  1. March 28, 2002 Troy Tolley, Channel Open Floor [M_Entity] Hello to all of you. We are here. We will begin with the requested “Energy Report” for the weeks between March 30 and April 12, 2002. As most of you know, the energy throughout the year as the Overleaves describe it, shifts in emphasis as the “seasons” change. The entirety of the year could be said to have a context described by the Role for the year and the Centering, while the first 3 months tend to focus on the Goal, the following 3 months the Mode, the following 3 months the Attitude, and the year ending with the Chief Features. This means that “spring time” is, IN GENERAL (and not a rule), a time period with emphasis on relationships, intimacy, and the Mode. This year’s Mode is Passion, meaning that relationships in general will take on a more profound emphasis in the context of Self-actualizing or Identifying, the positive and negative poles of Passion respectively. During the next few weeks any important relationship that can possibly bring you lessons within the context of Intimacy will be drawn to you. Your reaction, regardless of your own Mode, will tend to AT LEAST have more of a passionate feel to them. This means you may either find yourself creating attachments and needs to those who are close to you, emphasizing THROUGH OTHERS what it is you most want or don’t want in yourself. OR, you may emphasize that these relationships are actually helping you to “actualize,” or manifest, the very things you most want, most consciously. The only difference, really, between Self-actualization and Identification, is in that the first allows you to bring out of yourself what you perceive, while the latter attaches a desired or undesired trait to someone else. This we say in the context of relationships, while Passion will mean other things within other contexts. Over the next two weeks we would suggest being open for a great amount of physical and astral interactions with many fragments known and not yet known in your life. We remind you that the Overleaves for a “year” are simply a description of parameters that the general collective consciousness is seeking to emphasize for a time period as a means to create, change, or update Community and World Truths. In that process, your own may be created, changed, or updated. We will comment, as well, that the past week was a Parallel Shift, with a focus on Converging. We will take questions now on the Energy Report, if there are any. If there are no questions, we will then move to the OPEN FLOOR Format for the night’s session. You may begin. [Val1] Can you tell us more about creating, changing our own truths? [M_Entity] In the context of this time frame, most of you will be looking at your own Personal Truths in relation to the average World Truths about WAR, Religion, and Community. There is a focus now on these very important Truths as they stand for those who are in more dangerous positions and how that may or may not affect you. As most of you know, there are Personal Truths, which are subject to change at any time, and they may or may not be anyone else’s Truth. There are Community Truths, which are shared beliefs, which contribute to World Truths. World Truths are true for everyone on a planet, whether they wish them to be Truths or not, such as Grass being Green, and Gravity. Depending on your Personal Truths, the World Truth that War still exists and affects the planet may or may not be a “good thing.” When enough Personal Truths shift, which then shift Community Truths, then World Truths can change as well. Even the Truth of Gravity can change, if its properties change as a World Truth. We believe the properties of War would be even easier to change. Many of you will be dealing with your thoughts, feelings, and actions as they relate to those issues of War, Religion, and Community. Your own Personal Truths may or may not be affected. [ShannonB] You have told us in the past, how new diseases will have to develop as we discover cures for existing ones. Today I read about a mysterious disease that has killed people in Europe: variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, similar to “mad cow” disease in bovines. Is this one of the diseases that we “needed” to thin our population, and what is causing it? [M_Entity] No disease is “needed,” though there will always be new ways for exiting the planet created as old ways are alleviated. That particular disease appears to be localized and not contagious or hereditary, though dietary-based in its origins. This disease has been around much longer, but not so specifically defined as now. As dietary intake continues to be more poisonous than nutritional, more effects will be seen. [ShannonB] Is it related to ingesting contaminated red meats? [M_Entity] We see a common denominator among these fragments ingesting consistent amounts of toxic flesh, yes. [LiSaC] I’d like some suggestions on what some options are that women have to be healthy during and after menopause. [M_Entity] If Menopause were treated as a passing life transition, it would be much easier to process. Menopause, and Menopause-Andropause in men, is a hormonal wash removing the base desire for procreation. It is practical biologically, but is also a profound opportunity for shifts psychologically or spiritually, as well. During this phase, which is usually linked to the 5th Internal Monad, biological relief can be found in what has come to be referred to as “wild yam” products. Estrogen replacements are risky, but worth it for some. Other than these basic remedies, only time can remedy the process. With the emphasis being on the 5th Internal Monad, the process will include a very profound look at what the life has accomplished by your own terms, and what you can now do to experience freedom within the frameworks and patterns that have been set. Although Menopause and Andropause are not limited to those experiencing the 5th Internal Monad, it is consistent enough to be considered. We do not have a quick remedy or suggestion for alleviating the stress of the process, but we do believe the more difficulties involved for an individual tend to be directly proportional to their personal belief that they have not “proven themselves” yet. We believe addressing the wonders of the life that have been experienced, rather than the want for something undefined, vague, and somehow more meaningful, the process can be freeing, rather than debilitating. Menopause/Andropause allows the psyche the opportunity to truly assess the life-to-date, and though much of it may be disappointing to the Personality, choosing to view the life from the eyes of your Essence can alleviate the strongest of discomforting symptoms. Your contributions to a life are far more amazing than may be possible to see from your position, but Essence knows. It can do wonders to ask family and friends for feedback and stories to convey any influences and meaning a person may have left in a life. [sam-nemo] In the original transcripts meditation, fasting and concentration were mentioned several times, it seems the last two are no longer being emphasized, why? [M_Entity] We remind you that we are always filtered through our channels and their own personal agendas at the time, however synchronistically or not that may be. We also remind you that we are speaking to different groups than we were in our early days before publication. Fasting and Concentration were concepts carried over from those studying other teachings at the time. For some, a more severe or radical change in daily practice helps the individual create changes they may want. For others, gradual practice is as acceptable. [sam-nemo] So meditation is the most beneficial to the most people? [M_Entity] No, it is not that meditation is most beneficial, but it is the most acceptable and most easily applied by most of our students and channels. Most are willing to find some means to relax, but would find it difficult to go without food for a few days. We can, however, say that many of you would benefit more than can possibly be assumed if a proper fasting were implemented. The same can be said of Concentration. Fasting, Meditation, and Concentration are all linked to the Centers, Moving, Emotional, and Intellectual, respectively. Finding techniques in any one of these can help balance all the Centers. [MaryBV] I am feeling some very familiar, yet new energy in the room tonight. Can you tell me anything about this energy? Is there a group past life to be shared? [M_Entity] Of course there are past lives shared. There is no one present that does not share a past life with the entirety of the group here in some way. The Energy you feel is familiar because it IS. It is also “new” because new Personalities now house these familiar Essences or souls. It is a time of reunion for many of you. Watch your emails, listen for your phone, answer your doors. Many of your Cadre Mates are looking for comfort in numbers, as you are. [essencess] How can one shift the cellular memories and all that that brings up to a new truth of peace on this planet now… I mean memories of war. [M_Entity] Until all fragments on the planet have been touched on all levels in deeply important ways by war, then there will continue to be war. With the shift from Young to Mature Soul Consciousness on the planet, a great deal of Late Baby and Early Young are feeling anxious and in need for making their marks. They have not been touched emotionally by war, only intellectually or physically. We speak of these fragments in terms of their collective lifetimes, not this particular one. All Souls engage in war, willingly, at some point in the incarnational cycle for varying reasons and on varying levels and degrees. You may not be able to change the choices of those fragments wishing to participate in or create war, but you can personally make choices and decisions in ways that will alleviate the impact on you as much as possible. There is no way to “escape” the physical plane, but you will always have choices. With that being said, we believe CHOICE then is the best way to “shift cellular memories.” Many of you who have experienced what might be called atrocities of war, are now quite repulsed by the entire concept. Making conscious choices can change anything, even if only on a personal level. Within the context of War, we think taking time out to resonate harmony outward and to the planet is much more than a fantastical daydream; THIS DOES CONTRIBUTE. Closing yourselves off from the reality of the situation on the planet will not change anything. There is a war occurring on your planet and you are affected, whether only energetically or specifically. Decide to what degree you feel you can contribute to the emphasis of certain choices available and act on that. By this we mean, if you feel volunteering time in some way helps make the world a better place, and then do it. If you feel meditating and inviting harmony for all will help, then do it. Many of you have clever and appropriate and affecting ideas, but do not implement them. The physical plane requires Action; therefore, in some way, the body must be used to help bring change. We remind you that we do not have an investment in whether you participate or not, whether you care or not. We are merely responding to your question. We do not share this to tell you what to do, but rather to point out the discrepancies between wanting change and making change. Choice and Action will be your tools, whether relieving your cells or your local neighbor. [JNelson] If the entire world decided that gravity did not exist, would it cease to exist? [M_Entity] Yes. It really is that simple. But we doubt any Sentience will choose that route of destruction when there are more creative paths requiring less patience and time. What most will do when in want of overriding a World Truth, such as Gravity, are to find means to defy those Truths, such as flying, space travel, etc. This does not change the Truth, but it does change how you relate to the Truth. [JNelson] Have many such drastic changes happened in the past? [M_Entity] We have never seen a change in a World Truth on that scale. There are truly “root assumptions” hardwired into the fabric of a soul that allow the game to be played. We would call these Natural World Truths. On the other hand, Generated World Truths, such as War, do change. We will conclude here. Good night.
