Delphi 224
A lovely, tender song. Her voice is unimposing, yet gently holds the listener’s attention with its unadorned realism. McRae’s account is of perennial loneliness, partnership without intimacy, the necessity of continuing existence knowing that an all-consuming love that has within it the power to stop the motor of the heart is but an impossibility, yet ever-yearned for fantasy.
