  1. May 16, 2002 Troy Tolley, Channel You and your attitude [M_Entity] Hello to all of you. We are here. We understand the topic to be that of Attitudes as they are defined within our teaching. Of course, there are 7 Attitudes, as there are 7 of every other Overleaf in our system. The 7 Attitudes are the Neutral or Assimilative PRAGMATIST, the Inspirational Stoic and Spiritualist, the Expressional Skeptic and Idealist, and the Actional Cynic and Realist. The Attitudes are specifically your personal means to interpret reality. The Attitudes could easily be said to be The 7 Basic Philosophies, as much of what is our more complete system now has been found isolated in various teachings throughout the ages. Each Attitude can easily find a correlation of a philosophy, which can shed a great deal of light on your personal Attitude. The Attitude could be said to be the “pivot” or “hinge” within our Personality System around which all other facets of your Personality move. Because the Attitude is intrinsically linked to your Intellect, the Attitude can “make or break” your sense of peace, trust, wholeness, etc. Whether you are Intellectually Centered or not, you still have an Intellect, and that Intellect works hard to interpret and make sense of reality. So, too, does your Attitude. It will go a long way toward freeing you from the traps of the Attitude and Intellect if you understand that it is not necessarily “the point” to “make sense” of reality, because literally, it is the opposite: your senses MAKE reality. Though we say your Attitude “interprets” reality, it may be more effective to understand that your Attitude “filters” reality. Both are valid descriptions. Though an Attitude is far from an imposition, it CAN be a limitation if you find you are not able to function within your ;particular Attitude's full spectrum of use. It can easily be said that, from the absolute worst struggles, to the most trivial of frustrations, these experiences are directly a reflection of how you are using your Attitude. When your Attitude is in its Negative Pole, regardless of what that may be, you have determined that you have completed your need for input for your basic philosophical stance. When the Negative Pole of the Attitude is in control, reality loses its creativity and flexibility, and instead becomes a tangled mess that must be understood immediately, even if the means to do so have not even come to pass. We can speak generally of Attitudes because the basic experience is quite consistent; it is the HOW of it all that is different among them. For instance, an Idealist in the Negative Pole and a Cynic in the Negative Pole will both share the struggle of trying to understand something within a limitation of input, but the Idealist will “naively” bumble his way through, while the Cynic will use “denigration” to destroy anything outside his comprehension. In the case of the Cynic, we do not mean an attempt to literally destroy, but that the Cynic will actively fight to remove any contradictions from his determined perception. In the case of each Axis of Attitude, you will find when they are in the Negative Pole, the reaction of the Attitude is to eliminate the Positive Pole experiences. When the Stoic is “resigned,” he will use inspiration to lead others into resignation, to validate his own perceptions. The Spiritualist will use inspiration to impose his beliefs on others as strongly as possible, to remove the need for verifying his perceptions. The Skeptic will simply express strong suspicions, riling others into an insecure space of perception, to remove the need for investigation. The Idealist will naively take on lofty goals and intentions, either with or without awareness, setting himself up for failure, so as to remove the experience of coalescence, which is the bringing together of parts to make a whole. The Cynic will actively remove all that contradicts his own determined perception. The Realist will insist that her perceptions are based in fact, even against the strongest of feedback that she is inaccurate, so as to remove her from having to be Objective. In addition, the Pragmatist will continue doing things, thinking about things, expressing things, exactly as they have worked for her to her satisfaction, regardless of the fact that input is dictating that there are more practical ways for the same things. The reason the Negative Pole is so strongly interested in eliminating the Positive Pole experiences is because the Attitude is the “brother or sister” to the Chief Features. We speak of these traits with anthropomorphic descriptions, only for the sake of relating, but we do not wish for you to mistake this means of description as if these parts of you are a separate consciousness. We do not say that they are, nor do we imply that they are. Because of our limitation of time, we will quickly point out what we believe may be the most important concern for your understanding of the Attitudes. Since the Attitude can be your prison or your means to complete freedom, we believe that when you are struggling in any area of your life, the first place to look would be to your Attitude. In understanding your Attitude, you would clearly be able to see that you may be in the Negative Pole, but the fastest and most effective means to move yourself out of it, is simply to choose a different angle of perception. Since the Attitude, while in the Negative Pole, so intently seeks to remove the experience of the Positive Pole of your Attitude, the “trick” is to use the Positive Pole of the Attitude that shares your Axis. If the effort is made, within minutes your life can change; or at least your attitude toward it, which can then lead to changing your life. When the Spiritualist is lost in her Beliefs and continues to find she is blocked from real, fulfilling Verification of her perceptions, it can free her to “slide” to the Positive Pole of Stoicism, which would be Tranquility. When Belief is in control, there is usually a strong need to get others to share in the belief, even if you, yourself have not Verified its place in your life. When the Spiritualist slides to Tranquility, she relaxes and surrenders gently to her perceptions. This then allows her to Verify things for herself, instead of finding others to do it for her. On the other hand, the Stoic may have given up on his life, resigning, which is a passive stance to the life. If he were to slide to Verification, he would be able to find that much of what he has resigned himself to is not even valid anymore as an imposition. We may not be able to go through all of the Attitudes with examples, but we will note that the Pragmatist has the ability to slide to ANY of the other Attitudes as a means to free himself from Dogma. We will now take any questions you may have, so we can respond to you, rather than use your time teaching what may already be available in print. QUESTIONS [MDFSage_Val] Can you describe a “spectrum of use” for an Idealist, or is this more an individual fragment thing/issue? [M_Entity] An Idealist lives within the spectrum of being “cursed” and “blessed” with the constant want for improvement. The Idealist has such a wider vision of most things that he can see patterns where others cannot. Within those patterns, he can also see how they can be improved, manipulated, or altered for the better. The struggle then comes from the Idealist being able to see the big picture, but not putting the effort into defining the STEPS it will take to get there. Therein lies the spectrum from Naivety to Coalescence. An Idealist can see that he has potential to run a marathon, but instead of taking the steps to prepare, he simply, naively runs in the marathon, until he collapses from the pain he could have avoided. [Suzanne] Michael, How would be best for an idealist & a spiritualist to relate to each other, one expresses while the other inspires? [M_Entity] The Spiritualist will always interpret relationships in terms of how inspiring they are, while the Idealist will interpret the relationships in terms of how much improvement is coming from them. [Suzanne] Rather interesting, as it can compliment. [M_Entity] If the Spiritualist feels her relationships are not inspiring, or that she is not inspiring, she will lose interest. The Idealist must feel as if the relationships are somehow improving each other, or he will feel they are not worth it. [Suzanne] Thank you, I understand better now [M_Entity] We are using pronouns randomly, for the sake of grammar. We are not intending anything to be specifically assigned to a gender. [Suzanne] Understood that too, thanks. [M_Entity] The Spiritualist could be said to be “cursed” and “blessed” with the philosophy that everything has potential. Within that spectrum, you will find the experiences ranging from blind faith or belief to valid verification of those potentials. We will point out one last point for your consideration before concluding tonight. When you are in the Negative Pole of your Attitude, you may find you are behaving more and more like the Attitude sharing your Axis, or attracting, or attracted to, those who share your Axis. This is your inherent move toward balance in perception and even if this is done without awareness, it manages, at least, to continue to give the option of choosing how you interpret your reality. So, an Idealist may tend to be very critical and skeptical as a means to balance his Idealism; the Spiritualist may find she is becoming less and less emotional and more passive as she seeks balance for her Beliefs. We shared as much as we could within your time allotted. We have much more to say about this topic, of course. We will conclude here. Good Night to all of you.
