  1. March 2, 2000 Troy Tolley, Channel Conscious Connection to Essence 3 of 3 Note: This series begins with Michael Speaks -- Conscious Connection to Essence (1 of 3) [Michael_Entity] Hello to all. We are here. One moment. In our sharing with you our various perspectives of what is and isn’t being conscious of Essence, we believe a practical examination of each Essence Role would be beneficial. In our examination we will share what we perceive are the Maya (or Great Lesson) of that particular role and a more ‘organic’ approach to determining what might be considered rejection of Essence or what might be considered acceptance of Essence. We will note here that the positive and negative poles of the Essence ARE NOT indications of being conscious or accepting of Essence. A fragment in the Negative Poles is just as potentially “in Essence” as a fragment in the positive poles, at least in terms of experiencing its life. What we have sought to exchange with you is what it means to reject Essence or accept Essence as part of your primary being. Those who reject Essence are in deep isolation and a myriad of other traumatic or deteriorating experiences, regardless of how together their life appears or how wonderful their work and relationships and successes are. Those who are accepting and conscious of Essence usually have the enthusiasm to ‘make the best of everything’, even in the midst of what ‘should’ be devastating. Poverty, drama, accidents, horror are NOT signs of disconnection from Essence, they are merely experiences. A positive pole role can still be at its apparent ‘best’ yet still be disconnected from Essence. A negative pole role can be as difficult and trying as expected, and be conscious. The keys are in the act of Decisions and CHOICES. In the moments of your darkest despair, if you can “look up” and recognize that this space is simply where you are at the moment, even if you seek no resolution beyond that realization, half of your battle is completed. When you say “yes, this is where I am right now, I know I could do something but I do not feel like it right now”, you have granted yourself an open door to Essence. Acknowledging your state of mind, your resistance, your struggles, etc. are in that very moment your decision and choice to allow or change, you become immediately centered and present, regardless of your choice in either direction. This will immediately and in that moment connect you consciously to Essence. This does not mean your mood or situation will magically remove itself from your life, but you have opened your world and option for greater probabilities by that single choice, a millionfold. Besides your initial acknowledgment that you may have dropped your connection to Essence, we will say that the most powerful and profound choice you can make next is to ASK FOR HELP. The body is not designed to sustain animation and life without connection to Essence for any extended period of time once sentience has moved in. We want to note at this point that there is no REAL disconnection from Essence; we merely use these terms for convenience, even the term ‘rejection’ is inaccurate in light of the truth, but these terms capture the experience and we will continue to use them with this understanding. We will begin now with each Essence, but first, we will pause for a few questions, if there are any, about what we have shared thus far. [nemo999] What are the most common states of mind? Pleasure, pain, depression, sadness, happiness, attention, boredom … are these states of mind or are they illusion? [Michael_Entity] This set of descriptions are only conveniences to describe whatever a person interprets as their reality in the moment. They are highly subjective and can refer to either illusions or what you have called ‘states of mind.’ They are all ‘real’ to a person experiencing. The definition of ‘illusion,’ or Maya as we prefer, is in the apparent indulgence in a ‘truth’ that is subjectively inappropriate for the fragment. There are some Maya that are shared collectively, some that are individual. Despite the fact that Personal Truth will render all of these experiences “real”, we will share a little of our perception. Depression from your list can be considered a collective ‘illusion,’ and one that is a deep indulgence in Maya, though very ‘real’ when inside of it. Depression is a resigned stance toward the life, an emotional suicide based on one or more of the Chief Features. This is not a judgment. When one is in Depression, we differentiate this from Grief. Depression is literally the consistent and insistent effort to reject the life. If Depression is being experienced, acknowledge that you are where you are in your experience, and ask for help. Depression is one of many Maya that creates a situation where intervention from outside forces is required. Pain from your list can be either Maya or “real”, but is always a symptom of resistance or friction, which we do not see as inherently good or bad, merely resistance to some Growth. Pleasure is always a symptom of higher awareness and connection to Essence. Sadness can be either, though if tears are involved, recognition of a truth on some level is occurring. If there are no tears, this is most likely a form of Depression. Boredom is always a symptom of Maya and is a literal self-lie to remove responsibility. When Boredom is indulged in, you are living in a space of time that was created from want of “having more time”, then when it arrives, you seek to fill it. This all happens because creation on the Physical Plane is denser and slower, therefore the space and time sought “shows up”, but sometimes out of synch with your faster moving mind. Making a note that Boredom is a sign of forgetting your original intentions can help make more of that time. It is not required, of course, that you continue with your original intentions, but release the judgments about EXPERIENCING the slowing of time and take a moment to stop. When we say this is a self-lie to remove responsibility, we mean this in terms of being able to respond, not in terms of discipline. [Azure362] What happens when one fragment is deriving pleasure from another fragment’s pain? Here is where I get confused. This encompasses all these levels, personal or collective, as in when society feels some sort of pleasure at putting some fragment to death, as in capitol punishment. So this would not be true connection to Essence then? So it is safe to say that some pleasures are of Maya? [Michael_Entity] That is difficult to reconcile within the confines of the Physical Plane. We do not expect you to reconcile that, nor do we think it can be. Sometimes events are not understandable by Personality. We will say, however, that True pleasure is rarely experienced at the expense of another, unless both Essences involved have a mutual agreement for something that is otherwise seen as horrific. We will define true pleasure as being that which retains the