A while back, I asked member Nick Sweeney, one of our local astrologists, about how he defined each of the signs in Astrology. Before MBTI and The Overleaves System, Astrology was my major reference for personalities.
Today, other than occasionally checking out a pretty valid horoscope site(for me anyways- it's generally been very accurate) and helping friends understand the system a bit more, I don't really feel a draw to Astrology anymore- but it was and still is helpful.
So I wanted to share a quick list of descriptions and polarities I made for each of the signs a year ago(with the help of a bunch of cross-referenced astrology sites, personal experience, and NickS), just to see if they're generally valid.

ARIES- Purposeful action for the sake of self-awareness + self-discovery.
-Self-Involved: Quick-tempered, Ignorant, Impatient, Impulsive etc. (The -Aries removes everyone else from the equation and follows only their rules.)
+Pioneering: Curious, Energetic, Courageous, Driven etc. (The +Aries stops forcing, and starts exploring. The +Aries includes everyone. When NickS said that the action of an Aries must have a purpose, it felt pretty valid to me.)

TAURUS- Ground creative impulses into stable, enduring things/forms.
-Rigidity: Possessive, Inflexible, Obstinate, Aloof etc. (The -Taurus just doesn't care, or doesn't realize they do- so they act without the comprehension +Stability brings.)
+Stability: Grounding, Nourishing, Securing, Helping/Providing, Loyal etc. (Pretty self-explanatory.)

GEMINI- Making connections to learn, understand, express; gathering info to see clearly.
-Abstract: Anxious, Inconsistent, Disconnected, Speculative etc. (The -Gemini feels the pull between their conflicting thoughts and emotions- I've found they're the most polarized and inconsistent sign, and that they try to reconcile this with reason or aggression or detachment etc..)
+Connecting: Adjustable, Sharing, Curious, Versatile etc. (The +Gemini brings insight through their connections+curiosity that helps bridge their duality.)

CANCER- Creating an emotionally secure sanctuary to safely explore feelings.
-Moodiness: Petulant, Indirect, Callous, Clingy etc. (-Cancers indulge in their emotions in unhealthy ways- they can be pretty damn paranoid too.)
+Tenderhearted: Creative, Securing, Intuitive, Protective, Courageous etc. (+Cancers are emotionally strong and they tend to use this to reach out to others or within.)

LEO- Be bold+creative and express you in ways that warm, motivate and uplift.
-Self-Assuming: Assumptive, Dominating, Melodramatic, Possessive, Egotistical etc. (Especially when the -Leo's pride+sense of self is wounded, self-assumption can come in to protect them in a myriad of ways- from simple arrogance to taking charge to assuming roles for themselves to fit into/control.)
+Integrity: Bighearted, Valiant, Flexible, Creative etc. (The +Leo is filled with exuberance, even if only felt from within.)

VIRGO- Rigorous Self-Analysis; and Dedicating that to meaningful work/service.
-Counterproductive: Exacting, Interfering, Perfectionist, Procrastinating, Denial etc. (The inherent drive to perfect can overwhelm the -Virgo when all they see are the negatives, shortcomings, burdens, frustrations etc. They will then use their drive for perfectionism as an excuse for their behaviors.)
+Constructive: Helpful, Meticulous, Methodical, Enduring (Virgos are tireless workers and analyzers of themselves+others. This is all done for the sake of their work/service.)

LIBRA- Creating relationships that reflect beauty, harmony and peace.
-Irresolute: Vacillating, Theoretical, Judgmental, Avoidant etc. (-Libras seek to avoid displeasure/conflict and emphasize pleasure/calm, using/doing whatever they can to create such situations.)
+Harmonious: Confident, Balanced, Resolute, Diplomatic/Co-Operative etc. (Pretty self-explanatory.)

SCORPIO- Transforming yourself through seeing your inner intensities reflected back.
-Intense: Compulsive, Obsessive, Bitter/Resentful, Unrelenting etc. (I think the -Scorpio is motivated+fixated from feeling helpless or powerless.)
+Magnetic: Self-Transforming, Perceptive, Resourceful, Passionate/Motivated etc. (The +Scorpio, however is motivated to transform and heal.)

