Cynic Attitude. The Cynic Attitude in itself is not inherently unpleasant, but for those not familiar with it or are uncomfortable with contradiction, even the best of Cynic energy can feel inconvenient at best, but when Cynic is moving through the Negative Pole, Denigration, it can be an invisible, heavy weight that seems to strip the joy and life from everything and is exhausting. July begins with Cynic in the Negative Pole. This appears to be showing up as our students feeling a concerted effort to “stay positive,” to keep their vision intact, their ideals upheld, their sense of progress and joy sustained. It is likely not easy, and even if this evasion of this Negative Pole energy is successful, it is likely quite exhausting. Cynic energy is vital to the expansion and evolution of active intelligence and discernment when it is in the Positive Pole of Contradiction because pursuit of integrity and truth through questioning, challenging, and countering presumptions is healthy, but when Cynic energy moves through the Negative Pole it is the active use of intelligence to undermine or destroy integrity and truth. Denigration is countering and questioning and challenging for the sake of defending one’s perspective, not for expanding or evolving in one’s perspective. Denigration seeks to undermine, devalue, belittle, and destroy that which is questioned, rather than listen to answers or see the truth. What we are finding in patterns across July are many with even the best of intentions simply falling into Denigration, pursuing the takedown and destruction of that which is questionable rather than pursuing the understanding of that which is questionable. Cynic looks for ways to transform and transmute the questionable. When this is through Contradiction there is an understanding of oppositions so that resolution and change can come in beneficial ways. When transformation and transmutation comes through Denigration, it is without understanding of oppositions, and simply aims for the removal or destruction of the opposition. With the Chief Feature of Self-destruction in force this year, and so much emphasis on the Negative Poles, the force of Self-Destruction is rising among many, even among our students. Those who may be prone to aligning with Denigration this year appear to be willing to “go down with the ship”, see themselves as making an honorable Sacrifice, or commit Suicide (figuratively and literally) as a means to take down that which is deemed opposing forces. From what we can see, this may turn out to be a year of unprecedented acts of Suicide, not only in the obvious figurative and literal ways, but in cascading impact. As July progresses, we do not see much levity in terms of how Cynicism will be used, so we suggest that our students do all they can to generate that levity and nurture it as a means to remain a part of the process of questioning and encouraging challenges to presumptions, but help yourselves and others to be less-inclined toward the gravity of Denigration. DATES OF INTEREST (dates are approximate): July 03 - 07 -- ENERGY SHIFT - ENERGY REDUCTION - Another plummet in energy may be in effect for many of our students, starting off July as foggy and even seemingly depressing. This drain comes as a result of “holding it together,” “focusing on the positive,” “trying to see the bright side,” etc. It is not that those efforts are fruitless, but that as part of the successful and valid process of holding it together, focusing on the positive, and trying to see the bright side there is a necessity to exhale, to pause, to catch one’s breath before breathing deeply again. This reduction in energy can be used for slowing down, for changing pace, for considering what one has learned. July 19 -- ENERGY SHIFT - ENERGY SURGE - An Energy Surge comes around the 19th to mark a potential shift away from fogginess and heavy thoughts and feelings that may have been carried over the month. A surge of energy toward convictions and common ground causes, either on a larger scale or on a personal scale. July 29th -- NEXUS - Divergence - This nexus appears to be focused on branching off those parts of those who are interested in an escalation of conflict toward greater war. HELPFUL THOUGHTS OVER JULY: STEER THE SHIP, DO NOT SINK IT - When faced with the difficult terrain of disappointment and disillusionment and/or despair, it is always of greater health and benefit to navigate this terrain rather than to avoid it or self-destruct. THIS, TOO, SHALL PASS (but you will not) - This phrase is a universal truth. The best and the worst of any experience, life, relationship, etc. will change, evolve, grow, and sometimes this may be excruciatingly or blissfully slow, but all of it will pass. But you will not. We point this out because it is important to know so you can make more of a difference during the difficult, and cherish with gratitude the moments of joy. It is important to participate because no matter how much changes, how much of life comes and goes, and how much it hurts or pleases you, YOU are at the center of it all, and what you do, how you participate, how you navigate, what you choose, what you do matters.