  2. OMW - Apr 20, 2013 - How You Matter and Why This Matters To You 9:45 AM 4/20/2013 Channel: Troy Tolley [MEntity] Hello to each of you. We are here, now. We may begin discussing with you the suggested concept of how you "matter" and how this might matter to you. [MEntity] Before exploring the nuances of "matter" as a matter of study and self-reflection, it is important to note, first, that there is no such thing as someone not mattering. Everyone matters. Everyone. There are no exceptions. [MEntity] As we explore the nuances of this, the validity of this may become clear. [MEntity] This quality of mattering starts to become clearer as one exits the Young Soul Age, and enters the Mature Soul Age. [MEntity] This is because it is when the Essence and the Personalities begin to truly grasp the impact of oneself and others in both figurative and literal senses. [MEntity] There are two ways in which one finds one matters: figuratively, or perceptually; and literally, or directly. [MEntity] As with nearly everything, there are ways to matter in positive ways and in negative ways. [MEntity] Keep in mind that our polarities are not degrees between "good and bad," but degrees between expansion and contraction, openness and closure, inclusivity and exclusivity, etc. [MEntity] In earlier lifetimes with earlier Soul Ages one tends to focus on how one matters from the negative pole. This brings an emphasis on how one matters to those defined as significant, as opposed to the older Soul Ages were it begins to matter to you if you matter to even the broadest range of strangers. [MEntity] As one grows in Soul Age, it will continue to matter if you matter to those you have deemed significant, but this will be included in the broader scheme of things regarding how you matter to the world, how your life matters, etc. [MEntity] In earlier Soul Ages, it will tend not to matter at all how one matters to "the world," as long as one matters to those deemed significant. [MEntity] Another way the Negative Pole can manifest is if one is only concerned with how one matters to "the world" over how one matters to those deemed signficant. [MEntity] Again, the poles are about inclusivity over exclusivity. [MEntity] How one matters to "the world" overshadows how one matters to those deemed significant is a hallmark of the Young Soul. [MEntity] The weight of how one matters begins to grow heavy for the Mature and Old Soul because how one matters to "everything and everyone" comes into consideration, and the balancing that can be required of this can be quite challenging. [MEntity] It is particularly heavy for the Mature Soul, and begins to lighten for the Old Soul over the Levels. [MEntity] This is because during the Mature Soul Levels, this is constantly measured and there is a constant monitoring and balancing in place that can be exhausting, but during the Old Soul Levels, the assumption that (every) one matters begins to integrate as part of one's base line. [MEntity] Depending upon where one is in Manifesting Soul Age, then the consideration of how one matters will take on different degrees of emphasis and weight. [MEntity] For most Old Souls, there is still some weight and emphasis to the concept because it has been a Young Soul world shifting to Mature Soul for a long time. It is difficult to transcend the resonance of considering how one matters. [MEntity] The first part of this workshop's activities is to respond to the following question: CREATE A LIST OF 5 THAT MATTERS TO YOU. This list is not definitive, but a sampling. Let whatever comes to your mind or heart be heard in this moment, and list those 5. It is okay if more come to you after that list. [MEntity] *****LIST OF 5***** [brian] 5 people, topics, events? [MEntity] We leave that to you. [GeraldineB] Things that matter to me: the internet, my computer, the Michael Teachings, the Project, completing my 5th IM [DianeHB] Tex, my family, friends, the Michael Teachings, sustaining prosperity [brian] security, self-expression, ability to make a positive lasting impact to others by helping and teaching, figuring out where I "belong" in the world, and being accepted and relatable to others [Janet] Supporting my daughters in pursuing their life goals, Ensuring that my Mom and Dad are okay , Leaving a positive legacy in my work, Being perceived as a pleasant person, Being creative whenever possible in things I do at home or at work [Bobby] (in no particular order) Marty, my home, my cats, my freedom, this teaching [ClaireC] Family, friends, Ecology - all animals, plants, oceans, communication and Love. [IngunD] Joy, me, my sons, family/friends, the earth [Maureen] That “everything” be understood, people’s health and well-being that I come into contact with, sleep, rest, physical “security” [MEntity] We will return to these. [MEntity] As we stated in the beginning of our discussion: there are two primary ways one tends to matter: perceptually/figuratively, and directly/literally. [MEntity] How one matters perceptually/figuratively is how one contemplates how one matters when alone. [MEntity] It could be described as how you see yourself. [MEntity] How you interpret yourself. [MEntity] But not just how you interpret yourself, but how you interpret yourself in the SPACE between EVENTS. [brian] could you give an example of what you mean by the "space between events?" [MEntity] Though only a minor play on words, "Matter" is always, almost completely, made up of SPACE. [MEntity] The depth you determine you matter is often defined in that space/time between experiences, between events, in your "down time," your aloneness, your fragmentation. [MEntity] No Essence or Personality is bombarded with experience 100% of the time; there is always space/time between those experiences, and this where perceptual matter comes in. [MEntity] This is inclusive of your Reviews, both within life and between lives, and your time between relationships, between events, within your boredom, your meditation, your dreams, etc. [MEntity] MOST of your life is aloneness. MOST of your life is the space between. This is because you are never where you are not, but you can often be where others are not, or where nothing is happening. This is not a sad or bad thing. It is a natural function of this universe. [MEntity] How you matter to you, then, is often determined in that space between, reflective of how matter exists in the universe. You are made up of the same materials, functions, and properties that can be found in the physics and quantum physics of matter, and so it is not merely novel to draw parallels to how you define the depth and degree of your own matter. [MEntity] This degree and depth of perceptual matter helps define the degree and depth of Manifestation of True Personality and Essence. [MEntity] It is the medium through which Essence Manifesting, and True Personality emerge. [MEntity] This entire function of perceptual matter is managed in the Personality by the ATTITUDE. [MEntity] How you perceive and interpret the world through your primary philosophy helps to determine the space between events, people, experiences, and how you determine how you matter to you. [MEntity] If your Attitude is in the Negative Pole, how you feel you matter may decline in value. [MEntity] If your Attitude is in the Positive Pole, how you feel you matter may increase in value. [MEntity] We describe this angle on how you matter as being perceptual or figurative, because it is not truly measurable. It is self-determined, and cannot be determined by anyone but you. [MEntity] However, it WILL BE what you present to others. [MEntity] Your Attitude is the first Overleaf offered up when interacting with others. [MEntity] In nearly every social exchange, it is the Attitude that is the primary medium. [MEntity] It is where you display your self-esteem, your trust, your confidence. [MEntity] It is how you display how you matter to you. [MEntity] And this is determined by you in your aloneness. [MEntity] Depending upon where one is in this determination can play out as activating the Chief Negative Features for protection of one's values, or for expressing, representing one's values. [MEntity] This is one of the reasons why Meditation is considered seriously as a matter of healthfulness for being extant, as it brings to the forefront of your consciousness the truth of your aloneness, your existence, and when you can sit with this, you increase your capacity for matter. [MEntity] Keep in mind that "meditation" includes a spectrum of methods that is not limited to simply sitting in a lotus position, but is a practice in allowing singularity, both in focus and in presence. [MEntity] Regardless of your Attitude, its poles, or where it may "slide," a quick check in with your Intellectual Center can help you to determine in the moment where you are in your Attitude and its expression of how you matter. [MEntity] Regardless of your Centering, the Intellectual Center is hooked into the Attitude Overleaf. [MEntity] The Intellectual Center is polarized by INSIGHT vs REASON. [MEntity] So a quick check in with yourself in terms of where you are in how you matter to you is to pay attention to how you interact socially, but also whether you bring Insight to those exchanges, or Reason. [MEntity] REASON is expressed in justifications, explanations, causes, usually removing oneself or another from an equation. [MEntity] INSIGHT is the capacity for accurate, intuitive comprehension of a person or event, inclusive of all parts of the equation. [MEntity] Insight will include Reason, but Reason will function differently than when it is exclusive of Insight. When Reason is a part of Insight, it is logical, critical, rational thinking, whereas when Reason is exclusive of Insight, it tends toward defense, excuses, blame. [MEntity] Reason within Insight is the parts that helped bring the whole of Insight, the bricks that build the platform. Reason without Insight is still bricks, but usually just thrown from where one stands, if you will. [MEntity] Does this make sense? [Janet] The description of insight vs. reason makes sense. [Janet] I don't yet see application to the topic. But I'm sure it's coming. [DianeHB] yes, it makes sense [MEntity] We will try to clarify here, then. [IngunD] yes [MEntity] How one perceives oneself in terms of matter is expressed through the Attitude. The degree to which one is in the positive pole of the Attitude is the degree to which one has determined one matters, and the degree to which one might be in the negative pole is the degree to which one may still feel one does not matter. [MEntity] This plays out in social scenarios and exchanges. [Janet] I see that. [brian] I understood that part [MEntity] This is because this is where one carries self-esteem, confidence, and trust, and how that is built, which is determined by how one matters to oneself, or perceives she matters. QUESTIONS [MEntity] We