Asimbonanga - Nelson Mandela joins Johnny Clegg

Since I posted Johnny Clegg songs recently, here's another. Though this one I wanted to share as much because of the video as the music. This was, from what I gather, a concert in 1999. Johnny Clegg briefly explains the history of the song at the start of video, and is later joined onstage by Nelson Mandela. This video became particularly popular when Mandela passed away in 2013. I love it because of when Mandela comes on stage smiling and dancing. There's something about it I find infectious and I can't help but smile too.

Asimbonanga
(we have not seen him)
Asimbonang' umandela thina
(we have not seen mandela)
Laph'ekhona
(in the place where he is)
Laph'ehleli khona
(in the place where he is kept)

Oh the sea is cold and the sky is grey
Look across the island into the bay
We are all islands till comes the day
We cross the burning water

Asimbonanga
(we have not seen him)
Asimbonang' umandela thina
(we have not seen mandela)
Laph'ekhona
(in the place where he is)
Laph'ehleli khona
(in the place where he is kept)

A seagull wings across the sea
Broken silence is what I dream
Who has the words to close the distance
Between you and me

Asimbonanga
(we have not seen him)
Asimbonang' umandela thina
(we have not seen mandela)
Laph'ekhona
(in the place where he is)
Laph'ehleli khona
(in the place where he is kept)