  6. ENERGY REPORT June 2016 2016 OVERLEAVES ROLE: Server (emphasized all year) CENTER: Moving (emphasized all year) GOAL: Discrimination (emphasized Jan - Mar) MODE: Caution (emphasized Apr - Jun) ATTITUDE: Cynic (emphasized Jul - Sep) CHIEF FEATURES: Self-destruction (emphasized Oct - Dec) JUNE brings the end of emphasis on Caution Mode and the shift toward Cynic Attitude begins later in the month. In the final month of emphasis on an overleaf, the emphasis can tend to fade gently or amplify greatly. At this point, we see a shift away from amplification of Phobia, the Negative Pole, and a return to the Positive Pole of Deliberate. This will not be true “across the board,” but more so than has been in the past couple of months. Most of our students have now seen how the Negative Pole for this Mode shows up as events unfolded in the world and in personal circles where Phobia rises, unwarranted panic, defenses, irrational behaviors and thinking and feeling. And now you may begin to see a bit of the more-positive side of Caution in the Deliberate behaviors that show up as more carefully thought out, with clearer intent, and with some rationale behind them. What may come as a surprise is that clear intent and rationale are not always paired with kindness and “good.” The difference is in the irrational vs rational, not necessarily in the approval or appreciation of the end results. What this may mean is an amplification of Caution toward the Positive Pole, and based on this year’s patterns so far, this would likely show up as entrenchment and headstrong plowing forth with the clear intent that crashes up against many others with their own entrenchment and headstrong clarity of intent. One of the benefits of this Mode being moved to the Positive Pole is that regardless of clashing and crashing of various clear intentions and headstrong rationale, the more inclusive, loving, and beneficial of the behaviors would tend to prevail in the clashes. This is not a guarantee, but it does tend in this direction because when two variations of a Positive Pole meet up, the pattern that is greater in its inclusion would bring into alignment those with less inclusion. This will be more obvious on a larger scale, but in your personal life, you may find that this shows up as inner conflicts between very clear ideas about what to do next and how to do that. What you may find is that you go with the more inclusive, flexible, and gentle methods over any reactionary, defensive, or protective methods, even if the difference is very slight. This shift toward a Positive Pole at this point means this year may quite possibly “turn around” and move away from the spiral into greater and greater division, resistance, pain, and alleviate the effects that seemed imminent from the Chief Features at the end of the year. As Caution amplifies and the inner and outer clashing of intentions helps to sort out what is more inclusive, Cynic may come with only a brief emphasis on its Negative Pole and then move toward the Positive for its “season.” However, the “entry” into Cynic may come as quite rough and harsh near the 3rd and 4th weeks of June, and then soften as July arrives. The Cynic Attitude is the philosophy of living in accord with nature and opposing all conventions that interfere with one’s nature. The Cynic Attitude was born of our species’ very close relationship with the canine which has been in effect since before our transfer from Sirius System and is a term that is a nod to our origins in the “dog star system.” The Cynic Attitude is one that strives to live as inspired by the canine, with nature, reason, and freedom being the highest of priorities, and anything interfering with this is questioned, opposed, and contradicted. The Attitude exists with or without this history as its context for understanding and implementing it, but for Humans, this is how the term came to be and how we found a way to clarify the perspective of this Attitude. A canine can be quite keen on what is not right in an environment and bring this to your attention. Barking as a warning, as information, as indications of danger and even for the pleasures that might have been missed is quite helpful in its innocent alignment with others and the environment. So as the shift toward Cynic begins near the end of the month, it can be helpful to consider behaviors in terms of canine behavior. Are you “barking” as a way to bring attention to that which interferes with or promotes freedom, reason, and nature, or is there simply “barking and snapping” as a way to take a stand against something just to be against something. We will speak more to the nature of the Cynic next month, but the above may be helpful for you to understand and shift more quickly toward the Positive Pole as Cynic becomes emphasized. DATES OF INTEREST (dates are approximate): June 01 - 03 -- ENERGY SHIFT - ENERGY REDUCTION - A plummet in energy may be in effect for many of our students, starting off June as a bit disorienting and agitated. This drain comes only as a means to help “reset” a larger pattern that had been locked in Negative Pole spiral. This drain reflects a kind of stepping out of that greater collective pattern and generating an alternative pattern. Your new, inspired return to the building of more appealing patterns would likely be sensed around the 5th of June. June 20 -- ENERGY SHIFT - ENERGY SURGE - This Energy Surge is paired with the shift of emphasis toward the Cynic Attitude. It may come as a bit of a sharp spike in energy that would bring the usual agitation and heightened sensitivity, or as a sense of excitement for the prospects of a greater collective move toward the Positive Poles of the year. HELPFUL THOUGHTS OVER JUNE: IT IS NEVER TOO LATE - For nearly every pattern and momentum in the universe that could be improved, evolved, changed, and healed, it is never too late. This includes the trajectory of universes and collective paradigms and personal projects and relationships. It is never too late. This is not merely a cliche, it is a Universal Truth. BOW “WOW” or BOW “OW” - As the energy of the Cynic moves into place, it will be important to note whether you or others are “barking” as a means to point to limitations and pleasures, or is the barking simply adding to the noise that harms clarity and vision and meaningful change. Sometimes this may be difficult to know, but one of the key tests for differentiating would be in the motivation. Is the motivation for the benefit of all involved, or is this merely a vehicle of angry defense and rage against something. In other words, it can be helpful to ask if the barking is FOR something or simply AGAINST something.