SAGITTARIUS- Growth and understanding through flexible searching and adventure.
-Irresponsible: Avoidant, Restive, Blunt, Inflexible, Aimless etc. (It's pretty clear that if commitment equates loss of freedom, this can result.)
+Aspiring: Searching/Seeking, Unrestrained, Adventurous, Open-Minded Philosophizing etc. (The +Sagittarius has a direction/aspiration, and acts upon this to discover new wisdom, truths and possibilities.)

CAPRICORN- Bringing what's inside you into your public role/contribution.
-Tunnel-Visioned: Concealed Inner Turmoil, Controlling, Dismissive, Detached etc. (The -Capricorn is fixated upon the worth of their choices, often to the point that if those choices hold no worth they are ignored/dismissed/buried in favor of their more worthy goals/pursuits.)
+Ambitious: Resourceful/Practical, Hardworking, Responsible, Helpful, Deliberate etc. (The +Capricorn materializes their ideas+impulses by following+building upon them. This is why they're hard workers, they are always climbing and building and structuring.)

AQUARIUS- Sharing knowledge+ideals to liberate and progress to a higher potential.
-Eccentric: Dogmatic, Alienated, Rebellious, Extremist etc. (The -Aquarius internally divides themselves- with no doubt they're eccentric, but they tend to undermine themselves for this, distance from others to avoid this, or put themselves above others to compensate.)
+Progressive: Innovative, Humanitarian/Altruistic, Self-Embodying, Visionary etc.  (+Aquarians communicate their ideals to bring radical movement in a positive direction. Many are reformers, and reach out to make a difference.)

PISCES- Aware of being the vital sustaining force of your life- a part of the whole.
-Excessive: Hypersensitive, Impressionable, Fantasy, Melancholic, Disillusioned etc. (-Pisces are hard for me to pinpoint, they're almost slippery- but I think that in general, they all want something/one inspiring to look forward to, to the point they lose themselves in that or become burdened by it.)
+Empathetic: Listener, Intuitive, Chameleon, Charitable etc. (The +Pisces realizes that the realm of intimacy is highly important to them, and that contributing to something they care about is worthwhile. They're one of the more instinctual signs.)

Thanks for sharing, Kurtis. I've always been keen to read what you have to say!

I've read from a non-Michael source that the way the star alignment can affect your DNA is through influencing the magnet fields within our bodies when we were born. I think it made sense from a "scientific" standpoint but I doubt our science can progress enough to validate it any time soon ;) The sun's position is very important in setting up the personality but there are many other star alignments to consider here. The possibility is limitless and no two personalities will be the same.

I think your descriptions are spot on! Here are some of the comments I have based on the people I encountered in this life:

ARIES

"Actions speak louder than words" are definitely what they believe! I'll say on the downside they can come off as arrogant and give the impression of not being polite - this can offend people and sometimes give them trouble socially. I am also very surprised by how quickly they seem to rebound from major setbacks in life - it's sometimes hard to tell if they truly recover or they are trying to cover up the wounds by taking defensive actions.

TAURUS

The taurus I met are all extremely hardworking and driven - more so than capricorns I will say! They seem to be perfectionists, although there are quite a few "perfectionists" from the bunch but their motivations may differ. They also give me the impression that they have good tastes and high standards on the material things in life.

GEMINI

Extremely smart but change their mind so fast! it's often hard to understand what exactly is going on in their mind. In Michael's term, I'm guessing they probably have the highest frequency. I really like the word you chose for them: "inconsistent", and it doesn't have to be negative.

CANCER

I'll say "protective" is the word for them. They like to take care of and nourishing people. Think of a mother figure. They also remind me of the server role. You mentioned that they are emotionally strong, but sometimes I feel that the strong is on the outside, they can be quite fragile within. I also found their ways of handling difficult situations in relationships can be quite irrational. "Cancers indulge in their emotions in unhealthy ways" - can't agree more!

LEO

They remind me of the King's role. There is the charisma around them that speaks leadership and mastery.

VIRGO

I'd say no better word than "paranoid" can describe them lol... but it is also what makes their character "cute". Every single detail has to be their way - that will drive me crazy and in some way isolate them from the crowd, but they always seem to be able to find a partner in life who will be patience and supportive, who understands the beautiful soul within.