will take your question, then, to help us determine if we can clarify further, or if it is a matter of continuing on. [brian] I think I know what the answer will be, but I'll ask the question anyway [brian] how do we figure out how we matter to ourselves? [MEntity] Brian - here are a few considerations for determining your perceptual matter, or how you matter to you: the degree to which one can be alone without being lonely; the degree to which one can express his values without defense; the degree to which one allows trust; the degree to which one is confident. [MEntity] Keep in mind that we say "HOW" one matters, not "whether" one matters. You will always matter, but HOW you matter is what may matter to you. How one matters is described by your determination of how you "matter to the world," and/or "matter to others." [brian] That may explain why I think of "utility" when you say "how one matters" because I am seeing it through the lens of the pragmatist attitude [MEntity] When one of those excludes the other, it can be painful and heavy, or when there is a lack of connection between the two as extremes. [MEntity] Whomever may wish to ask a question at this point can do so, regarding what we have shared, so far. [GeraldineB] Does one's CF trigger the negative pole of Attitude or vice versa? [MEntity] Geraldine, it is the latter. Chief Negative Features are passive. They can only be activated by another Overleaf. [MEntity] We will continue. [MEntity] The other way one matters is in terms of Direct or Literal ways. [MEntity] This is managed in the Personality by the GOAL. [MEntity] This tends to play out in how you impact "the world" or "others." [MEntity] The emphasis here is on "impact." [MEntity] That is because the Moving Center is hooked into every Goal, regardless of your Centering. [MEntity] You can determine how you feel you matter in terms of impact by checking in with the Positive and Negative Poles of the Moving Center. [MEntity] This is a spectrum between PRODUCTIVE and FRUSTRATED. [MEntity] Your Goal is something that is never completed, with no finish lines, but is a state or quality your Essence/Personality aims to create, sustain, and share as an impact on the world and others. [MEntity] The more one tends toward the Positive Pole of the Goal, toward being Productive, the more one tends to determine that one matters. [MEntity] To the degree that you feel you create, sustain, and share the impact of your Goal, is often the degree to which you feel your presence and participation matter to the world and to others. [MEntity] Though the Goal, in itself, is not always something obvious and tangible, the impact of the effort to create, sustain, and share it is entirely measured in tangibility. [MEntity] Your Productivity or Frustration at any given moment helps to describe where you are in that aim for the Goal. [MEntity] And this, in turn, helps you to determine how you matter. [MEntity] OUR NEXT QUESTION: [MEntity] Do you see a similarity or a discrepancy between how you feel you matter to you, and how you feel you matter in impact? Do you feel they are difficult to differentiate? [GeraldineB] I think that's a nuance that's too fine for me to really grasp [Janet] I really think how I matter to me has an effect on how I matter in impact. [brian] I'm still seeing / experiencing so much through the negative poles that it seems the same to me. I haven't built up a gradient to be able to see the difference yet [Maureen] I feel there is a direct correlation between my impact in the world and how I see I matter. I wish it didn't matter to me -- but it does. [IngunD] How I matter to me influences how I matter in impact [brian] the only distinction I have is when others tell me that I'm making an impact, but it doesn't feel like one to me [GeraldineB] I think I'm usually at a place of just assuming that I have an impact, regardless of whether or not I can see it [DianeHB] I matter to me, though I have more doubts about how I matter in impact. [MEntity] The next part of our discussion on how you matter may bring this together into some realizations for each of you. [MEntity] As with most of our teaching, there is no isolation of parts, but a circuitry and networking that is beautiful and vast. [MEntity] In terms of how one matters, to the self, or in impact, to others, to the world, or both, and whether those are positive or negative, all ties back to your MODE. [MEntity] The MODE is the fuel for both the Goal and the Attitude in the circuitry for how one feels one matters at all. [MEntity] That is because the Mode is where you develop your CORE VALUES. Your Core Values are at the hub of what you use for determining how you matter in all ways. [MEntity] Your list of 5 is relevant here. [MEntity] To the degree that you IMPACT or EXPRESS those values is the degree to which you feel you matter. [MEntity] Core Values develop from how one RELATES, which is described by the Mode. [MEntity] The Emotional Center, or Inspiration, is hooked into the Mode, and thereby one's Core Values, regardless of one's Centering. Therefore, Core Values describe the medium that you use for REFLECTION or PROJECTION. [MEntity] HOW YOU MATTER IN IMPACT, TO YOU, TO OTHERS, TO THE WORLD is dependent upon your pursuit, fulfillment, creation, nurturing, sharing, etc. of those Core Values. These are either Reflected in your impact, in yourself, in others, and in the world, or you Project those Core Values upon those things. [MEntity] Even in your short list of Core Values, you will see the clues that shape your sense of matter. [MEntity] That list shifts, changes, evolves, updates, etc. but there is always a list. [MEntity] OUR NEXT QUESTIONS: Do each of you see how your list fuels your sense of how you matter? Do you see how these play into your Attitude and Goal, as they are expressed or used for motivation for impact? [MEntity] This list is not just about what matters to you, but how you wish to matter in the world, to others, and to yourself. [Bobby] yes [MEntity] Your Overleaves are far more than quaint Personality characteristics. It is a simple system that holds many truths about you. [MEntity] The discussion of how one matters in a life is not a trivial discussion for comfort, but is entirely relevant to how one uses the Overleaves, how one brings oneself into the world and experiences oneself within. [MEntity] A final layer of consideration here is that your list of Core Values of the Mode, and how those play out through your Goal and Attitude, helps determine who and what matters TO you, as well. Moving-Centered Meditations can include anything that involves the Body, from taking a simple walk, to Tai Chi and Yoga to dancing the night away. If you lack balance of Movement, then for a part of your week, your day, emphasize Movement: take a walk longer than you normally would; literally exercise; dance; stretch; do Yoga, etc. If you lack Emotional balance, then expose yourself to elements that provoke or soothe your emotions, such as listening to music (actually listening to it, not just having it as background); experiencing a live concert or performance; watching the sky, sunset, clouds; sitting with nature; etc. If you lack balance of Intellect, then for part of your week or your day, implement Intellectual experiences such as crossword puzzles, brain teasers; singing; shouting out randomly in nonsensical sounds to provoke laughter; telling the truth to a friend or self; writing a list of gratitude; sitting still; etc. On the other side of these experiences one would find the Realizations that come as part of Meditation.

    What is meditation?

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks -- June 2008] [Question] What is meditation? Is it just silencing the internal chattering, or is something else involved? I recently had some personal advice in meditation from Michael, but trying to follow it, I started wondering what meditation actually is. MEntity: From our perspective, “meditation” is a word to describe the work through a triad that leads to adaptable balancing among all centers. This triad could be described as: EXAMINATION, IMPLEMENTATION, REALIZATION. We will describe this in detail now. First, a fragment would Examine the life to determine which Center is seeming least used, least effective, least understood, etc. For simplistic purposes, we will contain this to the 3 Primary Centers. So if one were to see that the MOVING Center is being used the least, or is the least effective, then this would determine the direction of IMPLEMENTATION. This would mean that your “meditation” would be of a Moving-Centered sort. Stillness or stereotypical concepts of “meditation” would not work for this fragment. This fragment could then Implement a moving meditation into his or her days. This moving meditation could be anything that includes the body and movement, which means that meditation could be anything from exercise to dancing to simple movements of the body while seated. Once a method has been Implemented, then the practice of this on a regular basis will lead to REALIZATION, which simply describes the effect of that particular meditation. In this case, a balance within the self that has taught the body how to call upon its moving center in a more effective way. The Implementation stage is the most important stage as it requires some amount of commitment for Realization to come about. The entirety of the experience from Examination to Implementation to Realization is “meditation.” In other words, Meditation is not simply a separation from your routines (examination), nor is it simply the clear focus of intent during parts of your day (implementation), nor is it just the benefits on the other side of implementation (realization). It is a triad of effort. [Question] what would be an example of using Emotional as the Center for Implementation? MEntity: Listening to music that stimulates the emotions could be good for some fragments, while watching dramatic movies could be good for others; still others might find a walk through beautiful environments to be a means for implementing Emotional; exploring art could be another example for some. [Question] So it doesn’t matter if I think of this and that during implementation, as long as I move? MEntity: The more consciousness one can direct toward that which is being implemented, the greater the Realization. So if one is implementing Movement, one can think and feel whatever one wishes, but allow the consciousness to fully embrace the body, the sensations, the experience of the movement as clearly as possible. It cannot hurt to be as focused as one can be on the implementation, but it is not necessary to block other natural elements within you. Those who experience the Realization will find that one can think, feel, and act in a way that each does not overshadow or block the other. This is another topic worth exploring, if our students wished.

