One Vonnegut article led to many others, which I found myself enjoying this morning, laughing out loud, so decided to share with everyone here, just because.

which naturally led to the source

Vonnegut is fab!

And then, besides simply being a great story teller and an intriguing mind, there might be more to the resonance;

Had to search a little, but here it is, from "Michael Speaks: The Legacy of Sarah Chambers (Volume 2)":

Dunno how valid it is, but I suddenly remembered it :)

Uma: I see you are a Warrior -- Vonnegut's style is so incisive, and both slapstick and appeals, in my minds eye to Warrior.

PPLD: that is far out. The bokonists, the karass. I read that as a somewhat dejecteded 15 year old, and bokonism helps keep my chin up.
It helped me with that fear of missing out feeling,
as it conveys that your group is with you -- Your karass is always out there, and you'll all keep rubbing elbows.
Thanks for reminding me. Time to pick it up again.

Also I write a bit, and Vonneguts guidelines to writers I always found scathingly good--
If I remember correctly, he encourages writers to be to the point.
eg. only include details if they are pertinent to the story,

and his bit about "bashers" and "_____", the 2 types of writers.
I am an aspiring basher-- scentence by sentence and never looking back so much.

He also didn't like semicolons all that much.   He like simple, direct, declarative sentences.   I love Vonnegut.  He really knew how to string all those sentences together!   My favorite is a bit of an oddball:   Bluebeard.
