MICHAEL:

As for your Essence's second Grand Cycle: it appears to us that this was through a species that was highly active, warrior-like, and shaped something similar to a squid, though not confined to waters. The heavy emphasis on action required a great deal of lifetimes for the cycles to be completed. Violence was not considered a "bad thing" in this species, and most of the violence that would be unleashed upon each other was seen as no different from the "violence" that is "unleashed" by your driving of a car and hitting an animal, with a similar response as one might see to a sneeze. Despite the emphasis on so much action, leading to some great, elaborate "sports" that required great skills, this was a rather clumsy species who could kill each other in a stumble, a wave of a tentacle, or backing up and sitting down.

Funerals were replaced by big "oops." There were no "hard feelings" among the species when there was a death, and especially when it was of an accidental nature. The species developed a rather close relationship with death, in that sense, and reincarnation was fairly accepted, so much so that markers were generated for subsequent lives to find and pick up where the previous left off. This was not a perfect system, of course, but it was surprisingly accurate enough to be useful.

Instead of emphasis on burials of the body, crypts were kept with significant items gathered from the personal life of that Personality, and tracked by an elaborate key system. Part of the third internal monad, then, was the search for one's previous belongings so as to move forward in the life. If enough of the memory of the Personality matched with the key system in place for a crypt, then that crypt was opened for that Personality and continuation of that life began. Soul Ages were tracked fairly accurately by the matching of accumulations gathered in a crypt to the memory markers of the Personality who claimed it. Though there is far more to the species than this, it was rather unique, so we share it here.