    Ask Michael – Open Floor June 7, 2015 Channel: Troy Tolley 12:24:05 PM PeterK: Does positive thinking manifest a positive reality? If so, what is the process or mechanism by which this occurs? MEntity: There is validity to the power of "positive" thinking, but only insofar as that positivity is inclusive, and not exclusive. If "positive" thinking is exclusionary, then it is often merely a delusional tactic to avoid unpleasant elements of the life. MEntity: To be truly "positive," one must embrace the "negative." MEntity: If one is struggling with a terminal illness, it can be most powerful to enlist a positive attitude, but not as a means to escape the reality of the struggle, but to add strength to the very real struggle that may be involved. MEntity: To understand the way that true positive thinking would work is to understand the difference between closing one's eyes to hide from the darkness, and letting one's eyes adjust so that one can see better in the darkness. MEntity: True Positivity is aimed at SEEING, FEELING, and THINKING more, not less. MEntity: When one aims for True Positivity, then one can navigate more to one's benefit. MEntity: Another way to understand True Positivity vs false positivity/escape is to understand that every great meal will be met with the necessity for defecation. One does not avoid eating just to avoid defecation, and if one does so, one is killing the self. MEntity: There are many examples we can give, but we think these help to clarify the benefit of positive thinking vs "positive thinking." 12:36:18 PM ViP: Can you give a brief description of how breathing affects the processes of the brain, mind, and any other part of the body that affects thinking? ViP: Many meditative practices, as well as hatha yoga, emphasize breath control to a great degree and I wanted to understand how this functions better, if you could give a brief description of it. MEntity: Breathing is an automated function that one does not have to monitor as a means to survive. This is true of many functions of the body. MEntity: However, of all the biological functions that one runs automatically, it is one of only a few that can most immediately be measured, monitored, and brought to your awareness. MEntity: It does not require machinery to provide feedback, or a long-term monitoring process to see effects from more mindful control. MEntity: One does not have to depend upon one's status, income, or state of health for access to this function. MEntity: Yes, health can interfere with this function, but unless one is not breathing at all, or completely unconscious, it is still very likely in one's control to some degree. MEntity: This is why this biological function was found to be most effective in helping to bring consciousness to a subconscious process. MEntity: When one takes a simple function that is so vital to one's life and brings to it an awareness and presence, it can bring that same awareness and presence to other areas of the life that have come to be automated and subconscious, or even unconscious. MEntity: Of course, there is also the benefit of oxygen that comes with breathing, and the more one brings this food to the body, the better it can function. The better the body functions, the better the platform for the consciousness. MEntity: Diet and Breathing are two immediate powers one has in making deeply profound changes to the platform that is available for consciousness in a lifetime. The more one brings conscious awareness to either of these, or both of these, as a practice (not as a replacement for automation), the greater the benefit to the strength of platform for consciousness. MEntity: When we say "as a practice" we mean that one does not want to worry about breathing only when you think to breathe. You still want it to be a function that happens with or without your conscious attention. You do not want to starve because you forget to eat, either. But allowing these functions to have some amount of conscious awareness as a part of your day, such as a few deep breaths at the beginning, middle, and end of your day, or making more conscious choices in food intake, allows you to bring greater consciousness to many areas of the life. 12:52:21 PM Janet: When I asked you about a dream I had involving sycamore trees, you told me that some symbols are ancient to the Instinctive Center, and they come up as a language in dreams. I've noticed that a number of students (including myself) have reported dreams involving turtles. Are turtles one of those ancient symbols and, in general, what do they mean? MEntity: The "Turtle" refers to the original move to Earth. This was one of the first creatures to have persistent contact with those who began stabilizing and wandering about. Variations of the Turtle have been in existence previous to our arrival and continue into modern day with very little variation. Over time, this came to represent Earth, our new home. MEntity: Not only were these creatures friendly, but came to symbolize successful stabilization as both a species and individual lives. MEntity: There was a period of time very early on when individuals would go through a simple kind of initiation or ritual that included bonding with the Turtle as a way to say, in so many words, "We think we/you will make it." MEntity: In other words, if you lived long enough, your stability was associated with that of the Turtle as a kind of celebration. MEntity: Over time, many variations of meaning have come to be attributed to the Turtle, but the persistence of the Turtle as representing the consciousness of Earth or the universe that hosts Earth has continued. Janet: That image/idea of the earth actually being on the back of a turtle comes to mind. MEntity: On an individual level, the Turtle can symbolize endurance, innocent persistence without aggression or defense, and passive patience. MEntity: Yes, that is related. 01:07:38 PM BrianW: Hi Michael. Could you comment on differences and similarities of intimacy in monogamous relationships vs polyamorous relationship? MEntity: Most of those differences would be up to the individuals involved. Intimacy for one person can be sustained with only one person while another can sustain intimacy with up to 3. No fragment can tend to manage intimacy with more than 3 others at any given time. MEntity: For most, there is a limit to the number with whom one can sustain intimacy, and it rarely reaches 3 for most. MEntity: What tends to happen is that there is that inner circle of intimacy with whom one can sustain depth of intimacy, and if another were added beyond that, then someone would be moved out to another ring. BrianW: How might one choose which is best for them, or how to make it work? MEntity: Experimentation can help you decide if this involves mutual, sexual intimacy. If all involved can know all involved, then it can work. If you must juggle and sustain barriers among those within that inner circle of intimacy, then it is not working and is likely not an inner circle of intimacy. MEntity: Most who lean toward polyamory use the 2nd Circle/Ring for their management of intimacy, rotating one to three individuals in and out from that inner circle to an outer circle. MEntity: The 2nd Circle can manage up to 7 intimate relationships, so a part of that pool may be sexual in nature. BrianW: And the 1st Circle only up to 3 intimate relationships? MEntity: Yes, at most. The Personality simply cannot sustain more than that, and this includes non-sexual intimacy, as well. 01:22:34 PM DianeHB: Hi Michael, could you talk about how the Pragmatist appears/acts in social situations? MEntity: The Pragmatist in the Positive Pole can show up as attentive, quiet, and observing of how others are maneuvering, behaving, functioning, and producing, offering insight, feedback, and direction only as necessary or as beneficial to the dynamic. MEntity: The Pragmatist in the Negative Pole is your micro-manager, your "nit-picking" and badgering presence, either in obvious ways or in passive-aggressive ways that are not productive, but tend to actually undermine efficiency. By "efficiency" here we mean that an intended effect is lost in favor of the feeding dogma. MEntity: Because Pragmatists can be using any other Attitude, this benefit or undermining can come in the guise of any other Attitude. Many Negative Pole Pragmatists are known to say something along the lines of "I'm just being truthful." MEntity: This is not limited to Pragmatists, because all other Attitudes can also access the Pragmatist. An Idealist can express the same if he's using Dogma, for example. However, most other Attitudes do tend to stay on their own Axis and not involve Pragmatism. MEntity: As usual, the above is highly simplistic and not indicative of the complexities of a human being, but it can be helpful in understanding the dynamic of a trait. 01:36:36 PM Kurt: Hi Michael, I'd like to continue with my series of questions. This time on how the Skeptic appears/acts in social situations. MEntity: The Positive Pole Skeptic is curious, even if presented with surprising, challenging, or discrepant information, behaviors, or expressions. The Skeptic understands Expression and relies on it for gathering information with which she can then sort. MEntity: The Positive Pole Skeptic would rather know than not to know, so it is important to that Skeptic to keep from imposing her own restrictions on others. MEntity: The Negative Pole Skeptic has already decided you are wrong. MEntity: She may probe you for more interaction, not as a means for sorting, but as a means for holding it up to mock or discredit. MEntity: This Skeptic may not even ask you or interact with you because she has already decided you are wrong, uninformed, or some form of threat to her being right. MEntity: The above may be obviously or quietly brought to a social situation. 01:48:25 PM Bobby: Being that this is a Higher Moving Centered year, there has been a good deal of larger seismic activity around the planet so far this year. As things look now and into the rest of this year, are probabilities building for the increased likelihood of any sort of major event of some type? MEntity: Yes Bobby: LOL Bobby: anything else you'd share? GeraldineB: LOL -- Michael, you so crack me up :) Kurt: oh no... MEntity: Seismic activity is being registered more because better methods are being used now, and the more seismic activity, the "better" in that it means relief is coming to stressed lines. This does not always prevent larger events, but it often does. Greater threats arise in areas were seismic activity is low or non-existent, even as it is clear there are fault lines. MEntity: Though there are no years with exclusive claim to major events, we have seen that Higher Moving Centered years do have a strong track record for globally-significant events that can range from earthquakes, extremes of weather, and Solar activity. MEntity: Though several events of extreme have already happened in this year, we do not think the "big one" has come about, but we do think it will. MEntity: In response to your next question: MEntity: To speak of probabilities for Earthquakes is one of the most difficult to assess. We know you know the lack of solid ground we can give for any prediction, and for many probabilities. With that being understood, we can say that we see the higher probabilities for Earthquakes near the 8.0 range as being around Missouri and Tennessee, or further East, because these areas are long-overdue for release. Numbers between 6.0 and 8.0 seem to be most probable further West. MEntity: The entire Pacific Rim up and down and beyond in both directions along the Western United States is high in probability for those numbers. MEntity: The context of the kind of "prayer" and "meditation" has a profound effect upon the outcome of such studies. First, if there are religious elements involved, the effects are often quite contrary to beneficial. If the recipient is aware of the prayer, there can tend to resignation to some idea that some power will save the day. This resignation is different from the surrender that one might have to the trust of medical care or nurturing. Resignation is a disconnect from the life force. So religious prayer is often more harmful than beneficial. MEntity: If the fragment is not aware of the prayer, it has little effect. ClaireC: How about TM? ClaireC: That's not religious. MEntity: When "prayer" and "meditation" is moved outside of the realm of religious resignation to a higher power for saving the day, then there can come to be some benefit. If the recipient is aware of the intent of another's prayer or meditation, the Personality may allow in this subtle networking of nurture. MEntity: This subtle networking will never override the individual's capacity for healing, nor usurp it, or impose healing, but the individual can harness that nurturing for the sake of healing. ClaireC: I'm thinking more in terms of the patient "receiving" healing energy. MEntity: If the individual is not aware of the intent of these more beneficial prayers or meditations, there is little effect. MEntity: The patient never truly passively "receives" healing as much is the patient lets the network of nurture become a kind of safety net of strength and support. MEntity: In other words, kind words of encouragement directly to the fragment vs informing the fragment that kind thoughts and feelings are similar. MEntity: What happens when there is benefit is that there is Cording, and the Cords (energetic bonds of resonance/communication among fragments' chakras) act as a safety net, but not as miracles. MEntity: It should be noted that one cannot cause illness or harm from "prayer" or "meditation" either. MEntity: If one's well-being were so easily affected by the thoughts and feelings of others, many would not live long. 12:42:31 PM cfalde: Diane posted a channeling a few years ago about improving eyesight in later years. You stated in there that those born with poor eyesight were beyond that discussion. Please briefly discuss. MEntity: Some eye conditions are a result of poor light, poor muscle strength, improper use, vitamin or mineral deficiencies, overuse, repetitive conditions, etc. so these can often be helped and even reversed. However, those with genetic conditions may not be so easily helped with mere vitamins and exercise. It would be the equivalent of saying that a person born with no leg could grow a leg just by taking a vitamin or dancing more. It does not work like that. cfalde: True. MEntity: However, there are improvements to altering even the effects of one's genetics, and as these improve and one has access to the capacity for altering these, then one is not confined by those genetics. MEntity: In that case, one could seek out competent professionals who are offering benefits of altering the effects of genetics. At this point, there are few options, but they are improving. MEntity: Replacements of parts of the eyes seems to be the most common possibility at this point. cfalde: lasik and other therapies too. MEntity: Correct. 