recognition of the choice of others. If the choice of other is interfered with, then this cannot be true pleasure, it is only stimulation. And, no, it is not correct to say some pleasures are of Maya. Pleasure that interferes with the life, path, or choice of another is stimulation, not true pleasure. [Azure362] And then it is true pleasure that connects to Essence? I think I am getting it. Sorry, lol, but I see some fragments getting pleasure out of stimulation as such ? [Michael_Entity] Consider the image of a person gratified by eating a chocolate bar versus that of one being gratified by stealing the chocolate from a child. You will most likely intuit the difference. It is not complex when examined and the differences between self-stimulation and true pleasure are glaring. Again, the difference is in the lack of interference of choice in another. Our system of Personality and Essence is comparatively quite simple and each part of the system is dynamically linked to other parts, leading to what many have called Michael Math. Each role, attitude, CF, center, etc. are all linked by their axis. For instance, the Ordinal Inspiration will have re-evaluation, reserve, stoic, emotional, self-deprecation, and lunar body types, along with the Server, and the attributes of the number one. Therefore, as we discuss each role tonight in its disconnection from Essence, you might also recognize in that disconnection a link to that role’s inherent Chief Feature. In this instance, though, we might call it “The Great Lesson”. This is not a term we prefer, but it is one our channel found appropriate and we do not disagree, though more creative ways of seeing this will surely come from our sharing with you. Therefore, each Essence will have its “Great Lesson” and this ‘lesson’ will always recur each lifetime in some form. There will be no lifetime that does not struggle with this ‘lesson’, however briefly. Regardless of the dynamics of personality and its chosen emphasis of challenge, the Essence IN ITSELF has its challenges, though it is seen from a very different perspective and eagerly played with. This results from Essence “forgetting” the inherent challenges of the physical plane while being Astral. The body has to regain consciousness each lifetime regardless of soul age and seeks to grow back into the soul age last reached in the previous life. We will also note here that each of these scenarios we might mention in regard to the Roles can be applied to each of you since you may relate it to your own CF that then relates to the Role we are describing. Each Role and CF relates to a Chakra, or Center, and this can also lead to connections. We suggest you only focus on your Role for now, figuring in the consideration as to when or whether you are conscious and accepting of Essence, regardless of these extrapolations. We will begin with the SERVER. For now, we will examine the basics. When a Server is conscious and connected to Essence, regardless of its struggles and fears in the life, its Great Lesson is in discovering that it can take care of other things, nurture them, help them, be tremendously effective in catering to the nuances of needs in another all the while being able to care for self. The Server connected to Essence and conscious of that connection chooses to take care of itself no matter what is happening in the life, knowing inherently that this is the only way to truly be successful in any endeavor. The Server who is not connected to Essence chooses not only to slack in its care of self, but loses its enthusiasm to seek to care for others. This Server will seek in its universe and emphasize in its universe any and all ways to prove that things are not loving, that there is discord and that their own lives are not making a difference. They are self-deprecation, manifest. This Server has its roots in only emphasizing its own and all others inadequacy, or lack of being. This can be overt or subtle, but it will show. Their keys to bringing back a conscious connection to Essence (besides the first vital two steps, recognizing choice for where you are, and then asking for help), is in doing anything physically stimulating. Running, jogging, going dancing, anything with dirt and the ground, and getting a massage. Anything that allows contact PHYSICALLY with what is considered the “outside world” that provides data without judgment. The SERVER more than any other Role can use the past as their world and choose to gauge everything within that context, therefore, it is successful to release the past and choose experiences that bring the Server more “presence.” Next we will comment on the ARTISAN. The Artisan who is conscious of and connected to Essence is one that has learned to allow happiness into the life. This may seem deceptively simple and universally applicable, but any true Artisan can tell you that it is one of their Great Lessons to learn to like receiving and indulging in the pleasures of this world. An Artisan who is connected and conscious with Essence has true joy and enthusiasm for the life, allowing whatever levels of prosperity and abundance are appropriate at that moment. They have admitted to themselves what they wanted, what they needed, and they are allowing themselves to have it, to create it. The Artisan that is disconnected or rejecting of Essence feels their needs are too great, that they will never get what they deserve or are not worth the life used on them. Artisans are clever in their disconnection from Essence because they have helped to construct a culture that supports it. It plays on other fragments, deriving from them false compassion and pity, but nothing of value to make the life seem “worth it.” The Artisan disconnected from Essence is self-destruction, manifest. They have determined that they are not worth what they want. The Artisan can endure for years and years in this state, far longer than any other role disconnected from Essence, because this state eventually requires others to reach out and care for them, even if they are not making changes, themselves. Eventually, the Great Lesson is learned and the life is transformed. At some point, and probably more dramatically than any other role, a shift in the life occurs. This brings the Artisan into a space that says YES to life, to what it wants, recognizes its needs and says they are worth pursing it for. Ways for the Artisan to connect to Essence in times of recognized disconnection are through any form of artistic expression, but most especially painting or sculpting, making a concerted effort to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE. They can purchase things that feel fun are usually labeled “trivial”, interact with small animals, or dance privately to music. Next we will comment on the WARRIOR. The Warrior when connected and conscious with Essence finds itself in many a challenge against or within the life where there appear to be imbalances. A Warrior that is Conscious