    CYNICISM

*This is a summarized description using my own interpreted understandings and a mix of many quotes from Michael that can be read+studied in the source material below. Feel free to check in for updates, as more information may be gathered on this topic from newer sessions. CYNICISM- Philosophy of OPPOSITION Cynicism is chosen to see the layers of reality we often choose not to see, or overlook; healthy Cynics then help everyone maintain a broader perspective of reality- one that doesn’t disclude anything. It is the development+implementation of active intelligence and discernment. The Cynic seeks to directly oppose the obvious, appearance or common assumptions of life, themselves or others. There is always more than meets the eye; what is forgotten, missed or taken for granted is what they will uncover. The Cynic can get under your skin, throwing a wrench into the smooth socializing in place because they look beyond for the contents underneath the packaging. In -Denigration, she emphasizes the unapparent to hurt+undermine, actively countering+cutting down to remove+destroy her opposition through opposition, and if there's nothing to oppose, she can even make up contradictions just to be contrary. She can't accept that the simple truth or lack of complexity is all there is, often trying to break something/someone down far more than it can be. This can often be seen as belittling, devaluing, back-handed compliments or smugly loaded statements that evade notice for what they actually mean. As her BLIND SPOT then, this becomes an OBSESSION wherein she not only perpetuates the most outlandish conspiracies, but sees denigration as a necessary evil that is noble or important to oppose, even if it means making up+stretching facts beyond recognition. To move from Denigration to Contradiction, the Cynic must be aware of the effects of her actions, thoughts and words. Rather than use blunt truths to justify her behaviors, she benefits from being Objective about her Oppositions. When she feels defeated, defensive, frustrated, angry, exhausted etc., she must surprise herself by questioning her intent, her perspective, thinking differently, trying a different angle, and expanding her focus to find solutions+alternatives to what is affecting her. In +Contradiction then, she brings light to the flipside/underside, contradicting only if she deems it beneficial to help you or herself see what is missed or unapparent, and to look beyond the surface, beyond the obvious/status quo- and especially, in the pursuit of integrity and truth. -------------------------- SOURCE MATERIAL: You and your Attitude Blind Spots of the Cynic Cynics in Social Situations Young, Old and General Cynicism in Relationships Cynic Community July/August 2011 Energy Report September 2011 Energy Report June 2016 Energy Report July 2016 Energy Report August 2016 Energy Report
  8. Ask Michael September 6, 2015 Channel: Troy Tolley Cynic Appearance in Social Interplay of Overleaves Sentience in Mechanical Bodies Bernie Sanders Kurtis: Hi Michael, I'd like to continue as with last time on how the Cynic appears/acts in social situations. MICHAEL: The Cynic shows up in social situations as the person who "does not miss a thing." The Cynic sees what others do not see, and can be difficult to navigate in social situations because they naturally "throw a wrench" into the smooth social lubrication that is in place. Depending on the overleaves of the Cynic, this person may be more open about this, or more passive-aggressive about their perspectives that challenge the presumptions of others. In the Positive Pole, the Cynic usually sees no need to emphasize attention to what others do not see unless that attention is beneficial. Contradiction does not have to be offensive or derailing of social structures. Contradiction merely points out what is missed as a means to help. However, when the Cynic goes into the Negative Pole, this emphasis on what others may have missed is rarely helpful and serves only to undermine, or Denigrate. For example, if someone is being complimented on how beautiful she is, the Cynic may notice the spinach in her teeth. Everyone else has noticed, too, but may not say anything. The Cynic will likely say something. This information about the spinach in her teeth is simply information, but the Cynic can turn that information into a means to help, or a means to hurt. Pulling her aside to inform her is helpful. Stating, "well, you would probably look more beautiful without a tree in your front teeth" would not be as helpful. It is the same information, but the Cynic must learn how to deliver that information. Another way the Cynic can fall into the Negative Pole is if there is nothing of Contradiction to actually point out. Instead of allowing for the fact that there may be no Contradictions or need for Contradictions, the Cynic might then begin to make up contradictions simply for the sake of being contrary, to denigrate. This is the Attitude who can give the back-handed compliments, and the loaded statements that are cloaked in smug evasiveness like conversation bombs waiting for someone to step into. This is one of the Attitudes who can dismiss the responsibility of communication by saying that they are simply "telling it like it is," or "just telling the truth." When a person must qualify his or her social relationships with dismissive statements such as these, they are more often than not very clear about just how manipulative or irresponsible it is, and wrapping it in "bluntness" and "truth" seems to justify the