12:50:46 PM Janet: When a nexus occurs and parallels merge, what is the effect on the memory of a personality who existed in both parallels? Are any memories lost or changed due to the merging of parallels? Or would the merged personality retain memories of experiences from all original parallels? MEntity: Janet, all memories remain intact, but depending on the more immediate necessity and environment, one will transpose over the other. In other words, whichever memories serve the new timeline best will come to the surface. However, there are times that may come later when a conflicting/contradictory memory will come up, and this can be perplexing. It is not a "perfect" system because all memories need to be accessible for the variations of choices. Janet: Oh that’s what I thought — that choice was still key. MEntity: If one set were to be wiped out, it would not be fair to that parallel Personality, but because these remain intact to some great degree, they can come to be bizarre artifacts in memory. MEntity: Some illnesses of memory, such as dementia, can bring up a multitude of parallel memories that seem random and conflicting. MEntity: But are, in fact, often quite "real." 12:58:29 PM Maureen: I've been wondering recently whether or not one can have true (not blind or naïve) acceptance, without "understanding" (...of whatever). Many of us, not just those of us with the Goal of Acceptance, would like to learn how to best, or to better, move towards more Acceptance (+pole Agape). Also, I’ve been noticing how it feels to accept or to not accept – when I experience “acceptance” it feels more expansive and open-ended while non-acceptance feels more conclusive or closed. Your comments please. MEntity: There are 9 Circles of Acceptance that help one to understand the variations in how one learns to Accept. The outermost, or 9th Circle, is the most anonymous and "blind," with a sense of allowance for differences, distance, difficult variations and obstacles to intimacy. For example, you do not have to know every fragment from a culture you have no sense of resonance with to accept that these are "people, too." MEntity: As the Circles grow "closer" to the center where you are, then the importance of intimacy, resonance, and understanding grows. MEntity: It is not that it grows so much as it simply becomes more personal. MEntity: It is still intimacy, understanding, and resonance when acceptance comes in the 9th Circle, as well, but it is from the broadest grounds of empathy you have. MEntity: You can accept that people who are vastly different, far, and stranger to you are still Human and that you are related in such a way because you know you are Human and that you are also strange, distant, and different from others, too. MEntity: The Positive Pole of Agape for Acceptance translates into an "affection." MEntity: One can only have affection for that which is accepted. MEntity: All fragments outside of your 9th Circle will not have a sense of affection about them or for them. MEntity: Every fragment can only truly accept into the 1st Circle one to three fragments at a time, but this does not mean one is not accepting. There are 8 other Circles where one arranges one's capacity for acceptance. MEntity: For those with or without the Goal of Acceptance, the aim for Agape/Affection is always relevant. To do so, one would always seek to choose any possibility of empathy over defense. MEntity: Choosing empathy does not mean condoning, and choosing empathy does not mean putting someone in your closer circles of acceptance. MEntity: The Solar Body Type Nature is as equally consuming as it is giving. It is a delicate economy of taking and giving. There is a kind of transparency in the Solar Body Type that prompts it to find and fulfill identity in or through those who "orbit" about her or him. MEntity: They can be experienced as a constant source of energy, enthusiasm, and delight or as a volatile and overwhelming heat that must remain distanced. MEntity: Aside from the Lunar Body Types, these are the most immature and underdeveloped of the Body Types, in that there is a kind of dependency upon other Body Types for the sense of position and place. MEntity: The Solar Nature can be as child-like and innocent as it can be childish and temperamental. MEntity: Because the Solar Body Type can be so attractive as a source of energy and enthusiasm, they can also be subject to great projection and expectation by others. MEntity: The Solar Nature tends not to be able to hide very well in a life because of the equation of giving and taking in relationships, events, experiences, etc. There would likely always be those who expect of the Solar Nature, and the Solar Nature may find she or he expects of others. MEntity: Because of the rather consuming nature of Solar, its presence is often rather minimal in any combination, only serving as an Active/Positive redirecting of energies for variation of combining planetary influences. 01:40:15 PM Kurtis: Hi Michael, I'd like further elaboration of the Saturnine Nature please, much like last time with Venusian and Jovial and this time with Solar. thanks MEntity: The Saturnine Body Type is the only other Active/Positive body type, and as such is quite focused on rather optimistic, broad visions of DOING. It is correlated with the Priest for this reason. Those with a Saturnine Body Type in Nature will tend uphold grand visions against which all of existence is measured. This generates within them a rather painful streak of demanding perfectionism. MEntity: Saturnine Nature often almost desperately craves a sense of vertical movement, growth, change, evolution, and so even when the life is without challenge, there is a constant barrage of interpretation that there is challenge. MEntity: Even if the body is not tall in terms of a Saturnine Appearance, a Saturnian Nature will bring a sense of "tallness" to the perspective of the individual so that there seems to always be a towering ideal that is carried above the heads of everyone around the body. MEntity: The Saturn Nature can easily fall into a kind of sanctimonious stance in the life, if not careful to consider if his or her challenges are valid. MEntity: The Saturn Nature will always do well to determine if he or she is being challenged, or if he or she is simply being challenging. 01:58:21 PM MikeClev: Could you please expand our knowledge about Saturnian as Health Body type? Thanks. MEntity: The Saturnine Health aspect of the Body Type comes in relation to the anterior pituitary, which, like the Nature, can be regulator of growth, or stunter of growth, or an accelerator of growth. MEntity: In its healthy states, Saturn helps the body to manage all functions related to growth, including reproduction. This gives the body a great range of endurance and longevity due to this management of energy and hormones as they are used by the body. MEntity: In its unhealthy states, Saturn can move out of regulation and into inhibition or overproduction, which leads to issues of instability in the infrastructure of strength in the body. This can show up as high levels of stress and even bizarre and distracting sexual urges and compulsions to help "burn off" the energy. MEntity: Unhealthy Saturnians tend to carry about a kind of "seething" range of unexpressed anger that can wreak havoc on the body. MEntity: In healthy states, it can be one of the most productive body types of all, as it can endure great treks of focus in the use of the intellect, body, and/or emotions. MEntity: But because of that durability, the Saturnine Health can end up having to learn how to say no, how to be clear, and own his or her strengths AND weaknesses. MEntity: Or there can come to be cumulative consequences on the health. 02:07:45 PM Carlotamaria: Hi Michael, I would like to ask if you could explain the Love Monad as completion of a Heart Link. MEntity: The Love Monad can take as many lifetimes as it takes and is under no restriction for timing. For the Love Monad to be completed, the fragments involved will revisit in symbolic (and something literal) terms every Monad that has led up to the Love Monad. So the fragments will revisit the Master/Slave, Slovenly/Meticulous, Matedness, Parent/Child, Hopelessly Loving/Hopelessly Loved, etc. MEntity: These passages through the ingredients of experiences that are leading toward full, unconditional love, would come as arguments, misunderstanding, impulses, compulses, all moving the relationship through toward a full embrace of the best and worst of one another, as well as the self in relation to that person. MEntity: Eventually, the Monad comes to a close when each has come to realize that there is nothing that "matters" more than the truth of the other's existence. MEntity: In other words, all of those experiences came and went, but each of you stayed as a consistent element of existence, and this is truer than the temporary dichotomy of any version of your relationship.   10. MICHAEL SPEAKS 091408 Open Floor Michael Entity: Hello to all of you. We are here. We will begin with a response to the first question. QUESTION: I can see how anger can be useful (to show you when your boundaries have been breached), but Cruelty would seem to have no use. Why does it exist, and where does it come from? Michael Entity: In the same way that Anger is a defense, so is what you might consider to be Cruelty. However, it is important to note that "Cruelty" is often a relative experience. "Cruelty" is often not an intentional by-product of someone's action or choices, but a fragment who is disappointed might assign the label of "cruelty" to the event. For instance, when one fragment can legitimately sense the necessity of a separation within a relationship, but the other fragment is deeply attached and terrified of solitude, the choice of the fragment to move on can be interpreted as "cruel," when, indeed, it was one of the most loving choices the other fragment might have experienced to-date. COMMENT: Oh, I see. I guess I was thinking of cruelty as intentionally trying to hurt another. Michael Entity: It is very important to differentiate the intentional act of Cruelty from the interpretative act of defense against disappointment. Acts of Cruelty are often not just the result of intentions to hurt, but can be the result of neglect, denial, justification, and apathy. With all of that being said, we can now more clearly respond to your original question of "why does it exist," and "from where does it come." The legitimate act of Cruelty, whether intentional or not, is a product of choice, of course, but a product of choice that is entirely self-preserving. Not "self-serving," but self-PRESERVING. There is a difference. Self-preservation is an act of survival and fear, whereas Self-Serving is an act of giving/receiving. Cruelty, then "exists" because there are a myriad of ways in which the fearful body, mind, or heart can turn for survival purposes when these feel threatened. Even the most intentional, drawn-out acts of torture as a form of Cruelty would still be generated from this very same thing. Although all Chief Negative Features can bring about forms of Cruelty, the most active, intentional forms of Cruelty can generate from Arrogance and Self-deprecation, and the most passive forms of Cruelty can generate from