ENERGY REPORT JANUARY 2013 NOTE: please add in a reply any other channels' overleaves for the year REVIEW: WHAT IS AN ENERGY REPORT and "OVERLEAVES FOR THE YEAR?" Though energies shift, change, and adapt all year, there is a general energy that can be said to affect the calendar year, at least in terms of your shared reality. Our Overleaves system can be used to describe any collection of energies, ranging from the dynamics of the actual Personality to the general “mood” of a room, society, fictional character, theme of groups, or a planet’s general atmosphere of consciousness. In addition to this, when a block of time is selected, that time frame can be translated into a description of energies based on what we perceive as the momentum of events, consciousness, and choices that will POTENTIALLY contribute to that period of time. The Overleaves for a year, then, are our interpretation of those events, consciousness, and choices as we see that they are most likely to be brought to bear in your world. The more participating one is in “the world,” the more likely these energies will be of concern, though one’s inactivity does not exempt one from world or local energies, anymore than staying inside can take away the fact of a rainstorm. The rainstorm outside can have as much an effect on one inside as on one who is outside, depending on personal interpretations and experiences of that rainstorm. The very basic energy, or basic context, of a year can be described in two Overleaves: the Role and the Center. These two basic energies are those that can contribute to your year feeling "comfortable" or "challenged" during the year unfolding, depending on your own Overleaves and your method of participation in "the world." These two energies are most obvious in the first three months of a year, but their effects will remain steady throughout the year. It can be said that ALL of the Overleaves we use to describe the year are in effect ALL year, but the particular frames of time described below are the "seasonal" emphasis of those particular Overleaf qualities. General “Seasonal” Energy emphasis: The ENTIRE YEAR is based within the energies described by the ROLE and CENTERING. January through March implements and emphasizes the GOAL. April through June implements and emphasizes the MODE. July through September implements and emphasizes the ATTITUDE. October through December implements and emphasizes the CHIEF FEATURE. ************* 2013 OVERLEAVES ROLE: SAGE (emphasized all year) CENTER: INTELLECTUAL (emphasized all year) GOAL: FLOW > acceptance/discrimination (emphasized Jan - Mar) MODE: POWER (emphasized Apr - Jun) ATTITUDE: IDEALIST (emphasized Jul - Sep) CHIEF FEATURES: SELF-DESTRUCTION (emphasized Oct - Dec) *************** January opens with some amount of fallout from the Stubbornness of 2012. This has carried over so strongly that it appears to have affected even the most free from Chief Features. By this we mean that the energy turned into something more palpable than simple “psychological weather,” if you will, and appears to have manifested in the navigation of days in the body. Many who really had no part in contributing to the wave of Stubbornness of 2012 may have come to experience the launch of 2013 with strange memory lapses, confusion, clumsiness, accidents, mistakes, etc. This is because those who are open to the “energies” of the collective conscious usually count on the collective shift away from the season of Chief Features of the year before, and open widely to the possibilities generated by the move into a new year, a new cycle. The investment in Stubbornness by so many toward the end of 2012 has already “locked on” to the Self-Destruction that would tend to only be emphasized during the season of Chief Features toward the end of 2013. Because Stubbornness is at the hub of all Chief Negative Features, it “slid” to Self-destruction immediately. If you have experienced your start to 2013 as being marked by bumbling, accidents, confusion, memory lapses, sleepiness, disorientation, day dreaming, distraction, etc. you may have hooked into this anomalous, collective energy. It will pass, but understanding that it is not a sign of anything more than your openness can bring some amount of clarity. Until February comes, it may be beneficial to not take your movements and choices and habits for granted, but to bring about more presence and focus as it comes to mind. In addition to this, the year has launched into a year of Flow, or Relaxation, which tends to shift most into an expanded openness to “whatever is coming my way,” or “wherever I may be going.” There is a lack of sense of structure, at first, and this tends to emphasize any areas of the life where blockages are already inherent, but ready to shift. For example, if you started out your hear experiencing confusion, you may be ready to bring in more emphasis this year on focus and presence. If you have become clumsy, you