  2. NWM - Aug 15, 2015 - Blind Spots of Attitude Channel: Troy Tolley MEntity: Hello to you each of you. We are here, now. We will begin. ClaireC: Hi! Diane_HB: Hi Michael! MEntity: Today we will speak to the "blind spots" of your Attitude. Though we have clear delineation of each Overleaf in terms of polarities, there can come a time in the evolution of an Essence when all of the "tricks" of fear, Chief Features, and Negative Poles are exhausted as methods defense, division, and isolation. This can take many lifetimes to exhaust because every lifetime brings with it a new Personality, so all of these methods are still "new" every single time. Fearful choices and reactions can be used over and over and then overcome, only to be found anew in the next life. However, the older the soul, the thinner that "veil" is between the Personality and Essence, and you begin to live AS Essence. And Essence knows all of the tricks of fear. We speak in convenient terms here that may seem to personify fear as something independent from you, but that is not the case. We know you know this. As the Personality evolves in a lifetime, and particularly when studying and applying a teaching such as this, it can become quite obvious and clear when one is in the Negative Pole by definition, and choices can be made to remedy this. These means of navigation, choice, and self-observation are quite beneficial to reducing unwarranted fear. And while this can reduce the hold of Chief Features by up to 90% and beyond, it will not address the blind spots that each of you develop. These blind spots are your downfall. They are your bad days. They are your "people suck" scenarios. They are your "I suck" scenarios. They are your haunting undercurrents of pointlessness, or your ominous dread that you keep in check. In short, they are your means of evading responsibility for your fear. The fear we speak of will be relative to your Chief Feature, but we likely not speak to those today. We speak of the means by which that fear gets a hold and becomes acceptable to you in ways that perpetuate the hold of Chief Feature so that it is comforting, addictive, and "sensible." Before we continue: do each of you know your Attitude? Name your Attitude now, if you do. PeterK: Skeptic. Diane_HB: Pragmatist ViP: Spiritualist Maureen: Realist ClaireC: Spiritualist Bobby: Pragmatist Diane_HB: Troy/Geraldine are Idealists MEntity: Keep in mind that you may not like what we have to say today. Diane_HB: LOL ViP: hmm MEntity: We will prioritize details based on the Attitudes here, then expand into those that are not listed, if time permits. PRAGMATIST The Pragmatist, basically, interprets the world in terms of WHAT WORKS. The Pragmatist at his or her best has a keen sense of efficiency and elegance. We have defined "elegance" as that economy of energy that gives the greatest amount of return for the least amount of expenditure. When the Pragmatist is in the Negative Pole, it can be quite obvious as Dogma. The Pragmatist thinks that it is his or her way "or the highway," or they simply continue to repeat and impose methods that work for themselves even as they may not work for others. There are many ways that Dogma can show up, but it is often fairly obvious in that it is immovable and unwavering in perception. However, the Blind Spot can be far more "sensible" and more difficult to call out within the self as a Pragmatist, or for others to call out in the Pragmatist. Because the Pragmatist sees the world in terms of WHAT WORKS, their Blind Spot can be related to any area where they do not wish to do that work. If it is someone else's problem, it is THEIR problem. If it is not an issue that the Pragmatist struggles with, then it is a silly issue. If it is a struggle that the Pragmatist has overcome, then why cannot others do the same? The Pragmatist sensibly falls into Dogma by dismissing, distancing, and even denigrating the oh-so-inefficient struggles of others. The Pragmatist Blind Spot may then be described as INSENSITIVITY. It is the tiresome extra effort necessary to inefficiently empathize. Diane_HB: ? MEntity: Solutions to struggles seem quite obvious to the Pragmatist who is not directly involved with that struggle or that type of struggle: simply stop struggling. Do something else. Walk away. Do not respond. Let it go. When the Pragmatist finds this is his or her response to the struggles of another, it may be the Blind Spot in effect that allows him or her to justify Dogma. This is also true of his or her own struggles. There are times when this same policy is imposed upon the self. Why am I upset? That is so inefficient. I can just walk away and leave it alone. Or "suck it up." The emphasis shifts only to WHAT WORKS and away from the WHY of what is being experienced. Life is inefficient. Experience is not organized. It is messy. For the Pragmatist, the Blind Spot convinces him or her that if it is a struggle, if it is messy, if it is not efficient, it is not worth it. It does not work. As Pragmatists, if you find this oversimplification in effect, you are probably being blind to the messy depths of an experience that is either yours to experience, or yours to help another through. You are being Insensitive. Do the Pragmatists relate? Bobby: Oh yes! Diane_HB: Yes MEntity: SPIRITUALISTS The Spiritualist, basically, sees life as if it has never been seen before. There is an awe as an undercurrent to the basic philosophy of the life when at its best. The Spiritualist looks for signs, interconnectedness, resonance, and meaning in "everything." This is why they must VERIFY, the Positive Pole. So much of "everything" can be interpreted as messages, interconnectedness, signs, etc., that life can become a din of symbolism that drowns out all of the messages. When the Spiritualist is overwhelmed by the messages and meaning of life, they can retreat into an isolating system of BELIEFS that removes the noise of life, and simply decides what is true, decides what people mean, decides what will happen, decides what happened, and that is that. If the Spiritualist believes it, then it happened. That is that. Now the world is interpreted through that system of Belief, and the inconvenience of Verifying lets the Spiritualist simply decide what is true. This is the obvious polarization within the Spiritualist, and most older souls begin to realize this and make the effort to Verify. They do not let themselves simply decide what is true; they ask questions. They question themselves. They are OK with being wrong. They allow room for nuance and context so that nothing is only True or Not True. However, the Blind Spot then comes into play as these polarities come to be navigated more consciously. For the Spiritualist, this Blind Spot is EXCUSES. The Spiritualist can tend to justify his or her behaviors, attitude, and choices by deferring to "the universe" as the force behind the reasoning for those choices, attitudes, and behaviors. By "the universe" we mean circumstances, behaviors of others, obligations, responsibilities, expectations of meaning and message. Though all Attitudes may be use this method, it is often the Spiritualists who "leave it up to the Universe," or "we'll see what happens," etc. The Spiritualist takes a passive seat to the efforts necessary for choice. This allows two things: Beliefs to stay intact, and responsibility to be evaded. In other words, the Spiritualist may find that he or she always has an excuse. If the Spiritualist is upset, there is a "reason." It is not merely that he or she interpreted events through Belief. If the Spiritualist does not succeed at an expectation or intention, then it is "the universe" who decided this, not that the Spiritualist merely need alter or adapt efforts. And so BELIEF remains unquestioned. Do the Spiritualists relate? ViP: yes ClaireC: Oh yes. MEntity: IDEALISTS The Idealist, basically, sees life in terms of how it SHOULD BE, or how it can be improved. Though all fragments will navigate with some level of expectation, the Idealist navigates almost entirely based in expectations. Expectations are healthy. They are a means of navigation and help one to shape choices and actions and feelings in response to the possibilities of life. Both Spiritualists and Idealists are quite familiar with rocky terrain of expectation, but the Idealist takes this to a new level. The Spiritualist can tend to have expectations of the world around him or her as a means of navigating potential, but the Idealist can tend to generate expectations from others of himself or herself that the Spiritualist can avoid. The Idealist in the Negative Pole can be obvious in his or her naive approach to fulfilling an ideal. They set high expectations without considering the necessary components that need to be in place for coming together to fulfill the ideal. While the Spiritualist will make Excuses for his or her disappointments and failing of potential, the Idealist will COMPARTMENTALIZE. The Blind Spot, however, we will describe as REPERCUSSIONS. The Idealist, when in Naivety, will distance himself or herself from the Repercussions of failed expectations by using compartmentalizing. The Positive Pole of the Idealist is a Coalescing of parts that must come together to fulfill the ideal, so when the Idealist is in the Negative Pole, the parts become divided and compartmentalized so that the whole picture can no longer be seen, experienced, felt. The Repercussions are avoided, ignored, or distanced from the self. This is an insidious form of Naivety Troy can attest to his relating to all of this. As may Geraldine. REALIST The Realist, basically, sees life FOR WHAT IT IS. Sometimes "it sucks" and sometimes it does not. When the Realist is in the Positive Pole, it is not personal. They are OBJECTIVE. Life happens. Choices have consequences. Actions have impact. Feelings are important, but not the truth. The Realist knows all of this and interprets life and experiences accordingly. It can be quite obvious when the Realist falls into Subjectivity because then things become personal. The Objectivity is lost and Subjectivity is in effect. The distance and clarity is lost in favor of how personal something has become. When things get personal for the Realist, it is unnerving, disorienting, and even paralyzing, though sometimes a lashing out can occur to help force a false distance to return. By "personal" we mean that the individual can no longer see himself or herself as PART of a dynamic, but begin to see themselves as sucked into middle or as the focus of the dynamic The Realist in the Negative Pole can be quite obvious as their defenses tend to rise quite high. But as the soul grows older, the Realist can begin to recognize these defenses and transform a "personal" experience so that it moves from being Subjective to being Objective, and the Realist is returned to be a part of the dynamic, instead of the focus or center of it. But the Blind Spot of the Realist is INCONVENIENCE. The older soul Realist can navigate the precarious balance between Objectivity and Subjectivity, but heaven forbid you interfere with their convenience. This can "set them off" into Subjectivity faster than even your pressing and imposing problems that spill unwelcomed into their space. The more inconvenient you are, the more you can send the Realist into the Negative Pole. The more inconvenienced the Realist, the more he or she can feel he or she has been imposed upon in ways that lock them into Subjectivity. We do not say this mockingly. It is not a superficial term