Impatience and Martyrdom. In terms of "Cruelty having no use," we would agree. Cruelty is an unnecessary byproduct of fear and has no value beyond the false sense of defense. QUESTION: Would you say anything about healing our bodies when they have been experiencing physical and emotional cruelty? Michael Entity: The response to your question might find more relevance on an individual basis, but what we can say in general is for any fragment who has experienced Cruelty, whether real or imagined, 50% of the healing would come from the comprehension that the Cruelty had nothing to do with you, or your value, your meaning, your worth, your choices, your past, future, etc. In short, it has nothing to do with you at all. Many who experience Cruelty, real or imagined, healing is delayed by the constant questioning of WHY. Most often there is no answer to this question that would satisfy you. The focus for healing would be more beneficial in the direction of HOW, as in focusing on your rebuilding, your personal compassion and kindness, and your support. QUESTION: Recently it was channeled I have a surrogate task companion because my TC is not available. What reasons would a Task Companion not be available so that a surrogate TC would need to be available, and could the surrogate TC relationship last across lifetimes. Michael Entity: All fragments have surrogate Task Companions and Essence Twins. There is a spectrum of reasons for why a fragment falls into unavailability, such as death, distraction, change of plans, lack of memory, lack of interest, lack of skills or tools required for the task at hand. An Essence cannot predict the outcome of the choices that a Personality might make within a lifetime, and often those choices are counter to original intentions for the lifetime. As the soul grows older, rather than generate Karmic Ribbons as a result from the impact of another fragment's choices that might alter your plans for a life, it is simply more practical to have a surrogate step in. Surrogate relationships do tend toward consistency and are usually drawn from the closer strings within your circle of support (your Support Group of 12). For instance, a 3rd String Knowledge Position might be your Surrogate Task Companion, and a 2nd String Love Position might tend to be your surrogate Essence Twin. If these terms are unfamiliar to you, Troy can direct you to resources for exploring that Support Group details further. QUESTION: Is it possible to run out of surrogates (if the surrogate is unable to be there for some reason)? Michael Entity: Surrogates do tend to still fall into some kind of mathematical resonance with you in a way that would be similar to the fragment for whom one is stepping in. It has happened to all of you here that, after the life was entered, "no one was around." Those lifetimes can tend to be surprisingly delightful or terrifying, much in the same way one might feel if one were to plan a trip to the mall, or upon arrival to school, and finding oneself in a complete "free-for-all." Those lives are rare, especially after the Baby Soul Age cycle, because the skills for creating a Personality and lifetime becomes an art for Essence, but it has happened to some Older Souls. QUESTION: I would like clarification re: the 9/12 "Trues". There are 9 Trues PLUS Life Task/True Work, but the 9 Trues are actually grouped in threes with the True Work to make 3 quadrates. Does that mean there are 3 different aspects to the Life Task/True Work depending on its quadrate, thus making 12 Trues, 3 of which are variants of True Work? or is it 9 Trues plus 1 True Work/Life Task? which would make 10 trues . . . Michael Entity: Both angles of interpretation would work. Technically, there are 9 "Trues" made up of 3 Triads of support for the Life Task in various contexts of "Personal," "Community," and "Planetary." The phrase "True Work" was a kind of shorthand as the original concept was delivered in a consistent way to describe the Personal Quadrate and was interpreted by some as indicating a separate concept from Life Task. However, it is valid to say that the Life Task can be described through various suggestions under a title of "True Work" and each could be more specific to the different Quadrates. In other words, the Life Task would remain the same as an overall arc of description, but methods of action for manifesting the Life Task could be described in terms of True Work on a Personal level, a Community level, and a Planetary level. QUESTION: so in a sense all 9 Trues combine together as supportive elements of the Life Task which is the summation of the 9 Trues? Michael Entity We describe the three Triads as each supporting the Life Task, but the ultimate pattern is one of progressive, though non-linear, evolution, or pyramidal evolution. Any system of 9 is a pyramidal form of evolution in our system, such as the 9 Needs. When a fragment's Life Task tends to be on a Personal Level, the "base" is built from the Personal Quadrate, or Pillars of Vitality. When a fragment's Life Task tends to be on a Community Level, the base is built from the Community Quadrate, or Pillars of Harmony. When a fragment's Life Task tends to be on a Planetary Level, the base is built from the Planetary Quadrate, or Pillars of Transformation. However one "builds" or visualizes this pyramid of evolution, there will be tiers of development that eventually address all Quadrates. We have much more to say about this subject, but will move on for now. NOTE FROM TROY: Michael also shared this image for me as a way to understand this "pyramid," so I mocked up a copy as best I could. For some of the advanced students, note that the Life Task/True Works are Action; Play, Health, and Core are Expression; Rest, Spirit, and Love are Inspiration; Study, Home, and Gift are Assimilation. See attached image or the image above, if it shows properly. The image isn't static, either, but rotates as necessary or depending on a person's emphasis. [QUESTION]: How does serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, manifest in relationship to Roles and Overleaves? Are they caused by the Overleaves or are the Overleaves masked by the illness, until the illness is successfully treated? Michael Entity: No "mental illness" is caused by the Overleaves themselves, but understanding the Overleaves can help one to manage "mental illnesses." Most breakdowns in Personality however, when not due to any physical damage or developmental distortions, are usually Centering issues. COMMENT: I am going on the research that says these are physical illness. Michael Entity: Schizophrenia, for example, is the inability for the emotional elements of a Personality to communicate with one another, tending to be an Emotionally-Centered, Moving Part issue. Bipolar diagnoses are often the issues of Intellectual Centering, Moving Part. "Mental illnesses" that are diagnosed as being sourced from chemical imbalances are still connected to the Centering issues, and it can be a valid form of healing to use drug intervention on that chemical level to bring about a functioning that can then be sustained by the body in the long run. When physical damage or developmental issues of the body are a cause for a "mental illness," then this is usually a direct result of choice or allowance by Essence and is part of a greater theme of experience. In that case, the Goal is usually involved as the primary consideration, but is not the only consideration, of course. In all cases of legitimate mental illness, it is the result of breakdown in communication among the various facets of the Personality, requiring a third-party bridging for effective communication to be returned. There are a number of ways a fragment can focus a lifetime on issues that require comprehension of interconnectedness, dependency, and the importance for allowing help, so mental illness is one of those ways. Again, this is a question that can be more effectively answered in relation to specific individuals, but we believe our response here will offer some relevance in general. QUESTION: You have told earlier about suitable ways to meditate for people with emotional/intellectual and intellectual/moving centering. What about the rest: intellectual/emotional, emotional/moving, moving/intellectual and moving/emotional? Michael Entity: In nearly all cases for effective meditation, it is not so much about the Primary Center/Part, but about the Centering that is most often neglected. So an Emotionally-Centered/Intellectual Part, and an Intellectually-Centered/Emotional Part could both do well with a MOVING-CENTERED Meditation. Whatever your Centering/Part, you might find the most effective meditations to be in the realm of that third Center of Gravity that is not usually accessed. Moving-Centered Meditations can include anything that involves the Body, from taking a simple walk, to Tai Chi and Yoga to dancing the night away. Intellectually-Centered Meditations can include anything from crossword puzzles and brain teasers to such focused meditations as Transcendental Meditation, to good night of hilarity and comedy. Emotionally-Centered Meditations can include anything from a good listen to music that resonates with you, to cathartic expressions such as can be found in Primal Therapies, to night of tears and intensity at the movies. So a Moving Centered/Emotional Part or Emotional Centered/Moving Part can both do well to get out out the crosswords, brain teasers, or make their way to the nearest comedy venue. The point of meditation, in general, is to bring about a full functioning of all of the lower Centers, so it will always be most effective to focus first on that Centering that is most neglected. However, if one wants to just feel good and bring some awareness to one's natural, habitual processes, one can focus on a meditation that is resonant to the Primary Centering. Rather than compile a list of meditations for each Centering, each of you can consider this fairly accurately on your own: if it tends to emphasize the Body, it can be used as a Moving-Centered meditation. If it tends to draw up and emphasize the Emotions or feelings, it can be used as an Emotionally-Centered meditation. If it tends to bring about emphasis on the Intellect or thinking, it can be used as an Intellectually-Centered meditation. The difference between an experience being just another experience and its being a meditation is AWARENESS. When you are dancing, listening, or laughing, for example, bringing your awareness to the moment can instantly turn it into a kind of meditation. QUESTION: I'm curious about the "coincidence" of someone dying on the birthdate of a loved one; for example, my grandmother died on my birthday, and my mate died on his mother's. My feeling is, it's like a tip of the hat, a sort of spiritual wink, from one soul to another — if it's possible to generalize. Could you comment please? Michael Entity: "Meaning" is always the result of one's creating it, not finding it, or discovering it. Even when the intentions of someone is clear, the interpreted meaning on the receiving end can be quite different from those original intentions. When one dies, one will die on a day that many MANY will be able to claim as their birthday. With that in mind, we would say that when a person from your intimate circle dies on a personally relevant day, there is often an intention there. What that intention is can be very different among those instances, but we have seen that it is valid that there is usually an intended message there. QUESTION: There has been written and discussed much about that the mobile phones are overheating and making damage to our bodies when much used. There are of course also those that deny facts about any effect in one way or the other. How does the energy from the mobile phones influence on our bodies or the head when we use them? :call: :hypno: :) Michael Entity: Though the use of what you call "cell phones" or "mobile phones" is fairly recent in your history, we have not seen any effects of any significance that could be considered dangerous to the physical body, at least in terms of waves or rays, however some have exploded, causing harm, but that is a different category of threat, and minimal at that. The rays of your sun in one day can have far more impact in "negative" or dangerous ways than a lifetime's use of a cellular phone. The use of a microwave for extensive cooking can have more long-term damage to one's body than the use of a cellular phone for a lifetime. QUESTION: So the heat and dizziness some feels in the head when they hold it for a longer period close to the ears is minimal of distortion? Michael Entity: We base our response on the reports we can see relative to damages or harm caused by cellular phones, but we see none beyond those of the explosive variety and some cases of interference with regulators, such as "pacemakers." The heat is legitimate, but the dizziness appears to be individual reactions to holding up the arm for extended periods of time, or walking and talking at the same time. Other reasons can tend to come from the audio effects on the ear drums as many cellular phones can tend to have poor translation from device