    Old Scholars

    [Excerpt from Michael Speaks: The Roles for Mature and Old Souls] MEntity: OLD SCHOLAR The Old Scholar has now moved through the Mature Age that helped to reconcile the struggle between HAVING EXPERIENCE and BEING INTIMATE. During the Mature Age, the reconciliation between Experience and Intimacy is a long, often painful, road for the Scholar. Much of what is considered necessary by the Scholar for Experience is to have as "clean" an experience as possible, which often means leaving others out of the inner world that processes these experiences. QUESTION: Could you define intimacy in the sense of your meaning? MEntity: Intimacy here is meant as any form of Resonance, from sharing common ground to sex. The key being that it is INCLUSIVE, in that what is shared is not only mutual, but experienced as mutual. More than any other Role, the Scholar struggles with issues of Intimacy, of feeling connected to others, of finding common ground, and of feeling embraced. The Old Scholar has realized that Experience and Intimacy are not mutually-exclusive, but Intimacy has been put off for so long for the sake of experiments, exploration, etc. that the world of Intimacy as an Old Soul is entirely new for the most part. Because the nature of the Scholar is to observe objectively, then this search for Intimacy may often be approached from the angle of provision, in that it IF it exists, then it must be something provided for the Scholar, and not something he or she must work to generate from the self. Intimacy is such an amorphous concept to the Scholar that in the Old Soul Age, it will either feign intimacy as a means to have any kind of human contact at all, often leaving it to others to sort out the details, or to nurture that intimacy, or it will finally realize that he or she IS the source of intimacy, and begin to develop this from "the inside, out." The issue for the Scholar is often that if it is not found externally, then it is not a valid Experience, and therefore is not to be trusted. Ironically, anything that is already deemed as so amorphous that it cannot be trusted when generated within, will also be deemed suspicious when generated from others. Therefore, the key for the Old Scholar in his or her embrace of Being Intimate is to begin comprehending TRUST. Trust is a mix of anticipated results and past experiences. It is not blind, and therefore it can be used by the Scholar. When the Old Scholar begins to recognize his or her embrace of himself, he or she can then begin to embrace others. If the embrace of others is attempted before the embrace of self, then there will always be an equation that returns the Scholar back to the beginning. They are highly mathematical that way. Trust comes in as the gathering of experience grows to show the Scholar that he or she will not die because he or she reached out, and that one is not alone just because one might actually like oneself. In short, the validity of Being for the Scholar cannot be proven through others, but the validity of others can be proven through the embrace of Being.

Channel: Troy Tolley Date: March 28th 2017 Session type: Quote from a private session ------------------------------------------------------------- Being drawn to specific countries or places in resonance with previous lifetimes is not unusual for many of us, maybe even for the majority of us. What I however didn't know, was that there is an observable tendency for Old Souls to want to return to the geography of Infant lifetimes. I was discussing some other matters with Michael and just mentioned in a context that "Zimbabwe has a meaning to me somehow". There was no question posed, but Michael volunteered the information below: "It is often a strong impulse to return to grounds that were linked to the earliest lives when one grows Old in Soul Age. It becomes a meaningful 'full circle' to revisit and live a life near or directly where your Infant days were spent."

    Old Priests

FROM MICHAEL: [We] can share with you the various ways these Roles show up when Old, rather than in the stereotypical, Young ways that may have come to be generalized about these roles. Overall, as each Role grows and evolves, it becomes more like its complementary Role on its axis. This exploration of the complementary Role is not an assigned form of evolution, but one that is important to each fragment as it gains awareness and consciousness, and as such becomes an emphasis in the Old Cycle. This exploration allows for a sense of completeness and a wholeness of the Role. The Old Priest moves away from the craving to inspire on larger scales and tends to move into serial inspiration from individual to individual, or inspiration in small groups. This is because when working with inspiration on larger scales, the impact is often missed in terms of exactly what was being done with that inspiration. Long after the fact, Priests will find out that their inspiration was used for destruction and warring, rather than for higher intentions, and this becomes an important issue to explore for the Old Priest. This can lend them to become micro-managers, control-freaks, meddling, and pushy for causes that they feel are of importance, even if the individual or small group does not comprehend why. The priority for the Priest becomes the accurate implementation of his or her vision, and this can lead to the Priest becoming highly intimate with each individual, or bypassing the consideration of the individual as the medium for that priority vision.