LIBRA

Seem to be the popular boys and girls around as they are "diplomatic". This is very paradoxical, but I found them sometimes have difficulties to make decisions and favor one side over another - maybe it's because they always try so hard to find the balance point in any situation.

SCORPIO

They are the ones who give me the "crazy in love" vibe. They also remind me of the warrior role with a chief feature of self-destruction. Relationship with a scorpio probably is like a rollercoaster ride, some people absolutely love it, and others are scared away.

SAGITTARIUS

They are so adventurous and enjoy a life of freedom that they remind me of nomads. They don't seem to give a crab about a lot of things people are chasing after in this modern society: money, fame, a "good" career, a stable family...etc. Interestingly, the sagittarius I know of are all pretty good at taking care of people - well, I guess when they find you inspiring :)

CAPRICORN

This is my sign and I often find the typical description does not fit me well ;) I do not believe the capricorns are particularly hard working. A lot of them I know of seem to be low key and lay back. But I'll say capricorns are practical, and they concerns a lot about the purpose of their actions and it sometimes limit them from choices.

AQUARIUS

They remind me of the priest role. Beautiful people inside and out and they seem to act from a philosophical height. Also they are the narcissists of the bunch! More than once I've found myself hopelessly in love with people from this sign so my view can be quite biased here ;) I also really resonate with the word you chose for them "Eccentric".

PISCES

I'll say they are the most introvert ones around and they tend to hide their true emotions from the public. It makes it difficult to communicate with them effectively, but their emotions are like the waves of the sea: deep and hard to predict. They seem to be the most "artistic" sign to me, but I don't think they are necessarily like the role of "artisan".

Thanks Kong! I always like when others share their thoughts. I'm glad they ring a bell.

I'm not too knowledgable on people with each sign, but I have some to go off of; plus, as an artist, I make lots of characters, and definitely see themes between characters based on their astro signs.

ARIES

Aries I know are reason-based, straightforward types(even if their beliefs are whacko, that purposeful character is there), and at times are completely insensitive to, or unaware of how others are feeling.

I know for myself, I'm at a loss when it comes to reading others; it's in no way an innate strength. In fact, the reason I've been called out as aloof or insensitive, is because I'm the type who sticks to my guns stubbornly if I'm disagreed with- not in offensive ways, I just distance myself when I don't know how to respond- because I just see as I do.

I'm not a bold go-getter like the traditional Aries, despite having a cluster of arian planets(which are in the 4th house). But I do relate to the pioneering aspect where I want to explore my intellectual interests. I've had to learn that others aren't always as interested and invested in what I am, though.

I also know a few Aries that embody that innocent naivety and childlike curiosity, being the 1st sign and all, that revolves around the self- "I am."

TAURUS

I agree with you. Taurus I know value the pleasures they can have and feel- the ones I know like to experiment, be free, have fun, eat lots of yummy(free) food, get massages, meditate, exercise etc.

And they're also very ambitious and hardworking if they see a point- they tend to be open-minded until they get annoyed by obnoxious behaviors. I've read they're Self-Interested types too, they can be very selfish, or very giving+sharing because they value having fine quality in life.

GEMINI

These guys seem like a Scholar-Sage mix, and are very difficult to pin, hence inconsistent. I've read they enjoy mental stimulation, but I don't think it's just that- I think it's about building a network, and exploring the horizon, reaching out to new people, having new experiences etc.

I think Gemini can be very closed off too, so that network can be built internally too, as they learn from experiences.

CANCER

Yeah, I see Cancers as maternal, but I know some very strict ones still, that hide their intimacy and vulnerability beneath that exterior. I don't relate to Cancers being all about home+family, it is more about inner security, inner sanctuary, and especially about how their relationships help create that.

I agree on their fragility. That aspect is why they can blow up so much, and handle relationships with irrational measures. But if a Cancer finds/creates that resting place within them that they can regenerate from, even their fragile moments become a source of strength.

LEO

Oh, charismatic- yes, that definitely fits. And the leadership and mastery too, yes. Leo's another sign I don't know much about.

I knew a few Leos who were very gregarious and outspoken, but incredibly argumentative, thinking they had to be right because they knew shit. I also created a few Leos who put on the Leo performance persona, but felt quite unsure of themselves underneath, so I think that sense of pride, accomplishment, "knowing", trust etc. Is very important to them and their integrity.