lack of responsibility. We can elaborate further in more exchanges with you. PeterK: I have a question about the interplay of Overleaves and this particular example is based on someone I know, but not myself. What are the typical characteristics and behaviors of a person with the following description: Third Level Mature male Artisan, Priest Essence Twin, Passion Mode, Acceptance Goal, Idealist Attitude, Moving Part of Emotional Center, and Primary Chief Feature of Impatience? Peter, one of the important things to realize about Overleaves is that they help one to get to know a person, but they do not offer shortcuts to knowing a person. No combination of overleaves will have a "typical" way of being described because of the vast range of choice, influences of imprinting, education, culture, economic status, race, gender, etc. There is a difference between describing a home, and then describing the life that is lived in that home. There is a difference between describing the infrastructure of an individual, and then what that person does with that infrastructure. For instance: The above combination could be described as a person with a great resource of energy (passion) fueled by impulses in reaction or response to inspiration or feelings (moving part/emotional), used in ways that teach the values of accepting and being accepted, and learning to be authentic in his passion to say "yes" (acceptance), while always comparing people and experiences in ways that comply to ideals of improvement (idealism), all while trying to nurture fulfilling ways to create and bring form to ideas in this world (Artisan), and aiming to bring that creativity out and into the world to share instead of keeping it to himself or to only those close to him (3rd Level aiming for 4th Level), while sometimes feeling all of this is a race against time (impatience). This is as stripped of individuality as we can get for a "typical" description, but this combination as it would be described specific to a specific person could get greatly elaborated and nuanced as we accommodated the variables. ViP: The phenomenon known as 'technological singularity' refers to the (theoretical) point in the evolution of a sentient, organic species when its technology has developed sufficiently to allow the individual consciousnesses of its members to be transferred to host bodies built off that species' technology. (For purposes of longevity, increased mental capacity, freedom from disease, and so on.) While this phenomenon is still fictional to us, a number of people take the possibility of it happening very seriously and consider it inevitable. Is such a phenomenon actually possible, and if so, could you describe the ways in which a species actually does or did benefit from making this change? And, would sentiences tend to become increasingly or decreasingly benevolent/considerate toward other species as a result of doing this? It is entirely possible and has been a viable shift for a few variations of Sentience. In almost every case, this scenario was triggered by a known threat to the species, usually of a biological nature to an extent that requires the emphasis if survival is to be ensured. Because the shift away from dependency on biology for the sustaining of life, the Sentience has one of two solutions in place that help the evolutionary process: one is those bodies are shared by many Essences over time, and each "incarnation" is a reprogramming of the genetic software to accommodate the new Essences. Essences tend to then incarnate in waves that change out entire clusters very close together. So rather than aging and dying, the bodies power down and reboot. The other way this lack of dependency on limited time in a body is accommodated is through willing disassembly. Rather than "dying," most will know when they are done, and turn the bodies in for upgrades, parts, recycling, variations, etc. Again, the power is reduced or halted and then reprogramming and rebooting is what allows the next Essence to move in. Procreation is still possible, but only by those who learn how to build machines. In other words, you can combine creativity and knowledge to create your "children." Most that we know of opt to simply place their orders through collective resources. Because of the dynamic that tends to be in place to move Sentience in this direction, the interest in aggression and war tend to wane drastically, but there can be issues if access to maintenance and resources for repairs are sparse. There is usually a transition period that can last quite some time, and this transition has always been helped through companionship with biological creatures, or companion animals. The transition must be met with some infusion of responsibility and nurturing of life. The benefits are quickly learned, but is vital. We could continue to elaborate upon this in further exchanges. We will take a final question now. GeraldineB: I'd like the basic profile information for Senator Bernie Sanders, the presidential candidate – including Cadre/Entity . . . .and, probabilities of winning both the Party nomination and then the General Election (I know, I know – just the probabilities as they stand now) BERNIE SANDERS = 1st Level Old manifesting between 5th and 7th Level Mature Server-Cast Sage from Cadre 2, Entity 1 with a Warrior Essence Twin, an Idealist in Passion with a Goal of Submission with balanced Centering that leans toward Moving Part of Emotional Center. Probabilities of winning the Party nomination stand around 35% and the General Election around 45%.