    Old Artisans

Overall, as each Role grows and evolves, it becomes more like its complementary Role on its axis. This exploration of the complementary Role is not an assigned form of evolution, but one that is important to each fragment as it gains awareness and consciousness, and as such becomes an emphasis in the Old Cycle. This exploration allows for a sense of completeness and a wholeness of the Role. In the case of the Old Artisan, the fragment moves away from the quietude of private creativity and begins to expand that creativity into the life as its work of art. The exploration of recognition and acknowledgment become important, which is quite uncomfortable for the Artisan, but now it is craved in a way that is not easy to ignore. This craving for recognition is not in the sense of praise so much as it is a recognition of quality in the creation of the life through the choices that are made. The Old Artisan becomes distracted with appearances, and how the self and the life look to others, much in the same way that the younger Artisan is distracted with the perfection of a conventional art piece. In the younger cycles, the Artisan tends to care only if this is pleasing to the self, but in the older cycles, the Artisan can tend to include others as part of that assessment of creation. Each choice, each action, each emotion is measured and scrutinized like a brush stroke on a canvas, which can lead the Old Artisan to overcompensation, trying too hard, and presentation instead of authentic presence.

    Old Kings

This exploration allows for a sense of completeness and a wholeness of the Role. In the case of the Old King, the fragment moves away from the impersonal realm of the Kingdom and into the more intimate world of Territory. This King begins to emphasize family, quality relationships, tenderness, kindness, and loyalty. This often leaves the King Personality a bit disoriented because it is not used to working on such small scales, and this can leave the Personality in a quandary between craving such intimacy on a profound level, but never quite feeling as if it is achieved. A quiet (or not-so-quiet) distance will tend to be felt between the King and others because this level of vulnerability and closeness is awkward, despite how much it is craved. It usually takes the King several lifetimes to begin feeling and embracing intimacy to the degree that it is craved, and until then, they can often find themselves distracted with a sense of loss of direction, loss of importance, loss of position and place, and this can either help prompt the importance of intimacy, or be used as a distraction in some form of insecurity, depression, resentment, loneliness, resistance, bitterness, control issues, restlessness, often doing things just to fill the space and time.
  6. 10Q - Feb 10, 2016 MEntity: Hello to each of you. We are here, now. We can begin. MikeClev: Hello :) This question is about the topic of Generational Karma. Could you describe how being in this "Mature" Age affects that era? How will being in an "Old" Age be different? Thanks. MEntity: During an Age, it tends to be the case that all events funnel into the securing of that Age into the populace. During this Mature Age, it is a process of breaking down barriers, emotional rawness, intensity, expanding boundaries while also strengthening any that have been ignored. It is about bringing about an awareness of collectivity, consensus, negotiation, compromise, and cooperation. Events tend to force the idea that "we are in this together, whether we like it, or not." This will be met with great resistance by those who prefer their own paths that do not account for the consequences upon others. The Mature Age, then, tends to be marked by an escalating intensity that is emotional in nature and brings the population to a turning point that finds a way to soothe those in desperate fear for their individual paths while still gaining collective momentum of empowerment. If this soothing of the younger souls is not addressed, then the turning point can be quite disastrous, but the turning point will come, regardless. At some point during an Age, the turning point comes, either with resistance/pain or with surrender/pleasure. The Old Age would be marked by a building upon or up from the turning point of the Mature Age and aim for how to implement collective responsibility and freedom. It tends to be an Age where true anarchy is in effect to some degree that allows order to rise up from chaos. If the momentum continues as we can see it, this will have been well under way with the advent of digital technology, virtual reality, and augmented reality, as "the world" shifts from geographical and national differentiations to a world organized by ideas and philosophies. All boundaries and privacy issues will have long been resolved, and life will not be limited to locality. The Internet is a precursor to the Old Age. There will be those who rise and fight against this by claiming that the quality of life is reduced by emphasizing digital interaction, but this will be met by the Old Age in the same way one might feared that the telephone would remove the necessity for actual contact, or that the use of digital music somehow cannot carry the experience of an actual concert. It will always be true that actual contact is important, but to expand beyond boundaries of geography and locality to form "nations" based in ideas and philosophies rather than territories is a natural progression. We can continue elaborating, but we know there are other questions. MikeClev: Thank you :) Evelin: Hello, Michael! Michael, you told me: "If we were to put a number to what is knowable and what is known in terms of Astronomy and Space, on a scale of 1 to 100, Humans are at 2." On the same 1 to 100 scale, what would be the number of what is known to Humans about 1) our Solar system 2) (how) the Sun (works), 3) what influences Earth's tectonics? MEntity: In terms of the Solar System, we would put the knowledge at 5. In terms of how the Sun works, we would put this at 6. In terms of Tectonics, we would put this at 10. Evelin: Lovely... room for growth! Thank you. MEntity: Very much so. Colleen: Hi Michael. What was the motive for the murder of Robert F. Kennedy in 1968? Who was behind it? MEntity: This was fairly straight-forward and not as mysterious in motivation. This was motivated by a group who felt betrayed by America and this was their attempt to make a point, to send a message, to try to get across the anger and desperation that was unfolding in the politics and conflicts that were affecting them. The fragment known to have committed the assassination was fairly forthright and open about his motivations, and we do not see these as scripted by force or by manipulation, other than in terms of how a group can bring influence when sharing in an emotion and pain. Colleen: So Sirhan Sirhan was part of the conspiracy. He claims he has no memory of the event. MEntity: The group has long since disbanded or members dead, but that anger that fueled this group exists even into today. This is not uncommon for those who are fueled by "crimes of passion," and this is included in that. Colleen: Was he the only shooter? MEntity: Once the buildup of intensity, anger, hatred, frustration, fear, etc. is released and has landed in some catastrophic way, the mind is suddenly with a void that was once filled with this singular objective. AnnH: Wow. MEntity: That is then either experienced as loss of memory, or is retroactively filled with a narrative that is fantasy or shaped from input of others. The fragment in question was not the only one. Three were moving in for the best opportunity. Depending on various parallels, each of these three or a combination caused the death. AnnH: So this happened in a number of parallels? MEntity: More that it generated various parallels. So, technically, yes. AnnH: OK Colleen: Thanks. PeterK: I am considering the field of virtual reality as a possible career direction, particularly in combination with data visualization and mobile devices. What advances in virtual reality are humans likely to achieve over the next ten years? MEntity: If there is no collapse, this industry is set to exponentially grow beyond what is in the general imagination at this time. Augmented and Virtual Reality is one of the "great solutions" that not only help to resolve the issues of resources and climate change, but also to herald a radical shift toward the Resource-based Economy. In ten years, if the patterns remain as we can see them now, your hardware will move from external and clunky to integrated, wearable, and neurologically powered. CLARIFICATION: this is not to say it will reach that state within the 10 years, but that it will be ever clearer that it is moving in that direction and feasible. It is a viable career. PeterK: Thank you very much. AnnH: This is personal which I hope can be enlarged into general. The topic could be Dreaming of the Dead. I have often dreamed of my late Task Companion parents who died in 2000 and 2004. In the past few years, I have dreamed of them often as being separated/divorced and having no contact with each other. Very different than their recent incarnated relationship. Recently in dreams it seems my mother has rejected all of her just past family. How do I go about understanding and resolving the choices and changes that those who I’ve known in this life have made now that they are no longer incarnate? What is up with these dreams of the dead? AnnH: Added: My dreaming self has been hurt by my mother's rejection. It's rather tedious. MEntity: In response to the first question: you are already working on that resolution, but the only missing element is your ACTIVE imagination. Currently, your passive imagination is playing out various scenarios, anxieties, fears, upturned memories, etc. These are rising up because they may be speaking to old, forgotten, or fantasy wounds that you can heal or fix by using your active imagination. Your active imagination requires you to correct your memories, to actively pull up clarification, or to actively replay the scenarios with different, preferred outcomes. For example: If you dream that your mother rejects you and this is painful, it may speak to when you actually did feel rejected, however subconscious or conscious that experience might have been, or it may speak to your grief of missing her but not having any way to truly hear from her to console you as you need mothering. AnnH: Or both :) MEntity: This is your passive imagination helping to bring to the surface that which your active imagination can heal. Using your active imagination is no less significant than your passive imagination. Imagine her presence, her best moments of loving, your moments of joy, your memories of touch and kindness and understanding when she was not at her best, and/or own your current need for mothering by taking care of yourself with obvious nurturing and kindness instead of neglect or escape. In short, you have control over the impact of experiences such as this by understanding that your passive imagination informs you, and your active imagination can help you. AnnH: Yes, thank you.
