2020 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES OVERLEAVES

Are there recent polls showing any polled preference for leading presidential candidates? Does that happen yet?

Yes, but they're unreliable this far out.  Generally speaking, the current frontrunners seem to be Sanders, Biden, and of course Trump, though Warren and Harris also have respectable chances of making it to the general.

Speaking of the general election, whomever the Democrat candidate is will definitely have a good chance of victory, though as both a Republican and an incumbent president, Trump has a number of structural advantages.  As 2016 demonstrated, simply getting more votes is insufficient in our rather broken system.

Just a couple of observations: Tulsi Gabbard and Amy Klobuchar, on the Democratic side, are cadre outliers - they are the only ones (whose overleaves have been channeled) who are not in Cadre 2 with all the other Democratic politicians.

In one of the Yarbro Michael books, the M's through Sarah Chambers noted that law-making was a "stagnation" - the old term for Flow - goal. And since many politicians come from a law background, they either said, or implied, that politicians tended to be in Flow. I know the teachings have evolved tremendously since the Yarbro days, and so has society. It appears that the most popular Goals for politicians in the 21st Century are Submission and Discrimination. That makes so much more sense to me than Flow, though there are politicians with that goal. Politics seems very in tune with Submission - taking a personal back seat to a greater goal and devoting oneself to a cause.

Not surprised at all the Sages and Priests, though! 😉 And the Warriors who are women.

I seriously thought I remembered a session from an election year in which a number of candidates were from C5. But perhaps that was another parallel. 😉

Anyhow, while searching for that session, I ran across this session about the 2016 election: Politician Overleaves. I was very surprised to see that the GOP candidates still standing at the time were ALL Cadre 11!

And I also found this article: Cadres and Entities 101 --

Cadre 2 = Knowledge (questioners, insight givers, facilitators)
Cadre 5 = Beauty (artists, highlights the best of things)

Cadre 11 = Enlightenment (teachers, ‘light’ bringers, providing structures for perceiving reality)

I remembered that Michael is also Cadre 11 from their Energy Ring. Hopefully our "local" Cadre 11 that is trying to hold back the tide of the Mature Soul Age is learning a lot from the experience. I'm trying to remember that SOMEDAY they will wise up.

We do need to confirm that the current candidates are all from our own Energy Ring. In one of my own sessions with Michael they indicated that "Cadre 2 has had a long-game, so to speak, in regard to moves into power for help in securing a Mature Soul paradigm." The context of that particular discussion -- to me -- opened the door for them to say the candidates mentioned at the time (Biden, Harris, Warren, Bennet, Buttigieg and Booker) were not from the same Energy Ring, but Michael did not make that distinction. So I'm fairly sure these are all our own Energy Ring's Cadre 2 members, but it would be wise to ask, along with the extended question of why our own Energy Ring is so heavily represented among candidates given the very large number of Energy Rings on the planet.

While talking about this subject with @Maureen, we realized that it would also be good to know where these candidates are in their Internal Monads. Knowing that information has always been helpful to me in understanding a person. In the case of assessing a potential President, I think it would also be beneficial.

That will probably be gotten once the top 2 are narrowed down.

I've updated the candidate Overleaves table again.

Just noticed something interesting: Castro elected to support Elizabeth Warren after he dropped out, and the two of them are Entity Mates.

And Sanders and Biden are also Entity Mates, as well as Gillebrand and Harris--all C2E1

Presidential running mates are usually picked in the summer. Perhaps an entity mate may be selected come July or August.

I wish Jay Inslee had been in the race long enough to make this list.

Bernie Sanders has suspended his campaign! Looks like Biden is the guy. I wish I could feel more enthusiastic about him, but I guess maybe he's a better fit for the early mature soul US electorate than my Old 4th view of the world? Thats what I'm hoping. I would like Sanders to be his running mate, but two old white guys doesn't seem like a smart idea, he would probably choose somebody to counter his own white old guy-ness.

It has been suggested that Biden will choose a woman as running mate. I read two names earlier that were suggested: Klobuchar and Kamala H.

Yes, Joe Biden has promised to pick a woman, and I believe it will be a woman of color. Harris is a top contender, so is Senator Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada (I don't believe we have her overleaves. I'm pretty much guessing Mature Scholar) or Representative Val Demings of Florida (again, my guess, Mature Warrior). Amy Klobuchar might still be on the list.

Stacey Abrams maybe.

Personally I hope it's not Amy Klobuchar. I've never been able to warm up to her, even though she seems okay. Kamala Harris I'm fine with.

I love Stacey Abrams but I would not want to see her as Biden's VP pick but Harris I would.  As far as Abrahms for governor, sure.  She'd run circles around that ass hat that currently sits at the top of Georgia's seat of government.  But realistically, what governing experience does she have that qualifies her to potentially step into the shoes of the Presidency to govern a nation like the US?  And the likelihood that this will take place with Biden as President is even higher.  So it's a no for me on Abrams right now.  After serving as governor I'd be more than willing to throw my support her way for President or VP.

Nina Turner would be a sensible choice.  It would be wise of him to pick someone who might make progressives loathe him slightly less.

This a thousand times over.

If this race is going to be all about turnout on the non-Trump side, and cross-over voters aren't really going to be a thing (due to Trump's partisan popularity), then Dems should really be going for the heavily policy-based crowd that swings hard progressive and populist.  They're the ones that are really split on whether to hold their nose for Biden or just effectively not vote for president.

Contrary to Washington DC myth, a lot of them are actually these independents Democrats say they want.  That uptick in independents leaving both major political parties in recent years is not the result of some shit like "wanting to be moderate", but rather disillusionment with corporatism and corruption of both major political parties.

In my experience, most "moderate" (capitalism-loving) democrats are also blue-no-matter-who, anyone-is-better-than-Trump democrats who are already going to be voting for Biden in the general.  That pivot-to-the-center tactic that politicians think they're supposed to do is largely bullshit in this day and age for winning elections.

That said, I doubt Joe Biden's donors have a huge interest in him winning using progressive populism.  Compared to having a Trump 2nd term presidency, having a true populist in the white house is worse for elites.

Nina Turner has hardly any experience, either, so I doubt Joe Biden will pick her. It seems to be down to Kamala Harris (IMO the most likely), Amy Klobuchar (I know a lot of people aren’t enthused about her, BUT, she’s been on record as one of the most effective Senators, and no way would she be a drag on the ticket like Sarah Palin was), Gretchen Whitmer (she’s great, but I don’t think Biden should take a governor from a swing state who hasn’t been in office long; Whitmer would be a terrific candidate in 2024 or 2028), or Catherine Cortez Masto (senior senator from NV; not a lot of people outside Nevada know much about her).

I mean, she's been in leadership positions in politics (either as a sitting politician or in campaign management) for 14 years, and worked in politics in general for 20.  Kamala Harris has only been a sitting senator for 3 years, with most of her career spent in law.

That said, I could see Biden using a supposed lack of experience as an excuse if questioned about Turner.  It wouldn't be very smart to just come out and say "she's not conservative enough for me."

Submitting a request for Presidential Overleaves - to anyone who can ask - on Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York. I’m aware he’s said publicly that he’s “not interested“, but who knows, a lot can happen in the coming months.