recognizes that their very nature requires them to live intentionally and with purpose of action. This means, regardless of its tediousness or turbulence, they are always out to conquer something. The Warrior connected to Essence finds itself in many situations of chaos and disorder as a means to exercise and emphasize what is and isn’t Power or Empowering. More than any other role they are more perpetually in crisis or challenge because this is truly where their “heart” lies. It may not be acceptable or as “easy” as other roles’ experiences or what the culture supports, but it is their world and it is vital. The symptoms of a Warrior connected to Essence can most likely be seen in gauging the strengths of their relationships. The Warrior disconnected or rejecting Essence feels that their life is one unrolling world of chaos and they determine they are just ‘lucky’ for what they have, relinquishing effort to make a path. More than any other role, even if arguably, the Warrior that is disconnected from Essence spends it life seeking approval and recognition, while consistently remaining in the shadows. The disconnected Warrior lays low, evades conflict, and depends on others heavily. The disconnected Warrior has a deep sense that at some point it needs to do or be something specific in order to be loved or recognized. Most of the time, this Warrior has no idea what that “something specific” is and will continue to close its circle of life down until it learns to make choices for itself, grasping that they are in control of their lives; this is their Great Lesson. The disconnected Warrior is Martyrdom manifest. This is another role that can regain connection to Essence by incorporating or balancing with heavy physical activity. Making contact with life in a physical manner that brings data into the body emphasizing security and control, such as Tai Chi or the Alexander Technique, a sport that requires coordination, or can all bring the Essence back into the picture. Asking to be held, or holding someone important can help, as well. We will address the SCHOLAR now. The Scholar that is connected to Essence and conscious has learned its Great Lesson, which revolves around the reality of shared love. This Scholar has realized with a great amount of profundity that they will not love another until they have sought to love themselves. As we have said, there are many of these Role symptoms you all may find applicable, but for each Role, you will see they are a deeper lesson when specifically considered. All other Roles have an “easier” time at loving and being loved than the Scholar does. The Scholar who is connected to Essence has realized they are whole and complete, that they like themselves and have decided to trust and open their hearts to their life. They recognize that ALL aspects of life are capable of being loved, even themselves and all the hard times passed through. When the Scholar is disconnected or rejecting of Essence, they do their best to ignore their lives, to resist the examination that not everything is fine. This Scholar refuses to examine their vulnerabilities and have not dealt with their shadow feelings, resulting in acts of dominance or power struggles. They have never experienced intimacy of any depth due to these things. They become adept at arguing their points, ignoring the pains of their past, destroying or deteriorating any relationship or person whom touches too closely too personal areas of pain and sensation. They are Stubbornness manifest. They, more than any other Role, truly fear what is called love. The disconnected Scholar can still bring in a definite resource of love into their lives, but this is usually sought only out of need for refuge, a place to securely hold up the walls around their own hearts. The Scholar disconnected from Essence can be one of the most painful and emotionally tormenting of all exchanges for someone trying to love them. Some suggestions for bringing more of Essence in might be to talk to children about their perspective on life, actually play with children or play on a child’s playground. Seeking laughter of any kind brings Essence immediately back in for a Scholar. Seeking the experience of the aroma and visuals of botanical gardens or observing the ocean can help, or having flowers within visual and olfactory range. We will address the SAGE now. The Sage in connection to Essence is the most obvious and closest to what the positive pole describes. They are TALKING. The Sage connected to Essence, regardless of what they are communicating, is at least communicating. They seek to express any and all feelings and thoughts as a means for communication. When they are angry, you know it, when they are sad, you know it, when they are happy, you know it; they will gladly tell you and tell everyone else. The Sage who is disconnected from Essence becomes silent. Of all the roles, the Sage is the most tender and fragile of all roles. We do not imply this negatively. This is simply because they are the “children” of our universe, and no physical age or soul age will ever change this. It is their “job”. As this Role pertains to communication, children, and the Intellectual Center or fifth (Throat) Chakra, you can see the fragility in a child who has been driven or shunned into silence, when the child hangs its head to cover the vulnerable communication center. This can be reflected in all ages of a Sage, as well. When a Sage has gone silent they are rejecting Essence, losing consciousness. In fact, forms of silence can range through all forms of suppression. This means this Role more than most is susceptible to addictions and substance abuses, anything to redirect the energies from having to address what wants to be said. They are Greed manifest, as they fixate on something they feel they do not have enough of, and remain struggling to attain this at the expense of life and self. Their Great Lesson is in realizing their expression and feelings are important, that what they have to say about what they are experiencing is important to someone, even if this starts out being just themselves. Ways for the Sage to regain consciousness and connection are through writing letters, reading personal journal entries to someone who will listen, sharing a personal story or poetry, trusting what you feel about a person when you first meet them, and singing out loud. We will address the PRIEST now. The Priest who has a connection to Essence realizes that life is full of many truths and each experience has its own truth. More than any other role, this role when connected to Essence has a deep and profound trust in life, knowing with true perception how to pass through the next moments and lead others through those confusions in life as well. Life is intuitively navigated. When disconnected, this Essence lives in a world of concepts and ideas, rational thinking and over-analysis. This would normally seem harmless, but the Priest disconnected