But on the surface, they can be pretty dismissive, insular and dictating.

VIRGO

I have a Virgo dad, and even if he has the patience of a saint at times, he does burst out when things are not working- Virgo perfectionism.

All the Virgos I've made are self-reliant, trust themselves most, and have excellent organization skills, but I've noticed that because this sign dedicates their analysis to something that matters to them, they can be very caring and creative too. Just less prone to ever not include limitations and structure in that. They have an eye for detail, no doubt.

Ok, I write a lot, so I think 6 signs is enough to write about for now, but if these resonate, do tell. :)

Nice observations! Now I am looking forward to your comments on the other six signs ;)

I didn't realize your sign is Aries but what you said makes perfect sense. I once got into an argument with an Aries ex over the kind of politics that has absolutely no impact on a personal level, and he got visually upset and frustrated because I was "too emotional and do not respect facts". For the record, the only thing I pointed out was simply there is a media bias to what he claimed and in politics often we do not know what actually happened (I'm being cynical here, but now I only believe what our Michael have to say on politics). I guess there is some opportunities for learning about broader perspective here. I'm curious what's your view on ambiguity as I personally think there's duality to all aspects in human life and "truth" on a personal or a global level can be relative and often creates contrast. It is in this contrast that we learned from the opposite and pursue our goals on earth.

As a Scorpio, Nov 3, 1975, this does have some resonance.  Of course as with all personality systems, individual results will vary.   I do have a strong aversion to feeling powerless.  There also seems to be a obession/passion for "fixing" things. Usually, personal issues or relationships.

I really can't count the number of times I have said or thought  "I can't fix this", in reference to a situation. Sometimes it is the recognition the battle is not mine to fight.  Or the fight is to large.   I prefer the intimacy of growing and changing together with a small group of others as opposed to societal sweeping change.

Hope that helps.

I got a little chuckle when I first saw this thread because out of the blue I had been listening to some youtube clips of an astrologer named Debra Silverman.  She does these little short clips on each of the sun signs.  Two in particular that she does I found hilarious, probably because I know a person of each of these sun signs and it fits them to a "T"  :)

@Cong- Ambiguity isn't too big of an issue for me, but if met with it I use my Intellectual Center of course to uncover what exactly someone might be saying. And even if I'm wrong in that conclusion, I tend to be openminded enough to know that I might not know what the other knows about the matter(Realist Attitude).
My choice is to either continue questioning the ambiguity, sometimes to the point of debate, or just avoid talking about if I deem it doesn't matter that much(Pragmatism).
Out of curiosity though, what sign did you think I was? Or think I fit?

@Bobby- Omg, I loved watching those, Bobby. Thanks for sharing them!

@Christian- I don't know many Scorpios who are of the reformer-types, and I tend to think of the sign as being very individual-focused. So it fits that you'd prefer more one-on-one change. Any Scorpios I've created/written are very focused, and mostly on themselves and their capabilities.

Anyways, I'll finish off what I started with the other 6 six signs now.

LIBRA
I know some very imbalanced Libras who don't handle life's difficulties very well and swing from one extreme to the next, trying to convince themselves of what's best for them, or what's best for unity/harmony. And in addition, any I've created tend to emphasize the whole decision-weighing process too. They're just always search for a balance point, as you said.
Libra is incredibly diplomatic, or at least they know how to work a social situation out in a way that favors no extreme(even if the Libra themselves favors one secretly). But to achieve that harmony, they can resort to such extreme measures. Manipulation, Reckless behavior, self-destruction, detachment, putting on facades/masks etc. They really can be pretty two-faced, I've found.
But Libras also like pleasures, beauty, refinement, elegance and surprisingly, self-strength. They can be good judges of character too, if they don't let their vain or judgmental tendencies be all there is to a person or situation. I've noticed they like the concept of justice too.

SCORPIO
If anything the one characteristic of every Scorpio I know is that they're focused, intense, determined. And I've found it pretty consistent that they like vengeance, control in power and also to some extent like the Libra- justice. But i also notice their perceptiveness.
I know Scorpios who get very obsessed and fixated over how they feel about matters, without even giving a chance to analyze the situation, and when that happens their strength of perception falters. When they use that perceptiveness, I think that's what lets them transform themselves. Scorpios tend to at some point in their lives, radically change themselves or their position/understanding.

