Leonard Cohen - You Want It Darker

This song has got such an incredible story and delivery. I love everything about this song. I too love this album. I was lucky to see him in two of his NZ/Aotearoa concerts. I yelled out "I love you Leonard!!" and he heard it and smiled. I cherish that moment, I meant it.

This song has such silence space holiness and like an imploring quality to it, a yearningness, also end of life exhaustion and limitation in it. Done with a lot of beauty/love and truth. And then the other guy singing "Hineni Hineni" brings tears for multiple reasons. He is so talented.

It strikes me as Surrender in song form. Not denying or justifying the pain and darkness of life, but letting go of that which can't be controlled or understood. Freely following the path wherever it leads, even as you question the sanity of its apparent heading.