from Essence enforces these rationales, ideas, and over-analysis to the point of destroying the life or misleading others as a means for false validation of beliefs. They lose their ability to adapt to the nuances of life and seek only to remain in a predefined, structured, and thought out picture of life. This removes their ability to intuit and trust in life, but creates severe judgment and enforcement of fear. This Role more than any other Role can make a lie become a profound but false truth about themselves, life, or others. They are Arrogance manifest. To help bring the Priest back into connection, we suggest to this Role more than any other to literally make time to communicate to what you consider to be your higher self, every day. We also suggest purchasing or making a set of cards with inspirational affirmations or a book of quotes that can be a “message” or “thought for the day”, or whenever in need, to help lend insight from someplace beyond analysis. And finally the KING, we will comment on. The King who has a connection to Essence is keenly aware of the fact of all possibilities, a sense of connection to all of its life. The King connected to Essence does not just live the life, it IS the life as well. This King recognizes that it is the source of all of its life, through choice, creation, and from even higher. This King sees no separation based on time or space, but only the beautiful unfolding of a life as perfect, no matter what. They do not judge the life, themselves, or others for their position in it, but instead recognizes itself in everything around it. This King has dealt with what might be called its “dark side” and now sees through that state in others, recognizing all the illusions. Limitation is never seen as an obstacle, but an important aspect of life to help direct growth. A King who has rejected Essence becomes highly separated from its life, separated within itself, and from others. Its Great Lesson is in acknowledging they are a PART of everything and everyone, not APART. This King is caught in circles of self-gratification and simple distraction for stimulation. They feel they alone are completely responsible for all achievements in life and resist any help in any form, in fact, sometimes violently. This King rejects people outright due to imperfections reflected from self and creates enormous amounts of Space and Time between those who are their most powerful support. They are Impatience manifest. This King who is rejecting of Essence will forever remain in a circle of development since they allow no other influences or support into their lives. Ways for a King to bring back a sense of connection to Essence is through visiting spiritual temples for moments of quiet and reflection, watching or reading information shared by spiritual leaders they resonate with. They can make changes in the life that reflects a commitment to the acknowledgement of the life force in all others, such as through vegetarianism or volunteer work. More than any other Role, we would have to doubly emphasize that this Role could benefit from ASKING FOR HELP. We will conclude here. MEntity: Today we are asked to speak on the subject of the Goals, with an emphasis on each of you and how you, individually, are fulfilling your Goals. MEntity: Keep in mind that a Goal is exactly that. It is a Goal. However, like many goals, the mark will always continue to move exponentially as the aim continues. There is never a finish line for a conceptual goal. MEntity: There tangible goals and there are conceptual goals. MEntity: Tangible goals are always fueled by conceptual goals, and conceptual goals are always reached through tangible goals. MEntity: Our system emphasizes the Conceptual Goal, or abstract Goal, which is more like a state to achieve within the lifetime to some satisfaction. MEntity: So, for example, the Goal of Growth will never be reached within a lifetime, except in terms of how satisfying the path is to the individual aiming for Growth. MEntity: Though Goals never describe the Personality, they are inherent in the biology of a Personality because it is a part of the Overleaves. MEntity: The reason Goals never describe the Personality is because they are Goals. They are not already achieved. They are not already an inherent state for that individual. MEntity: However, the motivation is inherent, which means that by understanding one's Goal, one can understand nearly every aspect of the life and why it is generated as an experience. MEntity: For every Goal, there are what we might describe as 7 "versions" or states to describe where one is in aiming for that Goal. MEntity: These 7 versions are not necessarily linear, and are the same across lifetimes, Soul Ages, Levels, and Personalities. In other words, an Infant Soul in its first lifetime might see all of these versions of a Goal. MEntity: One cannot reject the Goal. One can only achieve its various states, and be aiming from the positive or negative poles. MEntity: So someone in Acceptance is never NOT working on Acceptance. MEntity: No matter what your Goal, here are the 7 versions/states: MEntity: DEFAULT - Patterns/Resistance MEntity: This is the least one has to think, notice, or feel about his or her Goal. The Default. MEntity: Experiences are gathered and Essence will sort them out, later. MEntity: By Default, there will be patterns generated in the life because of the Goal, and those patterns may or may not be noticed, but sometimes they will be resisted. MEntity: When there is resistance, there is pain. MEntity: The life "just happens" to bring patterns of Acceptance, Growth, Flow, etc. and one navigates this, or fights it. MEntity: When one experiences the life as a constant state of pain for any of the bodies, the Goal is probably functioning in a Default state. MEntity: This is the least-conscious means of navigation. MEntity: This is not a "bad" thing, but a reality of the spectrum of awareness one is. MEntity: DECISIONS - direction/denial MEntity: The next version of a Goal begins to include more conscious awareness in how to navigate through the Default patterns. This is done through DECISIONS. One begins to notice that one can decide from within those patterns. This is where one begins to learn to say no to a direction. All fragments learn to say no before learning to say yes. MEntity: This is not the same thing as Choice. We will return to the concept of Choice later. MEntity: Decisions pave the paths to Choice. MEntity: So on the positive side of this, one learns to say no so as to bring more consciousness to one's direction, but some may fall into the pattern of saying no, altogether, completely denying one's patterns in the life. MEntity: When one finds that he or she is in a constant state of NO that precludes experiences, then he or she is probably in this version of his or her Goal. MEntity: DIFFERENCE – foresight/apathy MEntity: This is when one begins to notice the patterns of the