SAGITTARIUS
Despite not knowing too much about Sagittarius, I actually know quite a few, and i'd say they're some of the most passionate people. They reach out when people want help, they aim to understand not conclude, they're always exploring what's best, what's possible, what's grand, and they have visions and the resources to back those up.
My Sag cousin had a desire to build a family, and she did, and I think that's what Sags are all about- aspiration. Dreams, make-believe, exploration, the world, philosophy, dynamics. So yes, I agree they can be very caring! But I've also noticed they do not want to be held back- they want to be free to explore, and they love for others to explore with them. But once you become a hindrance, the Sagittarius wants to cut ties- and they'll either be overt about this or try to dodge the discomfort.
They also tend to speak the truth they see, and can be pretty careless, even reckless to the point they have to learn how to assume responsibility. I also agree they're unorthodox- they want to dismantle  I think.

CAPRICORN
Capricorn is a sign I really don't know much about. At times I think it's as inconsistent as Gemini, but looking back to the few Capricorns I know, I think practical, or seeing things that way is a good descriptor. Capricorns like business(systems), they like to have something to do, or organize. I tend to notice they're conservative and strict about their rules, mostly to themselves, but they are good critics, and have a good handle on realism, workable methods.
But yes, purpose, worth, value etc are things Capricorns are interested in. But I have seen hardworking as pretty accurate most of the time- just the fact that they bring their passion/soul out into the world, into reality, rather than keep it hidden- that's what I'd say a manifest Capricorn is all about.
Actually, could you(or anyone) tell me more about this sign?

AQUARIUS
Eccentric fits them pretty well. Most Aquarians I know are weird and strange, and they seem to have a difficulty looking past things as concepts, at least emotionally. For instance, they just don't get themselves, though they naturally want to be themselves more than being anyone else. Aquarius likes liberation and revolution and uniqueness. They don't like confinement and boredom. They want something stimulating, they want ideals, they want friendships, they want to express themselves as they are. It's kind of like Power Mode.
But the thing about Aquarius is that they don't just think, they move and create change.  If Gemini builds a network across each day, Aquarius builds a network across each year- they're big-picture oriented.
All this can isolate them, which can bring out what I think is a form of compartmentalization or at least distance and lonesomeness.

PISCES
Pisces is another difficult one, but a word that comes to mind is that they merge with others. Pisces is about losing boundaries and merging. Because I see that they all desire inspiration, they merge with whatever symbolizes that, and they can be very clingy, hypersensitive, escapist etc if that symbol/connection(you'd bet that connection is important to them) changes or breaks.
Pisces are also chameleons- I think it's because they move with the waves(and those can be waves of changing emotions), like you describe. They want depth, intimate union, total presence. So yeah, they can be pretty artistic and spiritual and soulful, but I really think it's just that merging aspect.

Kurtis, if I have to make a guess I would've said you're Capricorn or Aquarius...I guess it's related to your Scholar cast, and those two signs give the strongest scholarly vibe. I've also read that those two signs are the symbols of old soul ages (not saying that people from those signs are necessarily old souls), and your writing reflects the wisdom from the old souls.

Speaking of capricorn, I think your descriptions are accurate. I would say that the reason why I feel I'm more relaxed and layback compared to many hardworking friends is exactly because of the capricorn attitude: everything should have a purpose. Me and a few Capricorn friends I know of probably fail to see the purpose of "doing" a lot. I have a friend who once told me that I should have taken more actions to bring my ideas to the realization. I guess it's generally true for capricorns.

Cong, My Sun and Venus are in Capricorn.  When I was younger and especially pre-4th Internal Monad, I was somewhat of a classic Capricorn in the sense that I was very ambitious and always calculating how to accomplish my next goal.  I was success oriented, and very determined to get to where I was going.  There was not a doubt in my mind that I would achieve what I wanted and no one else doubted me either!  I was given responsibilities at an early age and seen as a leader or spokesperson at an early age (president of student councils and stuff like that).

Capricorn is the sign associated with the SOCIAL ORDER...THE STATE and AUTHORITY.  So, people with Capricorn strong in their chart are usually very aware of THE RULES (saturn) and what's expected of them by the authority figures...early in life.  This is so true of me.