  9. Michael Speaks Live – Open Floor August 22, 2015 Channel: Troy Tolley Topics: Old Souls Learning through Terror Was Sept. 11, 2001 as Claimed? Positive Thinking Cynic Blind Spot Mata Amritanandamayi aka Amma ViP: You have said that old souls learn through terror, but it is so incredibly difficult to think when one is terrified, especially if one is already susceptible to panic or anxiety attacks. What is it that an old soul does or can do under such mental conditions that produces learning? MEntity: The terrors that an Old Soul faces are quite existential. The learning comes because these fears are faced consciously. For instance, it is one thing to decide that life has meaning (Mature Soul), and quite another to realize that you are the creator of that meaning (Old Souls). This is terrifying. The inner conflict between meaninglessness and meaning then take on a terrifying state because the existential questioning of whether there is meaning without your meaning means there is no real meaning at all. This is an example of the terror of the Old Soul and in understanding such a terror, you can likely see how there is no way around the learning that comes with these experiences. Keep in mind that we speak of the soul/Essence learning here. The Personality may ignore or evade or fight or resist or panic or embrace, but the learning will still come. The panic and terror that the Personality may already be susceptible to may be very different from the terror of which we speak. Some issues such as those are due to experiences, choices, and reactions of the Personality and may be wholly unrelated. ViP: I see. MEntity: Anxiety attacks are the result of control issues or chemical floods that must be managed. These are reactions. They are of the body. They are defenses. The terror from which the Old Soul learns may provoke those reactions, but they are separate things, and those of the body require a different context of learning, such as how to manage the reactions, how to balance the chemicals, how to breathe and think clearly. Those are more immediate lessons learned relative to the body and current Personality, but the terrors that face the Old Soul prompt a learning that is permanent and carries forth with the soul. Geraldine: Hello, Michael. This is being asked with “some” humor. Having recently watched the movie Zeitgeist and its review of the events leading up to and following the 9/11 collapse of the World Trade Center, I want to ask: was in a major way part of what has become the conspiracy theories – a false flag operation by our own government and/or industrialists? Somehow, you've not answered this very specifically within the TLE group. I understand there was a LOT of chaos in other Michael groups after it, though. I WANT THE TRUTH!!! MEntity: The official story is wrought with deception and misinformation, and while we are still unclear as to the whole of "who" implemented this event, we do know it was not orchestrated by those officially faulted. It is clear enough to us that it was orchestrated from "the inside." We are not making a prediction when we say that this will be made known. There are several who are desperately wounded by the weight of their knowledge. GeraldineB: This I would imagine MEntity: False flag operations were involved, yes. GeraldineB: how deeply deeply disturbing and ugly MEntity: The compartmentalization of implementation was key to this event in that after-the-fact those who were not intentionally involved were then put in positions of compromise as they realized how they contributed. GeraldineB: now, THAT's a mindfuck MEntity: We are not seeking to stoke the conspiracies, as many of them are quite outlandish and delusional, but there are key elements that are quite obvious as validation that there was more involved than the official story. royceputsout: Hello michael, One of the only sure fire ways I really know of getting into the positive poles is the simplistic 1. allowing my painful parts to exist 2. building on that by putting focus on thoughts that feel better, are more inclusive, positive, see MORE. This works until I begin to fear my absolute delusion that I am becoming one of those " positive thinking" new agers. Yet, this method works. So to break my fear of being delusional , can you shed light on how one might FEEL the difference between a " positive" thought and a positive thought that is in alignment with essence. The only one I can think of is that the " positive" thought doesn't feel that good and the POSITIVE thought feels ON, ALIVE, like ME. The method is terrifyingly simple, but in other words, i just do not trust it yet and want to. MEntity: One key way to determine if your "positive thinking" is beneficial or harmful is if that positive thinking helps you to escape dealing with life. It is one thing if it helps you to take a break from the stress of an experience, but quite another to escape from responsibility altogether. If the positive thinking helps you to deal, then they are positive. If they help you to avoid, they are probably not positive. If they help you to deal in a new way, a different way, that is also of benefit. Sometimes that new way or different way is less tangible, and not directly or immediately obvious. For example, simply nurturing positive (inclusive) thoughts will already have its positive effects, but