we use here. Convenience is a prized state that the Realist works hard to secure in his or her life. They know life can be hard, so they hone the life into ways, paths, and patterns that uphold the quality and benefit of convenience. This is a natural byproduct of having such an Attitude, and it is a healthy response to the acknowledgement of the range of experience that life can bring. Hardship and struggle WILL happen, so why not secure as many conveniences as possible to help balance that out. This helps the Realist, then, remain Objective. But it can become their Blind Spot, as well. If inconvenienced, Subjectivity can take hold, and then the defenses come up. Does the attending Realist relate? Maureen: Yes ClaireC: And the friend of the Realist too. ? ViP: ? Maureen: I can see all the Blindspots of the other Attitudes, as well. ? MEntity: If we are doing our job correctly, all of these will be clearly represented among you and around you. Diane_HB: I can see them ClaireC: Very clearly. MEntity: SKEPTIC The Skeptic, basically, sees life as if it to be inherently questioned and disproven. Put another way, the Skeptic sees life as something to Investigate. When the Skeptic is in the Positive Pole, the Skeptic is comfortable questioning assumptions, patient in his or her search and research for answers, and does not experience this constant questioning as anything more than a means to learn, understand, and build insights. The effort to disprove is not an effort to tear down, but to ensure that there is strength in the proof. The questioning is a means to flesh out meaning and depth, not to strip of value and integrity. The reason the emphasis is on disproof over proof is because there are far more claims in life than there are lack of claims. When the Skeptic falls into SUSPICION, he or she does not stop questioning or disproving, but does so from the premise that there are inherent and intentional deceit and hidden truths involved. The Blind Spot of the Skeptic, then, is DISSATISFACTION. This is a sense that nothing can truly satisfy the questions, the doubt, the investigation, and leaves the individual locked in Suspicion. The Skeptic can find that this Dissatisfaction is sensible and then continue in Suspicion, never truly learning or expanding in insight, but cycling through layers and layers of presumed deceit and lies and misinformation. This is another of the Attitudes that often has to learn that it is okay to be wrong, or that lack of solid validation and empirical evidence does not imply deceit. Does the attending Skeptic relate? PeterK: Yes, very much so. I have several files on my computer titled, "Investigation of ..." ClaireC: lol MEntity: We know we have not covered all Attitudes, but these are for those in attendance. We will now take your questions. We have about 10 minutes remaining. QUEUE IS OPEN ViP: Hi Michael, if a person slides from one Attitude to another, does that make them open to that Attitude's blind spot, as well as their own "native" blind spot? MEntity: The native Overleaf is key, but the additional Blind Spots can become double-blind spots. If you notice a Blind Spot that is not of your resting Attitude, you can use this insight to then see how that is serving that default Attitude. Bobby: Claire was forfeiting her question, so without elaborating due to time restraints, would you at least name the blind spot of the other two Attitudes: Stoic and Cynic? MEntity: STOIC - DISCONNECT; CYNIC - OBSESSION. PeterK: I often have trouble seeing possibilities. Is this related to my Skeptic blind spot? MEntity: Inherent in the Ordinal Attitudes is a more focused range of perception and interpretation. Inherent in the Cardinal or Exalted Attitudes comes the broader interpretations that require a greater sense of possibilities. Your focus is not a blind spot. You would not be able to truly Investigate if a wide range of possibilities were acceptable to you. It is a strength of Skeptic to narrow possibilities before they propagate into meaninglessness. This does not mean you will always find your answers, but it does mean you will have a greater probability of this than other Attitudes that may allow room for a wide range that is never validated. However, if Dissatisfaction has narrowed your sense of possibilities to such an extent that you are no longer searching for answers, but only searching for evidence to support your suspicions, then, yes, it can be related to that blind spot. We will conclude here for today. Good day to each of you. Goodbye, for now. Blindspot for STOIC was obtained by JanetE on 8/19/2015: MEntity: The Stoic, basically, sees the world as if it has all been seen before. Most things are not surprising. Most people are not surprising. Enthusiasm is not denied, but it is a prized resource that is used quite carefully. When the Stoic embraces the mundanity of life, there is a kind of TRANQUILITY that is embraced. Things and people are not required to be surprising. They are not required to entertain or be more than they are. There is a kind of peace in the familiar, rather than a boredom or resentment. This familiarity is not something that is clung to, but rather accepted as a force in life that is as meaningful as anything new and exciting. However, while the Stoic embraces the mundane, it is done so with the understanding that surprises will happen. They are as built into a life as mundanity. If the Stoic goes too long without a surprise, then the Attitude can fall into Resignation. If the Stoic is overwhelmed with too many surprises, then the Attitude can fall into Resignation. The Stoic, then, has her Blind Spot as DISCONNECT because she is either tired of the same old things being repeated and presented as if new and surprising when she presumes she already knows all there is to know or experience regarding that thing, or the Disconnect comes because too many new and exciting surprises are tossed into the mix that pushes the Stoic into Resignation. It becomes sensible to the Stoic to simply Disconnect, turn off, tune out, because it is all going to be the same things again and again anyway. It becomes sensible to the Stoic to simply Disconnect, turn off, tune out, because too much is too much and rather than navigate it, it simply needs to stop being the focus. When the Stoic finds she is tuning out, turning off, Disconnecting, it is likely because she has found it difficult to process too much of the same thing, or too much of a new thing. The return to Tranquility can come when the "too much" is removed from the equation, and is replaced with moderation, rather than shut down. In addition to this, the Stoic in Disconnect and Resignation can do well to remember Experiential Differentiation. This is the truth that, regardless of how many times one experiences something, there is always potential for that experience to bring something new, meaningful, and valuable. There is more we can say on this subject, of course, but this is a quick synopsis. Blindspot for CYNIC was obtained by Kurtis on 8/23/2015: MEntity: The Cynic, basically, sees the world in terms of opposing the obvious or appearances or common assumptions. The Cynic knows there is almost always more than meets the eye. The Cynic, then, is always looking beyond the surface, always willing to look in the opposite directions, always interested in the contents, not the packaging. This is CONTRADICTION. When in the Positive Pole, the Cynic simply Contradicts the obvious. This is similar to questioning, doubting, and allowing room for being wrong. However, when the Cynic falls into the Negative Pole of Denigration, it is because he cannot accept that what is known is all there is. The simple truth or the lack of complexity can trigger Denigration, or the breaking down of something or someone beyond its capacity to break down. It is Contradiction for the sake of contradiction rather than as a means to know more. The Cynic learns that sometimes, and more often than not, there is nothing more, no hidden or secret meaning, no blind dichotomy. Something or someone is simply what can be seen, experienced, and known. So the Cynic questions and then that is that. However, the Cynic can develop a Blind Spot that prompts them to continue questioning, continue breaking something or someone down, and this turns into an Obsession. Some of the most outlandish conspiracies are perpetuated by Cynics in Obsession. Denigration is seen as a necessary evil that is noble and important to impose, even as it means making up and stretching facts beyond recognition. The Spiritualist and Cynic are similar in their fall into "beliefs" in this regard.

    STOICISM

*This is a summarized description using my own interpreted understandings and a mix of many quotes from Michael that can be read+studied in the source material below. Feel free to check in for updates, as more information may be gathered on this topic from newer sessions. STOICISM- Philosophy of NATURE Stoicism is chosen for its built-in capacity to slow down its processes of time, such as that reactions can be either evaded or diminished without betraying those processes felt underneath. The Stoic sees life in terms of its nature, and they understand that one’s nature, environment and upbringing are naturally limiting and have their effects. That all of these contribute to the character+behavior of any person/situation, in somewhat deterministic ways. Stoics see the world as if it’s all been seen before- fairly unflinching, unsurprised and perhaps uninterested, they manage life and view ethics in terms of one’s self-management, self-control and self-awareness. In -Resignation, she goes too long seeing the same old without any surprises- and it is all grey, diminished, and less than it is-, or she is overwhelmed by too many new, or exciting surprises that throw her off. She just stops trying, giving up to a false, imposed form of calm- “It’s all going to be the same, so there’s no use in seeing it any differently.” In this state she comes across as tedious, draining, difficult to communicate with and lacking passion, interest and attention. There is a sense of defeated distraction. And this prompts her BLIND SPOT, in that she DISCONNECTS, tunes out and turns off because too much of the same thing is being presented as if new/exciting when she presumes she already knows all there is to know from that, or too much of a new thing is being thrown in. It's too much for her to process, and it just needs to stop being the focus. To move from Resignation to Tranquility, Stoicism must Verify if what she's resigned to is actually an imposition to her or her life anymore- if there is something new+valuable the experience can bring that can be meaningful to her that she resonates with. Once this meaning comes- a sense of focus, change, beauty in chaos and serenity can return. In +Tranquility, she is attentive, cool-headed and informed: embracing both life’s mundanities and surprises as meaningful experiences. Nothing to her, is required to be more than it already is, as this Stoic knows the ups+downs of life, and behaviors of others are simply part of their natures. The Tranquil Stoic is calmly present- adapting+adjusting her perceptions as a means to see clearly: to remain, and be truly calm. ----------------------------- SOURCE MATERIAL: You and your Attitude Blind Spots of the Stoic Stoics in Social Situations Member: Janet- Stoicism July 2015 Energy Report September 2015 Energy Report