But they can be so aware of what is expected and so aware of the social order, that they can use their considerable determination and will (control!) to climb the WRONG MOUNTAIN.  That is the big challenge and test for someone with a Capricorn Sun or other Cappy placements-choosing the "right" mountain to climb.  The right mountain, of course, is the one that makes your heart sing and is inner motivated, not outer motivated and focused on the applause and recognition and power that the world might give.

When I was younger, I was very much chasing recognition, fame, power and applause, but by the time I reached my mid-20's, the inside started to assert itself, and I realized those things are not important to me at all and not what I am aiming for.

So, I have become very laid back in many ways, like you describe yourself....but then again, I have a goal of FLOW and I am a late-level old soul.

The soul age aspect of the Michael teachings is a KEY that puts many inconsistencies of astrology into perspective.  A young souled sun in capricorn will likely look VERY different than an old soul capricorn.  And then there are all the other overleaves which affect personality, as well.

It's all so complex!

So, I what Kurtis says about Capricorn bringing what is inside the self out into the world:-)

I am a Fish and the usual descriptions of Fish characteristics (including the above) make absolutely no sense to me, when I look at myself ☺️. But then again - I am not big on astrology, so maybe there's more to it?

I like the Chinese approach though and my sign there, the Rooster, corresponds much better with my personality. It is, however, almost the opposite of the Fish.

Now, I don't know .. I have never really understood the broad definitions of Astrological Signs.

Meaning that it makes sense to me that the precise moment you are conceived and born can influence you, because of the way the planets were placed at that moment .. but an entire month should have a say in the personality of everyone born that month? That doesn't ring true to me. And no, that doesn't mean that it isn't ...

I never personally observed a pattern in people or have been able to guess who has what sign ..

I have observed people who thought they were a particular way because of these signs .. "Well, that is because I am an Aries!"

In Asia, it's Bloodtypes that comes with a personality ..

Well, I don't know. I just think it sounds a bit to unspecific ..

Me and my partner are both Capricorn suns.  God help us. lol

But this is why I LOVE having the Michael Teachings...well there are many reasons...

The teachings put things in such perspective and go SOOOOOOOOOO much deeper than Astrology.

On the surface, yes, we are both Cappy suns and we have much in common.

But it is rather superficial when compared to our ROLES.

He is a KING, and I am SAGE.

This makes for some very curious and funny and exhausting relating! lol

Because of my SAGE in essence, I am SOOOOOOOO unlike the classic capricorn in many ways.

Yet due to my partner's KING essence, he is SOOOOOOOO a classic cappy!  It is ridiculous how much he matches the cappy descriptions.

All of this complexity has to be taken into account.

What I've seen is that the planets describe more your potential in a lifetime, rather than your temperament.

I do agree with a person who posted that the magnetic fields of the planets-or their etheric bodies- might have an influence  on your DNA at conception and birth.

For instance, my sister barely fits the Pisces archetype, but her interests are very Pisces like. To me she seems more like a Libra(I don't believe her astrochart had any Libran influences though.)

I'm also barely like an Aries, but my Aries is in the 4th house, so my personality is most active and energized by my private life. My Venus in Pisces and Moon in Libra calm down my Arian aggressiveness a lot and so I desire way more intimacy and depth and balance than a typical Aries would. Not to mention my overleaves all being neutral and analytical. Plus I have Saturn in Aries, so my limitations come mostly from myself, and my drive or lack thereof.

When I think of astrology as a melting pot of influences, it's much more dynamic and alive and easy to see.

Also, Pat, you're a Scholar Pisces like my sis and if that doesn't scream expert chameleon to me, I dunno what will.

I've read Pisces represents experience too, or the energy of cycling vs releasing/healing. Seems like that might relate to your Scholar too.

Astrology concerns the personality more than essence, but sun signs and moon signs do tend to show how you enphasize your role.

Also, Maureen has received a lot of info from the Ms on Astrology if you're ever interested. Her stuff mostly goes into the houses, but it can be correlated to the signs too.