those effects may require your participation for full implementation. Many who struggle to control outcomes can do more harm than good by being so tightly entangled with the potential and probabilities of life. When these individuals surrender that control and invite Essence in to participate, it is not a practice in avoidance, it is an invitation to expand in your possibilities and potential. If you are faced with a pressing issue, you may find that you have little control over it, and it can be of benefit to be positive and trusting as you stumble along. This is not escapism. It is a means of keeping parts of you free to do the work that your conscious mind may not know (how) to do. It is similar to a mathematician working out a formula and finding no solutions, only to dream the solution after falling asleep. royceputsout: yes, to me focusing on the inclusive thoughts is all about bringing more of myself into the world. I asked because it seems really like the only way...even if it's not our attitude, we still need to shift into inclusive thoughts to even put our goal into its positive poles. i mean this is all discussion for another time but learning to trust the more inclusive thoughts feels relevant in all cases. MEntity: It is the only way. That is part of the dynamic of Essence Recognition, which is the only means of evolution. Essence Recognition is not limited to being between fragments, but within the self, as well. When you include all of you, there is Recognition. There is evolution. Kurtis: Hi Michael, :) I'd like to continue with my previous series of Qs on how the Cynic appears/acts in social situations. NOTE: At the end of session: MEntity: CLARIFICATION: Troy misread Kurtis' question and we responded in terms of the Blind Spot. – Social Situations will be another time. MEntity: The Cynic, basically, sees the world in terms of opposing the obvious or appearances or common assumptions. Kurtis: huh interesting PeterK: Does the Astral Plane have equivalents or analogues of the following concepts: day/night, work/play, awake/asleep? MEntity: Yes. The Astral is strongly linked to the Sentience and its primary planet, so a great deal of its nature is similar, particularly in the lower and mid levels. This is not a static atmosphere, but is optional. Many opt into it as a means of helping to stay in sync with time as it exists in the Physical Plane. Particularly as it relates to the primary planet of incarnation. And because the incarnation process is still greatly in effect for those in the Astral, the familiarity is quite comforting. Though there are no Physical Bodies that require rest, there is still a valid benefit to rest, and this is primarily in terms of Emotional rest. There is work that is both in terms of individual work on personal projects, and work that is contributed to communities. Many of the innovations and inventions of the Physical Plane come from the work that is done in the Astral, first. Play is quite familiar, and can come in any form, except with far fewer restrictions on possibilities, of course. There is even "weather." All of this is collectively generated and sustained, and contributes to the evolving understanding of how our consciousness is linked. Maureen1: Michael, who is Amma? Is Amma a “saint” as some have suggested, “simply” a healer, a transcendent soul such as Mother Meera, or something else? This is what is written about her on her website. Maureen1: “Mata Amritanandamayi is known throughout the world as Amma, or Mother, for her selfless love and compassion toward all beings. Her entire life has been dedicated to alleviating the pain of the poor, and those suffering physically and emotionally. Maureen1: Throughout her life, Mata Amritanandamayi has embraced and comforted more than 34 million people. Amma inspires, uplifts, and transforms through her embrace, her spiritual wisdom and through her global charities, known as Embracing the World. When asked where she gets the energy to help so many people, she answers: "Where there is true love, anything is effortless." MEntity: The fragment in question is a 7th Level Mature Server in Submission who is kind and compassionate. The culture from which she comes is quite relatively restricting in terms of possibilities for females, so her status is in part due to her own devotion to her cause, but also because others see their potential reflected in her. If she could be lifted to a state that transcended the limitations of culture, then that may be a path out for others. Her behavior and choices are that of a Server in Submission in the Positive Poles, but the status and more magical effects granted to her are greatly dependent upon projection. If this same fragment had been born in the United States, she may very likely have been a well-known doctor who was not known on a large scale. But the culture from which she comes is always quite eager to escalate and elevate those deemed a meaningful status. Though not quite the same, there is a "celebrity" mentality involved that can "make a star" of someone even as they exhibit quite normal behaviors. While the Young United States may elevate Paris Hilton for exemplifying the ideals of Young Souls, India will do the same for those who exemplify the ideals of the Mature. This worked for the Server as she can now teach what she has learned as a Mature Soul.