life in a way that brings about a sense that one can make a difference in those patterns. This is not just about stopping a direction, but changing it. MEntity: This brings about a sense of the future, planning, considering consequences. Where Decisions feel as if one is looking at directions where there is a branch in the path, DIFFERENCE begins to create those branches. MEntity: This is the first version of the Goal where one begins to feel responsible for the path and the state of the Goal. MEntity: This can be a bit overwhelming and the Personality can check out from all this responsibility by falling into Apathy. MEntity: This is where it is presumed that "what happens, happens" or "it is God's will," or in more new age terms, "leave it up to the universe." MEntity: These are forms of Apathy. MEntity: They may not always look like that, because the words can seem poetic or acknowledging, but they are a removal of one's responsibility from creation. MEntity: EFFORT - Willingness/Limbo MEntity: This is the version of the Goal where the patterns slow tremendously without the conscious participation of the Personality. MEntity: Experiences do not come, patterns are repetitive, familiar, and there is very little making its way into the life that is "new." MEntity: For the first time, the Goal requires your participation for generation of experiences. MEntity: This means one must be Willing to make the Effort, to actively generate experiences. Many find this daunting and will fall into familiar patterns that bring very little to the life in terms of experiences, and the life falls into Limbo. MEntity: SHARING - Intimacy/Conflict MEntity: This is the first version of the Goal where one begins to gravitate, either intentionally or unintentionally, toward those who share in the same Goal. MEntity: Finding common ground in experiences helps to bring Intimacy. The Goal, then, becomes a playground of sorts for two or more to share in. MEntity: However, this can also come with a great investment in one's Goal so that one loses the capacity to relate to others who have different Goals, or even to those who are not approaching your Goal in the same way. MEntity: This leads to Conflict, then. MEntity: Some of the greatest conflicts can come among those who share in the same Goal. MEntity: CHALLENGE - Enthusiasm/Frustration MEntity: This is the first time your Goal begins to truly be challenged by external forces. MEntity: You probably own your Goal at this point, know its patterns, are willing, sharing, etc, but then "everything" seems to get in the way. MEntity: This is the first time it is not "easy" to reach some sense of accomplishment of your Goal. MEntity: It is no longer just a default pattern that challenges your Goal, but it is pattern that seems to derail you from any sense of direction related to fulfilling your Goal. MEntity: On the positive side of this, it is optimism and enthusiasm that keeps one aiming for the Goal. Obstacles are embraced as a means of reaching a new level of the Goal, not as a means of derailment. MEntity: On the negative side of this, Frustration might come, feeling defeated, depressed, angry, and assuming that nothing you do can help. MEntity: Rather than negotiate your path and enlist creativity, you just keep doing the same things over and over and expecting different experiences/results. MEntity: CHOICE - Creation/Allowance MEntity: Now your Goal is in a state of Choice. You know your decisions pave the path to your choices, you own your choices that create your experience, and you utilize creativity for any obstacles, difficulties, challenges, etc. MEntity: Allowance is a passive form of Choice in that one recognizes that one may actually not have a choice at all times, and knows this, and is okay with this, because choice is active where it can be. MEntity: Allowance can fall into states of laziness, but consciousness is so present at this point that, even if the laziness is not preferred, it is owned as a choice. MEntity: While it is true that these versions/states are not sequential, they do build upon one another, but one can be in any of these versions at any time. Once you reach CHOICE does not mean you do not fall back into DEFAULT, for instance. This is because the Personality is reset every single lifetime. It is new. It is not a progression. The Personality is designed from progression of Essence, and the more conscious the Personality, the more Essence is involved in the life, so there is evolution, but the Personality can "go backwards," unlike Essence. MEntity: It is difficult to go backwards, even for Personality, but it can happen, and does. MEntity: Often. MEntity: It becomes more and more difficult the older one's Soul Age. MEntity: We will open the queue now for your questions regarding what we have shared so far, and ask each of you to share where you feel you may be in your own version of your Goal. MEntity: QUEUE NOW OPEN Janet: At one point you told me that 12 decisions can lead to a choice that creates a branching or pivotal point in the life. Is there any connection between these states and that correlation to the number 12 Janet: And I think I have reached at least SHARING but CHOICE seems to match also. MEntity: Janet, the 12 Decisions that lead to Choice describes how the pattern of choice is generated in any aspect of the life. The versions of the Goal describe how one progresses in the capacity to choose relative to the Goal; from a passive/less-conscious approach to the Goal to a more active/conscious approach. MEntity: In other words, the 12 decisions to choice will always be in effect, with or without consciousness or active awareness. MEntity: So the description of the versions of the Goal describe a kind of process of ownership of decisions and choices relative to the Goal/experiences. GeraldineB: Since I live with deteriorating joint damage, osteo-arthritis, which seems to be hereditary, too, I don't see the correlation between your statement “When one experiences the life as a constant state of pain for any of the bodies, the Goal is probably functioning in a Default state,” and my current state in using Discrimination. MEntity: We could be clearer in adding "OR the Goal has probably functioned in a default state for a great length of time." When there is chronic pain, it is always indicative of great resistance to "something," and this is often related to experiences generated by the default patterns of the Goal. MEntity: The denser the pain, the more time was likely involved. GeraldineB: Was I experiencing Discrimination more as rejection for a long time? MEntity: Emotional and Physical pain can be results of years of patterns and take as many years to reverse or release these. Intellectual or Spiritual pain can come and go rather quickly and is often more reflective of more local experiences of the Personality in time. MEntity: Oh, yes, Geraldine. Rejection and Rejecting was default for great lengths of