Thanks for sharing this experience, Nick! I always like reading your posts even back to the Ning days! Now I know why :) We probably share more in common than just the Capricorn sign. I wait a bit too long to get my profile done, and I'm still waiting for the result from Troy. But I will be surprised if I don't have a Sage role or cast...my hunch is leaning towards Sage cast but we'll see. I also think I have a goal of flow - you see, great minds think alike!

I can relate to your personal experience too. I was a classic capricorn in my teenage years, a typical overachiever. College days were more laid-back and when I was in grad school, I suddenly lost my sense of direction. Now I think about it, that's probably the start of the 4th Monad. It's a pain for capricorns when you do not know the right mountain to climb! At that time, I chose not to climb anything and I was constantly in self introduced struggles. Now when I think back, I wonder if the soul is seeking such challenging situations so something more true, more loving, and more beautiful can grow out of it.

I am a Fish and the usual descriptions of Fish characteristics (including the above) make absolutely no sense to me, when I look at myself 263a.png. But then again - I am not big on astrology, so maybe there's more to it?

I like the Chinese approach though and my sign there, the Rooster, corresponds much better with my personality. It is, however, almost the opposite of the Fish.

Both of my parents are Roosters and they are like the opposite of each other :)

Hi, Pat! I think many descriptions of Pisces go to the extremes rather than getting at the core.  But the lack of resonance could also just be that even though your sun sign is Pisces, there are other signs and/or planets that are much more emphasized in your chart.

But the core of Pisces is the desire to dissolve the individual "I" and become a part of something greater.  No matter what Pisces types might be interested in, there will always be this motivation in some form or another, which on the extreme negative end can be the addictions and self-destructive tendencies in order to dissolve that sense of individual ego and on the positive side can be creative, artistic and/or devotion to a spiritual path.

Can't wait to see if Sage is in your essence mix!  I can relate to choosing not to climb anything.  That was a part of my 4IM journey for sure.  I had to accept that everything I thought I wanted I might not want anymore and that would be ok.  So the mountain became a philosophical mountain and learning to like myself no matter what.  Then, when all the dust cleared, I found that I did still love many of the things I loved before.  I just had a different motivation and aim.

Hey, everyone. I've been observing this discussion with interest for a while (I come from a long line of Vedic astrologers) and I thought I'd jump in.

@Christina Lily Pedersen Despite the popularity of Sun Signs, they're only one part of your whole chart. Your personality is dependent on a mix and match of all the planets and houses and positions in your chart. It is so complex that it can be fascinating to study a single person's chart as they make their choices in life and trace those paths astrologically.

Also, different systems will emphasise different parts of your chart. For instance, in India, if someone asks you your "sign", usually the Moon Sign is given, because the Vedic horoscope is charted according to the lunar calendar.

@KurtisM I'm inclined to agree with you when you say the chart represents potential. As for the Sun Sign (or any one sign) not representing us fully, it only makes sense to consider other influences, or simply the fact that you may not have "grown" into it yet.

For instance, for the longest time, I've emulated the traits of my Moon Sign (Scorpio), being secretive and reserved and even slightly manipulative. Only recently, I've grown into my Sun Sign (Aries), becoming more outgoing, loud and openly vulnerable. Incidentally, this also parallels me growing into my Sage essence. If I'm not mistaken, this transition is a natural and healthy part of growing into adulthood (3rd IM?), where the Moon that represents childhood is left behind and the Sun, representing personal identity, becomes the face of one's personality. Having said that, I know my personality and interests contain aspects of both (and many other) influences: I'm still reflective and perceptive like a Scorpio but I've always been headstrong like an Aries.

And in case you're wondering, a Sage Aries "coming into her own" can definitely bounce off the walls in her best (or worst) moments, as long as it makes people laugh ;)

@Nick Sweeney (Babylove) Well you know that's exactly what ticks me off :laughing2: The Pisces descriptions are soooo unworldly. My mother and one of my sisters are March Fishes, and while the one is the stereotypical out-there dreamer the other could just as well be an Aries. But yes, this "something greater" aspect definitely makes sense. I think that my Fishness is mostly expressed in my being a Spiritualist.

BUT @Bobby Debra Silverman is HILARIOUS! OMG, so funny. Her Fish did correspond with me in some areas much more than anything I've read/heard earlier!

@Cong Two Roosters under the same roof?!? It must have been an eventful childhood :raspberry-tounge:
