How (and Why) to: BUMP TOPICS

Recommended Posts

Troy

BUMP = using a minor action such as a quick comment with the sole intent of returning the topic to the top of an activity feed or status of "unread"

WHY = because you think it deserves attention or because it still requires a response and too much time has passed.

HOW = instead of adding a *bump* comment, you can simply click the *BUMP* button! This will keep the comments clear and clean but still bump the topic to the top of the feed.

CAUTION: please use wisely

I know it's not a huge deal, but is there anything you can do to "un-bump" something you've bumped accidentally? I've randomly bumped some old and inactive topics on accident (mostly because of computer glitches or pressing the wrong thing on mobile). I hope that's okay. I'd like to know if there's a way to un-do this when it happens? Either way, thanks for the help. I'll be more careful in the future.

I don't know how to un-bump topics, but don’t worry about it. We love old topics and usually someone will find that they needed to read it right then. You’re assisting the serendipity. 😉