to ear. We offer our response as reflective of what is on record at this time, but we do not offer it as a conclusive report. [QUESTION] I see a lot of folks who have bad dreams in my work and have found that while interpretation can be useful, people often find relief just by imagining a better ending for the dream. I don't remember where I learned that (maybe from you?). Anyway it seems to bring relief from nightmares. What is the mechanism by which this works? is it just that I say it will and people believe me? Or is it something astral? or simply the subconscious mind doing its thing? All that seems to be required is a good imagination and being in "alpha" waves. [Michael Entity] There is a level of dreaming that is primarily symbolic and these dreams are where issues from the waking life are being processed or examined. It does not require a fragment to be asleep for those symbols to be meaningful, but the symbols that are recalled from the dream are often the most directly-significant to the issues. For most fragments, the dream state can help resolve these issues being played out symbolically. This symbolic level of dreaming is very similar to how fragments experience and interact on the Astral Plane anyway, but for those fragments who have not resolved the issues being played out in symbolic dreaming, then bringing in the consciousness of the waking personality can help break the worrying cycle that has led to what some describe as "nightmares." This method of resolution is a natural strength for most fragments, which is why it so naturally occurs during sleep where the Personality dissolves to its default nature of strengths and weaknesses. Nearly all fragments assign symbolism to emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical elements of the life, though this symbolism is often lost to the conscious personality (waking state). When you, QUESTIONER, direct a fragment to use those symbols and experiences from the dream in a conscious way to bring about a break in the cycle and to direct toward resolution, it is not only resolving the issue in many ways, but bringing about an alignment between the conscious and subconscious selves. This same method can be used for those who are not having nightmares or remembering dreams: Examining an issue within the waking state and breaking it down into symbolism, then manipulating those symbols into a way that brings about a sense of direction, closure, or change can help implement those very things in the reality. For instance, a fragment may be feeling obstacles or patterns that keep him or her locked into poverty or survival modes. This fragment might choose a symbol to represent himself and the obstacles or patterns, adding in a current idea of a solution, and manipulate these into a way that displays a symbolic solution. Keeping that symbolic sense of solution at hand, in mind, heart, or even visually depicted (drawn out), can help to break the current symbolic pattern. [QUESTIONER] cool! bypasses the intellect setting up barriers I would think [Michael Entity] Your assessment is valid, for it is the Intellect that often keeps movement locked into an undesirable pattern. This is by no means true in all situations, but in many, it is. [QUESTION] Could you give an example of this conscious working with symbols such as the poverty or survival mode idea? [Michael Entity] Questioner, the symbolism would have to be specific to the individual, so our example will not be universal. For instance, one example might be a CAT to represent the individual, a BALL INSIDE A CIRCULAR TUBED TRACK with just a bit of a slit along the inside ring of the tube for reaching at the ball, to represent the pattern/obstacle. The current situation has the cat swatting at the ball over and over and often in a frenzy while the ball is forever locked inside that circular track. No amount of swatting or maneuvering is going to change this ball's circular roll within the tubed track. This person might then change the pattern by realizing that the symbolic pattern of the ball in the track means that everything about what the cat is doing is never going to get anywhere beyond chasing current ideas, actions, and feelings in circles. This situation would either require intervention (maybe a human to come along and break open the track to get to the ball) or to simply walk away to a completely new adventure. For the sake of this example, it might seem to be the most directly implementable action to simply walk away from the current ideas and actions. This person might then imagine the cat walking away wistfully and finding a small tree with accessible branches bearing dollar bills, all dangling in the wind. The cat is seen as having an hilarious and playful time jumping and swatting at the branches and knocking down the dollar bills into a pile. This person, then, might keep that image in mind when he or she begins to feel trapped again within patterns that are obviously not working so that he or she can be open to other, more accessible, inputs and possibilities within the reality. Keep in mind that these symbolic plays are NOT the solution in themselves, but are symbolic shifts toward internal solutions or breaks from patterns in how one is perceiving and interpreting reality, which is then a powerful step toward finding and creating external "real life" solutions and breaks. We would also suggest examining why this person might have chosen himself to be symbolized by a CAT, looking at all that a cat means to that person and applying that insight as a way to discover how he or she sees the self in relation to the issue. We will point out here that this topic could be an entire discussion in itself and one that might be worth examining in the future. [QUESTION] What is meditation? Is it just silencing the internal chattering, or is something else involved? I recently had some personal advice in meditation from Michael, but trying to follow it, I started wondering what meditation actually is. [Michael Entity] From our perspective, "meditation" is a word to describe the work through a triad that leads to adaptable balancing among all centers. This triad could be described as: EXAMINATION, IMPLEMENTATION, REALIZATION. We will describe this in detail now. First, a fragment would Examine the life to determine which Center is seeming least used, least effective, least understood, etc. For simplistic purposes, we will contain this to the 3 Primary Centers. So if one were to see that the MOVING Center is being used the least, or is the least effective, then this would determine the direction of IMPLEMENTATION. This would mean that your "meditation" would be of a Moving-Centered sort. Stillness or stereotypical concepts of "meditation" would not work for this fragment. This fragment could then Implement a moving meditation into his or her days. This moving meditation could be anything that includes the body and movement, which means that meditation could be anything from exercise to dancing to simple movements of the body while seated. Once a method has been Implemented, then the practice of this on a regular basis will lead to REALIZATION, which simply describes the effect of that particular meditation. In this case, a balance within the self that has taught the body how to call upon its moving center in a more effective way. The Implementation stage is the most important stage as it requires some amount of commitment for Realization to come about. The entirety of the experience from Examination to Implementation to Realization is "meditation." In other words, Meditation is not simply a separation from your routines (examination), nor is it simply the clear focus of intent during parts of your day (implementation), nor is it just the benefits on the other side of implementation (realization). It is a triad of effort. [QUESTION] what would be an example of using Emotional as the Center for Implementation? [Michael Entity] Listening to music that stimulates the emotions could be good for some fragments, while watching dramatic movies could be good for others; still others might find a walk through beautiful environments to be a means for implementing Emotional; exploring art could be another example for some. [QUESTION] So it doesn't matter if I think of this and that during implementation, as long as I move? [Michael Entity] The more consciousness one can direct toward that which is being implemented, the greater the Realization. So if one is implementing Movement, one can think and feel whatever one wishes, but allow the consciousness to fully embrace the body, the sensations, the experience of the movement as clearly as possible. It cannot hurt to be as focused as one can be on the implementation, but it is not necessary to block other natural elements within you. [QUESTIONER] I thought so [Michael Entity] Those who experience the Realization will find that one can think, feel, and act in a way that each does not overshadow or block the other. This is another topic worth exploring, if our students wished. [QUESTION] I want to know about the 4th internal monad and how one would know if they were on the way to manifesting their true personality [Michael Entity] The easiest way one can gauge whether one is moving forward through the 4th Internal Monad in a way that is a positive transition, or to gauge whether one has completed a 4th Internal Monad in a way that was in the Positive Pole, is to ask one, simple question: DO I LIKE ME? To the degree that a fragment can honestly say that he or she likes himself or herself, is the degree to which the 4th Internal Monad is being completed, or has been completed, in the Positive Pole. The Positive Pole of the entire 4th Internal Monad is Self-Realization, which is the experience of being present with who you are and generally liking who you are. The Negative Pole is Acquiescence, which is the feeling of being forced or succumbing to "who you are," and not really liking who that is. In short, if you can answer the question DO I LIKE ME? with an answer of "yes" to any degree, then you are generally manifesting True Personality to that degree. [QUESTION] There are different ”schools” teaching how to do psychic readings/how to read energy fields/do energy work. When doing a reading it's sometimes being used different energy techniques for different issues coming up in a reading. For instance: 1.Create and destroy, 2.Removing fear energies, 3.Delete programming, 4.Erasure and 5.Astral healing. If possible I would like Michael make a comment on the use of these techniques and the fact that some of these schools, even today, try to keep some secrecy around the energy techniques. [Michael Entity] Many "schools" who claim secrecy over their techniques are run by, and determined by, Baby Souls. The techniques involved would be beneficial to other Baby Souls, and to some Young Souls, but probably quite ineffective for Mature or Older Souls to use. This is because the techniques and beliefs that make these work are mythological and superstitiously rooted. If one can adapt these Baby Soul concepts into a more mature language and method, then the schooling might not be lost on the Mature or Older soul, but this would have to be kept in mind along the way. For instance, the idea that one can heal another is a Baby Soul concept, but the reality that one can help another to heal himself is a Mature concept. Even on the most physical of levels of intervention, a physical doctor can only do so much in treating a fragment and the fragment "being healed" must ultimately do the healing. Tending, or intervening the impact of wounds is one thing; but healing is always a personal matter. The older souls know this. We mention this as an example because many of the more secretive techniques and schoolings teach as an undercurrent a kind of power over others (whether for "good" or "bad,") and this ultimate power is simply not valid. If your technique for healing is considerate of the dynamic that needs to be in place between healer and wounded, with an holistic awareness, then the technique would be the most effective and valid. Techniques that leave out the choice of another tend to lead to Karma. [QUESTION] I have recently been involved in discussions with a few of my friends regarding political and governmental systems regarding which are the most effective. My friends would gladly describe themselves as “libertarian” whereas I cannot completely proscribe to such an ideology, if only because their description of “libertarianism” seems to give too much authority to the private sector and private interests; of which I am not entirely comfortable. They would likely label me as “socialist” or as “bleeding heart liberal” if they didn't know me better! I guess the questions are: Is there or are there ideal governmental system(s) or ideology for the current average soul age we are in currently, based on what Michael has perceived from other sentient beings? What do these systems look like? Perhaps what the United States and the rest of the world is currently experiencing in their governments are pretty typical for our current soul age development? That would be my perception at least. Also, what do typical