  4. ENERGY REPORT September 2015 2015 OVERLEAVES ROLE: Scholar (emphasized all year) CENTER: H. Moving (default to Moving) (emphasized all year) GOAL: Submission (emphasized Jan - Mar) MODE: Caution (emphasized Apr - Jun) ATTITUDE: Stoic (emphasized Jul - Sep) CHIEF FEATURES: Stubbornness/Greed (emphasized Oct - Dec) SEPTEMBER brings with it a close to the Stoic Attitude and another round of freeing up the Higher Moving Energy that will likely show up in a range between Dissonance and Resonance, Chaos and Beauty. These qualities would likely show up within and around our students, not just in one place or another. Many of our students have had a more difficult time moving through the emphasis of energy of the Stoic Attitude, so the experience of Resignation (the negative pole) may start to become heavy, and begin to crack and release the Higher Moving Energy in startling ways that are working to clear the perception of Resignation. However, because it is a rise from the Negative Pole, it may not look or feel pretty as you free that energy. It may be experienced as a low rumble that carries with it the weight and implications of Resignation, or it may burst forth unexpectedly and in disturbing ways. In either case, it is an indication that you have fallen into Resignation, which is a defense against Chaos, a defense against not being able to see clearly, and is a false form of calm. As your Resignation begins to break down, either in bursts or in more controlled release of pressure, it may take you a while to collect yourself, clear the air, and return to Tranquility. Tranquility is confident serenity, and the capacity to adapt and adjust perceptions as a means to remain calm, truly calm, as a means to see clearly. The higher patterns may not be clear, but the more immediate patterns are addressed and navigated as a vital part of helping contribute to the higher patterns. As your own Higher Moving Energy comes out as controlled or unleashed Chaos to clear up Resignation, it is clearing a path to Beauty and Tranquility, to Resonance and calm, and because it is still a Moving Center, it will require effort. It will not happen on its own. The force will not carry you. You must make the effort to take the reigns of your energy and perceptions back into your own hands. This same energy can be seen in the world around you as controlled or unleashed chaos breaks through from the various large pockets of defeat from resignation and the work of clearing paths to resonance, beauty, and calm continues. For some areas of the world, or in some groups of population, or by some fragments in power where there is a refusal to rise beyond the negative poles, this will likely come out as a means to impose and enforce resignation upon others. Imposed resignation rarely goes well, and even for those who have moved into Tranquility, the pain of this will likely be obvious in the world. Tranquility will be difficult to sustain, and the sense of resonance very difficult to feel with “the world,” but keep in mind that Tranquility, Resonance, and Beauty, do not equate magical solutions, do not equate easy or guaranteed happiness. In fact, as is true of all positive poles, Tranquility and Beauty means allowing room for the chaos and the ugly. It does not go away just because you know there is more than that. It does not get solved by higher or clearer perceptions. The positive poles here only mean that you now own your power of choice, your power of navigation, your power of actions, reactions, and perceptions, and you do what you can, when you can, and how you can, and you know when you cannot. STUBBORNNESS and GREED make an early entrance of emphasis this year, as well, bringing into September a launch into even greater actions reflecting the fear of Change and Not Having Enough. For our students, we can only suggest that you monitor yourself and each other in loving ways that help you to notice if you are resisting or rejecting change, and/or if you are acting out in ways that express your sense of lack and unfulfilled needs. For most older souls, Stubbornness does not show up in the more obvious ways that resist change, but in ways that are far subtler. The older soul navigating Stubbornness will reflect this by being entrenched in the past, entrenched in personal experience, and in ways that refuse to grow beyond what he or she has deemed true about the self, about another, or about the world. They feel their experience trumps the experience of others, and speak in conclusive ways. Another way that the older soul navigates Stubbornness is by rejecting or condemning any challenge or interruption to their idea of peace, condemns or rejects any turbulence or difficulty, and finds it difficult to function amid sudden changes, chaotic differences, and discomfort of any kind. The older soul in Stubbornness will tend to presume that sustained comfort is the only answer or path, and that any challenge to that sustained comfort is a threat. For most older souls, Greed does not show up in the more obvious ways that are about lack in material ways, though it can show up that way, but it most often shows up in ways that are far subtler. Regardless of Soul Age, Greed is a fear of lack, or not having enough, and it becomes fixated on that lack. For most older souls, that lack tends to be in more emotional and intellectual realms, such as intimacy, intelligence, relationships, socializing, real communication, kindness, understanding, patience, etc. This means the older soul becomes fixated on whatever that lack is and loses all capacity to see or feel beyond that lack, and this prompts desperation, overreaction, high sensitivity, defense, entitlement and passive or active demand to have that lack satisfied, or at the very least, acknowledged. As Stubbornness and Greed creep into emphasis among our students, it will be important to consider your rigid reactions, your entrenchment in your past and your conclusive truths, and your sense of entitlement and expectations of others to make up for your lack. These Chief Features are rare in the Overleaves of our students, but they are ancient to you in the use of them across lifetimes and Personalities, so as these come up “in the air” of September through December, there may be an artful insidiousness that will require a close and compassionate eye. This same energy of Chief Features has moved into emphasis in the world, as well, but in the more classic and obvious ways. Stubbornness will show up as refusal to change, refusal to grow, refusal to be inconvenienced and bothered, while Greed will show up as panicked fears and defenses of resources, hoarding, closing off borders, villainizing those with whom one does not wish to share, etc. We will address these Chief Features more as they become further emphasized in October through December. DATES OF INTEREST: September 03 - 06 -- ENERGY SHIFT - WAKING UP - For many of our students, this energy shift may show up as a shaking off of sleep, of exhaustion, of vague weight and heavy energy, and a freeing up of the Higher Moving Energy that has more potential for Resonance. Dissonance is clarified as utterly unappealing, and efforts to nurture resonance and beauty may become the emphasis, and may be easier to do so. September 14 -- NEXUS - CONVERGENCE - A merging of Parallels for many who have had parts of themselves exploring isolation, separation, and lack of intimacy and community. A shift in awareness and a heightened effort toward nurturing and sustaining common ground, intimacy, and resonance. This is not just in terms of our students, but a shift that relates to issues of immigration, borders, and equality, as well. HELPFUL THOUGHTS OVER SEPTEMBER: BEAUTY IS NOT ALWAYS PRETTY - Beauty is not inherently pretty, nor is there a standard for it. Beauty is a means of making sense of chaos, and this means that even chaos can be beautiful. That is the nature of Beauty. It includes the Chaos. It does not exclude it. It does not condemn it. CHAOS IS NOT ALWAYS UGLY - Chaos is not inherently ugly. It is a churning of energy, and shifting and changing, and a rearranging of energy, and while this can be difficult to navigate, it is not inherently ugly. The raging rapids of a river are no uglier or more beautiful than the stillness of a lake. They are connected, and both require different ways to navigate, but both have their value, benefit, and methods of movement. You cannot control the depths of stillness and you cannot control the rapids, but you can learn how to navigate these, and the rewards for both are beautiful.

    Energy Report: AUGUST 2015

ENERGY REPORT August 2015 2015 OVERLEAVES ROLE: Scholar (emphasized all year) CENTER: H. Moving (default to Moving) (emphasized all year) GOAL: Submission (emphasized Jan - Mar) MODE: Caution (emphasized Apr - Jun) ATTITUDE: Stoic (emphasized Jul - Sep) CHIEF FEATURES: Stubbornness/Greed (emphasized Oct - Dec) AUGUST moves into the shift between the Negative Pole of Stoic and toward the potential of the Positive Pole, a precarious shift between Resignation and Tranquility. We say “precarious” because that shift away from Resignation may tend to come only after you “hit rock bottom,” or when you have exhausted your capacity to make excuses for yourself, for justifying your lack of effort, or your repetitive, fruitless efforts. For some, this may mean remaining trapped in Resignation, but for others, it means prompting a complete overhaul in Attitude, a shift toward an awakening in how your inner fuel is used. “Feelings” are not just emotional, not just of the body, but intellectual, as well. Feelings begin with thoughts, are reinforced by emotions, and then are felt in the body. This is part of why we have always said that the Attitude is key to the relief from your Chief Features. If you can change your Attitude, you can change everything. In other words, if you can change your thoughts (intellectual/attitude), you change how you see things and relate (emotions/mode), which can change what you do and how you feel (moving/goal). How you feel about a person, about life, about plans, about the future, the past, about anything is an indication of how you use your Attitude. Your “feelings” are not information. They are byproducts. They are results. This is not to say that feelings are not helpful, but we know that many of our students have been taught to “trust their feelings,” which can often translate into “what I have decided is true must be true.” We have said this before, and will say it again here: FEELINGS ARE NEVER THE TRUTH. Feelings are how you feel about the truth. Feelings are how you react to the truth. Feelings are how you navigate the truth. Feelings tell you how you feel. Feelings tell you the story of you in relation to the truth. Nothing else. To a great extent, then, feelings can be very helpful, but only when they are understood as YOUR STORY, NOT THE TRUTH. This is why it is important to trust your feelings. Because you benefit from learning your story. You benefit from understanding your story. You benefit from seeing the results of your processes and navigation of thoughts, emotions, and actions. But when you let feelings stand as indications of the truth, of fact, of any reality beyond you, then you fall prey to the negative poles of you that then trigger your Chief Features. Again, your feelings are beneficial and there for a reason. They show you the sum of your thoughts, emotions, and actions/reactions. But they are not the truth. If this is difficult to understand, consider these scenarios: A mother discovers that her child is gay. Her child “comes out” and