time. GeraldineB: And, while I can't see the exact causative patterns right now, I know I didn't finish either my 4th IM or 5th IM in positive poles until into my 60s GeraldineB: thank you -- will cogitate on this MEntity: Keep this in mind: your physical pain is physical pain now. It can help for you to understand what led to this chronic pain, but once it is physical, it is valid to simply deal with it in physical terms. That is why it becomes physical: to give tangibility to the intangible that was difficult to manage at the time. GeraldineB: OH!! MEntity: Your treatments, relief, management are exactly relevant to the past. MEntity: One does not need to unbury ancient patterns as a means to deal with current pain. MEntity: The current pain is a symbolic language that speaks of that pain and all you need to know about it. GeraldineB: Pain = symbolic language? MEntity: We are not saying this to discourage any deeper review, but there is a point to the pain. It is here, now. That is where you would want to be, too. GeraldineB: As a digression, is this also true for all of the pain Troy suffers? MEntity: Yes, pain is a language of the body. It always speaks of one's resistance on some level. Even if that resistance is only that the skin resisted a puncture. MEntity: The more chronic the pain, the greater the patterns of which that pain speaks. MEntity: Yes, Troy is not exempt, of course. His pain is relative to lack of nurturing. This is often represented by his lack of intake of water. Lack of water and hydration generates most of his issues, and these speak to his resistance to allowing care. It does not matter that he can consciously embrace the idea. It is a pattern from long ago that speaks to the "most important" person MEntity: in his life torturing him, and so he carries this forth in an insidious way through neglecting intake of water, a life force for the body. MEntity: We cannot speak further on this subject at the moment. Claire2: I think I am at Challenge, fluctuating between Enthusiasm and Frustration. Lately, I am very aware of choosing "not" to let myself become frustrated, but am struggling to maintain my Enthusiasm. I'm becoming very aware of Choice, but don't always know what my choices are. MEntity: Claire, this is an important question. If one finds he or she is in a negative version of the Goal, solutions can be found in the "previous" version. MEntity: In this case, returning to SHARING is vital. MEntity: You would want to reach out, bond, generate and nurture intimacy with others. Your enthusiasm would come from this challenge, this return to something you miss, which is intimacy. MEntity: If you feel that intimacy is already a part of the life, then you can turn to that as place for your enthusiasm. Just enjoy being with those close to you. This would help you to keep your enthusiasm up, your frustration down, and keep your mind open and creative for when you do see other choices. MEntity: If you feel that Sharing/intimacy is missing, then let that be where you focus yourself as a challenge. MEntity: Find that. Create that. Allow that. Nurture that. Claire2: Yes, thank you, Michael. This is valid advice. KittyMac: I'm still coming to know and understand the Goal of Discrimination, both in general and in my own life. I recognize myself in most of the 7 stages you describe so I can't necessarily tell where I am right now. Is it possible to be all over the place like that? KittyMac: Or am I just blinding myself to seeing where I really am? MEntity: We think you may enjoy the truth that "yes" is true to both of your questions. KittyMac: LOL Yes, I enjoy the truth of that answer. So how can one best unblind oneself? MEntity: First, this is not uncommon for those in Discrimination. Discrimination can be described as being all about the Personality learning how to choose, refining the choices, and most importantly, liking the choices. So when one has not reached a certain degree of refinement of choice, then all choices/directions look valid and relevant. So the spectrum of versions of the Goal look like the spectrum that is you as you learn to choose and refine choices. Discrimination is about learning to say No, and meaning it. Not just saying No to say No. So Discrimination can find she says Yes to everything until then. MEntity: But this sense of relevance to all versions of the Goal can also be a symptom of one being in the state of EFFORT. MEntity: When one is in Effort, she is looking in all directions for guidance, consideration, input, insight, etc. so that the Willingness can be put behind the Effort. Until then, Limbo can be like being scattered and spread thin among the various states. KittyMac: Now that sounds recognizable. MEntity: When you put in the Effort, you would automatically snap into a direction that would look more like movement toward your Goal. MEntity: However, with all of that being said, it is still true that one would find relevance and familiarity with all versions of a Goal if one has been alive and conscious long enough. MEntity: CONTINUING... MEntity: Because each of you can move around these versions of your Goal, it is helpful to understand all versions, and then just note where you are. As described to Claire, if you find that you are in the negative pole of your version of the Goal, look to the previous version for insight into how to move yourself back into a sense of progress. MEntity: If you find you are in the negative version of Default, circle back around to CHOICE and dance between Creation and Allowing as a means to move you out of resistance. Bobby: oh so you had to go and use the "d" word, didn't ya? ;-) MEntity: Your "homework" then is to not just explore this in terms of your own approach to your Goal, but look around your world to see if your understanding of versions of Goals can help you understand people in your life, your world. MEntity: We made our statement. We think each of you are fairly clear on where you might be at any given time, and since these fluctuate, and is not particularly a progression where one settles, it makes more sense for you to assess this on your own. We know Troy invited us to comment on where each of you are in your Goal, but he did not know that we would describe this process as non-static and less-linear. MEntity: We can take your questions. Maureen: I’ve been having a really hard time “accepting” or processing my husband’s state of health and his eventual decline and death. My “usual” anxiety levels have risen sharply and depression has shown up. I think I have been all over the map but have recently (I think) moved into CHALLENGE. I want to break free of the CHALLENGE of the situation and move into CHOICE within Maureen: my Goal of Acceptance. I want to move into a state of True Acceptance and not resist what is inevitable, for all of us, in life. I got a clear message a few weeks ago while I was driving. I heard: Anxiety is resistance. MEntity: First, it is important