may be heading toward more emphasis on coordination and physical exercise. If you have been exhausted or distracted, it may be that you need more access to outdoors, sunlight, and nature. Wherever you find yourself “bumping up against” things, these are messages and information about areas ready to shift with a flow that is far more aligned with you than otherwise. For those whose year has begun smoothly, this may be indicative of your making choices that have insulated you from greater influences and energies so that you could accomplish particular endeavors. The year has also shifted from an Instinctive-Centered year into an Intellectually-Centered year. Last year was a process of exploring anything and everything that was being blocked or run by choices motivated distinctly by fear or love. As you look over 2012, you may see quite clearly when you chose to listen to fear, and when you chose to listen to love. By “fear” and “love,” we mean the difference between choices for protecting and defending yourself, and choices where you took risks, trusted, followed impulses and resonance, and chose paths of pleasure and well-being. The year 2012 could be said to have been run by the navigation between hot and cold, finding the right temperature that suits you, possibly being “burned” or “frozen” along the way. That is an Instinctive year. It is a navigation based on immediate feedback. As the Intellectual year unfolds, you may find yourself returning to a sense of insight, perspective, and philosophical values on the positive end of the intellect, but possibly falling to over-thinking, reasoning, and justification in the negative pole. Many will start the year from the negative pole and move toward the positive as the year gains momentum, so it would not be surprising to us if many of our students are overwhelming the intellect with ideas, plans, goals, agendas that could prove to bring the over-thinking, reasoning, justification, and excuses as the month moves forward. It may be important to you, then, to remember that the intellect is not just for analyzing and planning, but for gaining insight into the most beneficial patterns and paths along the way. If your plans or intentions go awry, the intellect can help if you allow for insight, but if you simply resort to excuses, reasoning, and over-analysis, you may find yourself falling into Inertia, the negative pole of FLOW. With the shift into 2013 being a Sage year, we would think that many of you would, eventually, begin to emphasize play, communication, laughter, innocence, and choices that lead to sharing joy, but this may also show up as falling into drama, over-expressiveness (over intellectual, often mistaken as being “over emotional”), feeling invisible, needing to be seen, being obnoxious and throwing tantrums (internally or externally). As you move through 2013, remember that a great deal of emphasis will tend to be on how to play and have fun while learning and sharing, and this can trigger a tremendous amount of self-karma for the older souls who have resisted or refused to embrace their “inner child,” or who have felt their sense of innocence and aliveness has been lost to the past. We will speak more to this as the year unfolds. Helpful thoughts over JANUARY might be: GOING WITH THE FLOW MEANS LEARNING HOW TO PADDLE “Going with the flow,” or the Goal of Flow, does not simply mean that one must be pushed around by forces one cannot control, but that one learns to differentiate between the forces that one can control, and those forces one cannot. There will always be both, however out of proportion they may be one to the other. When one recognizes where one has no control, there will always be some amount of control from within that. As the figurative river rapids that you sometimes come across move you along in life, you can use your paddle to stay upright, to keep moving, to avoid rocks and debris. In life, this translates into using your capacity to be alert, focused, aware, in conjunction with your most powerful “paddle” in life: choice. However diminished or limited it may be in any moment, you will have it, and it can keep you moving forward, past the debris and obstacles rushing toward you, owning any choices you make from within those limitations. If you “crash,” the same applies. One can only do so much in overwhelming circumstances, but even the most seemingly insignificant of choices within that overwhelm of greater forces can make all of the difference in the world. As you learn to “paddle,” Flow comes to be an ally, and a force that is part of you, rather than over you. DATES OF INTEREST January 5-8 -- NEXUS - a Divergence generated by collective Stubbornness, with those realities more free of it to move on, and those invested in it amplifying it, particularly in politics and international events. January 27 -- this is not a prediction, but a mention of a potential astronomical phenomenon of interest.