governments look like on worlds that have a majority of old souls? Or do they even have governments? [Michael Entity] The politics of any given region or period of time usually describe the friction between the approaching paradigm and the current paradigm, each respectively defined by the approaching dominant Soul Age and the current dominant Soul Age. Many of the names assigned to the varying "parties" are tedious and unnecessary, so we will speak in broader terms here. NOTE FROM TROY: Some editing was done from the original text as I asked Michael for clarifications and questioned a couple of the original details. Also, the true definitions and delineations for all of the political/governmental systems can really get complicated, so Michael's response seems to be exactly what they've said, a "broader" perspective, at best. They did explain to me that there are really only three political systems, but a multitude of systems within those systems. [Michael Entity] It could be said that the following political systems are associated in this way: Infant Souls have no politics or order, and are therefore at the mercy of whatever dominant political system is in place at the time. However, they may be most comfortable with Dictatorship, which would be implemented by Baby Souls. The Baby/Young politics have shown up as Dictatorship, Capitalism, and Socialism. The Young/Mature politics have shown up as Monarchy, Republic, Socialism, and Communism. The Mature/Old politics have shown up as Monarchy, Democracy, and Anarchy. Old Soul politics return to a state of no politics, but more of what might be considered Anarchy. We use the word "anarchy" in its true definition, not as the Young or Mature soul might exploit the term. The anarchy usually takes on a form that would be recognized as Tribalism. In response to your questions: We would say that the politics of your current world are exactly indicative of the shifts from the dominant paradigm/soul age to another. From what we can see of other populations dominated by Old Soul Ages and paradigms, there are no governments that you would recognize beyond being more tribal groups in communication and exchange with one another, but with no discernible leader or authority. This is one of the reasons our teaching is particularly attractive to the older soul, since there is no discernible authority beyond the self, and even the sense of self is held in question to a degree that allows for sensitive consideration of all factors involved in the life. An Old Soul world is similar. [QUESTION] I realize my background in government is obviously lacking when I ask this question, but: Is there any distinguishable difference between a democracy and a republic according to Michael's perception? By including both, it seems to be implied that there is a difference. [Michael Entity] We differentiate a Republic from a Democracy in that a Republic has a more specifically-defined body of qualified voters or elected representatives, while a Democracy seeks to include all people, even those who might not be obviously qualified. The concept of Democracy can get confusing in some cultures such as in the United States because several forms of government are in place. Rather than a pure Democracy, the United States is far more accurately described as a Republic, which is a form of Democracy, but not true Democracy. In addition to this, the general promotion of Democracy is run from an Authoritarian perspective, or as a Plutocracy, to be specific. It could be said that the Physical economy of the United States is run by Plutocratic (authoritarian) politics, while the Emotional economy is run by Republican (Democratic) methods, and this is to be considered when looking at politics. There are Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, and Spiritual levels of Politics and Economy to consider in any system. The closest to an old soul political system that exists in your world today is what is experienced as "the Internet." [QUESTION] How are the Internet and politics related? [Michael Entity] If "politics" is seen as a term to describe how a body of people govern themselves and resolve apparent conflicts, then the Internet could be seen as a system of politics. In this case, as would be the case for the Old Soul world, COMMUNICATION would be at the core of those politics, or the INTELLECT as economy. The Infant Soul uses Freedom; the Baby Soul uses Authority; the Young Soul uses Capital; the Mature Soul uses Well-Being; and the Old Soul uses Communication at the root of their politics. The "ultimate" political system, in the end, will have to utilize all of these factors to govern a mix of soul ages. Hence, the politics of a Democracy or a Republic will include previous political emphases to some degree, but with the more current politics being the emphasis. [QUESTION] And so, just as we are doing here in this chat, everyone determines for themselves, and then relates to the outside world through communication. but as an autonomous being similarly engaged with other autonomous beings/people? Something like this? [Michael Entity] We think we have understood your question and we would agree. It could be said then that the politics of the Old Soul are CONTEXTUAL. Certain politics apply within specific instances, but are not seen as appropriate across the board. And each person determines his or her level of compliance within certain contexts, or freely moves to more appropriate contexts. We realize this is far from being deeply explored, but we will move on now. [QUESTION] Since we acquire new bodies each lifetime, why do we still carry "memories" of injuries from past lives into new lifetimes? How does this work? For ex. my back pain has been channeled as being from an injury from a past life that I am working out. [Michael Entity] One only carries "memories" of injuries into a current life when those injuries or memories are relevant to the current life. They are never random, and never literal. For instance, your back pain is a manifestation of similar patterns being explored within this lifetime that are resonant to other lifetimes of similar exploration. It is not that the injury was literally carried over, but that you are doing similar things in a similar way that then resonate to that other lifetime. That resonance can help in healing the current injury only insofar as insights can be gained from experiences integrated by your Essence from that lifetime. The resonance to the other lifetime is not to give justification or distraction from your current ailments, but to allow a means of direct access to the wisdom stored by Essence from that lifetime. If one can imagine one lifetime as one point on a line, while another lifetime is another point at a distance on that line, and then imagine a line being drawn from one lifetime to another, that line CANNOT be "drawn" without first creating an arc through Essence, which is "above the line." Often Personality can relate to other Personalities before it can relate to Essence, so it "remembers" (or receives through a channel) the reference to another lifetime of similarity, but this is merely a method for indirectly accessing Essence. Keeping that in mind can help the point of that remembering and resonance. However, to be more specific in response to your question, it is not the injury that carries over, nor the memory, but the PATTERNS that are stored in your Instinctive Center, which is pulled from one lifetime and then "inserted" into another lifetime. This is not a literal event, but the image is helpful. It can also hep to think of it as a program, or a collection of programs/software that is now available to the new personality. Depending on the choices of the current personality, certain programs/software/patterns will emerge for use, and many will not. In your case, QUESTIONER, you have called upon a theme of self-esteem issues, and these issues are often ignored or overridden on the emotional or intellectual levels to a degree that physical manifestation helps in tending to that theme of issues. You will then find resonance to lifetimes where a similar physical injury or ailment was being explored for similar reasons. [QUESTION] Could Michael suggest some energy-work on such an issue? [Michael Entity] The "energy work" for any given ailment would have to be relative to the ailment and the individual, but we can say that any chronic aching that is related to self-esteem issues would require "energy work" on the Emotional Body as a focal point, while emphasis of RELIEF on the Physical Body will help in allowing that focus. This energy work on the Emotional Body might be anything from cathartic expression to gestalt therapies to flotation therapies to singing therapies to permission therapies that allow for more of what one craves, etc. We wish to point out here that the patterns carried over from one lifetime to another are only brought into reality by the choices of the current personality. For instance, there have have been lifetimes for the Questioner that have been lived between the past life back injury and the back injury of this lifetime. Back pain was not an issue in those lifetimes between. A more poetic way to understand this might be that the songs heard from other lifetimes depends on the melodies played by this one. [QUESTION] I would like more information on the upcoming (or current??) nexus. It feels to me as if everything over a period of some months has been leading to this (at least for me personally.) Lots of old wounds and even fear patterns (particularly self-esteem, self-worth issues) have been triggered. I recognize them for what they are, but I need to find a way to stay focused on what it is that I want to create, particularly in terms of my career. I am also dealing with a boss who has a very different approach to life than I do. I am guessing she is some combination of sage/priest/warrior - very focused, driven (passion mode?) energy though even though I think she is emotionally centered. Whereas, even though I am a scholar, and intellectually centered, my approach is more fuzzy, diffuse, and go with the flow, or at least it feels that way. Any suggestions here? Please direct your answer in any way that would be helpful to others in general. I can follow up with Troy on the more personal aspects later. [Michael Entity] What we can say about the upcoming Nexus is that there seems to be an exploration of the concept of COMPARISONS/CONTRASTS. This seems to be resulting from the enthusiasm/collapse extremes that we have described for many of our students. The enthusiasm comes from the Persistence energy that pushes beyond the collapsing experience of Unchanging energy. It is fair to compare and contrast the unchanging energy with the persistent energy, or the collapsing energy with the enthusiastic energy, but will not be fair to oneself to presume one is stuck in this pattern indefinitely, or to presume one has to remain in one or the other. In light of this, many of you may find representatives of your inner enthusiasm/collapse around you. In your case, it could be said that your "boss" represents the enthusiasm, while "you" represent the collapses. This then leads to your attributing distaste for enthusiasm because your boss expresses it differently from what you would, and this leads to distaste for yourself since you see most easily the collapse in you. [QUESTION] and how to move beyond this? [Michael Entity] What one could do, using your example, is to try what we suggested in our Energy Report, which is to DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. In this case, it might mean to flip and reverse your perspective and interpretations in a completely enlightening and revitalizing way (instead of in the debilitating way that is your current pattern). Allow your boss to be the wonderful representative of how you create your collapses, and for yourself to represent what actually inspires your enthusiasm. In other words, doing things your way actually leads to productivity, creativity, and meaning, while doing things her way leads to confusion, overwhelm, and hopelessness. [QUESTIONER] I'm not quite grasping this [Michael Entity] If we are seeing the situation clearly, we would say that your collapses come in your comparing yourself to others forms of productivity and trying to implement methods not natural to you, whereas realizing what does and does not work for you allows for you to implement practices that encourage your enthusiasm and do not require you to conform to anyone else's methods. We believe we may be getting into personal territory and will halt our response here, but simply point out that the upcoming Nexus is one that emphasizes CONTRASTS and COMPARISONS and this is to allow for heightened awareness of what IS and IS NOT working for you in various areas of your life. The process of Comparing and Contrasting can often feel like self-judgment or judgment of others, and it is just that, but it is not something to be feared. It is simply a natural method for navigating life. To fear it is to remain stuck. To remain stuck is to remain at the extreme of collapse. We will conclude here, then. Good day to each of you.