to note that where one is in one's Goal is where one is. It is not a matter of escaping one version to move to another. You are in a version of your Goal because that is the area you are working on, or how you are working on that Goal. Challenge is exactly where you are because you are amid great challenge. Embracing that challenge is the only way through. MEntity: You are not in a bad place because you are challenged. In addition to that, if you find you are in the negative version of Challenge, then it speaks to your need to return to Intimacy, to reach out, to connect, to be closer to someone. You are right on track with this. MEntity: Having difficulty "accepting" the pain, illness, or death of a loved one is not a weakness. It is life. It is natural. These are challenges no matter where one is in regard to a Goal. MEntity: You are overshooting when you aim to accept death, pain, and illness. These do not require your acceptance. They are of no benefit or peace to you or to the concept for you to accept these. MEntity: Only consciousness need be accepted. MEntity: Whether in the form of sentience, loved ones, or any creature of reason or feeling. MEntity: Accept your loved one. Your mate. Accept YOU. The rest takes care of itself. MEntity: "Anxiety is resistance," is true, but to expand upon that, anxiety is resistance to, or denial of, trust. MEntity: Anxiety is the pain of distrust. MEntity: Life is like a person to those who love it. MEntity: So when life hurts a loved one, or the self, it is a shock, it feels personal, it triggers one to distrust that "person" now. MEntity: YOU have experienced life. That is all you have ever experienced. YOU have never experienced death. You cannot trust death. You have no experience with death. Why would you ever force yourself to trust something without experience. Life is what you trust. You know it well. It does not matter that your Essence has had hundreds of incarnations. Each incarnation only knows life until it dies. It only knows death very briefly. MEntity: Life has not betrayed you. It can still be trusted. But death will come. It is as inevitable as breathing is for living. The only way you can shift into a trust of death is to know that death is to Essence as breathing is to the Personality. Maureen: Thank you. MEntity: You know Essence. You are a part of Essence. You can trust Essence. And, eventually, it takes its breath. It must breathe to live. It is how you are alive, and why you will die. But it is also how and why you will never end. MEntity: We know death and loss is painful. We did not forget. But we can assure you that, while there is no "heaven" in any literal sense, and while the afterlife is less romantic than the imagination might wish for it to be, "you" continue. We are an integrated entity with millions of Personalities milling about among us. They do not go away. Integration is not the same thing as disintegration. MEntity: However, while one is living. Live. While a loved one who is ill is alive, let him or her live. Whatever that means, and that might mean something terrible or beautiful. That is life. Return your trust to life, and you will find your trust returning to your loved one, yourself, Essence, and existence. MEntity: That return of trust can help relieve your anxiety, but not your struggle. Not your challenges. Those are there, however you decide to look at them. MEntity: Look at them differently, and acceptance will come. MEntity: We must conclude here for today. But we will continue again. As will all of you, no matter when your conclusion to a day comes. MEntity: Goodbye, for now. It will always only ever be "for now" for any of you.

    Working animals

    Excerpt from: Ask Michael, July 6, 2014, Channel: Troy Tolley ---------- [ClaireC] Michael, could you tell us where horses are in the hierarchy of the animal kingdom and how their Animal-Companion bond with humans is affected by the fact that they are often "working" animals? Is it any different than trained, performing dogs or circus animals? [MEntity] Though there is hierarchy of intelligence among most domestic or domesticated animals, there is very little difference emotionally. There are differences, but little. The range of intelligence only determines how that species can communicate its emotions, and how it organizes its experiences. This goes for chickens, cows, pigs, horses, birds, dogs, cats, etc. We are going to define "domesticated" as any of those species in captivity with which one can develop a relationship. There are many "pets" that fall outside of that, such as many reptiles or insects, and then there are some that fall outside of the category of "pets" that have evolved relationships with Humans, such as Bees. [MEntity] What the individuals or groups within that domesticated species do only has bearing insofar as how it contributes to their experience of Emotional evolution. Those creatures that are nutured as a whole tend to evolve faster in their emotional intelligence than those that are not. For example, dogs, cats, and horses have keen emotional worlds that range across a wide spectrum of emotions, while chickens tend to suffer from extreme terror and displacement due to the mass suffering. [MEntity] All non-sentient creatures tend to default to Instinctive methods for managing suffering and pain, and this is for the sake of protection against being seen as weak, vulnerable, etc. to other predators. Even the most intelligent of dogs, horses, cats, pigs, etc. will often refrain from reveal of pain or suffering for that reason. [MEntity] Therefore, working horses who are treated well may feel a great sense of purpose and bonding, while other working horses relegated to strict uses, such as carriage horses or race horses, suffer greatly, even if not in obvious ways. [MEntity] Care and feeding are not all that are necessary for the quality of life for the more emotionally-complex creatures. The more social the species, the more likely the suffering is reduced to strict work and use. [MEntity] Watching horses running freely in a field together versus watching a horse chained to a cart alongside Central Park is all that is necessary to know this, if one is practicing empathy. [ClaireC] "Beast of burden" comes to mind. [MEntity] We wish to be clear that the differentiation between suffering and pain is a matter of time. More emotionally-complex and intelligent creatures can suffer more easily than those that are not. However, the more a creature is exposed to pain, the more it can suffer, even as there is no sense of time. So while a horse or a dog can suffer even when between painful experiences, a chicken that is trapped in terror with injuries and a mutated body is in a constant state of pain, which is its own form of suffering. [MEntity] Animals used for performance, entertainment, circuses, and work often do suffer because most of these scenarios override everything natural to that creature. [MEntity] In cases where work is balanced with care, feeding, shelter, socializing, freedom, expression, and affection can there be the possibility of a "happy" creature.   