frees himself from the fears imposed by society. She is devastated. She feels her son has betrayed her. She feels he has condemned her life, and his. Is this true? Has his choice caused all of these things? No. Of course, not. These feelings are merely the reflection of her story. Not the truth, and nothing to do with her son’s choices. It is how she feels about the truth, but her feelings are not the truth. Her feelings are as valid as anyone’s, but they are hers. A son “comes out” as gay, and his mother is devastated. She rejects him. She decides that she cannot accept him. He loses his mother. He feels the loss, the pain, and the sadness of all of this. Are his feelings fair? Do these feelings seem more justified than his mother’s? Of course they seem to be, but they are not. They are of the same stuff. They are his feelings about the truth, but they are not the truth. In other words, his feelings are a result of processing his mother’s choices, but they are not the truth about his worth, his value, his choice. His feelings are no indication of what he should or should not have done. They are his story. They are valid. Years later, the mother has a change of heart, an awakening, a realization, and embraces her son. He accepts this reunion and is relieved. Both are truly happy. Both feel happy, closer than ever, and inspired. Are these feelings the truth? No more than the pain of disappointment and shock. No more than the pain of rejection. “Good” feelings are still just your story. They are how you feel about the truth. They are never the truth. When the mother rejected the child, the truth was that he was gay. It was nothing more than that. When the son felt the pain and lost in the rejection, the truth was that his mother did not have the capacity to comprehend a truth. When both were elated with joy at their reunion, the feelings were about the truth of that reunion. The reunion was the truth, but how they felt about that was still their own stories. In each of the scenarios above, the truths can remain the same, and the feelings have been completely different. No feelings would have changed the truths. Feelings would have only told each about their part in the story. However, it is important to note: the more negative and restricted a feeling, the more it indicates that you have either rejected the truth, wish to change the truth, or do not understand the truth. Negative feelings are not bad. If you feel bad, you have rejected the truth, wish to change the truth, or do not have the whole truth. On the other side of this, if you feel good, you have accepted a truth, or some part of the truth, embrace that truth, or some part of it, and have a greater understanding of the truth, or some great part of it. And this brings us back to the Attitude of this year. The shift away from Resignation and toward Tranquility can only come with an acceptance of some truth, or some next part of a truth, can only come with the embrace of a truth, or some greater part of a truth, can only come as you gain a better understanding of the truth. What “the truth” is can be tricky to separate out from your feelings, but it is there, and it is often very simple. The truth is never very complicated. The truth can be complex, but not complicated. There is a difference. For many of our students, then, August is a month of picking through the rubble and jumble of feelings to find the simple truth, and begin the process of differentiating one’s story from the truth, of differentiating one’s feelings from the truth, so that the acceptance, change, and understanding can come, bringing with it the Tranquility. DATES OF INTEREST: August 7 - 11 -- ENERGY SHIFT - ACUTE FOCUS - For many of our students, this energy shift brings with it a highly-focused and intense look at something relevant to each. It looks as if it is a window where something that requires this kind of focus is allowed to have that focus, or the demand for that focus is high. August 14 -- NEXUS - CONVERGENCE - A set of “straggling” parallels appear to be on their way to returning to “this” parallel. These appear to be versions of you that “gave up” at one point, and stopped trying because of some hardships, obstacles, or struggles. Those parallels have gained momentum in healing and effort, and are merging into “this” parallel. The collective momentum may begin to be felt as your own effort, enthusiasm, and energy amplify. HELPFUL THOUGHTS OVER AUGUST: YOUR STORY IS YOUR STORY - Your feelings are not the truth. Your story is not the truth. It is your unique and wonderful and painful and terrifying interpretation of the truth. Listen to your story, but know that you are writing it. You can change your story. The story is yours. THE TRUTH IS SIMPLE - No matter how complicated your feelings, no matter how complicated your story, no matter how wonderful or painful your feelings, the truth that is involved is simple. If you are looking for the truth around which you tell your story, look for it in its simplicity.

    Energy Report: JULY 2015

ENERGY REPORT July 2015 2015 OVERLEAVES ROLE: Scholar (emphasized all year) CENTER: H. Moving (default to Moving) (emphasized all year) GOAL: Submission (emphasized Jan - Mar) MODE: Caution (emphasized Apr - Jun) ATTITUDE: Stoic (emphasized Jul - Sep) CHIEF FEATURES: Stubbornness/Greed (emphasized Oct - Dec) JULY brings with it a shift into the Stoic Attitude. After months of tension from the emphasis on Caution Mode, this shift into Stoic may hit our students fairly hard and with some amount of confusion. The tension of the previous few months could be said to have been the tension between the poles of Caution showing up in the world as Deliberate or Phobic. It would seem “the world” was in a strange dance between those poles, and this showed up in ways that uncovered phobias and activated deliberate intentions. Great highs and shocking lows. All leading to a kind of drop off into Stoicism of July. The Stoic energy of July through September will likely start out from the negative pole of Resignation and slowly shift more toward the Tranquility that allows for more clarity and peace in perceptions. Caution is a Mode, so it was all about relationships and how they dance between being intentional and deliberate and how they expose or showcase your phobias. Stoic is an Attitude, so the emphasis shifts back away from how others are relating to others, or how you relate to others, and moves toward how you INTERPRET your experiences. This means that this shift is going to bring up the areas of your personal philosophy where you have resigned, given up, stopped trying, or have reached a block in understanding and perception that you find has never or barely changed. So the beginning of July may help you to see where you have resigned and given up, and even see these showcased in terms of areas you have forgotten or thought you were well beyond. It is Good Work to allow for this period of time to let you see IF and WHERE you no longer try, but are now willing to revisit. For some, this bounce into Stoicism and its Resignation may show up as a kind of reigniting of vigor and vitality for making a difference in areas you have long ignored or justified as being too daunting to take on. Resignation is simply not acceptable or an option. For those who find they are passing through Resignation and having difficulty moving through it, we can say two things: IT WILL PASS, so there is no need to be overly concerned, but also IT IS INFORMATIVE, so pay attention and decide if you are willing to do something differently to help change this area of your philosophy that interprets the world as less than it is, as diminished and gray, or blindingly frustrating, or exhausting and too difficult. That is not the truth about life. All of these things are PART of the truth, but they are not the truth. For those who find they are immediately prompted by Resignation to make a change, do something, focus, make a plan, etc, then we can only say that this is a meaningful and useful time for making that shift. Whether making this shift begrudgingly, or making this shift with enthusiasm, the effort matters. As August approaches and moves into September, the payoff and rewards may far exceed your expectations, if you are willing to move beyond Resignation. DATES OF INTEREST: July 5 - 10 -- ENERGY SHIFT - DEFLATION - Nearly all of our students may experience some form of deflation over this period of time. By “deflation” we mean a drop in clarity, enthusiasm, a blow to expectations, a foggy wave of confusion, vague sense of mourning, grief, or sadness. At best this energy shift is simply tiring, but at worst, it is disconcerting and may seem to mean more than it does. In the end, it is simply a dip in the collective energy as individuals refocus and recalibrate before the Nexus. This deflation comes, not only because of the Stoic energy, but because of the great amount of effort that went into shifting a great branch of parallels toward equality and inclusion, away from the momentum of more warring and oppression. July 20 - 23 -- NEXUS - CONVERGENCE - The recent divergence in June separated out the parallels where equality and inclusion are in full swing of resistance while war and oppression take on more momentum. “This” parallel is now fully committed to explorations of evolution in equality, inclusion, and compassion. This July Nexus appears to be a matter of bringing in all parallels where that momentum of compassion, empathy, inclusion, and equality are already in force, helping to secure an even wider array of exploration and evolution in that regard. HELPFUL THOUGHTS OVER JULY: YOU ARE TIRED FROM BEING ASLEEP - Very few people “pop out” of sleep with bright eyes of wonder and awe. Most awaken from a sleep, particularly a deeper sleep, with grogginess, foggy eyes, and even a bit of a bad mood. As the Stoic Attitude shows up to point to where you have resigned in your perceptions, you may find that your mood goes bad, you feel irritable and agitated. This may be because you are waking up. And it has been a long sleep. Take your time, but if you choose to stay awake, there is work to do. WHAT I WANT IS NOT ALWAYS WHAT I WANT - Often what one thinks and feels one wants is only a small fraction of the truth of what one really wants, or it is symbolic of what one wants. July may bring with it some amount of emphasis on your exploring the distance between what you want and yourself. You may have to look hard and steady your focus, but you may find that if you are facing disappointments, defeat, or distance between you and what you want, then either you were not clear about what you wanted in the first place, or you thought you wanted something that only symbolizes something deeper that you want (and can be found in better places/ways), or you did not know that you wanted something different from what you had become familiar with wanting. We suggest the previous sentence be read carefully. In the end, it is often important to look at disappointments as invitations to look deeper, see differently, and sometimes to look closer to home (such as within) for what it is you look for outside of yourself in the symbols, people, and things you think you want. This is not to suggest that you should stop wanting, or that what you want is not what you want, but that there is always a bit more to the picture, and when one is disappointed, resigned, or angry in the distance between the self and what one wants, there is usually information there about what you really want.

    Energy Report: JUNE 2015

ENERGY REPORT June 2015 2015 OVERLEAVES ROLE: Scholar (emphasized all year) CENTER: H. Moving (default to Moving) (emphasized all year) GOAL: Submission (emphasized Jan - Mar) MODE: Caution (emphasized Apr - Jun) ATTITUDE: Stoic (emphasized Jul - Sep) CHIEF FEATURES: Stubbornness/Greed (emphasized Oct - Dec) JUNE finally brings a bit of relief from the emphasis on the Mode of Caution. (see previous reports for elaboration). This relief is only in terms of emphasis, not in effect. The divide between Deliberation and Phobia will remain throughout the year in some obvious forms, particularly in bursts and outbursts. The calm may arise from the slow transition of emphasis into the Stoic Attitude of the year as the month progresses. While June winds down the emphasis on Caution, the shift of emphasis begins early on Stoic. The Stoic energy is that of calm, and being free from disturbances and distractions. We will elaborate further in the months ahead, but we feel it is not too early to point on the methods by which that calm is brought into focus. Calm can be brought in by trauma or understanding. When the calm is brought in by understanding and non-attachment, this is the Positive Pole of Tranquility. When the calm is brought in because of trauma and sudden shock, this is the Negative Pole of Resignation. As June moves closer to July, and then further into August and September, this calming will grow either in terms of resignation from shock and trauma, or from continued efforts for understanding and non-attachment. For our students, June is likely a bit of relief and rest, but whether this comes from shock that clears the life of all other forms of distractions or from understanding that frees one from attachments that are carried like burdens is still to be seen. You cannot control when or if shock comes to the life, but you can control whether it is met with Tranquility/Understanding or remains in Resignation. Weather, geological events, and climate appear to continue to draw attention over June, with potential for any of these to be forces of shock. More purging of corruption, direct addressing of abuse of power, and remedies against the harm caused by lack of ethics continues to rise in awareness. When such events as the above grow in view, it can seem as if “everything is falling apart,” but it is part of the grand shift into Mature Soul paradigm that cannot happen before the issues of inequality, apathy, corruption, and lack of ethics is profoundly purged. Otherwise, positions of power and leadership continue to lack appeal for the Mature and Old as a means to help bring beneficial and healing change. Most Mature Souls who have these positions currently are those with a strong capacity for continuing to play by Young Soul rules and fears. The next wave of Mature and Old Souls who move into positions of leadership and power are highly likely to be the Mature and Old Souls who know how to authentically include the younger souls, but refuse to accommodate their fears and rules. DATES OF INTEREST: June 9, 11, 19, 23 -- ENERGY SHIFT - SURPRISES - Though we offer specific dates, we cannot state that these are exact. We can really only say that June is “full of surprises” that are like spikes of energy that prompt the beginning waves of Stoicism, through shock or understanding. June 20 - 23 -- NEXUS - DIVERGENCE - A branching of parallels based from reactions to potential “surprises” throughout the month. HELPFUL THOUGHTS OVER JUNE: THE UNEXPECTED IS TO BE EXPECTED - One can only do so much to control the flow of events in one’s life, the lives of others, and the world. There will always be as much that you cannot control as there is that you can control. Sometimes the balance is clearly in one direction or the other, but all of this is to be expected because that is the nature of the dance with life. If you move about your days fearing the unexpected, then your reaction may tend to be rigid and breakable. If you go about your days knowing that the unexpected is built into the fabric of your existence, then when it comes to you, there can tend to be clarity, flexibility, and insight. IT IS NEVER THE END - Whether a surprise comes as a shock or as insight, it can often seem to include with it a sense of conclusion. It never is. There are rarely such things as conclusions in the evolution of a life or a soul. You can reach a plateau or you can get knocked for a loop, but no matter what happens, it is never the end. There is more. There is always more. The more you grasp this truth, the more you can help create what that “more” is.
  8. Michael Speaks, October 28, 2012 Open Floor Questions 12:41 PM 10/28/2012 [tkmppi] As the votes in municipal elections are just being counted, I'd like to hear a short comment from Michael on the populist party Perussuomalaiset (”The Finns”), with candidates of foreign background as well as those opposed to immigration, which appears to be the only winning party in these elections, although not as many votes as it got in the parliamentary elections last year [MEntity] We will offer a short comment: This Party appears to be comprised of early Mature souls who are working to clarify what they deem is an optimal balance between the social and economic contexts. If it were put into terms familiar to our teaching, it might be described as the "self-karmic" Party, with those feeling resonance with it working through internal conflicts that go hand in hand with evolving consciousness that also wants to retain familiarities. This is just a short comment with no emphasis or direction, so if you would like for us to clarify, or if you do not find this valid or relevant, you may say so, if you choose. [tkmppi] It's relevant, and clarifies my own feelings about the party. [Ingun] Could you share some of the overleaves or any comments on what Anders Behring Breivik did, the perpetrator of the 2011 attacks here in Norway. [MEntity] This appears to be an early Young Priest in the Negative Poles who could not fathom a direction of a world away from his own ideals, which appear to have been imprinted heavily and never questioned. It goes beyond this, in that it was not about the world moving in a direction away from his own ideals, but about removing those who represented that move away from the ideals. When one has deemed oneself a keeper of an ideal that does not allow for variations or inclusion of differences, it can lead to delusional violence that range between the acts of this Priest to political maneuvers to enact oppressive laws. With a Goal of Submission, Mode of Passion, Attitude of Idealism, and Chief Features of Impatience and Martyrdom, all of which were in the Negative Poles, were used to funnel a violent assault that was consciously chosen with conviction and with a sense of justification. [Maureen] Michael – you said: “Every Entity 5 is themed in Expansion vs Adventure, and in this case, this Entity is scattered across the planet, constantly moving, with not too many fragments from that entity getting too close together.” Considering we are usually spread out around the world, I know of 7 C1E5s (including me) living in Toronto. I feel like we are starting to gather together for some reason as many of us have had first contact or have gotten back in touch in the last 2 years. Is this a high number for one location or is this just a “coincidence”? One thing of note -- we do have different levels of contact with each other (i.e. I've never met one of the other Entity 5 members, in person). [MEntity] Maureen, many entity members who can, will manage to cross paths in some way, or be brought to the awareness of, the 7th Level Old who may or may not return. This is not unusual, and it is one of the "fun things" that is attempted for one who is 7th Level Old. Especially if that entity has been themed in keeping intimacy across time and space barriers throughout lifetimes. [Maureen] Thank you! [MEntity] That is not the only reason, of course, because these fragments have lives that are being shaped by their own choices, but it is part of the consideration. And though this entity can tend to be scattered, as the entity members age in Soul Age, the gravity of the reunion begins to become priority. [Diane_HB] When people are regressed into the Theta state, they remember their time between lives and the procedures that they go through to reincarnate. They talk about taking a certain amount of energy to earth -- between 35% to 75%. Why do people under hypnosis experience themselves as choosing new lives and not Essence making new fragments? [MEntity] When the regression is valid, there is little differentiation between the Personality and Essence, much in the same way that one might begin to live when Manifesting Essence. The "I" is Essence. The Essence includes the current Personality. The differentiation is moot. In those descriptions of quantifiable "energy," it may be a description of the Instinctive Center being carried forward after Review, or the uploading of the relevant data, so to speak. Beyond that, the perception would, naturally, TEND to be from the perspective of the current Personality, regardless of how deep the state. [Diane_HB] I thought uploading of data is from personality to essence, whereas the Michael Newton books talk about "bringing down energy" in terms of the "soul" using a percentage of its energy to incarnate. [MEntity] Both would be true. Data can be "uploaded" from Personality, especially while still incarnated, but is often still in charge of that work during Review, after a lifetime. This is, basically, a dumping of all data relative to the Chakras used by that Personality. The Instinctive Center, sans those extensions that were the Chakras for that lifetime, is then moved into another life and Personality, which will then extract and build its own relative Chakra system. Imagine the Instinctive Center as a kind of Annual Plant that always returns with new growth, but always from the same starting point. In terms of incarnation, that plant grows faster and stronger in each successive life, if you will. Every incarnation takes a certain amount of energy, and each lifetime comes with a certain amount built in from which to then build from, either with or without Essence. That allotted energy tends to be relative to the amount of data extracted from the Instinctive Center from the previous life and Personality, if we are going to describe this in a linear way. For example, if 75% of the Instinctive Center was usable data that was completion of Monads, Karma, etc, or as data that must be returned to in much later incarnations, then when the incarnation is set up, it might be said to have been sent with "75%" energy. That would be because 25% of the Instinctive Center is being carried forward, with 75% of new Essence energy for new experiences, plans, momentum, etc. [Diane_HB] Would somebody with "75%" energy *feel* more energetic than someone with "35%" energy? [MEntity] It is not that it is 75% of Essence, but rather a description of that which is refreshed in the Instinctive Center. For instance, those who are in the 6th Level of a Soul Age tend to have carried over a rather full Instinctive Center, whereas those in the 5th Levels tend to have a higher percentage of new space in their Instinctive Center. Again, this is a crude and limited description, but it is valid enough for beginning to understand. The amount of "new energy" versus carry-over of Instinctive data has no bearing on the feeling of "energy" of a lifetime, because everyone responds to either of these extremes in different ways. For example, there are those on the 6th Level with "jammed-packed" Instinctive Centers carried over so that as much Karma (both internally and externally) can be addressed as possible, and some will feel the weight of this and feel the pull below the water, while others keep their heads above water and gain a kind of optimistic strength, even as they tread the exhausting waters of that life. The feelings of "energetic" are shaped by choices, health, priorities, diet, geography, projects, etc. not by past lives or energy dynamics of Essence or Instinctive Center. [ClaireC] Hello, Michael. We touched on Dementia at last Wednesday's POF. Since this is such a difficult Choice to understand and knowing that a lot depends on the individuals' soul ages, can you elaborate more on this in view of our aging Baby-Boomer population and the dismal statistics facing us? Is there a large physical component too? [MEntity] Though we tend to emphasize the more metaphysical components of an ailment, disease, or injury, there are basic physical factors that are involved that matter. We can expound upon the metaphysical matters that are behind a person who is hit by a bus, but the fact that will remain that anyone hit by a bus is probably going to get injured, or die. A bus is a large object that, when hurdling through space toward a softer object, may tend toward devastating results. And so it is with the Human body: as it moves through time and space, it does not regenerate and renew in ways that enable it to live "forever," but as the time frame for life expands, so does the body begin to house a brain with diminishing capacities for functioning as it used to function. For many fragments, however, this is not as ugly an experience as it would seem to be, anymore than birth is an ugly experience. The developing brain in a "useless" body is no different than a diminishing brain in a "useless" body. The return to an infantile state can be greatly liberating to a Personality who may have repressed a great deal over the lifetime. The development of some form of Dementia tends to be relative to the level of repression that may have been involved in the life, relative to the denial of dependency, relative to the insistence on control, and so many other factors. It is as diverse in "reason for having" as any other condition. But we can say that diet contributes greatly to the eventual condition. [ClaireC] I thought so. Thank you. [Martha] Yesterday I met Damien Echols and his wife Lorri Davis, and read Damien's very priest-y book about his spiritual journey while on death row for nearly 20 years in brutal conditions. Their story seems full of major karma, monads, and the makings of an epic tale. His focus on staying an awake and growing spiritual person, while surrounded by what sounds like much younger souls and/or those who never progressed through even the earliest internal monads, is very inspiring. He's had some truly amazing support as well from lots of people. I know some of their story may still be private due to ongoing karma, but can you share something about what all is going on here? He and the rest of the West Memphis 3 were recently released but not exonerated. I think Arkansas does not want to admit how badly they fucked up. [MEntity] This is an example of a Server and how one lifetime can be the equivalent of 30 for other fragments. This is a cluster of "classic" Monads come to full completion (or near completion) in one lifetime for the fragments involved: Attacker/Victim; Healer/Healed; Rescuer/Rescued; Dependent/Independent; Pivotal Facilitator, Facilitated; Passive/Aggressive; Artist/Patron; Deserter/Abandoned; Defender/Defended; Player/Pawn; Hidden/Disclosed; Slander/Slandered; Jailer/Prisoner; Tandem Monads. [AnnH] jesus [Martha] holy shit [MEntity] The "priest-y" qualities may come from the Sage Casting and imprinting from his culture, and contribute to his efforts to turn this experience into a teaching. [Martha] is he a Michael student? [Martha] not this life, but in general? [MEntity] Yes, he is. He is from Cadre 11. [Martha] I had a recognition hit with him and his wife [MEntity] Your Cadre 11. This is not to say that this was planned or imposed upon the Personality, but that once there was a situation that presented itself as being optimal for "making the best of it," these Monads were pulled in over time. [Janet] My attitude is Stoic and I have found little documentation -- only generalities -- as to what this attitude entails. (For example: “sees life as if they have seen it all before”.) Most of the references to Stoic that I've found are in association with those who are Spiritualist and need to use the positive pole of Stoic to get out of negative pole of Spiritualist. For the benefit of all of us Stoics, can you perhaps provide little more info about this attitude? Are there identifiable degrees between the positive and negative poles? [MEntity] Janet, the Stoic is one who interprets life in terms of behavior and character vs claims and descriptions. Character and behavior must take priority over other facets of interpretation. For instance, it will not matter what one says, but what one does, who one IS. The Stoic explores the world of ethics as sustained and nurtured through self-management, self-awareness, self-control. This realm of ethic evolves from being standardized in the younger Soul Ages to being highly individualized by the Old Soul Age, with nuances granted. We have described the Stoic as "one who sees the world as if it has been seen before" because the Stoic uses one's "nature" as the defining force against which to measure ethics and authenticity. This nature is a constant, even if individualized. In short, the older Soul Stoic might simply see the world in terms of how true one is to oneself. And "oneself" is one's nature, and this is fairly constant, if not completely constant. It can be built upon, evolved, expanded, destroyed, crippled, wounded, but it is a constant that is fairly easy to discern by the Stoic. The Stoic interprets life with a spectrum of understanding that one's nature is naturally limiting, that one's environment is naturally constricting, that one's upbringing has its effects, and so on, and that all of these things contribute to the character and behavior of a person in a way that is somewhat deterministic. That a person is the way he is because that is what he has to work with. [Janet] I assume the Stoic applies this yardstick both to herself and to others. [MEntity] In the Positive Pole, Tranquility, the Stoic is not disappointed, not disoriented, and not reactionary to the ups and downs of life, or the behavior and choices of others. This Stoic does not see these as "good" or "bad" things, but as symptoms of the nature of someone or something. This Stoic works with that. As this is an Ordinal, Inspirational Attitude, it can see itself in anyone around, as Inspiration is merely reflection of potential used for benefit. The Negative Pole Stoic has moved into Resignation and no longer bothers with the nuances and potential, but determines that everyone is the same, or potentially the same, and that there is no use or hope in seeing anything differently. And, yes, this is both internal and external, Janet. None of this is to say that a Stoic is not expressive or that she does not wish for more, have opinions, experience expectations, because there are several elements at play in a Personality, but the older Stoic in the Positive Pole WILL tend to aim for that recognition of the nature of a person or situation over the expectations and demands of that person or situation, while the older Stoic in the Negative Pole will tend to dismiss any effort to consider beyond a conclusion drawn. Do you relate? [Janet] Yes. Very much so. [jesuislulu] Hello Michael, I felt the recent divergence quite viscerally. Feeling like I had begun walking away from this city and overall almost all aspects of political polarization. I would like you to elaborate on what the effects were regarding the current crossroads we are finding ourselves with such a polarized political situation. I have been living in a highly republican state feeling a fish out of water and am going tomorrow for a job interview in yet another state with a similar political climate. I was asked the other day what would be any different. Could you speak to the overall energetics of the Wilmington NC area? [MEntity] All Old Souls are going to experience the "fish out of water" experience to some degree in a world that currently hosts only a maximum of 10% of an Old Soul perspective (mostly found in science fiction and non-religious metaphysical circles), no matter where one lives. This will probably not change in your lifetimes. One of the challenges of an Old Soul is how to balance the higher perspective of life that works for the Old Soul, while teaching it, which is inherently a part of every Old Soul to do in some way. So the matter is not so much about what the rest of the world, or state, or county, or province, or city or town is doing or believing or practicing, but how you go about teaching what you want to teach. [jesuislulu] ok I get this [MEntity] Some of the truths learned by Old Souls is that their perspective (teaching) cannot be imposed, cannot be forced, and cannot be immediately understood or accepted. [jesuislulu] hence the fish outta water [MEntity] And that the teaching must come naturally, not from reaction, urgency, or manipulation. By "naturally," we mean that it is born of example, conversation, encouragement, education, etc. And most importantly: that not everyone wants to, or can, understand or learn your teaching. Yet. If an Old Soul is in a body, he or she is teaching. It is not something that is necessary to organize or focus. It is quite difficult for most Old Souls NOT to live their own teachings, and this is their most consistent means of teaching. However, some of the Old Souls' most difficult and challenging teachings is to move beyond the focus of how others are failing, and to continue learning, themselves. The Old Soul who is distracted with the failings of others has stopped learning. Not literally, but figuratively, in many ways. All of this is barring the conditions of someone, or a group, somehow interfering with, or removing, your capacity for choice, or your Rights within that shared paradigm. In that case, it is no longer a matter of teaching, then, but a matter of putting into effect everything relevant that you have learned, as best you can. You may not change the city, but you do not have to diminish your value as a person for the sake of someone else's imposed beliefs put into action. Beliefs are one thing, but when put into action that may interfere with your choice or Rights, then the choice to counter this, or not, becomes its own teaching. We are speaking in broader contexts than your city in question, of course, but this is relevant to all of our students in the world, wherever they are. The United States is quite clearly divided in its embodying of the shift from Young to Mature, with the Baby and Young on "one side" and the Mature and Old on the other. This is the most definitive we have seen it in a long time, but tends to be one of the symptoms of a paradigm shift forward, not backward. By "forward" we mean more inclusive. The more inclusive a paradigm, the more blatantly the exclusive are allowed to be. This is true of your own Personalities, as well. You can be in your Positive Poles, and still throw a tantrum, because you know you will, eventually, make the choice that is the best you can make. You can be in your Positive Poles and still worry about a job interview, because it is fair to be uncertain about the future when it is dependent upon the decision of someone else, all the while still knowing you will adapt and evolve with whatever you may encounter. The greater the inclusivity, the louder the exclusivity, both in the world, and in yourselves. Because it knows it is safe, so to speak. You are in the middle of an area that is quite unlike yourself, not for any other reason than that you have evolved to a point where this can be allowed in your world, even as you find great distaste for it. We must conclude here for tonight.
