Ask Michael - February 7, 2016 MEntity: Hello to each of you. We are here, now. We can begin. ckaricai: Hi Michael. My question is about diabetes. I'm going to assume the metaphysical cause has to do with either anger or fear...but I'd like some insight into what would be a physical and/or metaphysical cure. whatever insight you can offer in the time alloted would be great. ckaricai: Oh, I should clarify, I mean type 2 diabetes. MEntity: There is some validity to your assessment that anger and fear can be involved, but it is more about the process by which one avoids intensity that can contribute to the condition. ckaricai: not really sure what avoids intensity means... MEntity: Whether it is feeling lonely, angry, frustrated, conflicted, challenged, fearful, unloved, etc. diabetes in its various stages usually reflects how the person processes those experiences. In most cases there is an effort to glaze over them, to mask them, to make them more acceptable and presentable, and especially if they are obstacles to attention or affection. ckaricai: oh i see MEntity: At the heart of diabetes is a need to sustain a false bridge over the depths of one's feelings so as to accommodate the need for attention or affection. By "attention" we mean any acknowledgment in any form and this might be negative. Diabetes is reversible in most cases, but does require a strict management of conscious choice, action, and diet. For most, it is "easier" to manage the masking of pain in medicinal ways than in rewiring the psyche. We can explore this in further exchanges, but this is a brief synopsis. ckaricai: thanks BrianW: Hi Michael, could you please go into more detail regarding "shadow" fragments as previously discussed with Maureen? MEntity: We used the term "shadow fragments" to describe those fragments who tend to gravitate toward you across lifetimes and help to "push your buttons" and "play the bad guy" in prompting true ownership of your own "shadow elements" that have become a pattern in avoiding. These fragments are not Karmically bound and are usually not in danger of generating Karma, but are provocative and triggering of your defenses in ways that invite self-reflection. BrianW: Do you mean "shadow elements" in the Jungian sense of the shadow self? MEntity: Anyone can play a "shadow" in your life, but there are some fragments who get very good at it and tend to not mind the risk of rejection during the life. These fragments can tend to be mathematically or harmonically dissonant to your own dynamic. This is sometimes true on an Essence level, but it is the combination of core mathematics and the correlative mathematics of the Overleaves that can bring about this dissonance, particularly when the Negative Poles are in favor. In other words, if your life is being lived in a kind of chord or note and pace, and you come across another who is dissonant to this, you can tend to prompt one another's shadow elements and play each other's shadow fragments. BrianW: I see MEntity: To explore this concept further, it could be helpful to study consonance and dissonance in music to see how these work in musical terms, since it is not much different. Some fragments lean quite strongly toward dissonance and enjoy it and embrace it with a kind of surrender, while others fight against it at all costs. There will rarely be a life without shadow fragments and dissonance. Learning to appreciate this unexpected form of music and relationship in life can bring great breakthroughs. And, yes, there is relevance to the Jungian concepts. Shadow Elements as used by us refers to those emotions that are based in stories told to the self, imprinting, and any defensive or reactionary state that is not based in valid events. True Emotions are those that are reflecting the processes of consequences and effects. A Shadow Element is a dominant emotion that "runs things" even as it is unrelated to actual events. For example, if someone is nice to you and your Shadow Element is Shame, you might immediately wonder what hidden agenda that person has in liking you, since Shame is running things. We can elaborate on the range of Shadow Elements and how Shadow Fragments work in a life in a dedicated session with us. Maureen: Michael, I am interested in your take on a sociological model that would best describe and or explain the rise and the fall or the general movement of change. The model would not place people into categories but place beliefs into clusters that match certain demographics. If we had a model from you it might be easier to talk about the movement of power and the movement of change, etc. within our world. To give you an example of what I mean, this is what I said in a recent posting on TLE. I see Hillary (and Obama for that matter) as someone who works INSIDE the system to create change and people like Bernie, Trump, etc. work OUTSIDE the system for change. It's just a different perspective or method to how change comes about. Working outside the system is radical or revolutionary and seemingly faster, although dealing with the breakdown of systems or a system often comes with a very painful growth period - for many. Working within the system to create change is more subtle, evolutionary and seemingly slower but there is less collateral damage to deal with as fewer people get hurt or "trampled" in the process. Both methods of change are useful and can be seen through many different historical contexts. I don't think either is right or wrong they are just different. This may end up being a topic length answer so if you have more material than we have time for today an outline would be great. Thanks. MEntity: Because of the breadth and depth of this topic, we can only share a brief outline today, but encourage further exploration. If we understand your question and premise correctly, we can describe the various forms of Change within a society to be as follows: NURTURING CHANGE, with positive pole of Progressive and negative pole of Safe. RADICAL CHANGE with positive pole of Overhaul and negative pole of Collapse. PERSUASIVE CHANGE with positive pole of Invisible and negative pole of Deceitful. REMOTE CHANGE with positive pole of Unaffected and negative pole of Apathetic. REVOLUTIONARY CHANGE with positive pole of Renewal and negative pole of Rebellion. REPRESSED CHANGE - slow/regressive, and REQUIRED CHANGE - Responsible/Resistant (painful). These do correlate to the Roles, and are in order of Server, Artisan, Warrior, Scholar, Sage, Priest, and King. Maureen: Great! Thanks. MEntity: Though the preference for methods of change is not limited to Role, there may be some familiarity in the brief descriptions. In the United States, which is a heavy Artisan/Warrior country, change tends to come in the correlative ways associated with those Roles. This is an example on a larger scale. We can elaborate in further exchanges, but this structure of preferences and paths for Change tend to be how social change comes about, and how those within those social structures will fight to implement their ideal path and preferences. PeterK: What significant medical advances are humans likely to achieve over the next 50 years? MEntity: Two of the most significant advances with the highest probabilities are Longevity and relief from nearly all disease. The average life span that retains the quality of life looks to be nearly 100 years with decline over the next 15 making the average life around 115 years. PeterK: Wow! MEntity: Essences are already taking into account the additional 30+ years of quality life. The relief from disease is less about medical advances and more about dietary changes that must happen for sustainability. We include this in medical advances, however, because alongside dietary changes are medical breakthroughs in technologies that move away from dependence upon drugs and more toward replicated cellular processes. We do not have the correct terminology through this channel, but it is close. PeterK: Thank you very much. Juni: I would like to know what Presidential Candidate Bernie Sander's Chief Features are, and for an updated answer for Geraldine's question of six months ago of the probabilities of his winning the Democratic nomination and possibly the general election as things stand now, if time permits? MEntity: Arrogance and Impatience are the Chief Features of this Sage, and probabilities are around 48% at this point for the nomination and stand at 65% for the Presidency if nominated. Evelin: Michael, we already know of Heart Links which form after two Essences have completed all "classic" External Monads with each other. And to Maureen you mentioned Sacral Links, which are formed after overcoming Shame. As time allows, can you tell us are there any other Chakra Links, and how are they formed? MEntity: There are 3 types of Links that can be formed across lifetimes, and all of these are tied to the completion of Monads, but with different sets emphasized. These Links are the Heart/Brow Link, the Crown/Throat Link, and the Sacral/Plexus Link. The Heart/Brow was never the only Link, but it took some time for the questions to move toward the expansion of the concept that there may be others. The Heart/Brow Links are formed from Intimacy and Compassion, while the Crown/Throat are formed from Learning and Teaching, and the Sacral/Plexus are formed from Healing and Empowerment. Evelin: Makes sense. MEntity: We may sometimes specify what was healed, for instance in the case of overcoming shame, but this may be different for different fragments. Evelin: I understand. MEntity: These Links are not merely from the experiences of intimacy, learning, teaching, healing, etc, but are about long arcs of experience related to these themes that cord the chakras together during lifetimes in a pattern that, eventually, bonds. Nan: Parallel to Cary's question, I would like to ask about hay fever and asthma (respiratory allergies). What are the metaphysical underpinnings and the physical and metaphysical ways to address the condition? MEntity: All breathing issues stem from one's inability to fully accept the life and some specific part of it, depending on the respiratory ailment. In terms of hay fever this tends to be related to unresolved issues with a particular person who is felt to have compromised the pleasure or joy that is possible in life. In terms of asthma, the issue to tends to be related to the either a specific caretaker/parent, or some vague authoritative figure ("life," "god," "the government,") who felt to incapacitate one's capacity for choice and freedom. When these are found in children before the 3rd Internal Monad, they usually reflect the issues of a parent or caretaker. To help manage or reverse conditions related to these, it can help to address any issues regarding feeling oppressed, repressed, controlled, and reduced in the capacity for pleasure, especially in how these might be associated with a specific person. Or a specific concept. Nan: Very interesting to think about. But, hay fevers tend to be seasonal--having issues with a particular person can be year-round. MEntity: That is because Hay Fever reflects the way this person may be seen as triggering the person, as well. That person may be around all year, but triggers you in cycles. Furthermore, it is not so much about the seasons as it is that the individual is susceptible to this condition in the first place. Others are not susceptible at all, and this is because of how triggers are handled differently. Keep in mind that ailments and symptoms are symbolic reflections of a process, not a direct causation and correlation. Nan: This is very interesting. Thanks. MEntity: Good evening to each of you. We will conclude here for today. Goodbye, for now.&