5. This question was originally posted by Christian on 11/12/08. Hey guys, I might be having several of these questions for awhile. It seems that the most applicable information for my development has come from here so why not. After reading the response to self-hate with the child example two questions came to mind. In the given example, How would one handle it in a way that allows for the love behind the hand slapping to be acknowledged by the child and yet still warn of the danger of physical pain? I am thinking about something relating to still allowing the choice to occur but I am not sure. Why does it seems to be frightening to children to go to sleep? FROM MICHAEL: The use of pain as a means to intervene between a child and harm is not the same thing as harming a child or hijacking choice. To smack the hand of a child away from a fire is to use pain as a learning tool, not as an instrument of harm. There is a vast difference between HARM and PAIN. Pain is Information. Harm is Misinformation. All Harm includes Pain, so there is always a way to make sense of even the most Harmful things in life, but not all Pain is Harmful. Therein lies the way one can eventually find the love behind the pain that may have been a part of childhood. As one matures, if one chooses, one can retrospectively extract the information/love from the pain of childhood, and differentiate that from what was harm. This correlation may not be able to be conveyed to the child from the parent at the time, but trusting in his or her consciousness eventually being able to make sense of it is a most important element in his or her actually doing so. In terms of Karma, the intervention between a child and harm never generates Karmic Ribbons. In response to the question about children and the fear of sleep, this is often an extension of the fears of the parents and looking to the Chief Negative Feature of the caretakers can lend insight. However, it is quite natural for any growing organism to defend itself from what it does not understand and as the biological components of consciousness develop, the imagination and processes of comprehension can lead a child into many strange and wonderful and terrifying interpretations of the most mundane of things, such as sleep.

    ENERGY REPORT March 2013 2013 OVERLEAVES ROLE: SAGE (emphasized all year) CENTER: INTELLECTUAL (emphasized all year) GOAL: FLOW > acceptance/discrimination (emphasized Jan - Mar) MODE: POWER (emphasized Apr - Jun) ATTITUDE: IDEALIST (emphasized Jul - Sep) CHIEF FEATURES: SELF-DESTRUCTION (emphasized Oct - Dec) *************** The full force of the positive or negative poles of Flow comes into focus over the month of March, with a nice embrace of a sense of Freedom, or a serious struggle with Inertia. The way one can tell the difference is as with most experiences as described by positive and negative poles: the positive tends to feel better. If you are experiencing the positive pole of Flow, you would tend to feel as if you have plenty of time, that your pace is comfortable, and that obstacles can be navigated. Freedom (the positive pole) does not mean easy, but it does tend to bring a confidence that allows for more graceful navigation. If you are experiencing the negative pole of Flow, you may find that you feel a nagging pull in a direction that you might wish to ignore, but that you know is impending as an obligation, or that you are being pulled in a direction that you resent having to negotiate, or that you have begun to invest in as deep a distraction as possible from the direction you seem to be moving. As March unfolds, there is a kind of collective support being generated for all who wish to surrender to the flow of the life, and to negotiate the responsibilities that come with it, so that movement and direction and meaning can return. It may seem daunting and unappealing to tend to the flow that your life is taking at the moment, but the reason one benefits from this is because you can then steer your life, instead of simply struggling against the current. The flow of one’s life is not an imposition, but a culmination of choices and actions that have generated a momentum. Sometimes the long-term results of long-term choices can reveal some difficult or unappealing directions, but these can be altered if you are present and steering your way. You may not be able to reverse the flow, but you can alter that flow. How one manages to feel one’s sense of Freedom vs Inertia in the life over March will help determine how the MODE comes into focus in April, which is POWER. Helpful thoughts over MARCH might be: PAIN IS RESISTANCE IS INFORMATION All pain is a result of resistance. This does not make pain or resistance “bad,” but they are inextricably connected. Pain is not an indication of “bad,” but of resistance. Lifting weights or exercising can bring pain, but there is benefit from this. Running into a wall, or stubbing a toe can bring pain, too, but these are informative of your navigational stumbles, not meant to be “bad.” Pain is always an indication of resistance. It is that simple. If the needle is fine enough, one does not feel much of the pinch of a shot to the arm, but run a serrated knife over the skin, and you will feel great pain. The pain one feels in anticipation of a shot is often much worse than the actual pain of the shot because there is more psychological resistance. Resistance to communication when communication is necessary can be painful. Resistance to responsibility brings pain. Resistance in weight-lifting brings pain, too, and there can be benefit. Severity of pain is measured in intensity and longevity. Long-term resistance can bring long-term illnesses or chronic pain. Sometimes pain can be immensely intense, but because it is for a moment, it is not difficult to overcome. Sometimes pain can be more like a cocooning that begins to dim the senses, closing down sensation, building resistance, and leading to apathy, depression, temper, and rage. When you feel pain, there is information there. It is filled with insight about your life in immediate, short-term, and long-term ways. For the point of this Energy Report, we will just suggest that as you move through March, you may find where you are most resistant by paying attention to the various versions of pain in your life, and examining the what and why of your resistance. Keep in mind that you may not have those answers right away, but paying attention to your impulses, and deciding to follow the flow of your life, to trust, your answers and insights would come. DATES OF INTEREST March 15 -- NEXUS - another Divergence generated by continued resignation to inertia. Parts of “you” will spin off into variations of itself to accommodate the resistance to the responsibility of the flow of the life.