  9. Open Floor Session -- October 4, 2015 [MEntity] We are here, now. Hello to each of you. We can begin now. QUEUE IS NOW OPEN Yes, Kurtis. And hello to you. [Kurtis] Hi Michael, :). I'd like to continue as in last time with how the Stoic appears/acts in social situations. [MEntity] The Stoic shows up in social situations as fairly unflinching, unsurprised, and sometimes uninterested. The Stoic has a built-in capacity for slowing down processes so that reactions are either evaded or diminished in a way that does not betray those processes underneath the surface. In the Positive Pole, the Stoic can seem cool-headed, attentive, and informed, but without the biases and reactionary prejudices that might often dictate the perceptions and behaviors of others. In the Negative Pole, the Stoic can come across as tedious, lacking passion and interest, lacking attention, and generally difficult to communicate with. The difference between Tranquility and Resignation is fairly clear and distinct in the social situation. The Positive Pole Stoic could be described as being calmly present, whereas the negative pole may be described as defeated distraction. For the positive pole Stoic, even when there is little expression and reaction, there is an aliveness, but when the Stoic is in the negative pole, there is a draining effect that can be felt by those around her. [Kurtis] Thanks M. :) [Rachel_L] Hi Michael, can you please explain Floating Mate Agreements? You told me in a session: “When one is not sure of one's sexuality, the Agreements "float" between genders of the same Role so that one or the other may be accessible. This is not a complicated arrangement. It is actually more often the case than not, even for those with quite decided sexuality. For every Mate Agreement we tend to describe, we are often describing the potential in terms of any gender, though one will tend to stand out, depending on the momentum. We can explain how this works in further exchanges with you and our students.” [MEntity] Yes, Rachel. Agreements are non-binding, and are quite often more about the facilitating of experience than about the participants. The participants are still important, and there are some key experiences looked for with specific fragments, but, in general, Agreements are about the experience. This means that, while one may have a Mate Agreement, and even if that Mate Agreement is fairly certain with a specific fragment, that Agreement can shift from that specific fragment to another. The experience of matedness is the key here, and even if there is a preference for a specific fragment, Personality and Essence learn very quickly that life is far too random and chaotic to enforce some strict standard for fulfilling Agreements. By "chaotic and random" we mean that it is unpredictable, not that there is no awesome order to it at all. So a "floating" Mate Agreement could be understood as an experience one wishes to have, but are open to this being with whomever is best suited for the details of that Agreement. If you were to decide to experiment with sexuality, but all of your Agreements were static and locked in with a gender of no interest, it would make for quite difficult experimentation or realizations. Essence will always prefer open-ended probabilities than any static or enforced restriction. There is an irony here in that as your Essence grows older, it is capable of making better and better plans for a lifetime so that what is planned actually unfolds as planned, but as Essence becomes more adept at this skill and art, the interest in any strict planning fades. Part of the reason for this greater flexibility is because your Essence is now close to many many other fragments, so the trust is there for many to fulfill Agreements. If a Mate Agreement is sought, it is the context and experience of a Mate Agreement that matters more than whether it is with one person over another. By the time you are an older soul, for every Agreement, each has up to 12 "backups" set up across the planet or time to help ensure the fulfillment. [JanaK] Is there a correlation between complementary focused/creative energy ratios and relationship chemistry? If yes, can you briefly comment on this, please? [MEntity] Oh, yes. Those who share one higher ratio over another tend to lean toward greater common ground, common perspectives, common experiences, and depending on where one is with himself or herself, there is either a great bonding in this commonality, or there is very little charge because one or both still need to be challenged and provoked and healed. Those who are opposite in ratio can tend to find the greatest attraction, charge, and excitement for one another because of the challenges, differences, and complementing of processes, and depending on where one is with himself or herself, there is either this exciting and provocative dance, or there is never-ending conflict, combativeness, and intensity that usually requires separation from one another to fully process. This is why Task Companions tend toward similar ratios, whereas Essence Twins are exactly reversed. Keep in mind that choices, imprinting, and culture can have great influence on this inner design, so this response is a means to understand the dynamic, but we caution against drawing conclusions without experience. [JanaK] Interesting, thank you [MEntity] In other words, those who share similar ratios can still have great sex lives and excitement, and those who have reversed ratios can be profoundly intimate without sexual tension or intensity. [Maureen] Michael, I would like to know more about the effects of drugs, specifically morphine, on one's perceptions. For reference, I'll use myself as an example. Please answer in any way that is fitting for today's session's time and venue. I've been on morphine twice this year - post surgeries. Both times I experienced hallucinations. The first time it was with images of people being around me in the room or wherever I was imagining myself to be. This last time post surgery (last week) I literally “saw” words as if they had just been typed out in phrases. I was seeing full concepts or phrases of my own, and then in my mind's eye, I matched them up, or ordered them, neatly, with a perfectly corresponding concept or phrase from “the world”. This went on for 100s of patterns, each neatly repeating itself as the next concept or phrase came up. It was almost mesmerizing until I realized I was tired, and there seemed to be no end to this pattern making, and I wanted it to stop. Then I realized it was happening because of the morphine. I didn't like the feeling of being drugged and being on this weird pattern treadmill even though it felt like little "AHAs" were made each time a pattern was made evident. [MEntity] The effects of morphine, and most opiates, is one that frees the neurological processes from pain. When that effect is in place, a great range of possibilities are in place for changes in perspective, from clarity of insight to complete distortion of reality. Depending on dosage, usage, addiction, etc., the effects may move from enlightening to devastating. What each person experiences may be different, but the common denominator would be in this freeing up from neurological processes that usually manage and monitor pain. When neurological pathways are suddenly free, if you will, they can find they are processing differently or different data. What you experienced seems to us to have been a slowing down and a more conscious access to how you think and process already. Your mind races with how to make sense of things, how to find or create patterns, whether there are any inherent patterns, or not. It is a beautiful and exhausting process, and you had a chance to see how do this on levels usually too swift for conscious awareness. It is how you "know" even when you seem to have no logical reason to know, but also why you may "know" even when you are lacking in accuracy. This experience can be referenced as a way to keep from being too unquestioning in your "knowing," because some of the processes are artistic and based on habit, rather than on stringing together true insight or knowing. But it can also be referenced as a way for you to access when you do question, so that you use a similar, more conscious technique for assessment. In other words, it is Good Work to trust your knowing, and now you know how it works beneath the surface, but if you ever question it, you can invite the process back into consciousness and play with the stringing together or words to see what you get. [Maureen] Thanks, Michael. [MEntity] As for the individuals around you, these may have been more literal in that your consciousness was shifted enough to perceive the presence of actual forms around you. We can elaborate upon this in more detail with you in further exchanges. [Royce] Hey michael. so i watch iyanla a lot and her method of healing usually includes the participants' complete and total breakdown, tears on floor messiness before they can heal towards an issue they are facing. I notice i never really GET to that point with much and often fear i'm not looking deep enough because i don't reach that breaking point. If it IS a necessary stage of healing, how might one easier tap into one's hidden NERVE that opens the valve to tear wrenching truths? because I feel like i'm pretty good at being honest, but i'm not great at letting my whole body experience that honesty as much* [MEntity] Royce, you do not resist much truth. You may be slow to reflect those truths, to express those truths with confidence, but we do not see you as resisting truths. Those who resist truths tend to require breakdowns and more dramatic turning points, whereas the older soul's most "dramatic" struggle with truth is a heavy sigh and/or rolling of the eyes. The older soul Personality has to work too hard to avoid truth, and tends to find it much easier to accept it. This is not said to diminish the process, but to point out that it is different. It is okay to simply work out the truth, and then work with the truth, rather than resisting the truth to the point of breakdown. If you require a breakdown, however, you will have it. It is not something you must worry about cultivating. To aim for breakdown as a solution or a sign is an aim away from the truth. [Royce] thank you michael. that makes sense. i notice even in my grieving there isn't a lot of crying, but there is understanding. so from this I can sort of take away that that quieter grieving is not off track. thank you [PeterK] When asking about a particular person, including oneself, is it helpful to provide you with a photograph of that person? If so, why is it helpful and what qualities or characteristics of the photograph are most important? [MEntity] We cannot see you, so we do not require photos. Photographs are for the channel, not us. For some channels, the requirement of photos helps to alleviate two concerns: that there is a real person to focus on, and not just a fake name, and it helps the individual to launch into access to us via his or her own trusted intuition. Depending on the extent of the concern and the extent of the dependency upon individual intuition, access to us actually diminishes more with the use of photos. Photos, to us, are very much like names. They are convenient references, but tell us little about you other than one moment's snapshot of you. We find names useless for us, but they are important for the organization of presentation to use via the channel, and photos can be used in a similar way, as well. Names are functional and practical for our communication, but photos are solely for the channel. We will conclude here for today. Good day to each of you. Goodbye, for now.
